| 25:2 | The which Ieremiah the prophet spake vnto all the people of Iudah, and to all the inhabitants of Ierusalem, saying; |
| 25:3 | From the thirteenth yere of Iosiah the sonne of Amon king of Iudah, euen vnto this day (that is the three and twentith yeere) the word of the Lord hath come vnto me, and I haue spoken vnto you, rising early and speaking, but yee haue not hearkened. |
| 25:4 | And the Lord hath sent vnto you all his seruants the prophets, rising early and sending them, but yee haue not hearkened, nor inclined your eare to heare. |
| 25:5 | They sayd, Turne yee againe now euery one from his euill way, and from the euil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord hath giuen vnto you, and to your fathers for euer and euer. |
| 25:6 | And goe not after other Gods to serue them, and to worship them, and prouoke mee not to anger with the workes of your hands, and I will doe you no hurt. |
| 25:7 | Yet yee haue not hearkened vnto me, saith the Lord, that yee might prouoke me to anger with the workes of your hands, to your owne hurt. |
| 25:8 | Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes; Because yee haue not heard my words: |
| 25:9 | Behold, I will send and take all the families of the North, saith the Lord, and Nebuchad-rezzar the king of Babylon my seruant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will vtterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetuall desolations. |
| 25:10 | Moreouer, I will take from them the voyce of myrth, and the voice of gladnes, the voice of the bridegrome, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the milstones, & the light of the candle. |
| 25:11 | And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment, and these nations shal serue the king of Babylon seuentie yeeres. |
| 25:12 | And it shall come to passe when seuentie yeeres are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquitie, and the land of the Caldeans, and will make it perpetuall desolations. |
| 25:13 | And I will bring vpon that land all my words which I haue pronounced against it, euen all that is written in this booke, which Ieremiah hath prophecied against all the nations. |
| 25:14 | For many nations and great kings shall serue themselues of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the workes of their owne hands. |
| 25:15 | For thus saith the Lord God of Israel vnto me, Take the wine cup of this furie at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drinke it. |
| 25:16 | And they shall drinke, and be moued, and be mad, because of the sworde that I will send among them. |
| 25:17 | Then tooke I the cuppe at the Lords hand, and made all the nations to drinke, vnto whom the Lord had sent me: |
| 25:18 | To wit Ierusalem, and the cities of Iudah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse (as it is this day:) |
| 25:19 | Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his seruants, and his princes, and all his people: |
| 25:20 | And all the mingled people, & all the kings of the land of Uz: and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod: |
| 25:21 | Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon: |
| 25:22 | And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the yles which are beyond the sea: |
| 25:23 | Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the vtmost corners: |
| 25:24 | And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert: |
| 25:25 | And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes: |
| 25:26 | And all the kings of the North, farre and neere, one with another, and all the kingdomes of the world, which are vpon the face of the earth, and the king of Sheshach shall drinke after them. |
| 25:27 | Therefore thou shalt say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Drinke ye and bee drunken, and spue and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I wil send among you. |
| 25:28 | And it shall bee, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drinke, then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Yee shall certainely drinke. |
| 25:29 | For loe, I begin to bring euill on the citie, which is called by my name, and should yee be vtterly vnpunished? ye shall not be vnpunished: for I will cal for a sword vpon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 25:30 | Therefore prophecie thou against them all these wordes, and say vnto them, The Lord shall roare from an high, and vtter his voice from his holy habitation, he shall mightily roare vpon his habitation, hee shall giue a shout, as they that treade the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. |
| 25:31 | A noise shall come euen to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controuersie with the nations: hee will pleade with all flesh, he will giue them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord. |
| 25:32 | Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, euill shall goe forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlewinde shall be raised vp from the coasts of the earth. |
| 25:33 | And the slaine of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth euen vnto the other ende of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered nor buried, they shall be doung vpon the ground. |
| 25:34 | Howle yee shepheards and cry, and wallow your selues in the ashes ye principall of the flocke: for the dayes of your slaughter, and of your dispersions are accomplished, and yee shall fall like a pleasant vessell. |
| 25:35 | And the shepheards shall haue no way to flee, nor the principall of the flocke to escape. |
| 25:36 | A voyce of the cry of the shepheards, and an howling of the principall of the flocke shall be heard: for the Lord hath spoiled their pasture. |
| 25:37 | And the peaceable habitations are cut downe because of the fierce anger of the Lord. |
| 25:38 | He hath forsaken his couert, as the Lyon: for their land is desolate, because of the fiercenesse of the oppressour, and because of his fierce anger. |

| 25:4 | And the Lord hath sent vnto you all his seruantes the Prophets, rising early and sending them, but yee would not heare, nor encline your eares to obey. |
| 25:5 | They sayde, Turne againe now euery one from his euill way, and from the wickednes of your inuentions, and ye shall dwell in the lande that the Lord hath giuen vnto you, and to your fathers for euer and euer. |
| 25:6 | And go not after other gods to serue them and to worshippe them, and prouoke me not to anger with the workes of your hands, and I will not punish you. |
| 25:7 | Neuerthelesse ye would not heare me, saith the Lord, but haue prouoked mee to anger with the workes of your hands to your owne hurt. |
| 25:8 | Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes, Because ye haue not heard my wordes, |
| 25:9 | Beholde, I will send and take to mee all the families of the North, saith the Lord, and Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and will bring them against this lande, and against the inhabitantes thereof, and against all these nations rounde about, and will destroy them, and make them an astonishment and an hissing, and a continuall desolation. |
| 25:10 | Moreouer I will take from them the voyce of mirth and the voyce of gladnesse, the voyce of the bridegrome and the voyce of the bride, the noise of the milstones, and the light of the candle. |
| 25:11 | And this whole land shalbe desolate, and an astonishment, and these nations shall serue the King of Babel seuentie yeeres. |
| 25:12 | And when the seuentie yeres are accomplished, I will visite the King of Babel and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquities, euen the land of the Caldeans, and will make it a perpetuall desolation, |
| 25:13 | And I will bring vpon that lande all my wordes which I haue pronounced against it, euen all that is written in this booke, which Ieremiah hath prophecied against all nations. |
| 25:14 | For many nations, and great Kings shall euen serue themselues of them: thus will I recompense them according to their deedes, and according to the workes of their owne handes. |
| 25:15 | For thus hath the Lord God of Israel spoken vnto me, Take the cuppe of wine of this mine indignation at mine hand, and cause all the nations, to whome I sende thee, to drinke it. |
| 25:16 | And they shall drinke, and be moued and be mad, because of the sworde that I will sende among them. |
| 25:17 | Then tooke I the cup at the Lordes hand, and made all people to drinke, vnto whome the Lord had sent me: |
| 25:18 | Euen Ierusalem, and the cities of Iudah, and the Kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them desolate, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse, as appeareth this day: |
| 25:19 | Pharaoh also, King of Egypt, and his seruants, and his princes, and all his people: |
| 25:20 | And all sortes of people, and all the Kings of the lande of Vz: and all the Kings of the lande of the Philistims, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod: |
| 25:21 | Edom, and Moab, and the Ammonites, |
| 25:22 | And all the Kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the Kings of the Yles, that are beyonde the Sea, |
| 25:23 | And Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that dwell in the vttermost corners, |
| 25:24 | And all the Kings of Arabia, and all the Kings of Arabia, that dwell in the desert, |
| 25:25 | And all the Kings of Zimri, and all the Kings of Elam, and all the Kings of the Medes, |
| 25:26 | And all the Kings of the North, farre and neere one to another, and all the kingdomes of the worlde, which are vpon the earth, and the king of Sheshach shall drinke after them. |
| 25:27 | Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Drinke and bee drunken, and spewe and fall, and rise no more, because of the sworde, which I will sende among you. |
| 25:28 | But if they refuse to take the cuppe at thine hande to drinke, then tell them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Ye shall certainely drinke. |
| 25:29 | For loe, I beginne to plague the citie, where my Name is called vpon, and shoulde you goe free? Ye shall not goe quite: for I will call for a sword vpon al the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hostes. |
| 25:30 | Therefore prophecie thou against them al these words, and say vnto them, The Lord shall roare from aboue, and thrust out his voyce from his holy habitation: he shall roare vpon his habitation, and crie aloude, as they that presse the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. |
| 25:31 | The sounde shall come to the endes of the earth: for the Lord hath a controuersie with the nations, and will enter into iudgement with all flesh, and he will giue them that are wicked, to the sworde, saith the Lord. |
| 25:32 | Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Behold, a plague shall goe foorth from nation to nation, and a great whirlewinde shalbe raised vp from the coastes of the earth, |
| 25:33 | And the slaine of the Lord shall be at that day, from one ende of the earth, euen vnto the other ende of the earth: they shall not bee mourned, neither gathered nor buried, but shalbe as the dongue vpon the grounde. |
| 25:34 | Howle, ye shepherdes, and crie, and wallowe your selues in the ashes, ye principall of the flocke: for your dayes of slaughter are accomplished, and of your dispersion, and ye shall fall like precious vessels. |
| 25:35 | And the flight shall faile from the shepherdes, and the escaping from the principall of the flocke. |
| 25:36 | A voyce of the crye of the shepherdes, and an howling of the principall of the flocke shalbe heard: for the Lord hath destroyed their pasture. |
| 25:37 | And the best pastures are destroyed because of the wrath and indignation of the Lord. |
| 25:38 | He hath forsaken his couert, as the lyon: for their land is waste, because of the wrath of the oppressor, and because of ye wrath of his indignatio. |
| 25:1 | A sermon that was geuen vnto Ieremy, vpon all the people of Iuda. In the fourth yeare of Iehoakim the sonne of Iosias kynge of Iuda that was in the fyrst yeare of Nabuchodonosor kyng of Babilon. |
| 25:2 | Which sermon, Ieremy the prophet made vnto all the people of Iuda, and to all the inhabitours of Ierusalem, on this maner. |
| 25:3 | From the thyrtene yeare of Iosias the sonne of Amon kynge of Iuda, vnto thys present daye (that is euen .xxiii. yeare) the worde of the Lorde hath bene committed vnto me. And so I haue spoken to you, I haue rysen vp early, I haue geuen you warnynge in season, but ye wolde not heare me. |
| 25:4 | Though the Lorde hath sent hys seruauntes, all the prophetes vnto you in season. Yet wolde ye not obeye, ye wolde not enclyne youre eares to heare. |
| 25:5 | He sayde turne agayne euery man from his euell waye, and from your wicked ymaginacions, and so shall ye dwell for euer in the lande, that the Lorde promised you & youre forefathers. |
| 25:6 | And go not after straunge goddes, serue them not, worship them not, and angre me not wyth the worckes of your handes: then wyl not I punish you. |
| 25:7 | Neuertheles ye wolde not heare me (sayth the Lord:) but haue defied me with the worckes of your handes, to your awne greate harme. |
| 25:8 | Wherfore thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes: Because ye haue not herkened vnto my worde, |
| 25:9 | lo, I wyll sende out, & call for all the people, that dwell in the North, sayeth the Lorde, and will prepayre Nabuchodonosor the kynge of Babylon my seruaunt, and will brynge them vpon this lande, and vpon all that dwell therin, and vpon all the people that are aboute them, and wyll vtterly rote them oute. I will make of them a wildernesse, a mockage, and a continuall deserte. |
| 25:10 | Moreouer, I wyll take from them the voyce of gladnesse and solace, the voyce of the brydegrome and the bryde, the voyce of the anoynted, with the creshettes: |
| 25:11 | and thys whole lande shall become a wyldernes, and these nacions shall serue the kynge of Babylon, threscore yeares and ten. |
| 25:12 | When the .lxx. yeares are expired, I wyll vyset also the wyckednesse of the kynge of Babylon and his people sayeth the Lorde: yee, and the lande of the Caldees, and wyll make it a perpetuall wyldernes, |
| 25:13 | and wyll fulfyll all my wordes vpon that lande, which I haue deuised agaynst it: yee, all that is written in this boke, which Ieremy hathe prophecyed of all people: |
| 25:14 | so that they also shall be subdued vnto diuers nacions & great kynges for I wyll recompense them, accordynge to theyr dedes and worckes of theyr awne handes. |
| 25:15 | For thus hath the Lorde God of Israel spoken vnto me: Take this wyne cuppe of indignacion fro my hande, that thou mayest cause all the people, to whom I send the, for to dryncke of it: |
| 25:16 | that when they haue droncken therof, they maye be mad, & out of their wyttes, when the swearde commeth, that I wyll sende amonge them. |
| 25:17 | Then toke I the cuppe from the Lordes hande, and made all people to dryncke therof, vnto whome the Lorde had sent me. |
| 25:18 | But fyrst the cytie of Ierusalem, & all the cyties of Iuda, their kynges and prynces, to make them desolate, wast, despysed, and hyssed at, and cursed, accordynge as it is come to passe this daye. |
| 25:19 | Yee, and Pharao the kinge of Egypte, his seruauntes, his princes and his people all together one wyth anoth |
| 25:20 | & all kynges of the lande of Hus, all kynges of the Philistines lande, Ascalon, Azah, Accaron and the remnaunt of Asdod, |
| 25:21 | the Edomites, the Moabites and the Ammonites |
| 25:22 | al the kynges of Tirus & Sidon: the kinges of the Iles that are beyonde the see: |
| 25:23 | Dedan, Thema, Buz & all them that dwell in the vttermost partes of the worlde: |
| 25:24 | all the kinges of Araby and (generally) all the kynges that dwel in the deserte: |
| 25:25 | al the kinges of Zamri, al the kynges of Elam, all the kinges of the Medees, |
| 25:26 | all kynges towarde the North, whether they be farre or nye, euery one agaynst his neyghbours: Yee, and all the kyngdomes that are vpon the whole earth. The kynge of Sezach sayde he shall dryncke with them also. |
| 25:27 | Therfore saye thou vnto them: Thys is the commaundement of the Lorde of Hostes the God of Israel: Drincke and be droncken, spewe and fall, that ye neuer ryse, and that thorowe the swearde, whych I wyll sende amonge you. |
| 25:28 | But yf they will not receaue the cuppe of thy hande, and dryncke it, then tell them: Thus doth the Lorde of Hostes threaten you: dryncke it ye shall, and that shortely. |
| 25:29 | For lo, I begynne to plage the cytye, that my name is geuen vnto: thincke ye then that I wyll leaue you vnpunished? Ye shal not go quyte, for why, I call for a swearde vpon all the inhabitours of the earth, sayeth the Lorde of Hostes. |
| 25:30 | Therfore tell them all these wordes and saye vnto them. The Lorde shall crye from aboue, and let his voyce be herde from hys holy habytacion. With a great noyse shall he crye from hys courte regall. He shall geue a great voyce, lyke the grape gatherers, and the sounde ther of shalbe hearde vnto the endes of the worlde. |
| 25:31 | For the Lorde hath a iudgement to geue vpon all people, & will holde his court of iustice with all flesh, and punish the vngodly, sayth the Lorde. |
| 25:32 | For thus sayth the Lord of hostes: Beholde, a miserable plage shall goo from one people to another, and a greate stormy water shall aryse from all the endes of the earth. |
| 25:33 | And the same daye shall the Lorde him selfe sleye them, from one ende of the earth to another. There shall no mone be made for eny of them, none gathered vp, none buryed: but shall lye as dunge vpon the grounde. |
| 25:34 | Mourne, O ye shepherdes, and crye: sprinkle youre selues with ashes, O ye rammes of the flocke: for the tyme of youre slaughter is fulfylled, that ye shall sleye one another, and you shalbe scatred, and ye shall fall lyke vessels connyngly made. |
| 25:35 | The shepherdes shall haue no waye to fle, and the rammes of the flocke shall not escape. |
| 25:36 | Then shall the shepherdes crye horryly, and the rammes of the flocke shall mourne? for the Lorde hath consumed their pasture, |
| 25:37 | and theyr best feldes lye deed because of the horryble wrath of the Lord. |
| 25:38 | They haue forsaken theyr foldes lyke as a lyon. For theyr lande is waste, because of his furiouse crueltye, and of his fearfull indignatyon. |
