5:1	When he sawe the people, he went vp into a mountaine, and when he was set his disciples came to him,
5:2	and he opened his mouth, and taught them sayinge,
5:3	blessed are the pore in sprete: for theirs is the kingdom of heauen.
5:4	Blessed are they that morne, for they shalbe comforted.
5:5	Blessed are the meke: for they shall inheret the earth.
5:6	Blessed are they which honger & thurste for rightuousnes: for they shalbe filled.
5:7	Blessed are the mercifull: for they shal obtaine mercy.
5:8	Blessed are the pure in hert: for thei shal se God.
5:9	Blessed are the peace makers: for thei shalbe called the children of God.
5:10	Blessed are they which suffer persecucion for rightuousnesse sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heauen:
5:11	Blessed are ye when men reuile you and persecute you, and shal falsely say al maner of yuel sayinges against you for my sake.
5:12	Reioyce & be glad, for great is your reward in heauen. For so persecuted they the prophetes which were before your dayes.
5:13	Ye are the salt of the earth: but & if the salt haue lost her saltnes, what can be salted therwith? It is thensforth good for nothinge, but to be cast out, and to be troden vnder fote of men.
5:14	Ye are the light of the worlde. A cytye that is set on an hill, can not be hid,
5:15	neither do men light a candell & put it vnder a bushell, but on a candelsticke, and it lighteth al that are in the house.
5:16	Let your light so shyne before men that they maye se your good workes, and gloryfye your father which is in heauen.
5:17	Thinke not that I am come to destroy the lawe, or the prophetes: no I am not come to destroy them, but to fulfil them.
5:18	For truly I say vnto you, til heauen & earth perish, one iote or one title of the lawe shal not escape, til al be fulfilled
5:19	Whosoeuer therfore breaketh one of these lest commaundementes, & teacheth men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdome of heauen. But whosoeuer obserueth & teacheth, the same shal be called great in the kingdom of heauen.
5:20	For I say vnto you except your rightuousnes excede, the rightuousnes of the scribes & phariseis, ye can not entre into the kingdom of heauen.
5:21	Ye haue heard howe it was said vnto them of the olde time: Thou shalt not kil. For whosoeuer killeth, shal be in daunger of iudgement,
5:22	but I sai vnto yow, whosoeuer is angre wt his brother without a cause shal be in daunger of iudgement. Whosoeuer saieth to his brother Racha, shalbe in daunger of a counsel. But whosoeuer saieth thou fole, shalbe in daunger of hel fire
5:23	Therefore when thou offrest thy gift at the altare, & their remembrest that thy brother hath ought against the:
5:24	leue there thy offringe before the altare, & go thy way first & be reconciled to thy brother, & then come and offre thy gift.
5:25	Agre with thine aduersary quickly, whiles thou art in the way wt him, lest the aduersary deliuer the to the iudge, & the iudge deliuer the to the minister, & then thou be cast into prison.
5:26	I say vnto the verely: thou shalt not come out thence tyl thou haue payed the vttermost farthing.
5:27	Ye haue heard how it was sayed to them of olde time: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
5:28	But I saye vnto you, that whosoeuer loketh on a wife, lustinge after her, hath committed adulterye with her alredy in his herte
5:29	Wherfore if thy ryght eye offende the plucke him out, & cast him from the. Better it is for the that one of thy members perishe, then that thy whol body should be cast into hel.
5:30	Also if thy right hand offende the, cut him of & cast him from the. Better it is that one of thy members perish, then that all thy body should be cast into hel.
5:31	It is sayed, whosoeuer putteth a way his wife, let him geue her a testimonial of the deuorcement.
5:32	But I sai vnto you: whosoeuer putteth away his wife (except it be for fornicacion) causeth her to breke matrimony. And whosoeuer marieth her that is deuorced, breaketh wedlocke.
5:33	Agayne ye haue hearde how it was sayed to them of olde time, thou shalt not forsweare thy self, but shalt performe thine othe to God.
5:34	But I saye vnto you, swere not at al, neither by heauen, for it is Goddes seate:
5:35	nor yet by the earth, for it is his fotstole: neither by Ierusalem for it is the citye of the great kinge
5:36	neither shalt thou sweare by thy head, because thou canst not make one whyte hear, or blacke.
5:37	But your communicacion shalbe, yea, yea: nay, nay. For whatsoeuer is more than that cometh to euell.
5:38	Ye haue hearde how it is sayed, an eye for an eye: a tothe for a tothe.
5:39	But I saye to you that ye resyst not wrong. But who soeuer geue the a blowe on the right cheke, tourne to hym the other.
5:40	And if anye man wyll sue the at the lawe, and take awaye thy coote, let hym haue thy clooke also.
5:41	And whosoeuer wyll compell the to goo a myle, goo with hym twaine.
5:42	Geue to hym that axeth, & from him that woulde borow tourne not away.
5:43	Ye haue hearde how it is said: thou shalt loue thy neighbour, and hate thyne enemy.
5:44	But I say vnto you loue your enemies. Blesse theim that cursse you. Do good to them that hate you. Pray for them which doo you wronge and persecute you,
5:45	that ye may be the chyldren of youre father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sonne to aryse on the yuyll, and on the good and sendeth his raine on the iust and vniust.
5:46	For if ye loue them, whiche loue you: what rewarde shall ye haue? Doo not the publicanes euen so?
5:47	And if ye be frendly to your brethren only what synguler thinge doo ye? Do not the publycanes likewyses?
5:48	Ye shall therfore be perfect, euen as your father which is in heauen, is perfect.

5:19	Whosoeuer therfore breaketh one of these leest commaundementes, and teacheth men so, he shalbe called the leest in the kyngdome of heauen. But whosoeuer doeth and teacheth, the same shalbe called greate in the kyngdome of heauen.
5:20	For I saye vnto you: except your righteousnesse exceade the ryghteousnesse of the Scribes and Pharises, ye cannot entre into the kyngdome of heauen.
5:21	Ye haue heard that it was sayd vnto them of the olde tyme. Thou shalt no kyll: whosoeuer killeth, shalbe in daunger of iudgement.
5:22	But I say vnto you: that whosoeuer is angrye with hys brother (vnaduysedly) shalbe in daunger of iudgement. And whosoeuer saye vnto hys brother Racha, shalbe in daunger of a councell. But whosoeuer sayeth thou foole, shalbe in daunger of hell fyre.
5:23	Therfore, yf thou offrest thy gyfte at the aulter, and there remembrest that thy brother hath ought agaynst the:
5:24	leaue ther thyne offringe before the aulter & go thy waye fyrst, and be reconcyled to thy brother, and then come, and offre thy gyfte.
5:25	Agree with thyne aduersary quycklye whyles thou art in the waye with him, lest at any tyme the aduersary deliuer the to the iudge, and the iudge delyuer the to the mynister, and then thou be cast into preson.
5:26	Uerely, I say vnto the: thou shalt not come out thence, tyll thou haue payed the vtmost farthynge.
5:27	Ye haue herde that it was sayd vnto them of olde tyme. Thou shall no committ aduoutrye.
5:28	But I say vnto you that whosoeuer loketh on another mans wyfe to lust after her, hath commytted aduoutrye with her all ready in hys hert.
5:29	Yf thy ryght eye hynder the, plucke hym out, and cast hym from the. For better it is vnto the, that one of thy membres perysshe, then that thy whole body shuld be cast into hell.
5:30	And yf thy ryght hande hynder the, cutt hym of, and cast hym from the. For better it is vnto the, that one of thy membres perysshe, then that all thy body shulde be cast into hell.
5:31	It is sayd, whosoeuer putteth awaye his wyfe, lett hym geue her a letter of the deuorcement.
5:32	But I say vnto you: that whosoeuer doth put awaye his wyfe (excepte it be for fornycacyon) causeth her to breake matrymony. And whosoeuer maryeth her that is deuorsed commiteth aduoutrye.
5:33	Agayne, ye haue hearde how it was sayd to them of olde tyme: thou shalt not forsweare thy selfe, but shalt perfourme vnto the Lorde those thinges that thou swearest.
5:34	But I say vnto you: sweare not at all: nether by heauen, for it is Goddes seate,
5:35	nor by the earth, for it is his fote stole: nether by Ierusalem, for it is the cytie of the great king:
5:36	nether shalt thou sweare by thy heed, because thou canst not make one heare whyte or blacke.

5:44	But I saye vnto you: loue your enemyes. Blesse them that curse you. Do good to them that hate you. Praye for them which hurt you and persecute you,
5:45	that ye maye be the children of your father which is in heauen: for he maketh his sonne to aryse on the euell, & on the good, & sendeth rayne on the iust & on the vniust.
5:46	For yf ye loue them which loue you: what reward haue ye? Do not the publycans also euen the same?
5:47	And yf ye make moche of your brethren only, what singuler thinge do ye? Do not also the publicans lykewise?
5:48	ye shall therfore be perfecte, euen as your father which is in heauen is perfecte.

5:32	But I say vnto you, whosoeuer shall put away his wife (except it be for fornication) causeth her to commit adulterie: and whosoeuer shall marrie her that is diuorced, committeth adulterie.
5:33	Againe, ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of old time, Thou shalt not forsweare thy selfe, but shalt performe thine othes to the Lord.
5:34	But I say vnto you, Sweare not at all, neither by heauen, for it is the throne of God:
5:35	Nor yet by the earth: for it is his footestoole: neither by Hierusalem: for it is the citie of the great King.
5:36	Neither shalt thou sweare by thine head, because thou canst not make one heare white or blacke.
5:37	But let your communication be Yea, yea: Nay, nay. For whatsoeuer is more then these, commeth of euill.

5:47	And if ye be friendly to your brethren onely, what singular thing doe ye? doe not euen the Publicanes likewise?
5:48	Ye shall therefore be perfit, as your Father which is in heauen, is perfite.
