Jeremiah - Chapter: 32


32:1	The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
32:2	For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.
32:3	For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
32:4	And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
32:5	And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.
32:6	And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
32:7	Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.
32:8	So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.
32:9	And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.
32:10	And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.
32:11	So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:
32:12	And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.
32:13	And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
32:14	Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
32:15	For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
32:16	Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,
32:17	Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
32:18	Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,
32:19	Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
32:20	Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;
32:21	And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;
32:22	And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
32:23	And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:
32:24	Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
32:25	And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
32:26	Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
32:27	Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
32:28	Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:
32:29	And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.
32:30	For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.
32:31	For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
32:32	Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
32:33	And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
32:34	But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.
32:35	And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
32:36	And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;
32:37	Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:
32:38	And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
32:39	And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
32:40	And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
32:41	Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
32:42	For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
32:43	And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
32:44	Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.


32:1	הדבר אשׁר היה אל ירמיהו מאת יהוה בשׁנת העשׂרית לצדקיהו מלך יהודה היא השׁנה שׁמנה עשׂרה שׁנה לנבוכדראצר׃
32:2	ואז חיל מלך בבל צרים על ירושׁלם וירמיהו הנביא היה כלוא בחצר המטרה אשׁר בית מלך יהודה׃
32:3	אשׁר כלאו צדקיהו מלך יהודה לאמר מדוע אתה נבא לאמר כה אמר יהוה הנני נתן את העיר הזאת ביד מלך בבל ולכדה׃
32:4	וצדקיהו מלך יהודה לא ימלט מיד הכשׂדים כי הנתן ינתן ביד מלך בבל ודבר פיו עם פיו ועיניו את עינו תראינה׃
32:5	ובבל יולך את צדקיהו ושׁם יהיה עד פקדי אתו נאם יהוה כי תלחמו את הכשׂדים לא תצליחו׃
32:6	ויאמר ירמיהו היה דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
32:7	הנה חנמאל בן שׁלם דדך בא אליך לאמר קנה לך את שׂדי אשׁר בענתות כי לך משׁפט הגאלה לקנות׃
32:8	ויבא אלי חנמאל בן דדי כדבר יהוה אל חצר המטרה ויאמר אלי קנה נא את שׂדי אשׁר בענתות אשׁר בארץ בנימין כי לך משׁפט הירשׁה ולך הגאלה קנה לך ואדע כי דבר יהוה הוא׃
32:9	ואקנה את השׂדה מאת חנמאל בן דדי אשׁר בענתות ואשׁקלה לו את הכסף שׁבעה שׁקלים ועשׂרה הכסף׃
32:10	ואכתב בספר ואחתם ואעד עדים ואשׁקל הכסף במאזנים׃
32:11	ואקח את ספר המקנה את החתום המצוה והחקים ואת הגלוי׃
32:12	ואתן את הספר המקנה אל ברוך בן נריה בן מחסיה לעיני חנמאל דדי ולעיני העדים הכתבים בספר המקנה לעיני כל היהודים הישׁבים בחצר המטרה׃
32:13	ואצוה את ברוך לעיניהם לאמר׃
32:14	כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישׂראל לקוח את הספרים האלה את ספר המקנה הזה ואת החתום ואת ספר הגלוי הזה ונתתם בכלי חרשׂ למען יעמדו ימים רבים׃
32:15	כי כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישׂראל עוד יקנו בתים ושׂדות וכרמים בארץ הזאת׃
32:16	ואתפלל אל יהוה אחרי תתי את ספר המקנה אל ברוך בן נריה לאמר׃
32:17	אהה אדני יהוה הנה אתה עשׂית את השׁמים ואת הארץ בכחך הגדול ובזרעך הנטויה לא יפלא ממך כל דבר׃
32:18	עשׂה חסד לאלפים ומשׁלם עון אבות אל חיק בניהם אחריהם האל הגדול הגבור יהוה צבאות שׁמו׃
32:19	גדל העצה ורב העליליה אשׁר עיניך פקחות על כל דרכי בני אדם לתת לאישׁ כדרכיו וכפרי מעלליו׃
32:20	אשׁר שׂמת אתות ומפתים בארץ מצרים עד היום הזה ובישׂראל ובאדם ותעשׂה לך שׁם כיום הזה׃
32:21	ותצא את עמך את ישׂראל מארץ מצרים באתות ובמופתים וביד חזקה ובאזרוע נטויה ובמורא גדול׃
32:22	ותתן להם את הארץ הזאת אשׁר נשׁבעת לאבותם לתת להם ארץ זבת חלב ודבשׁ׃
32:23	ויבאו וירשׁו אתה ולא שׁמעו בקולך ובתרותך לא הלכו את כל אשׁר צויתה להם לעשׂות לא עשׂו ותקרא אתם את כל הרעה הזאת׃
32:24	הנה הסללות באו העיר ללכדה והעיר נתנה ביד הכשׂדים הנלחמים עליה מפני החרב והרעב והדבר ואשׁר דברת היה והנך ראה׃
32:25	ואתה אמרת אלי אדני יהוה קנה לך השׂדה בכסף והעד עדים והעיר נתנה ביד הכשׂדים׃
32:26	ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו לאמר׃
32:27	הנה אני יהוה אלהי כל בשׂר הממני יפלא כל דבר׃
32:28	לכן כה אמר יהוה הנני נתן את העיר הזאת ביד הכשׂדים וביד נבוכדראצר מלך בבל ולכדה׃
32:29	ובאו הכשׂדים הנלחמים על העיר הזאת והציתו את העיר הזאת באשׁ ושׂרפוה ואת הבתים אשׁר קטרו על גגותיהם לבעל והסכו נסכים לאלהים אחרים למען הכעסני׃
32:30	כי היו בני ישׂראל ובני יהודה אך עשׂים הרע בעיני מנערתיהם כי בני ישׂראל אך מכעסים אתי במעשׂה ידיהם נאם יהוה׃
32:31	כי על אפי ועל חמתי היתה לי העיר הזאת למן היום אשׁר בנו אותה ועד היום הזה להסירה מעל פני׃
32:32	על כל רעת בני ישׂראל ובני יהודה אשׁר עשׂו להכעסני המה מלכיהם שׂריהם כהניהם ונביאיהם ואישׁ יהודה וישׁבי ירושׁלם׃
32:33	ויפנו אלי ערף ולא פנים ולמד אתם השׁכם ולמד ואינם שׁמעים לקחת מוסר׃
32:34	וישׂימו שׁקוציהם בבית אשׁר נקרא שׁמי עליו לטמאו׃
32:35	ויבנו את במות הבעל אשׁר בגיא בן הנם להעביר את בניהם ואת בנותיהם למלך אשׁר לא צויתים ולא עלתה על לבי לעשׂות התועבה הזאת למען החטי את יהודה׃
32:36	ועתה לכן כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישׂראל אל העיר הזאת אשׁר אתם אמרים נתנה ביד מלך בבל בחרב וברעב ובדבר׃
32:37	הנני מקבצם מכל הארצות אשׁר הדחתים שׁם באפי ובחמתי ובקצף גדול והשׁבתים אל המקום הזה והשׁבתים לבטח׃
32:38	והיו לי לעם ואני אהיה להם לאלהים׃
32:39	ונתתי להם לב אחד ודרך אחד ליראה אותי כל הימים לטוב להם ולבניהם אחריהם׃
32:40	וכרתי להם ברית עולם אשׁר לא אשׁוב מאחריהם להיטיבי אותם ואת יראתי אתן בלבבם לבלתי סור מעלי׃
32:41	ושׂשׂתי עליהם להטיב אותם ונטעתים בארץ הזאת באמת בכל לבי ובכל נפשׁי׃
32:42	כי כה אמר יהוה כאשׁר הבאתי אל העם הזה את כל הרעה הגדולה הזאת כן אנכי מביא עליהם את כל הטובה אשׁר אנכי דבר עליהם׃
32:43	ונקנה השׂדה בארץ הזאת אשׁר אתם אמרים שׁממה היא מאין אדם ובהמה נתנה ביד הכשׂדים׃
32:44	שׂדות בכסף יקנו וכתוב בספר וחתום והעד עדים בארץ בנימן ובסביבי ירושׁלם ובערי יהודה ובערי ההר ובערי השׁפלה ובערי הנגב כי אשׁיב את שׁבותם נאם יהוה׃


32:1	The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah -- it `is' the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar,
32:2	And then the forces of the king of Babylon are laying siege against Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet hath been shut up in the court of the prison that `is' in the house of the king of Judah,
32:3	Where Zedekiah king of Judah hath shut him up, saying, `Wherefore art thou prophesying, saying, Thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he hath captured it;
32:4	And Zedekiah king of Judah doth not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but is certainly given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth hath spoken with his mouth, and his eyes see his eyes,
32:5	And `to' Babylon he leadeth Zedekiah, and there he is till My inspecting him, -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- because ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye do not prosper.'
32:6	And Jeremiah saith, `A word of Jehovah hath been unto me saying,
32:7	Lo, Hanameel son of Shallum, thine uncle, is coming unto thee, saying, Buy for thee my field that `is' in Anathoth, for thine `is' the right of redemption -- to buy.
32:8	And Hanameel, my uncle's son, cometh in unto me, according to the word of Jehovah, unto the court of the prison, and saith unto me, `Buy, I pray thee, my field that `is' in Anathoth, that `is' in the land of Benjamin, for thine `is' the right of possession, and thine of redemption -- buy for thee.' And I know that it `is' the word of Jehovah,
32:9	And I buy the field, that `is' in Anathoth, from Hanameel, my uncle's son, and I weigh to him the money -- seventeen shekels of silver.
32:10	And I write in a book, and seal, and cause witnesses to testify, and weigh the silver in balances;
32:11	And I take the purchase-book, the sealed one, according to law and custom, and the open one.
32:12	And I give the purchase-book unto Baruch son of Neriah, son of Maaseiah, before the eyes of Hanameel, my uncle's son, and before the eyes of the witnesses, those writing in the purchase-book, before the eyes of all the Jews who are sitting in the court of the prison.
32:13	And I charge Baruch before their eyes, saying,
32:14	`Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Take these books, this purchase-book, both the sealed one and the open one, and thou hast put them in an earthen vessel, that they may remain many days;
32:15	For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Again are houses and fields and vineyards bought in this land.'
32:16	And I pray unto Jehovah -- after my giving the purchase-book unto Baruch son of Neriah -- saying,
32:17	`Ah, Lord Jehovah, lo, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy great power, and by Thy stretched-out arm; there is nothing too wonderful for Thee:
32:18	Doing kindness to thousands, and recompensing iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their sons after them; God, the great, the mighty, Jehovah of Hosts `is' His name,
32:19	Great in counsel, and mighty in act, in that Thine eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of Adam, to give to each according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
32:20	In that thou hast done signs and wonders in the land of Egypt unto this day, and in Israel, and among men, and Thou dost make for Thee a name as `at' this day.
32:21	`And Thou bringest forth Thy people Israel from the land of Egypt, with signs and with wonders, and by a strong hand, and by a stretched-out arm, and by great fear,
32:22	And thou givest to them this land that thou didst swear to their fathers to give to them, a land flowing with milk and honey,
32:23	And they come in, and possess it, and they have not hearkened to Thy voice, and in Thy law have not walked, all that which Thou didst lay a charge on them to do they have not done, and Thou dost proclaim `to' them all this evil.
32:24	`Lo, the mounts -- they have come in to the city to capture it, and the city hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it, because of the sword, and the famine, and the pestilence; and that which Thou hast spoken hath come to pass, and lo, Thou art seeing;
32:25	Yet Thou hast said unto me, O Lord Jehovah, Buy for thee the field with money, and cause witnesses to testify -- and the city hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans!'
32:26	And the word of Jehovah is unto Jeremiah, saying:
32:27	`Lo, I `am' Jehovah, God of all flesh: For Me is anything too wonderful?
32:28	`Therefore, thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he hath captured it;
32:29	And come in have the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city, and they have set this city on fire, and have burned it, and the houses on whose roofs they made perfume to Baal, and poured out libations to other gods, so as to provoke Me to anger.
32:30	For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been only doing evil in Mine eyes, from their youth; for the sons of Israel are only provoking Me with the work of their hands -- an affirmation of Jehovah.
32:31	`For a cause of Mine anger, and a cause of My fury, hath this city been to Me, even from the day that they built it, and unto this day -- to turn it aside from before My face,
32:32	Because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me -- they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
32:33	And they turn unto Me the neck, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not hearkening to accept instruction.
32:34	`And they set their abominations in the house over which My name is called, so as to defile it;
32:35	And they build the high places of Baal, that `are' in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on my heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin.
32:36	`And now, therefore, thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, concerning this city, of which ye are saying, It hath been given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence,
32:37	Lo, I am gathering them out of all the lands whither I have driven them in Mine anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath, and I have brought them back unto this place, and have caused them to dwell confidently;
32:38	and they have been to Me for a people, and I am to them for God;
32:39	and I have given to them one heart, and one way, to fear Me all the days, for good to them, and to their sons after them:
32:40	and I have made for them a covenant age-during, in that I turn not back from after them for My doing them good, and My fear I put in their heart, so as not to turn aside from me;
32:41	and I have rejoiced over them to do them good, and have planted them in this land in truth, with all my heart, and with all My soul.
32:42	`For thus said Jehovah: As I brought in unto this people all this great evil, so I am bringing in on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;
32:43	and bought hath been the field in this land of which ye are saying, A desolation it `is', without man and beast, it hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
32:44	Fields with money they buy, so as to write in a book, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in suburbs of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I turn back their captivity -- an affirmation of Jehovah.'
