Micah - Chapter: 2

>
2:1Woe to them that deuise iniquitie, and worke euill vpon their beds: when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
2:2And they couet fields and take them by violence: and houses, and take them away: so they oppresse a man and his house, euen a man and his heritage.
2:3Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, against this familie doe I deuise an euill, from which ye shall not remoue your necks, neither shall ye goe haughtily: for this time is euill.
2:4In that day shall one take vp a parable against you, and lament with a dolefull lamentation, and say, We be vtterly spoiled: hee hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he remoued it from me? turning away hee hath diuided our fields.
2:5Therefore thou shalt haue none that shall cast a cord by lot in the Congregation of the Lord.
2:6Prophecie ye not, say they, to them that prophecie: they shall not prophecie to them, that they shall not take shame.
2:7O thou that art named the house of Iacob, is the Spirit of the Lord straitned? are these his dongs? doe not my words do good to him that walketh vprightly?
2:8Euen of late, my people is risen vp as an enemie: ye pull off the robe with the garment, fro them that passe by securely, as men auerse from warre.
2:9The women of my people haue ye cast out from their pleasant houses, from their children haue ye taken away my glory for euer.
2:10Arise ye and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you euen with a sore destruction.
2:11If a man walking in the spirit and falshood, doe lie, saying, I will prophecie vnto thee of wine and of strong drinke, he shall euen bee the prophet of this people.
2:12I will surely assemble, O Iacob, all of thee: I will surely gather the remnant of Israel, I will put them together as the sheepe of Bozrah, as the flocke in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
2:13The breaker is come vp before them: they haue broken vp and haue passed through the gate, and are gone out by it, and their king shal passe before them, & the Lord on the head of them.

2:1Woe vnto them, that imagine iniquitie, and worke wickednesse vpon their beddes: when the morning is light they practise it because their hande hath power.
2:2And they couet fields, and take them by violence, and houses, and take them away: so they oppresse a man and his house, euen man and his heritage.
2:3Therefore thus saieth the Lord, Beholde, against this familie haue I deuised a plague, whereout yee shall not plucke your neckes, and ye shall not go so proudly, for this time is euill.
2:4In that daye shall they take vp a parable against you, and lament with a dolefull lamentation, and say, We be vtterly wasted: hee hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he taken it away to restore it vnto mee? he hath deuided our fieldes.
2:5Therefore thou shalt haue none that shall cast a corde by lot in the Congregation of the Lord.
2:6They that prophecied, Prophecie ye not. They shall not prophecie to them, neither shall they take shame.
2:7O thou that art named of the house of Iaakob, is the Spirite of the Lord shortened? are these his workes? are not my wordes good vnto him that walketh vprightly?
2:8But hee that was yesterday my people, is risen vp on the other side, as against an enemie: they spoyle the beautifull garment from them that passe by peaceably, as though they returned from the warre.
2:9The women of my people haue ye cast out from their pleasant houses, and from their childre haue ye taken away my glorie continually.
2:10Arise and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, euen with a sore destruction.
2:11If a man walke in the Spirit, and would lie falsely, saying, I wil prophecie vnto thee of wine, and of strong drinke, he shall euen be the prophet of this people.
2:12I will surely gather thee wholy, O Iaakob: I will surely gather the remnant of Israel: I will put them together as the sheepe of Bozrah, euen as the flocke in the mids of their folde: the cities shall be full of brute of the men.
2:13The breaker vp shall come vp before them: they shall breake out, and passe by the gate, and goe out by it, and their King shall goe before them, and the Lord shalbe vpon their heades.

2:1O wo vnto them, that Imagyn to do herme, and deuyse vngracyousnesse vpon theyr beddes, to perfourme it in the cleare daye: for ther power is agaynst God.
2:2When they couet to haue lande, they take it by vyolence, they robbe men of theyr houses. Thus they oppresse a man for his house & euery man for his herytage.
2:3Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde: Beholde agaynst thys housshold haue I deuysed a plage, wherout ye shall not plucke your neckes: Ye shall nomore go so proudly, for it wyll be a perlous tyme.
2:4In that daye shal thys terme be vsed and a mournynge shalbe made ouer you on thys maner: We be vtterly desolate the porcyon of my people is translated. Whan will he parte vnto vs the laude, that he hath taken from vs?
2:5Neuertheles there shalbe noman to deuyde the thy porcyon in the congregacyon of the Lorde.
2:6Tush, holde your tunge (saye they) It shall not fall vpon thys people, we shall not come so to confusyon,
2:7sayeth the house of Iacob. Is the sprete of the Lorde so cleane awaye? or is he so minded? Treuth it is, my wordes are frendly vnto them that lyue ryght:
2:8but my people doth the contrary, therfore must I take parte agaynst them: for they take awaye both cote and cloke from the symple. Ye haue turned youre selues to fyght,
2:9the wemen of my people haue ye shut out from their good houses, & taken awaye my excellent gyftes from theyr children.
2:10Up, get you hence, for here shall ye haue no rest. Because of theyr Idolatrye they are corrupte, & shal myserably perysh.
2:11If I were a fleshly felowe, & a preacher of lyes, and tolde them that they myght syt bybbynge & bollyng, & be droncken. O that were a Prophete for thys people,
2:12But I will gather the in dede, O Iacob, & dryue the remnaunt of Israell all together. I shal cary them one with another, as a flocke in the folde, and as the catell in theyr stalles, that they maye be dysquyeted of other men.
2:13Who so breaketh the gappe, he shall go before. They shall breake vp the porte, & go in & out at it. The Kynge shall go before them, and the Lorde shalbe vpon the head of them.
