17:1And after sixe dayes, Iesus taketh Peter, Iames, and Iohn his brother, and bringeth them vp into an high mountaine apart,
17:2And was transfigured before them, and his face did shine as the Sunne, and his raiment was white as the light.
17:3And behold, there appeared vnto them Moses, and Elias, talking with him.
17:4Then answered Peter, and saide vnto Iesus, Lord, it is good for vs to be here: If thou wilt, let vs make here three tabernacles: one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
17:5While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud ouershadowed them: and behold a voyce out of the cloude, which saide, This is my beloued sonne, in whom I am well pleased: heare ye him.
17:6And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
17:7And Iesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
17:8And when they had lift vp their eyes, they saw no man, saue Iesus only.
17:9And as they came downe from the mountaine, Iesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, vntil the sonne of man bee risen againe from the dead.
17:10And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elias must first come?
17:11And Iesus answered, and said vnto them, Elias truely shall first come, and restore all things:
17:12But I say vnto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they listed: Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
17:13Then the Disciples vnderstood that he spake vnto them of Iohn the Baptist.
17:14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certaine man, kneeling downe to him, and saying,
17:15Lord, haue mercie on my sonne, for he is lunatike, and sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
17:16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17:17Then Iesus answered, and said, O faithlesse and peruerse generation, how long shall I bee with you? howe long shal I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
17:18And Iesus rebuked the deuill, and hee departed out of him: and the childe was cured from that very houre.
17:19Then came the Disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
17:20And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verily I say vnto you, If yee haue faith as a graine of mustard seed, yee shall say vnto this mountaine; Remoue hence to yonder place: and it shall remoue, and nothing shall be vnpossible vnto you.
17:21Howbeit, this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.
17:22And while they abode in Galilee, Iesus said vnto them, The sonne of man shall be betraied into the hands of men:
17:23And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised againe: And they were exceeding sorie.
17:24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receiued tribute money, came to Peter, and said, Doeth not your master pay tribute?
17:25Hee saith, Yes. And when hee was come into the house, Iesus preuented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom doe the kings of the earth take custome or tribute? of their owne children, or of strangers?
17:26Peter saith vnto him, Of strangers. Iesus saith vnto him, Then are the children free.
17:27Notwithstanding, least we should offend them, goe thou to the Sea, and cast an hooke, and take vp the fish that first commeth vp: and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and giue vnto them for me, and thee.

17:2And was transfigured before them, and his face did shyne as the sunne, and his clothes were as whyte as the lyght.
17:3And beholde, there appeared vnto them, Moyses, and Elias talkyng with hym.
17:4Then aunswered Peter, and sayde vnto Iesus: Lorde, it is good for vs to be here. If thou wylt, let vs make here three tabernacles: one for thee, and one for Moyses, and one for Elias.
17:5Whyle he yet spake, beholde, a bryght cloude shadowed them: And beholde, [there came] a voyce out of the cloude, which sayde, this is my beloued sonne in whom I am well pleased, heare hym.
17:6And when the disciples hearde [these thynges] they fell on their face, and were sore afrayde.
17:7And Iesus came, and touched them, and sayde: aryse, and be not afrayde.
17:8And when they had lyft vp their eyes, they sawe no man, saue Iesus only.
17:9And when they came downe from the mountayne, Iesus charged them, saying: shewe the vision to no man, vntyll the sonne of man be rysen agayne from the dead.
17:10And his disciples asked hym, saying: Why then say the scribes, that Elias must first come?
17:11Iesus aunswered, & sayde vnto them: Elias truely shall first come, and restore all thynges:
17:12But I say vnto you, that Elias is come alredy, and they knewe hym not, but haue done vnto hym, whatsoeuer they lusted.
17:13Lykewyse, shall also the sonne of man suffer of them. Then the disciples vnderstode, that he spake vnto them of Iohn Baptist.
17:14And when they were come to the people, there came to hym a certayne man, knelyng downe to hym, and saying:
17:15Lorde, haue mercy on my sonne, for he is lunaticke, and sore vexed: for oft tymes he falleth into the fyre, and oft into the water.
17:16And I brought hym to thy disciples, and they coulde not heale hym.
17:17Iesus aunswered and sayde: O faythlesse and croked nation, howe long shall I be with you? howe long shal I suffer you? bryng hym hyther to me.
17:18And Iesus rebuked the deuyll, and he departed out of hym: And the chylde was healed euen that same tyme.
17:19Then came the disciples to Iesus secretely, and sayde: why coulde not we cast hym out?
17:20Iesus sayde vnto them: because of your vnbeliefe. For veryly I say vnto you: If ye haue fayth as a grayne of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountayne: remoue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue, neither shall any thyng be vnpossible vnto you.
17:21Howebeit, this kynde goeth not out, but by prayer and fastyng.
17:22Whyle they were occupyed in Galilee, Iesus sayde vnto them: it wyll come to passe, that the sonne of man shalbe betrayed into the handes of men:
17:23And they shall kyll hym, & the thyrde day shall he ryse agayne: And they were exceadyng sory.
17:24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receaued tribute money, came to Peter, and sayde: Doth not your maister pay tribute?
17:25He sayth: yes. And when he was come into the house, Iesus preuented hym, saying: What thynkest thou Simon? of whom do the kynges of the earth take tribute or toule? of the chyldren, or of straungers?
17:26Peter sayth vnto hym: of straungers. Iesus sayth vnto hym: Then are the chyldren free.
17:27Notwithstandyng, lest we shoulde offende them, go thou to the sea, and cast an angle, and take the fisshe that first commeth vp: and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt fynde a peece of twenty pence: that take, and geue it vnto them for me, and thee.

17:11And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Certeinely Elias must first come, and restore all thinges.
17:12But I say vnto you that Elias is come alreadie, and they knewe him not, but haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would: likewise shall also the Sonne of man suffer of them.
17:13Then the disciples perceiued that he spake vnto them of Iohn Baptist.
17:14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certaine man, and fell downe at his feete,
17:15And saide, Master, haue pitie on my sonne: for he is lunatike, and is sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft times into the water.
17:16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heale him.
17:17Then Iesus answered, and said, O generation faithlesse, and crooked, how long now shall I be with you! howe long nowe shall I suffer you! bring him hither to me.
17:18And Iesus rebuked the deuill, and he went out of him: and the childe was healed at that houre.
17:19Then came the disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
17:20And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith as much as is a graine of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountaine, Remooue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue: and nothing shalbe vnpossible vnto you.
17:21Howbeit this kinde goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.
17:22And they being in Galile, Iesus said vnto them, The Sonne of man shall be deliuered into the handes of men,
17:23And they shall kill him, but the thirde day shall he rise againe: and they were very sorie.
17:24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receiued polle money, came to Peter, and sayd, Doeth not your Master pay polle money?
17:25He sayd, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Iesus preuented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whome doe the Kings of the earth take tribute, or polle money? of their children, or of strangers?
17:26Peter sayd vnto him, Of strangers. Then said Iesus vnto him, Then are the children free.
17:27Neuerthelesse, lest we should offend them: goe to the sea, and cast in an angle, and take the first fish that commeth vp, and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt finde a piece of twentie pence: that take, and giue it vnto them for me and thee.
