>
47:1These are the wordes, that the Lord spake vnto Ieremye the prophete, agaynst the Philistines, before that Pharao smote the citye of Azah.
47:2Thus sayth the Lorde: Beholde, there shall waters aryse out of the north: & shall growe to a greate floude, runnynge ouer and couerynge the lande, the cyties, and them that dwell therin. And the men shall crye, and all they that dwell in the lande, shall mourn
47:3at the noyse and stampinge of theyr stronge barbed horses, at the shakyng of theyr charettes and at the romblynge of the wheles. The fathers shall not loke to their chyldren, so feable and wery shall their handes be:
47:4at the same tyme when he shall be there, to destroye the whole lande of the Philistines. He shall make waste both Tirus, Sidon, and all other that are sworne vnto them. For the Lorde wyll destroye the Philistines, the remnaunt of the yle of Caphto
47:5Baldenesse is come vpon Azah, Ascalon with her other valleys shall kepe her peace. Howe longe wilt thou slaye,
47:6O thou swearde of the Lorde? Whan wylt thou ceasse? Turne agayne into thy swete reste, and leaue of.
47:7But howe can it cease, when the Lorde hym selfe hath geuen him a charge agaynste Ascalon, and raysed it vp agaynst the cityes of the see coast?

47:2The Lord seith these thingis, Lo! watris schulen stie fro the north, and tho schulen be as a stronde flowynge, and tho schulen hile the lond, and the fulnesse therof, the citee, and the dwelleris therof. Men schulen crie, and alle the dwelleris of the lond schulen yelle,
47:3for the noise of boost of armed men, and of werriours of hym, and for mouyng of hise cartis, and multitude of hise wheelis. Fadris bihelden not sones with clumsid hondis,
47:4for the comyng of the dai in which alle Filisteis schulen be destried; and Tirus schal be destried, and Sidon with alle her othere helpis. For the Lord hath destried Palestyns, the remenauntis of the ile of Capadocie.
47:5Ballidnesse cam on Gaza; Ascolon was stille, and the remenauntis of the valei of tho.
47:6Hou longe schalt thou falle doun, O! swerd of the Lord, hou long schalt thou not reste? Entre thou in to thi schethe, be thou refreischid, and be stille.
47:7Hou schal it reste, whanne the Lord comaundide to it ayens Ascalon, and ayens the see coostis therof, and there hath seide to it?

47:1These are the wordes, that the LORDE spake vnto Ieremy the prophet agaynst the Phylistines, before that Pharao smote the cite off Gaza.
47:2Thus saieth the LORDE: Beholde, there shall waters arise out off the north: and shall growe to a greate floude, runnynge ouer and couerynge the londe, the cities and them that dwell therin. And the men shall crie, and all they that dwell in the londe, shall mourne
47:3at the noyse and stampynge off their stronge barded horses, at the shakynge off their charettes, and at the romblinge off the wheles. The fathers shall not loke to their children, so feable and weery shall their hondes be:
47:4at the same tyme, when he shal be there, to destroye the whole londe off the Phylistynes. He shall make waist both Tirus, Sidon ad all other that are sworne vnto them. For the LORDE will destroye all Palestina, and the other Iles, that be deuyded fro the countre.
47:5Baldnesse is come vpon Gaza, Ascalon with hir other valleys shall kepe hir peace. How longe wilt thou slaye,
47:6O thou swearde off the LORDE? Turne agayne in to ye sheeth, reste, and leaue off.
47:7But how can it ceasse, when the LORDE himselff hath geuen it a charge agaynst Ascalon, and raysed it vp agaynst the cities off the see coast?
