| 15:1 | Then came to Iesus Scribes and Pharises (whyche were come from Ierusalem) saying: |
| 15:2 | why do thy disciples transgresse the tradicion of the elders? for they washe not theyr handes when they eate bread. |
| 15:3 | But he answered & sayde vnto them: why do ye also transgresse the commaundement of God, because of youre awne tradicion: |
| 15:4 | For God commaundeth sayinge: honoure father and mother, and he that cursseth father or mother: let hym dye the deeth. |
| 15:5 | But ye saye: euery one shall saye to his father and mother: what gift so euer shulde haue come of me, the same is turned vnto thy profyt: & so shall he not honoure his father or his mother. |
| 15:6 | And thus haue ye made the commaundement of God of none effecte, because of youre awne tradicyon. |
| 15:7 | Ypocrites, full well dyd Esaye prophesie of you, saying: |
| 15:8 | This people draweth nye vnto me with theyr mouth, and honoureth me with lyppes, howbeit, their hertes are farre from me: |
| 15:9 | but in vayne do they serue me; teachynge the doctrines and preceptes of men. |
| 15:10 | And he called the people to him, and sayd vnto them: heare and vnderstande. |
| 15:11 | That whych goeth into the mouth, defyleth not the man: but that which commeth out of the mouth, defyleth the man. |
| 15:12 | Then came his disciples, and sayde vnto him: knowest thou not, that the Pharises were offended at this saying? |
| 15:13 | But he answered and sayd. Euery plante which my heauenly father hath not planted, shalbe plucked vp by the rotes. |
| 15:14 | Let them alone, they be the blynde leaders of the blynde. If the blynde leade the blynde, both shall fall into the dyche. |
| 15:15 | Then answered Peter & sayd vnto him: declare vnto vs this parable. |
| 15:16 | Iesus sayde: are ye also yet without vnderstandinge? |
| 15:17 | do not ye yet vnderstande, that whatsoeuer entreth in at the mouth, goeth into the bely, & is cast out into the draught? |
| 15:18 | But those thynges whych procede out of the mouth, come forth from the hert, & they defyle the man. |
| 15:19 | For out of the herte proceade euill thoughtes; murders, breakynge of wedlocke, whordoms, theftes, falsewitnesse, blasphemies. |
| 15:20 | These are the thinges, which defyle a man. But to take meate wt vnwasshen handes, defileth not a man. |
| 15:21 | And Iesus went thence, & departed into the coastes of Tyre and Sydon |
| 15:22 | & beholde, a woman of Canaan (which cam out of the same coastes) cryed vnto him, sayinge: haue mercy on me o Lorde, thou sonne of Dauid: My daughter is pyteously vexed wyth a deuyll. |
| 15:23 | But he answered her nothing at all, & his disciples came, and besought him, sayinge: sende her awaye, for she crieth after vs: |
| 15:24 | But he answered, & sayde: I am not sent but vnto the lost shepe of the housse of Israel |
| 15:25 | Then cam she, & worshipped him, sayinge: lorde, helpe me. |
| 15:26 | He answered and said: it is not mete, to take the chyldrens bread, and to cast it to dogges. |
| 15:27 | She answered & sayde: truthe Lorde, for the dogges eate of the crommes, which fall from their masters table. |
| 15:28 | Then Iesus answered and sayde vnto her. O woman, greate is thy faith, be it vnto the, euen as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole euen at that same tyme. |
| 15:29 | And Iesus went awaye from thence, and cam nye vnto the see of Galile, & went vp into a mountayne, & sat doune there. |
| 15:30 | And moche people came vnto him, bringing wt them those that were lame, blind, deafe, maymed, and other many: & cast them downe at Iesus fete And he healed them: |
| 15:31 | in so moch, that the people wondered, whan they sawe the domme speake, the maymed to be whole, the lame to walke, and the blynde to se. And they glorified the God of Israel. |
| 15:32 | Then Iesus called his disciples vnto him, & sayde: I haue compassyon on the people, because they continue with me nowe .iii. dayes, & haue nothing to eate: & I will not let them departe fastynge, lest they myscary by the waye. |
| 15:33 | And his disciples saye vnto him whence shulde we get so moche bread in the wyldernes, as to suffyse so greate a multitude? |
| 15:34 | And Iesus sayeth vnto them: howe many loaues haue ye? And they saye seuen, & a fewe lytle fysshes. |
| 15:35 | And he commaunded the people to syt doune on the grounde: |
| 15:36 | and toke the seuen loaues, & the fysshes: & after that he had geuen thankes, he brake them, and gaue to his disciples, & the discyples gaue them to the people. |
| 15:37 | And they dyd all eate, and were suffysed. And they toke vp (of the broken meate that was lefte) seuen baskettes full. |
| 15:38 | And yet, they that dyd eate were .iiii.M. men. besyde wemen & chyldren. |
| 15:39 | And he sent awaye the people, and toke shyppe, & came into the parties of Magdala. |
| 15:1 | Thanne the scribis and the Farisees camen to hym fro Jerusalem, and seiden, |
| 15:2 | Whi breken thi disciplis the tradiciouns of eldere men? for thei waisschen not her hondis, whanne thei eten breed. |
| 15:3 | He answeride, and seide to hem, Whi breken ye the maundement of God for youre tradicioun? |
| 15:4 | For God seide, Honoure thi fadir and thi modir, and he that cursith fadir or modir, die bi deeth. |
| 15:5 | But ye seien, Who euer seith to fadir or modir, What euere yifte is of me, it schal profite to thee; |
| 15:6 | and he hath not worschipid his fadir or his modir; and ye han maad the maundement of God voide for youre tradicioun. |
| 15:7 | Ypocritis, Isaie, the prophete, prophesiede wel of you, |
| 15:8 | and seide, This puple honourith me with lippis, but her herte is fer fro me; |
| 15:9 | and thei worschipen me `with outen cause, techynge the doctrines and maundementis of men. |
| 15:10 | And whanne the puple weren clepid to gidere to hym, he seide to hem, Here ye, and `vndurstonde ye. |
| 15:11 | That thing that entrith in to the mouth, defoulith not a man; but that thing that cometh out of the mouth, defoulith a man. |
| 15:12 | Thanne hise disciplis camen, and seiden to hym, Thou knowist, that, if this word be herd, the Farisees ben sclaundrid? |
| 15:13 | And he answeride, and seide, Eueri plauntyng, that my fadir of heuene hath not plauntid, shal be drawun vp by the roote. |
| 15:14 | Suffre ye hem; thei ben blynde, and leederis of blynde men. And if a blynd man lede a blynd man, bothe fallen doun in to the diche. |
| 15:15 | Petre answeride, and seide to hym, Expowne to vs this parable. |
| 15:16 | And he seide, Yit `ye ben also with oute vndurstondyng? |
| 15:17 | Vndurstonden ye not, that al thing that entrith in to the mouth, goith in to the wombe, and is sent out in to the goyng awei? |
| 15:18 | But tho thingis that comen forth fro the mouth, goon out of the herte, and tho thingis defoulen a man. |
| 15:19 | For of the herte goon out yuele thouytis, mansleyngis, auowtries, fornycaciouns, theftis, fals witnessyngis, blasfemyes. |
| 15:20 | Thes thingis it ben that defoulen a man; but to ete with hondis not waischun, defoulith not a man. |
| 15:21 | And Jhesus yede out fro thennus, and wente in to the coostis of Tire and Sidon. |
| 15:22 | And lo! a womman of Canane yede out of tho coostis, and criede, and seide to him, Lord, the sone of Dauid, haue merci on me; my douyter is yuel traueilid of a feend. |
| 15:23 | And he answeride not to hir a word. And hise disciplis camen, and preieden hym, and seiden, Leue thou hir, for she crieth aftir vs. |
| 15:24 | He answeride, and seide, Y am not sent, but to the scheep of the hous of Israel that perischiden. |
| 15:25 | And she cam, and worschipide hym, and seide, Lord, helpe me. |
| 15:26 | Which answeride, and seide, It is not good to take the breed of children, and caste to houndis. |
| 15:27 | And she seide, Yhis, Lord; for whelpis eten of the crummes, that fallen doun fro the bord of her lordis. |
| 15:28 | Thanne Jhesus answeride, and seide to hir, A! womman, thi feith is greet; be it doon to thee, as thou wolt. And hir douytir was helid fro that hour. |
| 15:29 | And whanne Jhesus hadde passed fro thennus, he cam bisidis the see of Galilee. And he yede vp in to an hil, and sat there. |
| 15:30 | And myche puple cam to hym, and hadden with hem doumbe men and crokid, feble and blynde, and many other; and thei castiden doun hem at hise feet. And he helide hem, |
| 15:31 | so that the puple wondriden seynge doumbe men spekynge, and crokid goynge, blynde men seynge; and thei magnyfieden God of Israel. |
| 15:32 | And Jhesus, whanne hise disciplis weren clepid to gidere, seide to hem, Y haue reuthe of the puple, for thei han abiden now thre daies with me, and han no thing to ete; and Y wole not leeue hem fastynge, lest thei failen in the weie. |
| 15:33 | And the disciplis seien to him, Wherof thanne so many looues among vs in desert, to fulfille so greet a puple? |
| 15:34 | And Jhesus seide to hem, Hou many looues han ye? And thei seiden, Seuene, and a fewe smale fisshis. |
| 15:35 | And he comaundide to the puple, to sitte to mete on the erthe. |
| 15:36 | And he took seuene looues and fyue fischis, and dide thankyngis, and brak, and yaf to hise disciplis; and the disciplis yauen to the puple. |
| 15:37 | And alle eten, and weren fulfillid, and thei token that that was left of relifes, seuene lepis fulle. |
| 15:38 | And thei that eten weren foure thousynde of men, with outen litle children and wymmen. |
| 15:39 | And whanne he hadde left the puple, he wente vp in to a boot, and cam in to the coostis of Magedan. |

| 15:17 | Perceaue ye not, yt what soeuer goeth in at ye mouth, descedeth downe in to ye bely, & is cast out into the draught? |
| 15:18 | But the thinge that proceadeth out of the mouth, cometh fro ye hert, & that defyleth ye ma. |
| 15:19 | For out of ye hert come euell thoughtes murthur, breakynge of wedlocke, whordome theft, false witnesse, blasphemy. |

| 15:21 | And Iesus wente out from thence, & departed in to the coastes of Tyre of Sidon. |
| 15:22 | And beholde, a woma of Canaan wete out of ye same coastes, & cried after him, sayege: O LORDE, thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercy vpon me. My doughter is sore vexed wt a deuell. |
| 15:23 | And he answered her neuer a worde. The came his disciples vnto him, & besought him, sayege: Sede her awaye, for she crieth after us. |
| 15:24 | But he answered, & saide: I am not sent, but vnto the lost shepe of the house of Israel. |
| 15:25 | Notwithstondinge she came & fell downe before him, & sayde: LORDE, helpe me. |
| 15:26 | He answered & sayde: It is not good, to take the childrens bred, & to cast it vnto dogges. |
| 15:27 | It is trueth LORDE (sayde she) Neuertheles the whelpes eate of the crommes, that fall fro their lordes table. |
| 15:28 | Then answered Iesus & sayde vnto her: O woma, greate is yi faith be it vnto the, eue as thou desyrest. And hir doughter was made hole at ye same houre. |
| 15:29 | And Iesus departed thece, and came nye vnto the see of Galile, and wente vp in to a mountayne, and sat downe there, |
| 15:30 | And there came vnto him moch people, hauinge with them, lame, blynde, dome, crepell, and other many, and cast them downe at Iesus fete. And he healed the, |
| 15:31 | in so moch that the people wodred, to se the dome speake, the crepell whole, the halt to go, & the blynde to se. And they praysed the God of Israel. |
| 15:32 | And Iesus called his disciples vnto him, & sayde: I haue copassion vpon the people, for they haue cotynued wt me now thre dayes, & haue nothinge to eate, & I wil not let the departe fastynge, lest they perishe in ye waye. |
| 15:33 | And his disciples sayde vnto him: Whence shulde we get so moch bred in the wyldernes, that we might satissfie so moch people? |
| 15:34 | And Iesus sayde vnto the: How many loaues haue ye? They sayde: seue, & a few litle fyshes. |
| 15:35 | And he comaunded ye people to syt downe vpo the grounde, |
| 15:36 | and toke ye seue loaues, & the fyshes, & gaue thankes & brake the, & gaue the to his disciples, & ye disciples gaue the vnto the people. |
