| 3:1 | And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment? |
| 3:2 | Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; |
| 3:3 | Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. |
| 3:4 | Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. |
| 3:5 | Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. |
| 3:6 | Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. |
| 3:7 | Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. |
| 3:8 | But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. |
| 3:9 | Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. |
| 3:10 | They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. |
| 3:11 | The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. |
| 3:12 | Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. |
| 3:1 | ואמר שׁמעו נא ראשׁי יעקב וקציני בית ישׂראל הלוא לכם לדעת את המשׁפט׃ |
| 3:2 | שׂנאי טוב ואהבי רעה גזלי עורם מעליהם ושׁארם מעל עצמותם׃ |
| 3:3 | ואשׁר אכלו שׁאר עמי ועורם מעליהם הפשׁיטו ואת עצמתיהם פצחו ופרשׂו כאשׁר בסיר וכבשׂר בתוך קלחת׃ |
| 3:4 | אז יזעקו אל יהוה ולא יענה אותם ויסתר פניו מהם בעת ההיא כאשׁר הרעו מעלליהם׃ |
| 3:5 | כה אמר יהוה על הנביאים המתעים את עמי הנשׁכים בשׁניהם וקראו שׁלום ואשׁר לא יתן על פיהם וקדשׁו עליו מלחמה׃ |
| 3:6 | לכן לילה לכם מחזון וחשׁכה לכם מקסם ובאה השׁמשׁ על הנביאים וקדר עליהם היום׃ |
| 3:7 | ובשׁו החזים וחפרו הקסמים ועטו על שׂפם כלם כי אין מענה אלהים׃ |
| 3:8 | ואולם אנכי מלאתי כח את רוח יהוה ומשׁפט וגבורה להגיד ליעקב פשׁעו ולישׂראל חטאתו׃ |
| 3:9 | שׁמעו נא זאת ראשׁי בית יעקב וקציני בית ישׂראל המתעבים משׁפט ואת כל הישׁרה יעקשׁו׃ |
| 3:10 | בנה ציון בדמים וירושׁלם בעולה׃ |
| 3:11 | ראשׁיה בשׁחד ישׁפטו וכהניה במחיר יורו ונביאיה בכסף יקסמו ועל יהוה ישׁענו לאמר הלוא יהוה בקרבנו לא תבוא עלינו רעה׃ |
| 3:12 | לכן בגללכם ציון שׂדה תחרשׁ וירושׁלם עיין תהיה והר הבית לבמות יער׃ |

| 3:2 | Ye who are hating good, and loving evil, Taking violently their skin from off them, And their flesh from off their bones, |
| 3:3 | And who have eaten the flesh of My people, And their skin from off them have stript, And their bones they have broken, And they have spread `them' out as in a pot, And as flesh in the midst of a caldron. |
| 3:4 | Then do they cry unto Jehovah, And He doth not answer them, And hideth His face from them at that time, As they have made evil their doings. |
| 3:5 | Thus said Jehovah concerning the prophets Who are causing My people to err, Who are biting with their teeth, And have cried `Peace,' And he who doth not give unto their mouth, They have sanctified against him war. |
| 3:6 | Therefore a night ye have without vision, And darkness ye have without divination, And gone in hath the sun on the prophets, And black over them hath been the day. |
| 3:7 | And ashamed have been the seers, And confounded have been the diviners, And covered their lip have all of them, For their is no answer, O God. |
| 3:8 | And yet I have been full of power by the Spirit of Jehovah, And of judgment, and of might, To declare to Jacob his transgression, And to Israel his sin. |
| 3:9 | Hear this, I pray you, heads of the house of Jacob, And ye judges of the house of Israel, Who are making judgment abominable, And all uprightness do pervert. |
| 3:10 | Building up Zion with blood, And Jerusalem with iniquity. |
| 3:11 | Her heads for a bribe do judge, And her priests for hire do teach, And her prophets for silver divine, And on Jehovah they lean, saying, `Is not Jehovah in our midst? Evil doth not come in upon us.' |
| 3:12 | Therefore, for your sake, Zion is ploughed a field, and Jerusalem is heaps, And the mount of the house `is' for high places of a forest! |
