| 28:2 | b) And thys was done in the same yeare, euen in the begynnynge of the raygne of Zedekiah kynge of Iuda. But in the .iiij. yeare of the raygne of Zedekiah kinge of Iuda, in the .v. moneth, it happened that Hananiah the sonne of Assur the prophet of Gibeon, spake to me in the house of the Lorde, in the presence of the prestes, & of all the people, and sayde: |
| 28:3 | Thus sayth the Lorde of hoostes the God of Israel: I haue broken the yock of the king of Babilon, |
| 28:4 | & after two yeare will I brynge agayne into this place: all the ornamentes of the Lordes house, that Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon caried awaye from this place vnto Babilon. |
| 28:5 | Yee, I wyll bringe agayne Iechoniah the sonne of Iehoakim the kinge of Iuda hym selfe, with all the presoners of Iuda (that ar caryed vnto Babilon) euen into thys place, sayth the Lorde: for I wyll breake the yock of the kinge of Babylon. |
| 28:6 | Then the prophet Ieremy gaue answere vnto the prophet Hananiah, before the prestes and before all the people that were present in the house of the Lord. |
| 28:7 | And the prophete Ieremy sayde: Amen, the Lorde do that, and graunte the thyng which thou hast prophecyed: that he maye bryng agayne all the ornamentes of the Lordes house, and restore all the presoners from Babylon into this place. |
| 28:8 | Neuerthelesse, herken thou also, what I wyll saye, that thou and all the people maye heare. |
| 28:9 | The prophetes that were before vs in tyme past, which prophecyed of warre, or trouble, or pestilence, |
| 28:10 | ether of peace, vpon many nacyons and great kingdomes, were proued by thys (yf God had sende them in very dede) when the thynge came to passe, which that prophete tolde before. |
| 28:11 | And Hananiah the prophet toke the chayne from the prophete Ieremyes necke, and brake it, |
| 28:12 | and with that sayde Hananiah, that all the people might heare. Thus hath the Lorde spoken: Euen so will I breake the yock of Nabuchodonosor king of Babilon, from the neck of all nacions: yee, and that within this two yeare. And so the prophet Ieremye went his waye. |
| 28:13 | Nowe after that Hananiah the prophete had taken the chayne from the prophete Ieremyes necke, and broken it. The worde of the Lorde came vnto the prophete Ieremy, saieng: |
| 28:14 | Go, and tell Hananiah thes wordes. Thus sayth the Lorde. Thou hast broken the chayne of wodd: but in steade of wodd thou shalt make cheynes of yron. |
| 28:15 | For thus sayth the Lord of hostes the God of Israel: I wyll put a yock of yron vpon the neck of all this people, that they maye serue Nabuchodonosor the king of Babilon: yee, and so shall they do. And I wyll geue hym the beastes in the felde. |
| 28:16 | Then sayde the prophet Ieremy vnto the prophet Hananiah: heare me Hananiah: The Lorde hath not sent the but thou bringest this people into a false belefe. |
| 28:17 | And therfore thus sayth the Lorde: beholde, I wyll sende the out of the lande, and within a yeare thou shalt dye, because thou hast falsely spoken agaynst the Lorde.Jer |
| 28:1 | And it was don in that yeer, in the bigynnyng of the rewme of Sedechie, kyng of Juda, in the fourthe yeer, in the fyuethe monethe, Ananye, the sone of Azur, a profete of Gabaon, seide to me in the hous of the Lord, bifor the preestis, and al the puple, |
| 28:2 | `and seide, The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Y haue al to-broke the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne. |
| 28:3 | Yit twei yeeris of daies ben, and Y schal make to be brouyt ayen to this place alle the vessels of the Lord, whiche Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, took fro this place, and translatide tho in to Babiloyne. |
| 28:4 | And Y schal turne to this place, seith the Lord, Jeconye, the sone of Joachym, the kyng of Juda, and al the passyng ouer of Juda, that entriden in to Babiloyne; for Y schal al to-breke the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne. |
| 28:5 | And Jeremye, the profete, seide to Ananye, the profete, bifore the iyen of preestis, and bifore the iyen of al the puple that stoden in the hous of the Lord. |
| 28:6 | And Jeremye, the profete, seide to Ananye, Amen! so do the Lord; the Lord reise thi wordis whiche thou profesiedist, that the vessels be brouyt ayen in to the hous of the Lord, and al the passyng ouer fro Babiloyne, to this place. |
| 28:7 | Netheles here thou this word, which Y speke in thin eeris, and in the eeris of al the puple. |
| 28:8 | Profetis that weren bifore me, and bifor thee, fro the bigynnyng, and profesieden on many londis, and on many rewmes, of batel, and of turment, and of hungur. |
| 28:9 | The profete that profesiede pees, whanne his word cometh, shal be knowun the profete whom the Lord sente in treuthe. |
| 28:10 | And Ananye, the profete, took the chayne fro the necke of Jeremye, the profete, and brak it. |
| 28:11 | And Ananye, the profete, seide in the siyt of al the puple, `and seide, The Lord seith these thingis, So Y schal breke the yok of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, aftir twei yeeris of daies, fro the necke of alle folkis. |
| 28:12 | And Jeremye, the profete, yede in to his weie. And the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, aftir that Ananye, the profete, brak the chayne fro the necke of Jeremye; and the Lord seide, |
| 28:13 | Go thou, and seie to Ananye, The Lord seith these thingis, Thou hast al to-broke the chaynes of tre, and thou schalt make yrun chaynes for tho. |
| 28:14 | For the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Y haue set an yrun yok on the necke of alle these folkis, that thei serue Nabugodonosor, the king of Babiloyne, and thei schulen serue hym; ferthermore and Y yaf to hym the beestis of erthe. |
| 28:15 | And Jeremye, the profete, seide to Ananye, the profete, Ananye, here thou; the Lord sente not thee, and thou madist this puple for to triste in a leesyng. |
| 28:16 | Therfor the Lord seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal sende thee out fro the face of erthe; in this yeer thou schalt die, for thou spakest ayens the Lord. |
| 28:17 | And Ananye, the profete, diede in that yeer, in the seuenthe monethe. |
| 28:1 | And this was done in the same yeare: eue in the begynnynge of the reigne of Sedechias kinge of Iuda.But in the fourth yeare of the reigne of Sedechias kinge of Iuda, in the fifth Moneth, It happened, that Hananias ye sonne of Assur the prophet of Gabaon, spake to me in the house of the LORDE, in the presence of the prestes & of all the people, & sayde: |

| 28:15 | Then sayde the prophet Ieremy vnto ye prophet Hananias: Heare me (I praye the) Hananias: The LORDE hath not sent the, but thou bringest this people in to a false beleue. |
| 28:16 | And therfore thus saieth ye LORDE: beholde, I wil sende the out of the lode, & within a yeare thou shalt die, because thou hast falsely spoke agaynst the LORDE. |
| 28:17 | So Hananias the prophet died the same yeare in the seuenth Moneth. |
