>
14:1At that time Herod the Tetrarch heard of the fame of Iesus,
14:2And said vnto his seruants, This is Iohn the Baptist, hee is risen from the dead, and therfore mighty workes doe shew foorth themselues in him.
14:3For Herode had layd hold on Iohn, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias sake, his brother Philips wife.
14:4For Iohn said vnto him, It is not lawfull for thee to haue her.
14:5And when he would haue put him to death, hee feared the multitude, because they counted him as a Prophet.
14:6But when Herods birth day was kept, the daughter of Herodias daunced before them, and pleased Herode.
14:7Whereupon he promised with an oath, to giue her whatsoeuer she would aske.
14:8And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Giue me heere Iohn Baptists head in a charger.
14:9And the king was sorie: neuerthelesse for the othes sake, and them which sate with him at meate, he commanded it to be giuen her:
14:10And he sent, and beheaded Iohn in the prison.
14:11And his head was brought in a charger, and giuen to the Damsell: and she brought it to her mother.
14:12And his Disciples came, and took vp the body, and buried it, and went and told Iesus.
14:13When Iesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship, into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foote, out of the cities.
14:14And Iesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was mooued with compassion toward them, and he healed their sicke.
14:15And when it was euening, his Disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may goe into the villages, and buy themselues victuals.
14:16But Iesus said vnto them, They neede not depart; giue yee them to eate.
14:17And they say vnto him, We haue heere but fiue loaues, and two fishes.
14:18He said, Bring them hither to me.
14:19And hee commanded the multitude to sit downe on the grasse, & tooke the fiue loaues, and the two fishes, and looking vp to heauen, hee blessed, and brake, and gaue the loaues to his Disciples, and the Disciples to the multitude.
14:20And they did all eat, & were filled: and they tooke vp of the fragments that remained twelue baskets full.
14:21And they that had eaten, were about fiue thousand men, beside women and children.
14:22And straightway Iesus constrained his Disciples to get into a ship, and to goe before him vnto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
14:23And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went vp into a mountaine apart to pray: and when the euening was come, he was there alone:
14:24But the ship was now in the midst of the Sea, tossed with waues: for the wind was contrary.
14:25And in the fourth watch of the night, Iesus went vnto them, walking on the Sea.
14:26And when the Disciples saw him walking on the Sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit: and they cried out for feare.
14:27But straightway Iesus spake vnto them, saying, Be of good cheere: it is I, be not afraid.
14:28And Peter answered him, and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come vnto thee on the water.
14:29And he said, Come. And when Peter was come downe out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Iesus.
14:30But when he saw the wind boysterous, he was afraid: and beginning to sinke, he cried, saying, Lord saue me.
14:31And immediately Iesus stretched foorth his hand, and caught him, and said vnto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
14:32And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
14:33Then they that were in the ship, came and worshipped him, saying, Of a trueth thou art the sonne of God.
14:34And when they were gone ouer, they came into ye land of Genesaret.
14:35And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that countrey round about, and brought vnto him al that were diseased,
14:36And besought him, that they might onely touch the hemme of his garment; and as many as touched, were made perfectly whole.

14:8And she, beyng instruct of her mother before, sayde: geue me here Iohn Baptistes head in a platter.
14:9And the kyng was sory: Neuerthelesse, for the othes sake, and them which sate also at the table, he commaunded it to be geuen her:
14:10And sent, and beheaded Iohn in the pryson.
14:11And his head was brought in a platter, and geuen to the damsell: and [she] brought it to her mother.
14:12And his disciples came, and toke vp his body, and buryed it: and went, and tolde Iesus.
14:13When Iesus hearde of it, he departed thence in a shyp, vnto a desert place, out of the way: And when the people had hearde therof, they folowed hym on foote out of the cities.
14:14And Iesus went foorth, and sawe much people: and was moued with mercye towarde them, and he healed their sicke.
14:15And when the euen drewe on, his disciples came to hym, saying: this is a desert place, and the hour is nowe past, let the people depart, that they may go into the townes, and bye them vittels.
14:16But Iesus sayde vnto them: They haue no nede to go away, geue ye them to eate.
14:17They saye vnto hym: we haue here but fyue loaues, and two fisshes.
14:18He sayde: bryng them hyther to me.
14:19And he commaunded the people to sit downe on the grasse, and he toke the fyue loaues, and the two fisshes, and lift vp his eyes towarde heauen, & blessed: And when he had broken [them], he gaue the loaues to his disciples, and his disciples to the people.
14:20And they dyd all eate, and were suffised. And they gathered vp (of the fragmentes that remayned) twelue baskets full.
14:21And they that had eaten, were about fyue thousande men, besyde women and chyldren.
14:22And strayghtway Iesus constrayned his disciples to get vp into a shippe, and to go before hym vnto the other syde, whyle he sent the people away.
14:23And when the people were sent away, he went vp into a mountayne alone to pray: And when nyght was come, he was there hym selfe alone.
14:24But the shippe was nowe in the middes of the sea, & was tost with waues: for it was a contrary wynde.
14:25And in the fourth watch of the nyght, Iesus went vnto them, walkyng on the sea.
14:26And when the disciples sawe hym walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, it is a spirite: and they cryed out for feare.
14:27But strayght way, Iesus spake vnto them, saying: be of good cheare, it is I, be not afrayde.
14:28Peter aunswered hym, and sayde: Lorde, yf it be thou, byd me come vnto thee, on the water.
14:29And he sayde: come. And when Peter was come downe out of the shippe, he walked on the water, to go to Iesus.
14:30But when he sawe a myghty wynde, he was afrayde: And when he began to sincke, he cryed, saying, Lorde saue me.
14:31And immediatly Iesus stretched foorth his hande, and caught hym, and sayde vnto hym: O thou of litle fayth, wherefore diddest thou doubt?
14:32And when they were come into the shippe, the wynde ceassed
14:33Then they that were in the shippe, came and worshypped hym, saying: of a trueth thou art the sonne of God.
14:34And when they were gone ouer, they came into the lande of Gennezaret.
14:35And when the men of that place, had knowledge of hym, they sent out into all that countrey rounde about: and brought vnto hym all that were sicke.
14:36And besought hym, that they myght touche the hemme of his garment only: And as many as touched [it] were made whole.

14:15And when euen was come, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desart place, and the time is alreadie past: let the multitude depart, that they may goe into the townes, and bye them vitailes.
14:16But Iesus saide to them, They haue no neede to goe away: giue yee them to eate.

14:31So immediatly Iesus stretched foorth his hande, and caught him, and saide to him, O thou of litle faith, wherefore diddest thou doubt?
14:32And assoone as they were come into the ship, the winde ceased.
14:33Then they that were in the ship, came and worshipped him, saying, Of a trueth thou art the Sonne of God.
