11:1	And it came to passe when Iesus had made an ende of commaundinge his .xij. disciples, he departed thence to teache and to preache in their cityes.
11:2	When Iohn beinge in prison hearde the workes of Christe, he sent two of his discyples
11:3	and sayd vnto him. Art thou he that shal come: or shall we loke for another.
11:4	Iesus anuswered and saide vnto them. Go and shewe Ihon what ye haue hearde & sene.
11:5	The blinde se, the halt go, the lepers are clensed: the deaf heare, the dead ryse againe, and the glade tydinges is preached to the poore.
11:6	And happye is he that is not offended by me.
11:7	And as thei departed Iesus began to speake vnto the people of Iohn. What thing went ye out into the wildernes to se? wente ye out to se a rede shaken with the winde?
11:8	other what wente ye out for to se? A man clothed in soft rayment? Beholde they that weare softe clothed, are in kinges houses.
11:9	But what went ye out for to se? A prophete. Yea, I say vnto you, and more then a prophete.
11:10	For this is he of whom it is written. Beholde, I sende my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before the.
11:11	Verely I say vnto you, amonge the children of women arose ther not a greater then Iohn the Baptist. Notwithstandinge he that is lesse in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.
11:12	From the tyme of Iohn Baptiste hitherto, the kingdome of heauen suffreth violence, and they that go to it with violence plucke it vnto them.
11:13	For all the prophetes and the lawe prophecyed vnto the tyme of Iohn.
11:14	And if ye wyll receyue it, this is that Helias which shoulde come.
11:15	He that hath eares to heare let hym heare.
11:16	But wherunto shal I lyke this generacion? It is lyke vnto children which syt in the market and call vnto their felowes,
11:17	and saye we haue pyped vnto you, & ye haue not daunced? We haue morned vnto you, and ye haue not sorowed.
11:18	For Iohn came neyther eatynge nor drinkinge, and they say, he hath the deuyl.
11:19	The sonne of man came eatinge and drynking, and they saye, beholde a glutton and drinker of wine, and a frende vnto publicans and synners. Neuerthelater wysdome is iustifyed of her children.
11:20	Then began he to vpbrayd the cytyes, in which most of his miracles were done, because they mended not.
11:21	Wo be to the Chorasin. Wo be to the Bethzaida: for if the miracles which were shewed in you, had be done in Tyre and Sidon, they had repented longe agone in sackcloth and ashes.
11:22	Neuerthelesse I saye to you: it shall be easier for Tyre and Sydon at the daye of iudgement, then for you.
11:23	And thou Capernaum, which art lyft vp vnto heauen, shall be brought doune to hell. For if the miracles which haue bene done in the, had be shewed in Zodome: they had remayned to this daye.
11:24	Neuerthelesse I saye vnto you: it shall be easyer for the lande of Zodom in the daye of iudgement, then for the.
11:25	At that time Iesus aunswered and said: I prayse the, O father Lorde of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these thinges from the wyse and prudent, and hast opened theim vnto babes:
11:26	euen so father, for so it pleased the.
11:27	All thinges are geuen vnto me of my father. And no man knoweth the sonne but the father: neyther knoweth anye man the father, saue the sonne, and he to whom the sonne wyl open hym.
11:28	Come vnto me all ye that labour and are laden and I wyll ease you.
11:29	Take my yocke on you and learne of me, for I am meke and lowly in herte: and ye shall fynde reste vnto your soules.
11:30	For my yocke is easy: and my burden is lyght.

11:7	And as they departed, Iesus beganne to saye vnto the people concerning Iohn. What went ye out into the wyldernes to se? A rede that is shaken with the wynde?
11:8	Or what went ye out for to se? A man clothed in softe rayment? Beholde: they that weare softe clothing: are in kinges houses.
11:9	But what went ye out for to se? A prophete: Uerely I saye vnto you: and more then a Prophete.
11:10	For this is he, of whom it is wrytten. Beholde, I sende my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy waye before the.
11:11	Uerely I saye vnto you: amonge them that are borne of wemen, arose not a greater then Iohn the Baptist. Not withstandinge he that is lesse: in the Kyngdome of heauen is gretter then he.
11:12	From the dayes of Iohn Baptist vntill this daye, the kyngedom of heuen suffreth violence, and the violent plucke it vnto them.
11:13	For all the prophetes, and the lawe it selfe prophesied vnto Iohn.
11:14	And yf ye wyll receaue it this is Helias, which was for to come.
11:15	He that hath eares to heare: let hym heare.
11:16	But wher vnto shall I lyken thys generacion? It is like vnto chyldren, which syt in the market places, and call vnto their felowes,
11:17	and saye: we haue pyped vnto you, and ye haue not daunsed: We haue mourned vnto you & ye haue not sorowed.
11:18	For Iohn came nether eatynge nor drynkynge, & they saye, he hath the deuyll.
11:19	The sonne of man came eatyng and drynckyng, and they saye, beholde a glutton, & an vnmeasurable dryncker of wyne: and a frende vnto publicans and synners. And wisdome is iustifyed of her chyldren.
11:20	Then began he to vpbrayd the cyties which most of hys miracles were done in, because they repented not of their synnes.
11:21	Wo vnto the Chorasin: Wo vnto the Bethsaida: for yf the miracles which were shewed in you, had bene done in the cytie of Tyre or Sidon, they had repented of their synnes longe agon in sack cloth and asshes.

11:25	At that tyme Iesus answered and sayde: I thanke the O father, Lord of heauen & erth, because thou hast hid these thinges from the wyse and prudent, and hast shewed them vnto babes,
11:26	verely father, euen so was it thy good pleasure.
11:27	All thinges are geuen ouer vnto me of my father. And noman knoweth the sonne but the father: nether knoweth eny man the father, saue the sonne, and he to whomsoeuer the sonne will open him.
11:28	Come vnto me all ye that laboure: and are laden, and I will ease you.
11:29	Take my yock vpon you, and lerne of me, for I am meke & lowly in herte: and ye shall fynde rest vnto youre soules.
11:30	For my yocke is easy, and my burden is light.

11:6	And blessed is he that shall not be offeded in me.
11:7	And as they departed, Iesus beganne to speake vnto the multitude, of Iohn, What went ye out into the wildernes to see? A reede shaken with the winde?
11:8	But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that weare soft clothing, are in Kings houses.
11:9	But what went ye out to see? A Prophet? Yea, I say vnto you, and more then a Prophet.
11:10	For this is he of whom it is written, Beholde, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
11:11	Verely I say vnto you, among them which are begotten of women, arose there not a greater then Iohn Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is the least in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.
11:12	And from the time of Iohn Baptist hitherto, the kingdome of heauen suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
11:13	For all the Prophetes and the Lawe prophecied vnto Iohn.
11:14	And if ye will receiue it, this is that Elias, which was to come.
11:15	He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.
11:16	But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like vnto litle children which sit in the markets, and call vnto their fellowes,
11:17	And say, We haue piped vnto you, and ye haue not daunced, we haue mourned vnto you, and ye haue not lamented.
11:18	For Iohn came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a deuill.
11:19	The sonne of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Beholde a glutton and a drinker of wine, a friend vnto Publicanes and sinners: but wisedome is iustified of her children.
11:20	Then began he to vpbraide the cities, wherein most of his great workes were done, because they repented not.
11:21	Woe be to thee, Chorazin: Woe be to thee, Bethsaida: for if ye great workes, which were done in you, had bene done in Tyrus and Sidon, they had repented long agone in sackecloth and ashes.
11:22	But I say to you, It shalbe easier for Tyrus and Sidon at the day of iudgement, then for you.
11:23	And thou, Capernaum, which art lifted vp vnto heauen, shalt be brought downe to hell: for if the great workes, which haue bin done in thee, had bene done among them of Sodom, they had remained to this day.
11:24	But I say vnto you, that it shall be easier for them of the land of Sodom in the day of iudgement, then for thee.
11:25	At that time Iesus answered, and saide, I giue thee thankes, O Father, Lord of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and men of vnderstanding, and hast opened them vnto babes.
11:26	It is so, O Father, because thy good pleasure was such.
11:27	All things are giuen vnto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Sonne, but ye Father: neither knoweth any man ye Father, but the Sonne, and he to whom ye Sonne will reueile him.
11:28	Come vnto me, all ye that are wearie and laden, and I will ease you.
11:29	Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest vnto your soules.
11:30	For my yoke is easie, and my burden light.
