Ezekiel - Chapter: 24

>
24:1Againe in the ninth yeere, in the tenth moneth, in the tenth day of the moneth, the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying;
24:2Sonne of man, Write thee the name of the day, euen of this same day: the king of Babylon set himselfe against Ierusalem this same day.
24:3And vtter a parable vnto the rebellious house, and say vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord God, Set on a pot, set it on, and also powre water into it.
24:4Gather the pieces thereof into it, euen euery good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.
24:5Take the choice of the flocke, and burne also the bones vnder it, and make it boyle well, and let him seethe the bones of it therein.
24:6Wherefore thus sayth the Lord God, Woe to the bloodie citie, to the pot whose scumme is therein, and whose scumme is not gone out of it; bring it out piece by piece, let no lot fall vpon it.
24:7For her blood is in the middest of her: she set it vpon the toppe of a rocke, she powred it vpon the ground to couer it with dust:
24:8That it might cause furie to come vp to take vengeance: I haue set her blood vpon the top of a rocke, that it should not be couered.
24:9Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the bloody citie, I will euen make the pile for fire, great.
24:10Heape on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burnt.
24:11Then set it empty vpon the coales thereof, that the brasse of it may be hot and may burne, and that the filthinesse of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.
24:12She hath wearied herselfe with lies, and her great scumme went not forth out of her: her scumme shall be in the fire.
24:13In thy filthinesse is lewdnesse, because I haue purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthinesse any more, till I haue caused my fury to rest vpon thee.
24:14I the Lord haue spoken it, it shall come to passe, and I will doe it, I will not goe backe, neither will I spare, neither will I repent, according to thy wayes and according to thy doings, shall they iudge thee, saith the Lord God.
24:15Also the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying;
24:16Sonne of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourne, nor weepe, neither shall thy teares runne downe.
24:17Forbeare to crie, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head vpon thee, and put on thy shooes vpon thy feete, and couer not thy lips, and eate not the bread of men.
24:18So I spake vnto the people in the morning, and at euen my wife died, and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
24:19And the people said vnto me; Wilt thou not tell vs what these things are to vs, that thou doest so?
24:20Then I answered them, The word of the Lord came vnto me, saying;
24:21Speake vnto the house of Israel; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will prophane my sanctuarie, the excellencie of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soule pitieth; and your sonnes and your daughters, whom yee haue left, shall fall by the sword.
24:22And yee shall doe as I haue done: yee shall not couer your lips, nor eate the bread of men.
24:23And your tires shall be vpon your heads, and your shooes vpon your feet: yee shall not mourne nor weepe, but yee shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourne one towards an other.
24:24Thus Ezekiel is vnto you a signe: according to all that he hath done, shall yee doe: and when this commeth, yee shall know that I am the Lord God.
24:25Also thou sonne of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the ioy of their glorie, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sonnes and their daughters;
24:26That he that escapeth in that day, shall come vnto thee, to cause thee to heare it with thine eares?
24:27In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speake & be no more dumbe, and thou shalt be a signe vnto them, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

24:1In the ninth yere, in the tenth moneth, the tenth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lorde vnto me, saying
24:2O thou sonne of man, write the name of this day, yea euen of this present day: for the kyng of Babylon set hym selfe agaynst Hierusalem this selfe same day
24:3Shewe the rebellious house a parable, and speake vnto them, thus saith the Lorde God: Prepare a pot, set it on, and powre water into it
24:4Gather the peeces therof into it, euery good peece, the thygh and the shoulder, & fyll it with the chiefe bones
24:5Take one of the best sheepe, & a heape of bones vnder it: let it boyle well, and let the bones therof seeth well therin
24:6With that sayde the Lorde God on this maner, Wo vnto the blooddy citie, to the pot whose scumme is therin, & whose scumme is not gone out of it: bryng it out peece by peece, let no lot fall vpon it
24:7For her blood is yet in it, vpon a hygh drye stone hath she powred it: and not vpon the grounde, that it myght be couered with dust
24:8That it might cause wrath to arise, and take vengeaunce: I haue set her blood vpon a high drye rocke, that it shoulde not be couered
24:9Wherefore thus sayth the Lorde God: O wo be vnto the bloodthirstie citie, for whom euen I my selfe wil make a great fire
24:10And set much wood, and kindle the fire, and seeth the fleshe, & spice the pot, so that the very bones shalbe brent
24:11Moreouer, I will set the pot emptie vpo the coales, so that the brasse thereof may be hot and burnt, and the filthynesse of it may be molten in it, and the scum of it shalbe consumed
24:12She hath weeried her selfe with labour, yet her great scum is not gone of her, in the fire her scum [must be consumed.
24:13In thy filthynesse is wickednesse: because I would haue purged thee, and thou wast not purged, from thy filthynesse thou shalt not be purged any more, till I haue caused myne indignation to rest in thee
24:14Euen I the Lorde haue spoken it: yea it is come therto all redy that I will do it, I will not go backe, I will not spare, I will not repent: but according to thy wayes and imaginations shall they iudge thee, sayth the Lorde God
24:15And the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying
24:16Thou sonne of man, behold I wil take away from thee the pleasure of thyne eyes with a plague, yet shalt thou neither mourne nor weepe, neither shal thy teares run downe
24:17Mourne in scilens, make no mourning of the dead, bynde the tyre of thy head vpon thee, and put on thy shoes vpon thy feete, couer not thy lippes, and eate no mans bread
24:18So I spake vnto the people betymes in the morning, & at euen my wife dyed: then vpon the next morowe I dyd as I was commaunded
24:19And the people sayd vnto me: Wilt thou not tell vs what this signifieth towarde vs, that thou doest so
24:20I aunswered them, The word of the Lorde came vnto me, saying
24:21Tell the house of Israel, thus sayth the Lorde God: Beholde, I will pollute my sanctuarie, euen the glorie of your power, the pleasure of your eyes, and your heartes delite: & your sonnes and daughters whom ye haue left, shall fall through the sworde
24:22Like as I haue done, so shall ye do also: ye shall not couer your lippes, ye shall eate no mans bread
24:23And your tire shalbe vpon your heades, and your shoes vpon your feete: ye shall neither mourne nor weepe, but ye shall pyne away in your iniquities, & mourne one towardes another
24:24Thus Ezechiel is your shewtoken, according to all that he hath done, ye shall do: when it commeth, then ye shal know that I am the Lorde God
24:25Also thou sonne of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from the their power, the ioy of their honour, the pleasure of their eyes, and the lifting vp of their soules, their sonnes & their daughters
24:26In that day shall come one that is escaped, vnto thee, and bring it to the hearing of [thyne eares
24:27In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, that thou mayst speake & be no more dumbe: yea thou shalt be their shewtoken, that they may knowe how that I am the Lorde

24:1Again in the ninth yeere, in the tenth moneth, in the tenth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord vnto me, saying,
24:2Sonne of man, write thee the name of the day, euen of this same day: for the King of Babel set himselfe against Ierusalem this same day.
24:3Therefore speake a parable vnto the rebellious house, and say vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord God, Prepare a pot, prepare it, and also powre water into it.
24:4Gather the pieces thereof into it, euen euery good piece, as the thigh and the shoulder, and fill it with the chiefe bones.
24:5Take one of the best sheepe, and burne also the bones vnder it, and make it boyle well, and seethe the bones of it therein,
24:6Because the Lord God sayth thus, Woe to the bloody citie, euen to the pot, whose skomme is therein, and whose skomme is not gone out of it: bring it out piece by piece: let no lot fall vpon it.
24:7For her blood is in the middes of her: shee set it vpon an high rocke, and powred it not vpon on the ground to couer it with dust,
24:8That it might cause wrath to arise, and take vengeance: euen I haue set her blood vpon an high rocke that it should not be couered.
24:9Therefore thus saith ye Lord God, Woe to the bloody citie, for I will make ye burning great.
24:10Heape on much wood: kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and cast in spice, and let the bones be burnt.
24:11Then set it emptie vpon the coles thereof, that the brasse of it may be hot, and may burne, and that the filthinesse of it may be molten in it, and that the skomme of it may be consumed.
24:12She hath wearied her selfe with lyes, and her great skomme went not out of her: therefore her skomme shall be consumed with fire.
24:13Thou remainest in thy filthines and wickednes: because I would haue purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthines, till I haue caused my wrath to light vpon thee.
24:14I the Lord haue spoken it: it shall come to passe, and I will doe it: I will not goe backe, neither will I spare, neither will I repent: according to thy wayes, and according to thy workes shall they iudge thee, sayeth the Lord God.
24:15Also the worde of ye Lord came vnto me, saying,
24:16Sonne of man beholde, I take away from thee the pleasure of thine eyes with a plague: yet shalt thou neither mourne nor weepe, neither shall thy teares runne downe.
24:17Cease from sighing: make no mourning for the dead, and binde the tyre of thine head vpon thee, and put on thy shooes vpon thy feete, and couer not thy lips, and eate not the bread of men.
24:18So I spake vnto the people in the morning, and at euen my wife dyed: and I did in the morning, as I was commanded.
24:19And the people said vnto me, Wilt thou not tell vs what these things meane towarde vs that thou doest so?
24:20Then I answered them, The worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
24:21Speake vnto the house of Israel, Thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, I will pollute my Sanctuarie, euen the pride of your power, the pleasure of your eyes, and your hearts desire, and your sonnes, and your daughters whom ye haue left, shall fall by the sworde.
24:22And ye shall doe as I haue done: ye shall not couer your lippes, neither shall ye eate the bread of men.
24:23And your tyre shalbe vpon your heads, and your shooes vpon your feete: ye shall not mourne nor weepe, but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourne one toward another.
24:24Thus Ezekiel is vnto you a signe: according to all that he hath done, ye shall do: and when this commeth, ye shall know that I am the Lord God.
24:25Also, thou sonne of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their power, ye ioy of their honor, ye pleasure of their eyes, and the desire of their heart, their sonnes and their daughters?
24:26That he that escapeth in that day, shall come vnto thee to tell thee that which hee hath heard with his eares?
24:27In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speake, and be no more dumme, and thou shalt be a signe vnto them, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord.
