| 6:1 | Wo `to' those secure in Zion, And those confident in the mount of Samaria, The marked of the chief of the nations, And come to them have the house of Israel. |
| 6:2 | Pass ye over `to' Calneh and see, And go thence `to' Hamath the great, And go down `to' Gath of the Philistines, Are `they' better than these kingdoms? Greater `is' their border than your border? |
| 6:3 | Who are putting away the day of evil, And ye bring nigh the seat of violence, |
| 6:4 | Who are lying down on beds of ivory, And are spread out on their couches, And are eating lambs from the flock, And calves from the midst of the stall, |
| 6:5 | Who are taking part according to the psaltery, Like David they invented for themselves instruments of music; |
| 6:6 | Who are drinking with bowls of wine, And `with' chief perfumes anoint `themselves', And have not been pained for the breach of Joseph. |
| 6:7 | Therefore now they remove at the head of the captives, And turned aside is the mourning-feast of stretched-out ones. |
| 6:8 | Sworn hath the Lord Jehovah by Himself, An affirmation of Jehovah, God of Hosts: I am abominating the excellency of Jacob, And his high places I have hated, And I have delivered up the city and its fulness. |
| 6:9 | And if there are left ten persons in one house, It hath come to pass -- that they have died. |
| 6:10 | And lifted him up hath his loved one, even his burner, To bring forth the bones from the house, And he said to him who `is' in the sides of the house, `Is there yet with thee?' And he said, `None,' then he said, `Hush! Save to make mention of the name of Jehovah.' |
| 6:11 | For lo, Jehovah is commanding, And He hath smitten the great house `with' breaches, And the little house `with' clefts. |
| 6:12 | Do horses run on a rock? Doth one plough `it' with oxen? For ye have turned to gall judgment, And the fruit of righteousness to wormwood. |
| 6:13 | O ye who are rejoicing at nothing, Who are saying, `Have we not by our strength taken to ourselves horns?' |
| 6:14 | Surely, lo, I am raising against you a nation, O house of Israel, An affirmation of Jehovah, God of Hosts, And they have oppressed you from the coming in to Hamath, Unto the stream of the desert. |

| 6:1 | Wo be to the proude welthy in Sio, to soch as thinke the so sure vpon ye mount of Samaria? which holde them selues for the best of the worlde, and rule the house of Israel, eue as they list. |
| 6:2 | Go vnto Calne, and se: and from thence get you to Hemath the greate cite, and so go downe to Gath of the Philistines: be they better at ease then these kyngdomes, or the border of their londe wyder then yours? |

| 6:4 | Ye that lye vpon beddes off yuery, and vse youre wantonnesse vpon youre couches: ye that eate the best lambes of ye flocke, and the fattest calues off the droaue: |
| 6:5 | ye that synge to the lute, and in playenge off instrumentes compare youre selues vnto Dauid: |
| 6:6 | ye that drynke wyne out of goblettes, & anoynte youre selues with the best oyle, but no man is sory for Ioseps hurte. |
| 6:7 | Therfore now shall ye be the first of them, that shal be led awaye captyue, and the lusty chere of the wylfull shall come to an ende. |
| 6:8 | The LORDE God hath sworne euen by himself (sayeth the LORDE God of hoostes:) I hate the pryde of Iacob, and I abhorre his palaces: and I wil geue ouer the cite, wt all that is therin: |
| 6:9 | so that though there remayne ten men in one house, they shal dye. |
| 6:10 | So their nexte kyn?folckes and the deed buriers shall take them, and cary awaye their bones, and saye vnto him, that is in the ynnermer house: is there yet eny mo by ye? And he shal answere: they are all gone, holde thy tunge (shall he saye) for they wolde not remembre the name of the LORDE. |
| 6:11 | Beholde, the LORDE is mynded to smyte the greate houses, so that they shall decaye: ad the litle houses, that they shall cleue a sunder. |
| 6:12 | Who can runne with horses, or plowe wt oxen vpon the harde rockes off stone? For why, ye haue turned true iudgment in to bytternesse, and the frute of rightuousnesse in to wormwod: |
| 6:13 | Yee euen ye, that reioyse in vayne thynges: ye that saye: haue not we optayned hornes in oure owne strength? |
| 6:14 | Well, take hede, o ye house off Israel, sayeth the LORDE God of hoostes: I wil brynge a people vpo you, which shall trouble you, from the waye that goeth towarde Hemath, vnto the broke in the medowe. |
