| 13:1 | The same day went Iesus out of the house, and sate by the sea side. |
| 13:2 | And great multitudes were gathered together vnto him, so that hee went into a ship, and sate, and the whole multitude stood on the shore. |
| 13:3 | And hee spake many things vnto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went foorth to sow. |
| 13:4 | And when he sowed, some seedes fell by the wayes side, and the foules came, and deuoured them vp. |
| 13:5 | Some fell vpon stony places, where they had not much earth: and foorth with they sprung vp, because they had no deepenesse of earth. |
| 13:6 | And when the Sunne was vp, they were scorched: and because they had not root, they withered away. |
| 13:7 | And some fell among thorns: and the thornes sprung vp, & choked them. |
| 13:8 | But other fell into good ground, and brought foorth fruit, some an hundred folde, some sixtie folde, some thirty folde. |
| 13:9 | Who hath eares to heare, let him heare. |
| 13:10 | And the disciples came, and sayd vnto him, Why speakest thou vnto them in parables? |
| 13:11 | He answered, and said vnto them, Because it is giuen vnto you to know the mysteries of the kingdome of heauen, but to them it is not giuen. |
| 13:12 | For whosoeuer hath, to him shall be giuen, and he shall haue more abundance: but whosoeuer hath not, from him shall be taken away, euen that hee hath. |
| 13:13 | Therefore speake I to then in parables: because they seeing, see not: and hearing, they heare not, neither doe they vnderstand. |
| 13:14 | And in them is fulfilled the prophecie of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall heare, and shall not vnderstand: and seeing yee shall see, and shall not perceiue. |
| 13:15 | For this peoples heart is waxed grosse, and their eares are dull of hearing, and their eyes they haue closed, lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and should vnderstand with their heart, and should be conuerted, and I should heale them. |
| 13:16 | But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your eares, for they heare. |
| 13:17 | For verely I say vnto you, that many Prophets, and righteous men haue desired to see those things which yee see, and haue not seene them: and to heare those things which ye heare, and haue not heard them. |
| 13:18 | Heare ye therefore the parable of the sower. |
| 13:19 | When any one heareth the word of the kingdome, and vnderstandeth it not, then commeth the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sowen in his heart: this is hee which receiued seede by the way side. |
| 13:20 | But he that receiued the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, & anon with ioy receiueth it: |
| 13:21 | Yet hath hee not root in himselfe, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. |
| 13:22 | He also that receiued seed among the thorns, is he that heareth the word, and the care of this world, and the deceitfulnesse of riches choke the word, and he becommeth vnfruitfull. |
| 13:23 | But he that receiued seed into the good ground, is hee that heareth the word, and vnderstandeth it, which also beareth fruit, and bringeth foorth, some an hundred fold, some sixtie, some thirty. |
| 13:24 | Another parable put he forth vnto them, saying; The kingdome of heauen is likened vnto a man which sowed good seed in his field: |
| 13:25 | But while men slept, his enemy came & sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. |
| 13:26 | But when the blade was sprung vp, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. |
| 13:27 | So the seruants of the housholder came, and said vnto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seede in thy field? From whence then hath it tares? |
| 13:28 | He said vnto them, An enemy hath done this. The seruants said vnto him, Wilt thou then that we goe and gather them vp? |
| 13:29 | But he said, Nay: lest while yee gather vp the tares, ye root vp also the wheat with them. |
| 13:30 | Let both grow together vntil the haruest: and in the time of haruest, I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and binde them in bundels to burne them: but gather the wheat into my barne. |
| 13:31 | Another parable put he foorth vnto them, saying, The kingdome of heauen is like to a graine of mustard seed, which a man tooke, and sowed in his field. |
| 13:32 | Which indeed is the least of al seeds: but when it is growen, it is the greatest among herbes, and becommeth a tree: so that the birds of the aire come and lodge in the branches thereof. |
| 13:33 | Another parable spake he vnto them, The kingdome of heauen is like vnto leauen, which a woman tooke, and hid in three measures of meale, till the whole was leauened. |
| 13:34 | All these things spake Iesus vnto the multitude in parables, and without a parable spake hee not vnto them: |
| 13:35 | That it might bee fulfilled which was spoken by the Prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables, I wil vtter things which haue bin kept secret from the foundation of the world. |
| 13:36 | Then Iesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came vnto him, saying, Declare vnto vs the parable of the tares of the field. |
| 13:37 | He answered, and said vnto them, Hee that soweth the good seed, is the sonne of man. |
| 13:38 | The field is the world. The good seed, are the children of the kingdome: but the tares are the children of the wicked one. |
| 13:39 | The enemie that sowed them, is the deuill. The haruest, is the ende of the world. And the reapers are the Angels. |
| 13:40 | As therefore the tares are gathered and burnt in the fire: so shall it be in the end of this world. |
| 13:41 | The Sonne of man shall send forth his Angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdome all things that offend, and them which doe iniquitie: |
| 13:42 | And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wayling and gnashing of teeth. |
| 13:43 | Then shall the righteous shine foorth as the Sunne, in the kingdome of their father. Who hath eares to heare, let him heare. |
| 13:44 | Againe, the kingdome of heauen is like vnto treasure hid in a field: the which when a man hath found, hee hideth, and for ioy thereof goeth and selleth all that hee hath, and buyeth that field. |
| 13:45 | Againe, the kingdome of heauen is like vnto a marchant man, seeking goodly pearles: |
| 13:46 | Who when hee had found one pearle of great price, he went and solde all that he had, and bought it. |
| 13:47 | Againe, the kingdome of heauen is like vnto a net that was cast into the sea, and gathered of euery kind, |
| 13:48 | Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sate downe, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. |
| 13:49 | So shall it be at the ende of the world: the Angels shal come forth, and seuer the wicked from among the iust, |
| 13:50 | And shal cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing, and gnashing of teeth. |
| 13:51 | Iesus saith vnto them, Haue ye vnderstood all these things? They say vnto him, Yea, Lord. |
| 13:52 | Then said he vnto them, Therefore euery Scribe which is instructed vnto the kingdom of heauen, is like vnto a man that is an housholder, which bringeth foorth out of his treasure things new and old. |
| 13:53 | And it came to passe, that when Iesus had finished these parables, hee departed thence. |
| 13:54 | And when hee was come into his owne countrey, he taught them in their Synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisedome, and these mighty works? |
| 13:55 | Is not this the Carpenters sonne? Is not his mother called Marie? and his brethren, Iames, and Ioses, and Simon, and Iudas? |
| 13:56 | And his sisters, are they not all with vs? whence then hath this man all these things? |
| 13:57 | And they were offended in him. But Iesus said vnto them, A Prophet is not without honour, saue in his owne countrey, and in his owne house. |
| 13:58 | And hee did not many mighty workes there, because of their vnbeliefe. |
| 13:1 | The same day, went Iesus out of the house, & sate by the sea syde. |
| 13:2 | And great multitudes were gathered together vnto hym, so greatly that he went and sate in a shippe, and the whole multitude stoode on the shore. |
| 13:3 | And he spake many thynges to them in parables, saying: Beholde, the sower went foorth to sowe. |
| 13:4 | And when he sowed, some seedes fell by the wayes side, and the fowles came, and deuoured them vp. |
| 13:5 | Some fell vpon stony places, where they had not much earth, and anone they sprong vp, because they had no depenesse of earth. |
| 13:6 | And when the sonne was vp, they caught heate, and because they had not roote, they wythered away. |
| 13:7 | Agayne, some fell among thornes, and the thornes sprong vp and choked them. |
| 13:8 | But some fell into good grounde, and brought foorth fruite, some an hundred folde, some sixtie folde, some thirtie folde. |
| 13:9 | Who hath eares to heare, let hym heare. |
| 13:10 | And the disciples came, and sayde vnto hym: Why speakest thou to them by parables? |
| 13:11 | He aunswered and sayde vnto them: because it is geuen vnto you, to knowe the secretes of the kyngdome of heauen, but to them, it is not geuen. |
| 13:12 | For whosoeuer hath, to hym shalbe geuen, and he shall haue more aboundaunce: But whosoeuer hath not, from hym shalbe taken away, euen that he hath. |
| 13:13 | Therfore speake I to them in parables: because they seeyng, see not: and hearyng, they heare not: neither do they vnderstande. |
| 13:14 | And in them is fulfylled the prophesie of Esaias, saying: by hearyng ye shall heare, and shall not vnderstande, and seeyng, ye shall see, & shall not perceaue. |
| 13:15 | For this peoples heart is waxed grosse, and their eares are dull of hearyng, and their eyes haue they closed: lest at any tyme they shoulde see with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and shoulde vnderstande with their heart, & shoulde conuert, that I myght heale them. |
| 13:16 | But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your eares, for they heare. |
| 13:17 | Ueryly I say vnto you, that many prophetes and ryghteous men haue desired to see those thynges which ye see, and haue not seene: and to heare those thynges which ye heare, and haue not hearde. |
| 13:18 | Heare ye therfore the similitude of the sower. |
| 13:19 | When one heareth the worde of the kyngdome, and vnderstandeth it not, then commeth that euyll, and catcheth away that which was sowen in his heart: this is he, which receaued seede by the way syde. |
| 13:20 | But he that receaued the seede into stony places, the same is he that heareth the worde, and anone with ioy, receaueth it: |
| 13:21 | Yet hath he not roote in hym selfe, but dureth for a season: for when tribulation or persecution aryseth because of the worde, by and by he is offended. |
| 13:22 | He also that receaued seede into the thornes, is he that heareth the worde: and the care of this worlde, and the disceiptfulnes of ryches, choke vp the worde, and so is he made vnfruitfull. |
| 13:23 | But he that receaued seede into the good grounde, is he that heareth the worde, and vnderstandeth it, which also beareth fruite: and bryngeth foorth, some an hundred folde, some sixtie folde, some thirtie folde. |
| 13:24 | Another parable put he foorth vnto them, saying: The kyngdome of heauen is likened vnto a man, which sowed good seede in his fielde. |
| 13:25 | But whyle men slept, his enemye came & sowed tares among the wheate, and went his way. |
| 13:26 | But when the blade was sprong vp, and had brought foorth fruite, then appeared the tares also. |
| 13:27 | So, the seruauntes of the housholder came, and sayde vnto hym. Sir, diddest not thou sowe good seede in thy fielde? from whence then hath it tares? |
| 13:28 | He sayde vnto them: the malicious man hath done this. The seruauntes sayde vnto hym: wylt thou then that we go, and gather them vp? |
| 13:29 | But he sayde, nay: lest whyle ye gather vp the tares, ye rote vp also the wheate with them. |
| 13:30 | Let both growe together vntyll the haruest: & in tyme of haruest, I wyl say to the reapers, gather ye together first the tares, and bynde them in bundels to burne them: but carrie the wheate into my barne. |
| 13:31 | Another parable put he foorth vnto them, saying. The kyngdome of heauen is like to a grayne of mustard seede, which a man toke & sowed in his fielde. |
| 13:32 | Which in dede is the least of all seedes: But when it is growen, it is the greatest among hearbes: and is a tree, so that the byrdes of the ayre come & make their nestes in the braunches therof. |
| 13:33 | Another parable spake he vnto them: The kyngdome of heauen is lyke vnto leuen, which a woman taketh & hydeth in three peckes of meale, tyll all be leuened. |
| 13:34 | All these thynges spake Iesus vnto the people in parables: and without a parable spake he not vnto them. |
| 13:35 | That it myght be fulfylled, which was spoken by the prophete, that sayth: I wyll open my mouth in parables, I wyll speake foorth thynges which haue ben kept secrete from the foundation of the worlde. |
| 13:36 | Then Iesus sent the people away, & went into the house: And his disciples came vnto hym, saying: Declare vnto vs the parable of the tares of the fielde. |
| 13:37 | He aunswered and sayde vnto them: He that soweth the good seede, is the sonne of man. |
| 13:38 | The fielde, is the worlde: & the good seede, they are the childre of ye kingdom: the tares, are the chyldren of ye wicked. |
| 13:39 | The enemie that soweth them, is the deuyll: the haruest, is the ende of the worlde: the reapers, be the Angels. |
| 13:40 | Euen as the tares therfore, are gathered and brent in the fyre: so shall it be in the ende of this worlde. |
| 13:41 | The sonne of man shall sende foorth his Angels, and [they] shall gather out of his kyngdome, all thynges that offende, and them which do iniquitie: |
| 13:42 | And shall cast them into a furnesse of fyre: There shalbe waylyng and gnasshyng of teeth. |
| 13:43 | Then shall the ryghteous shine as the Sunne, in the kingdome of their father. Who hath eares to heare, let hym heare. |
| 13:44 | Agayne, the kyngdome of heauen is lyke vnto treasure hyd in the fielde: the which a man hath founde, and hyd, and for ioy therof, goeth and selleth all that he hath, and byeth the fielde. |
| 13:45 | Agayne, the kyngdome of heauen is lyke vnto a marchaunt man, seekyng goodly pearles. |
| 13:46 | Which, when he founde one precious pearle, went and solde all that he had, and bought it. |
| 13:47 | Agayne, the kyngdome of heauen is lyke vnto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of all kynde: |
| 13:48 | Which when it was full, men drewe to lande, and sat downe, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. |
| 13:49 | So shall it be at the ende of the world: The Angels shall come foorth, and seuer the bad from among the iuste: |
| 13:50 | And shall cast them into a furnesse of fyre: there shalbe waylyng and gnasshyng of teeth. |
| 13:51 | Iesus sayth vnto them: haue ye vnderstande all these thynges? They say vnto hym: yea Lorde. |
| 13:52 | Then sayde he vnto them: Therfore, euery Scribe which is taught vnto the kyngdome of heauen, is lyke vnto a man that is an householder, whiche bryngeth foorth out of his treasure, thynges newe and olde. |
| 13:53 | And it came to passe, that when Iesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. |
| 13:54 | And when he came into his owne countrey, he taught them in their synagogues, in so much, that they were astonyed, and sayde: whence commeth this wysdome and powers vnto hym? |
| 13:55 | Is not this the carpenters sonne? Is not his mother called Marie? and his brethren, Iames, and Ioses, and Simon, and Iudas? |
| 13:56 | And are not all his sisters with vs? whence hath he then all these thynges? |
| 13:57 | And they were offended in hym. Iesus sayde vnto them: A prophete is not without honour, saue in his owne countrey, and in his owne house. |
| 13:58 | And he did not many mightie workes there, because of their vnbeliefe. |
| 13:1 | The same day went Iesus out of the house, and sate by the sea side. |
| 13:2 | And great multitudes resorted vnto him, so that he went into a ship, and sate downe: and the whole multitude stoode on the shore. |
| 13:3 | Then he spake many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sowe. |
| 13:4 | And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the foules came and deuoured them vp. |
| 13:5 | And some fell vpon stony grounde, where they had not much earth, and anon they sprong vp, because they had no depth of earth. |
| 13:6 | And when the sunne was vp, they were parched, and for lacke of rooting, withered away. |
| 13:7 | And some fell among thornes, and the thornes sprong vp, and choked them. |
| 13:8 | Some againe fel in good ground, and brought forth fruite, one corne an hundreth folde, some sixtie folde, and another thirtie folde. |
| 13:9 | He that hath eares to heare, let him heare. |
| 13:10 | Then the disciples came, and said to him, Why speakest thou to them in parables? |
| 13:11 | And he answered, and said vnto them, Because it is giuen vnto you, to know the secretes of the kingdome of heauen, but to the it is not giue. |
| 13:12 | For whosoeuer hath, to him shalbe giuen, and he shall haue abundance: but whosoeuer hath not, from him shalbe taken away, euen that he hath. |
| 13:13 | Therefore speake I to them in parables, because they seeing, doe not see: and hearing, they heare not, neither vnderstand. |
| 13:14 | So in them is fulfilled the prophecie of Esaias, which prophecie saieth, By hearing, ye shall heare, and shall not vnderstand, and seeing, ye shall see, and shall not perceiue. |
| 13:15 | For this peoples heart is waxed fat, and their eares are dull of hearing, and with their eyes they haue winked, lest they should see with their eyes, and heare with their eares, and should vnderstand with their hearts, and should returne, that I might heale them. |
| 13:16 | But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your eares, for they heare. |
| 13:17 | For verely I say vnto you, that many Prophets, and righteous men haue desired to see those things which ye see, and haue not seene them, and to heare those things which ye heare, and haue not heard them. |
| 13:18 | Heare ye therefore ye parable of ye sower. |
| 13:19 | Whensoeuer any man heareth the woorde of that kingdome, and vnderstandeth it not, that euil one commeth, and catcheth away that which was sowen in his heart: and this is he which hath receiued the seede by the way side. |
| 13:20 | And hee that receiued seede in the stonie grounde, is he which heareth the woorde, and incontinently with ioy receiueth it, |
| 13:21 | Yet hath he no roote in himselfe, and dureth but a season: for assoone as tribulation or persecution commeth because of the woorde, by and by he is offended. |
| 13:22 | And hee that receiued the seede among thornes, is hee that heareth the woorde: but the care of this worlde, and the deceitfulnesse of riches choke the word, and he is made vnfruitfull. |
| 13:23 | But he that receiued the seede in the good ground, is he that heareth the worde, and vnderstandeth it, which also beareth fruite, and bringeth foorth, some an hundreth folde, some sixtie folde, and some thirtie folde. |
| 13:24 | Another parable put hee foorth vnto them, saying, The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a man which sowed good seede in his fielde. |
| 13:25 | But while men slept, there came his enemie, and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his waie. |
| 13:26 | And when the blade was sprong vp, and brought forth fruite, then appeared the tares also. |
| 13:27 | Then came the seruaunts of the housholder, and sayd vnto him, Master, sowedst not thou good seede in thy fielde? from whence then hath it tares? |
| 13:28 | And hee said to them, Some enuious man hath done this. Then the seruants saide vnto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them vp? |
| 13:29 | But he saide, Nay, lest while yee goe about to gather the tares, yee plucke vp also with them the wheat. |
| 13:30 | Let both growe together vntill the haruest, and in time of haruest I will say to the reapers, Gather yee first the tares, and binde them in sheaues to burne them: but gather the wheate into my barne. |
| 13:31 | Another parable he put foorth vnto them, saying, The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a graine of mustard seede, which a man taketh and soweth in his fielde: |
| 13:32 | Which in deede is the least of all seedes: but when it is growen, it is the greatest among herbes, and it is a tree, so that the birdes of heauen come and builde in the branches thereof. |
| 13:33 | Another parable spake hee to them, The kingdome of heauen is like vnto leauen, which a woman taketh and hideth in three pecks of meale, till all be leauened. |
| 13:34 | All these thinges spake Iesus vnto the multitude in parables, and without parables spake he not to them, |
| 13:35 | That it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the Prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables, and will vtter the thinges which haue beene kept secrete from the foundation of the worlde. |
| 13:36 | Then sent Iesus the multitude away, and went into the house. And his disciples came vnto him, saying, Declare vnto vs the parable of the tares of that fielde. |
| 13:37 | Then answered he, and saide to them, He that soweth the good seede, is the Sonne of man. |
| 13:38 | And the field is the worlde, and the good seede are the children of the kingdome, and the tares are the children of that wicked one. |
| 13:39 | And the enemie that soweth them, is the deuill, and the haruest is the end of the worlde, and the reapers be the Angels. |
| 13:40 | As then the tares are gathered and burned in ye fire, so shall it be in the end of this world. |
| 13:41 | The Sonne of man shall send forth his Angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which doe iniquitie, |
| 13:42 | And shall cast them into a fornace of fire. There shalbe wailing and gnashing of teeth. |
| 13:43 | Then shall the iust men shine as ye sunne in the kingdome of their Father. Hee that hath eares to heare, let him heare. |
| 13:44 | Againe, the kingdom of heauen is like vnto a treasure hid in ye field, which when a man hath found, he hideth it, and for ioy thereof departeth and selleth all that he hath, and buieth that field. |
| 13:45 | Againe, the kingdome of heauen is like to a marchant man, that seeketh good pearles, |
| 13:46 | Who hauing found a pearle of great price, went and solde all that he had, and bought it. |
| 13:47 | Againe, the kingdom of heauen is like vnto a drawe net cast into the sea, that gathereth of all kindes of things. |
| 13:48 | Which, when it is full, men draw to lande, and sit and gather the good into vessels, and cast the bad away. |
| 13:49 | So shall it be at the end of the world. The Angels shall goe foorth, and seuer the bad from among the iust, |
| 13:50 | And shall cast them into a fornace of fire: there shalbe wailing, and gnashing of teeth. |
| 13:51 | Iesus saide vnto them, Vnderstand yee all these things? They saide vnto him, Yea, Lord. |
| 13:52 | Then sayd hee vnto them, Therefore euery Scribe which is taught vnto the kingdome of heauen, is like vnto an householder, which bringeth foorth out of his treasure things both newe and olde. |
| 13:53 | And it came to passe, that when Iesus had ended these parables, he departed thence, |
| 13:54 | And came into his owne countrey, and taught them in their Synagogue, so that they were astonied, and saide, Whence commeth this wisdome and great woorkes vnto this man? |
| 13:55 | Is not this the carpenters sonne? Is not his mother called Marie, and his brethren Iames and Ioses, and Simon and Iudas? |
| 13:56 | And are not his sisters all with vs? Whence then hath he all these things? |
| 13:57 | And they were offended with him. Then Iesus said to them, A Prophet is not without honour, saue in his owne countrey, and in his owne house. |
| 13:58 | And he did not many great woorkes there, for their vnbeliefes sake. |
