| 27:1 | In the begynninge of the reygne of Iehoakim the sonne of Iosiah kyng of Iuda, came this word vnto Ieremy from the Lorde, which spake thus vnto me: |
| 27:2 | Make the bondes and chaynes, and put them about thy necke, |
| 27:3 | and send them to the kynge of Edom, to the kynge of Moab, to the kynge of Ammon, to the king of Tirus, and to the kynge of Sidon: and that by the messengers, which shall come to Ierusalem vnto Zedekiah the kinge of Iuda: |
| 27:4 | and byd them saye vnto theyr masters: Thus sayth the Lorde of hostes the God of Israel: speake thus vnto your masters: |
| 27:5 | I am he that made the earth, the men and the catell that are vpon the grounde, with my great power and outstretched arme, and haue geuen it vnto whom it pleased me. |
| 27:6 | And now will I delyuer all these landes into the power of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my seruaunt. The beastes also of the felde shall I geue hym to do hym seruyce. |
| 27:7 | And all people shall serue hym, & hys sonne, and his childers children, vntill the tyme of the same lande become also: yee, many people and great kinges shall serue him. |
| 27:8 | Moreouer, that people and kyngdome, which wyll not serue Nabuchodonosor, and that wyll not putt theyr neckes vnder the yocke of the kyng of Babilon: the same people wyll I vyset with the swearde, with honger, with pestilence, vntyll I haue consumed them in hys handes, sayeth the Lorde. |
| 27:9 | And therfore, folowe not your prophetes, sothesayers, expounders of dreames, charmers and wytches: which saye vnto you: ye shall not serue the kynge of Babylon. |
| 27:10 | For they preache you lyes: to brynge you farre from your lande, and that I might cast you out, and destroye you. |
| 27:11 | But the people that put theyr neckes vnder the yock of the king of Babylon, and serue hym, those I will let remayne styll in their awne lande, sayth the Lorde, and they shall occupye it, and dwell therin. |
| 27:12 | All these thynges tolde I Zedekiah the king of Iuda, and sayde: Put your neckes vnder the yocke of the king of Babilon, and serue him and his people, that ye maye lyue. |
| 27:13 | Why wylt thou and thy people perysh with the swearde, with honger, with pestylence: lyke as the Lorde hath deuysed for all people, that wyll not serue the kynge of Babylon? |
| 27:14 | Therfore, geue no eare vnto those prophetes, that tell you: ye shall not serue the kyng of Babylon: for they preache you lies: |
| 27:15 | nether haue I sente them, sayeth the Lorde. Howbeit they are bolde, falsely to prophecy in my name: that I myght the sooner dryue you out, and that ye myght peryshe with yor preachers. |
| 27:16 | I spake to the prestes also, and to all the people. Thus sayth the Lorde: Heare not the wordes of those prophetes, that preache vnto you, and saye: Beholde, the vesselles of the Lordes house shall shortlye be brought hyther agayne from Babilon. For they prophecye lyes vnto you. |
| 27:17 | Heare them not, but serue the kynge of Babylon, that ye maye lyue. Wherfore wyll ye make thys citye to be destroyed? |
| 27:18 | But yf they be true prophetes in very dede, and yf the worde of the Lorde be committed vnto them, then let them praye the Lorde of hostes, that the remnaunt of the ornamentes (which are in the house of the Lorde, and remayne yet in the house of the kynge of Iuda and at Ierusalem) be not caryed to Babylon also. |
| 27:19 | For thus hath the Lorde of hoostes spoken concernynge the pyllers, the lauer, the seate and the resydue of the ornamentes that yet remayne in thys citye, |
| 27:20 | which Nabuchodonosor the kynge of Babylon toke not, when he caryed awaye Iechoniah the sonne of Iehoakim king of Iuda with all the power of Iuda and Ierusalem, from Ierusalem vnto Babylon, captyue. |
| 27:21 | Yee, thus hath the Lorde of hoostes the God of Israel spoken, as touchynge the resydue of the ornamentes of the Lordes house, of the kynge of Iudaes house, and of Ierusalem. |
| 27:22 | ( |
| 27:1 | In the bigynnyng of the rewme of Joachym, the sone of Josie, kyng of Juda, this word was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, and seide, |
| 27:2 | The Lord seith these thingis to me, Make thou to thee boondis and chaynes, and thou schalt putte tho in thi necke; |
| 27:3 | and thou schalt sende tho to the kyng of Edom, and to the kyng of Moab, and to the kyng of the sones of Amon, and to the kyng of Tyre, and to the kyng of Sidon, bi the hond of messangeris that camen to Jerusalem, and to Sedechie, kyng of Juda. |
| 27:4 | And thou schalt comaunde to hem, that thei speke to her lordis, The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Ye schulen seie these thingis to youre lordis, |
| 27:5 | Y made erthe, and man, and beestis that ben on the face of al erthe, in my greet strengthe, and in myn arm holdun forth; and Y yaf it to hym that plesyde bifore myn iyen. |
| 27:6 | And now therfor Y yaf alle these londis in the hond of Nabugodonosor, my seruaunt, the kyng of Babiloyne; ferthermore and Y yaf to hym the beestis of the feeld, that thei serue hym. |
| 27:7 | And alle folkis schulen serue hym, and his sone, and the sone of his sone, til the tyme of his lond and of hym come; and many folkis and grete kyngis schulen serue hym. |
| 27:8 | Forsothe the folk and rewme that serueth not Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and whoeuer bowith not his necke vndur the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne, Y schal visite on that folk in swerd, and hungur, and pestilence, seith the Lord, til Y waaste hem in his hond. |
| 27:9 | Therfor nyle ye here youre profetis, and false dyuynouris, and dremeris, and dyuyneris bi chiteryng and fleyng of briddis, and witchis, that seien to you, Ye schulen not serue the kyng of Babiloyne; |
| 27:10 | for thei profesien a lessyng to you, that thei make you fer fro youre lond, and caste out you, and ye perische. |
| 27:11 | Certis the folk that makith suget her nol vndur the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne, and serueth hym, Y schal dismytte it in his lond, seith the Lord; and it schal tile that lond, and schal dwelle therynne. |
| 27:12 | And Y spak bi alle these wordis to Sedechie, kyng of Juda, and Y seide, Make ye suget youre neckis vndur the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne, and serue ye hym, and his puple, and ye schulen lyue. |
| 27:13 | Whi schulen ye die, thou and thi puple, bi swerd, and hungur, and pestilence, as the Lord spak to the folk, that nolde serue to the kyng of Babiloyne? |
| 27:14 | Nyle ye here the wordis of profetis seiynge to you, Ye schulen not serue the kyng of Babiloyne; for thei speken leesyng to you, for Y sente not hem, seith the Lord; |
| 27:15 | and thei profesien falsly in my name, that thei caste out you, and that ye perische, bothe ye and the profetis that profesien to you. |
| 27:16 | And Y spak to the preestis, and to this puple, and Y seide, The Lord God seith these thingis, Nyle ye here the wordis of youre profetis, that profesien to you, and seien, Lo! the vessels of the Lord schulen turne ayen now soone fro Babiloyne; for thei profesien a leesyng to you. |
| 27:17 | Therfor nyle ye here hem, but serue ye to the kyng of Babiloyne, that ye lyue; whi is this citee youun in to wildirnesse? |
| 27:18 | And if thei ben profetis, and if the word of God is in hem, renne thei to the Lord of oostis, that the vessels whiche weren left in the hous of the Lord, and in the hous of the kyng of Juda, and in Jerusalem, come not in to Babiloyne. |
| 27:19 | For the Lord of oostis seith these thingis to the pilers, and to the see, that is, a greet waischyng vessel, and to the foundementis, and to the remenauntis of vessels, that weren left in this citee, |
| 27:20 | whiche Nabugodonosor, king of Babiloyne, took not, whanne he translatide Jeconye, the sone of Joachim, king of Juda, fro Jerusalem in to Babiloyne, and alle the principal men of Juda and of Jerusalem. |
| 27:21 | For the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis to the vessels that ben left in the hous of the Lord, and in the hous of the king of Juda, and in Jerusalem, Tho schulen be translatid in to Babiloyne, |
| 27:22 | and schulen be there `til to the dai of her visitacioun, seith the Lord; and Y schal make tho to be brouyt, and to be restorid in this place. |
| 27:1 | In the begynnynge of the reigne of Ioachim the sonne of Iosias kynge of Iuda, came this worde vnto Ieremy from the LORDE, which spake thus vnto me: |
| 27:2 | Make the bondes & chaynes, and put them aboute thy neck, |
| 27:3 | & sende the to the kinge of Edom, the kinge of Moab, the kinge of Amon, the kinge of Tirus, & to the kinge of Sidon: & that by the messaungers, which shal come to Ierusalem vnto Sedechias the kinge of Iuda, |
| 27:4 | and byd them saye vnto their masters: Thus saieth the LORDE of hoostes the God of Israel, speake thus vnto yor masters: |
| 27:5 | I am he that made the earth, the men & ye catell that are vpon the grounde, with my greate power & outstretched arme, & haue geuen it vnto whom it pleased me. |
| 27:6 | And now will I delyuer all these londes in to the power of Nabuchodonosor the kinge of Babilon my seruaunt. The beestes also of the felde shal I geue him to do him seruyce. |
| 27:7 | And all people shal serue him, & his sonne, and his childes children, vntil the tyme of the same lode be come also: Yee many people & greate kinges shal serue him. |
| 27:8 | Morouer, that people & kingdome which wil not serue Nabuchodonosor, and that wil not put their neckes vnder ye yock of the kinge of Babilon: the same people will I viset with swearde, with honger, with pestilence, vntill I haue consumed them in his hondes, saieth the LORDE. |
| 27:9 | And therfore, folowe not youre prophetes, soythsayers, expounders of dreames, charmers & witches, which saye vnto you: ye shal not serue the kinge of Babilon. |
| 27:10 | For they preach you lies, to bringe you farre from youre londe, & that I might cast you out, & destroye you. |
| 27:11 | But the people that put their neckes vnder the yock of the kinge of Babilon, & serue him, those I wil let remayne still in their owne lode (saieth the LORDE) & they shal occupie it, & dwell there in. |
| 27:12 | All these thinges tolde I Sedechias the kinge of Iuda, and sayde: Put youre neckes vnder the yock of the kinge of Babilon, and serue him & his people, that ye maye lyue. |
| 27:13 | Why wilt thou and thy people perish with the swearde, with honger, with pestilence: like as the LORDE hath deuysed for all people, that wil not serue the kinge of Babilon? |
| 27:14 | Therfore geue no eare vnto those prophetes (that tell you: Ye shall not serue the kinge of Babilon) for they preach you lies, |
| 27:15 | nether haue I sent them, saieth the LORDE: how be it they are bolde, falsely for to prophecie in my name: that I might ye sooner dryue you out, & that ye might perish with yor preachers. |
| 27:16 | I spake to the prestes also and to all the people: Thus saieth the LORDE: Heare not the wordes of those prophetes, that preach vnto you, & saye: Beholde, the vessels of the LORDES house shall shortly be brought hither agayne from Babilon: For they prophecie lies vnto you. |
| 27:17 | Heare them not, but serue the kinge of Babilon, yt ye maye lyue. Wherfore will ye make this cite to be destroyed? |
| 27:18 | But yf they be true prophetes in very dede, and yf the worde of the LORDE be commytted vnto them, then let them praye the LORDE of hoostes, that the remnaunt of the ornamentes (which are in the house of the LORDE, and remayne yet in the house of the kinge of Iuda and at Ierusalem) be not caried to Babilon also. |
| 27:19 | For thus hath the LORDE of hoostes spoken concernynge the pylers, the lauer, the seate and the residue of the ornamentes that yet remayne in this citie, |
| 27:20 | which Nabuchodonosor the kinge of Babilon toke not, when he caried awaye Iechonias the sonne of Ioachim kinge of Iuda, with all the power of Iuda and Ierusalem, from Ierusalem vnto Babilon, captyue. |
| 27:21 | Yee thus hath the LORDE of hoostes the God of Israel spoken, as touchinge the residue of the ornamentes of the LORDES house, of the kinge of Iudaes house, and of Ierusalem: |
| 27:22 | They shalbe caried vnto Babilon, and there they shall remayne, vntil I vyset them, saieth the LORDE. Then wil I bringe them hither agayne. |
