>
17:1And after sixe dayes, Iesus taketh Peter, Iames, and Iohn his brother, and bringeth them vp into an high mountaine apart,
17:2And was transfigured before them, and his face did shine as the Sunne, and his raiment was white as the light.
17:3And behold, there appeared vnto them Moses, and Elias, talking with him.
17:4Then answered Peter, and saide vnto Iesus, Lord, it is good for vs to be here: If thou wilt, let vs make here three tabernacles: one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
17:5While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud ouershadowed them: and behold a voyce out of the cloude, which saide, This is my beloued sonne, in whom I am well pleased: heare ye him.
17:6And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
17:7And Iesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
17:8And when they had lift vp their eyes, they saw no man, saue Iesus only.
17:9And as they came downe from the mountaine, Iesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, vntil the sonne of man bee risen againe from the dead.
17:10And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elias must first come?
17:11And Iesus answered, and said vnto them, Elias truely shall first come, and restore all things:
17:12But I say vnto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they listed: Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
17:13Then the Disciples vnderstood that he spake vnto them of Iohn the Baptist.
17:14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certaine man, kneeling downe to him, and saying,
17:15Lord, haue mercie on my sonne, for he is lunatike, and sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
17:16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17:17Then Iesus answered, and said, O faithlesse and peruerse generation, how long shall I bee with you? howe long shal I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
17:18And Iesus rebuked the deuill, and hee departed out of him: and the childe was cured from that very houre.
17:19Then came the Disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
17:20And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verily I say vnto you, If yee haue faith as a graine of mustard seed, yee shall say vnto this mountaine; Remoue hence to yonder place: and it shall remoue, and nothing shall be vnpossible vnto you.
17:21Howbeit, this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.
17:22And while they abode in Galilee, Iesus said vnto them, The sonne of man shall be betraied into the hands of men:
17:23And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised againe: And they were exceeding sorie.
17:24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receiued tribute money, came to Peter, and said, Doeth not your master pay tribute?
17:25Hee saith, Yes. And when hee was come into the house, Iesus preuented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom doe the kings of the earth take custome or tribute? of their owne children, or of strangers?
17:26Peter saith vnto him, Of strangers. Iesus saith vnto him, Then are the children free.
17:27Notwithstanding, least we should offend them, goe thou to the Sea, and cast an hooke, and take vp the fish that first commeth vp: and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and giue vnto them for me, and thee.

17:6Whan ye disciples herde that, they fell vpon their faces, and were sore afrayed.
17:7But Iesus came and touched them, and sayde: Aryse, and be not afrayed.
17:8And whan they loked vp, they sawe no man, but Iesus onely.
17:9And wha they came downe fro ye mountayne, Iesus charged them, and sayde: Tell no man of this vision, tyll the sonne of man be rysen agayne from ye deed.
17:10And his disciples axed him, and sayde: Why saye the scrybes then, that Elias must first come?
17:11Iesus answered and sayde vnto them: Elias shall come first in dede, and bringe all thinges to right agayne.
17:12But I saye vnto you: Elias is come all ready, & they knewe him not, but haue done vnto him what they wolde. Eue so shal also the sonne of man suffre of them.
17:13Then the disciples perceaued, that he spake vnto them of Ihon the baptist.
17:14And whan they were come to the people, there came vnto him a certayne man, and kneled vnto him, and sayde:
17:15LORDE, haue mercy vpon my sonne, for he is lunatike, & sore vexed. He falleth oft tymes in to ye fyre, and oft in to ye water:
17:16and I brought him vnto thy disciples, and they coude not heale him.
17:17Iesus answered, and sayde: O thou faithles and frowarde generacion, how longe shal I be with you? How longe shal I suffre you? Bringe him hither to me.
17:18And Iesus rebuked him, and ye deuyll wete out of him, and ye childe was healed, euen that same houre.
17:19Then came the disciples vnto Iesus secretly, & sayde: Why coude not we cast him out?
17:20Iesus sayde vnto them: Because of youre vnbeleue. For I saye verely vnto you? Yf ye haue faith as a grane of mustarde sede, ye maye saye vnto this mountayne: Remoue hence to yonder place, and he shal remoue, nether shal enythinge be vnpossible vnto you
17:21How beit this kinde goeth not out, but by prayer and fastynge.

17:26Then sayde Peter to him: Of straungers. Iesus sayde vnto him: Then are ye children fre.
17:27Neuertheles lest we offende them, go thy waye to the see, and cast thine angle, and take the fysh that first cometh vp, and whan thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt fynde a pece of twenty pens, take that, and geue it them for me and the.
