Jeremiah - Chapter: 33

>
33:1Moreouer, the worde of the Lorde came vnto Ieremy on thys maner, when he was yet bound in the court of the preson.
33:2Thus sayth the Lorde, which fulfilleth the thing that he speaketh: the Lorde which perfourmeth the thing that he taketh in hand: euen he, whose name is the Lorde:
33:3crye vnto me, & I wyll answere, and shewe the great and hye thinges, which were vnknowen vnto the.
33:4Thus (I saye) spake the Lorde God of Israel, concerninge the houses of thys citye, and the houses of the kinges of Iuda, that they are broken thorowe the ordinaunce and the sweard.
33:5Because the enhabitours of this citie haue come to fight against the Chaldees: and they are fylled with the deed karcases of men, whom I haue sleyne in my wrath and displeasure: when I turned my face from thys citye, because of all her wickednes.
33:6Behold, sayth the Lord, I wyll repayre & heale their woundes, and make them whole: I will open them the large treasure of peace and trueth.
33:7And I will returne the captiuytie of Iuda and Israel: and wyll set them vp agayne as they were afore.
33:8From all mysdedes, wherin they haue offended agenst me, I will clense them. And all their blasphemyes which they haue done agaynst me, when they regarded me not, I will forgeue them.
33:9And thys shall get me a name, a prayse, & honoure among all the people of the earth, which shall heare all the good, that I wyll shewe vnto them: yee, they shall be afrayed and astonyed at all the good dedes and benefytes that I wyll do for them.
33:10Moreouer, thus sayth the Lorde: In this place, wherof ye saye that it shalbe a wyldernes, wherin nether people ner catell shall dwell: in like maner in the cityes of Iuda & without Ierusalem (which also shalbe so voyde, that nether people ner catell shall dwell there)
33:11shall the voyce of gladnes be hearde agayne, the voyce of the brydegrome & of the bryde, the voyce of them that shall singe: Prayse the Lorde of hoostes, for he is louynge and hys mercy endureth for euer: and the voyce of them that shall offer vp giftes in the house of the Lorde. For I will restore the captiuitie of this lande, as it was afore, sayth the Lorde.
33:12Thus sayeth the Lorde of hoostes: It shall come yet therto, that in thys lande, which is voyde from men and catell, and in all the cityes of the lande, there shalbe set vp shepherdes cotages:
33:13in the cityes vpon the mountaynes: and in the cyties that lye vpon the playne, and in the cyties of the southe. In the lande of BenIamin, in the feldes of Ierusalem, and in the cyties of Iuda shall the shepe be nombred agayne, vnder the hande of hym, that telleth them, sayeth the Lord
33:14Beholde, the tyme commeth, sayeth the Lorde, that I will perfourme that good thynge, which I haue promised vnto the house of Israel and to the house of Iuda.
33:15In those dayes and at the same tyme, I wyll bring forth vnto Dauid, the braunche of ryghtuousnes, & he shall do equytie & righteousnesse in the lande.
33:16In those dayes shall Iuda be helped and Ierusalem shall dwell safe, and he that shall call her is euen God oure ryghteousnesse.
33:17For thus the Lorde promyseth. Dauid shall neuer want one, to syt vpon the throne of the house of Israel:
33:18nether shall the prestes and Leuites want one to offre allwaye before me burntofferinges, to kyndle the meatofferynges, and to prepare the sacrifyces.
33:19And the worde of the Lord came vnto Ieremy after this maner.
33:20Thus sayeth the Lord: maye the couenaunt which I haue made wt daye and nyght be broken, that there shulde not be daye and nyght in due season?
33:21Then maye my couenaunt also be broken, which I made wt Dauid my seruaunte, and so he not to haue a sonne to reygne in hys throne. so shall also the prestes & Leuites neuer fayle, but serue me.
33:22For lyke as the starres of heauen maye not be nombred, nether the sande of the see measured: so wyll I multiplye the sede of Dauid my seruaunt, & the Leuites my ministers.
33:23Moreouer, the worde of the Lorde came to Ieremy, saying:
33:24Consydrest thou not what this people speaketh? Two kynreddes (saye they) had the Lorde chosen, & those same two hath he cast awaye. For so they haue despised my people & they reputed them as though they were no people,
33:25Therfore thus saieth the Lorde: If I haue made no couenaunt with daye & nyght, & geuen no statute vnto heauen & earth:
33:26then will I also cast awaye the sede of Iacob & Dauid my seruaunt: so that I will take no prince out of his sede, to rule the posteritie of Abraham, Isaac & Iacob. But yet I wil turne agayne their captiuitie, & be mercyfull vnto them.

33:1And the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, in the secounde tyme, whanne he was closid yit in the porche of the prisoun, and seide,
33:2The Lord seith these thingis, The Lord is name of hym, that schal do, and fourme, and make redi that thing;
33:3Crye thou to me, and Y schal here thee, and Y schal telle to thee grete thingis, and stidfast, whiche thou knowist not.
33:4For the Lord God of Israel seith these thingis to the housis of this citee, and to the housis of the kyng of Juda, that ben distried, and to the strengthingis,
33:5and to the swerd of men comynge to fiyte with Caldeis, and to fille tho housis with careyns of men, which Y smoot in my strong veniaunce, and in myn indignacioun; and Y hidde my face fro this citee, for al the malice of hem.
33:6Lo! Y schal close togidere to hem a wounde and helthe, and Y schal make hem hool, and Y schal schewe to hem the bisechyng of pees and of treuthe;
33:7and Y schal conuerte the conuersioun of Juda, and Y schal conuerte the conuersioun of Jerusalem, and Y schal bilde hem, as at the bigynnyng.
33:8And Y schal clense hem fro al her wickidnesse, in which thei synneden to me, and Y schal be merciful to alle the wickidnessis of hem, in which thei trespassiden to me, and forsoken me.
33:9And thei schulen be to me in to a name, and in to ioye, and in to heriyng, and in to ful out ioiyng to alle folkis of erthe, that herden alle the goodis whiche Y schal do to hem; and thei schulen drede, and schulen be disturblid in alle goodis, and in al the pees, which Y schal do to hem.
33:10The Lord seith these thingis, Yit in this place, which ye seien to be forsakun, for no man is nether beeste in the citees of Juda, and in the yatis of Jerusalem, that ben desolat, without man, and with out dwellere,
33:11and with out beeste, the vois of ioye schal be herd, and the vois of gladnesse, the vois of spouse, and the vois of spousesse, the vois of men, seiynge, Knowleche ye to the Lord of oostis, for the Lord is good, for his merci is with outen ende, and of men berynge vowis in to the hous of the Lord; for Y schal brynge ayen the conuersioun of the lond, as at the bigynnyng, seith the Lord.
33:12The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Yit in this forsakun place, with out man, and with out beeste, and in alle citees therof, schal be a dwellyng place of scheepherdis, of flockis ligynge.
33:13And in the citees in hilli places, and in the citees in feeldi places, and in the citees that ben at the south, and in the lond of Beniamyn, and in the cumpas of Jerusalem, and in the citees of Juda, yit flockis schulen passe, at the hond of the noumbrere, seith the Lord.
33:14Lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and Y schal reise the good word, which Y spak to the hous of Israel, and to the hous of Juda.
33:15In tho daies, and in that tyme, Y schal make the seed of riytfulnesse to buriowne to Dauid, and he schal make doom and riytfulnesse in erthe.
33:16In tho daies Juda schal be sauyd, and Israel schal dwelle tristili; and this is the name which thei schulen clepe hym, Oure riytful Lord.
33:17For the Lord seith these thingis, A man of Dauid schal not perische, that shal sitte on the trone of the hous of Israel;
33:18and of preestis and dekenes a man schal not perische fro my face, that schal offre brent sacrifices, and brenne sacrifice, and sle sacrifice, in alle daies.
33:19And the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye,
33:20and seide, The Lord seith these thingis, If my couenaunt with the dai and my couenaunt with the niyt mai be maad voide, that the dai and the niyt be not in his tyme;
33:21and my couenaunt with Dauid, my seruaunt, mai be voide, that of hym be no sone, that schal regne in his trone, and no dekenes, and preestis, my mynistris;
33:22as the sterris of heuene moun not be noumbrid, and the grauel of the see mai not be metun, so Y schal multiplie the seed of Dauid, my seruaunt, and dekenes, my mynystris.
33:23And the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, and seide, Whether thou hast not seyn,
33:24that this puple spak, seiynge, Twei kynredis whiche the Lord chees, ben cast awei, and thei dispisiden my puple, for it is no more a folc bifore hem.
33:25The Lord seith these thingis, If Y settide not my couenaunt bitwixe dai and niyt, and if Y settide not lawis to heuene and erthe;
33:26sotheli and Y schal caste awei the seed of Jacob, and of Dauid, my seruaunt, that Y take not of the seed of hym princes, of the seed of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob; for Y schal brynge ayen the conuersioun of hem, and Y schal haue merci on hem.

33:1Morouer the worde of the LORDE came vnto Ieremy on this maner, whe he was yet bounde in the courte of the preson:
33:2Thus saieth the LORDE, which fulfilleth the thinge that he speaketh the LORDE which perfourmeth the thinge that he taketh in honde: euen he, whose name is the LORDE:
33:3Thou hast cried vnto me, and I haue herde the: I haue shewed greate and hie thinges, which were vnknowne vnto you.
33:4Thus (I saye) spake the LORDE God of Israel, concernynge the houses of this cite, and the houses of the kinges of Iuda: that they shalbe broken thorow the ordinaunce and weapens,
33:5when the Caldees come to besege them: and they shalbe fylled with the deed carcases of men, whom I will slaye in my wrath and displeasure: whe I turne my face from this cite, because of all hir wickednes.
33:6Beholde, (saieth the LORDE) I will heale their woundes, and make them whole: I will open them the treasure of peace and treuth.
33:7And I will returne the captiuyte of Iuda and Israel: and will set them vp agayne, as they were afore.
33:8From all my?dedes (wherin they haue offended agaynst me) I will clese them: And all their blasphemies which they haue done agaynst me, when they regarded me not, I will forgeue them.
33:9And this shal get me a name, a prayse and honoure, amonge all people of the earth, which shall heare all the good, that I will shewe vnto them: Yee they shall be afrayed and astonnied at all the good dedes and benefites, that I will do for them.
33:10Morouer, thus saieth the LORDE: In this place, wherof ye saye that it shalbe a wildernesse, wherin nether people ner catell shal dwell: In like maner in the cities of Iuda and without Ierusalem (which also shalbe so voyde, that nether people ner catell shall dwell there)
33:11Shal the voyce of gladnesse be herde agayne, the voyce of the brydegrome and of the bryde, the voyce of them that shall synge: (Prayse the LORDE of hoostes, for he is louynge, and his mercy endureth for euer) and the voyce of them that shall offre vp giftes in the house of the LORDE. For I will restore the captiuyte of this londe, as it was afore, saieth the LORDE.
33:12Thus saieth the LORDE of hoostes. It shall come yet therto, that in this londe, which is voyde from men and catell, and in all the cities of the londe, there shal be set vp shepherdes cotages:
33:13in the cities vpon the mountaynes, and in the cities that lie vpon the playne, and in the deserte. In the londe of BenIamin, in the feldes of Ierusalem, and in the cities of Iuda shal the shepe be nombred agayne, vnder the honde of him, that telleth them, saieth the LORDE.
33:14Beholde, the tyme commeth (saieth the LORDE) that I wil perfourme that good thinge, which I haue promised vnto the house of Israel and to the house of Iuda.
33:15In those daies and at the same tyme, I will bringe forth vnto Dauid, the braunch of rightuousnes, and he shall do equite and rightuousnesse in the londe.
33:16In those daies shall Iuda be helped, and Ierusalem shall dwell safe, and he that shall call her is euen God oure rightuous maker.
33:17For thus the LORDE promyseth: Dauid shal neuer want one, to syt vpon the stole of the house of Israel:
33:18nether shall the prestes and Leuites want one to offre all waye before me, burntofferinges, to kyndle the meatofferinges, & to prepare the sacrifices.
33:19And the worde of the LORDE came vnto Ieremy after this maner:
33:20Thus saieth the LORDE: Maye the couenaunt which I haue made with daye and night, be broken, that there shulde not be daye and night in due season?
33:21Then maye my couenaunt also be broken, which I made with Dauid my seruaunt, and so he not to haue a sonne to reigne in his Trone. So shall also the prestes and Leuites neuer fayle, but serue me.
33:22For like as the starres of heauen maye not be nombred, nether the sonde of the see measured: so will I multiplie the sede of Dauid my seruaunt, and of the Leuites my ministers.
33:23Morouer, the worde of the LORDE came to Ieremy, saienge:
33:24Cosidrest thou not what this people speaketh? Two kynreddes (saye they) had the LORDE chosen, & those same two hath he cast awaye. For so farre is my people come, yt they haue no hope to come together eny more, and to be one people agayne.
33:25Therfore thus saieth the LORDE: Yf I haue made no couenaunt with daye & night, and geue no statute vnto heauen and earth:
33:26then will I also cast awaye the sede of Dauid my seruaunt: so that I wil take no prynce out of his sede, to rule the posterite of Abraha, Isaac and Iacob. But yet I will turne agayne their captiuyte, and be mercifull vnto them.
