| 17:1 | Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves; |
| 17:2 | and He was transfigured before them, so His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. |
| 17:3 | And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them there, talking with Him. |
| 17:4 | Then Peter responded and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if you want to, let us make three tabernacles here; one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." |
| 17:5 | While he still spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!" |
| 17:6 | And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. |
| 17:7 | But Jesus came and touched them and said, "Arise, and do not be afraid." |
| 17:8 | And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus only. |
| 17:9 | Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen again from the dead." |
| 17:10 | Then His disciples asked Him, saying, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" |
| 17:11 | So Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly Elijah is coming first, and will restore all things." |
| 17:12 | But I say to you, that Elijah has come already and they did not know him, but did to him whatever they desired. Likewise the Son of Man will suffer by them also." |
| 17:13 | Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them about John the Baptist. |
| 17:14 | And when they came to the crowd, a certain man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, |
| 17:15 | "Lord, have mercy on my son, because, he is crazy, and suffers greatly; because he often falls into the fire and often into the water. |
| 17:16 | And I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him." |
| 17:17 | Then Jesus responded and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me." |
| 17:18 | And Jesus rebuked the demon, and he came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. |
| 17:19 | Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast him out?" |
| 17:20 | And Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; because, truly, I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." |
| 17:21 | However this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." |
| 17:22 | Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man will be betrayed into the hands of men," |
| 17:23 | and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised again." And they were exceedingly sorrowful. |
| 17:24 | And when they had come to Capernaum, those who received tax money came to Peter, and said, "Does your Teacher not pay tax?" |
| 17:25 | He said, "Yes." And when he had come into the house, Jesus came before him, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their own children, or from strangers?" |
| 17:26 | Peter said to Him, "From strangers." Jesus said to him, "Then the children are free. |
| 17:27 | Nevertheless, lest we should offend them, go to the sea, and cast in a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that, and give it to them for Me and you." |

| 17:4 | Then answered Peter, and saide to Iesus, Master, it is good for vs to be here: if thou wilt, let vs make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. |
| 17:5 | While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloude shadowed them: and beholde, there came a voyce out of the cloude, saying, This is that my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased: heare him. |
| 17:6 | And when the disciples heard that, they fell on their faces, and were sore afraide. |
| 17:7 | Then Iesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraide. |
| 17:8 | And when they lifted vp their eyes, they sawe no man, saue Iesus onely. |
| 17:9 | And as they came downe from the moutaine, Iesus charged them, saying, Shewe the vision to no man, vntil the Sonne of man rise againe from the dead. |
| 17:10 | And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elias must first come? |
| 17:11 | And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Certeinely Elias must first come, and restore all thinges. |
| 17:12 | But I say vnto you that Elias is come alreadie, and they knewe him not, but haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would: likewise shall also the Sonne of man suffer of them. |
| 17:13 | Then the disciples perceiued that he spake vnto them of Iohn Baptist. |
| 17:14 | And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certaine man, and fell downe at his feete, |
| 17:15 | And saide, Master, haue pitie on my sonne: for he is lunatike, and is sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft times into the water. |
| 17:16 | And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heale him. |
| 17:17 | Then Iesus answered, and said, O generation faithlesse, and crooked, how long now shall I be with you! howe long nowe shall I suffer you! bring him hither to me. |
| 17:18 | And Iesus rebuked the deuill, and he went out of him: and the childe was healed at that houre. |
| 17:19 | Then came the disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? |
| 17:20 | And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith as much as is a graine of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountaine, Remooue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue: and nothing shalbe vnpossible vnto you. |
| 17:21 | Howbeit this kinde goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting. |
| 17:22 | And they being in Galile, Iesus said vnto them, The Sonne of man shall be deliuered into the handes of men, |
| 17:23 | And they shall kill him, but the thirde day shall he rise againe: and they were very sorie. |
| 17:24 | And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receiued polle money, came to Peter, and sayd, Doeth not your Master pay polle money? |
| 17:25 | He sayd, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Iesus preuented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whome doe the Kings of the earth take tribute, or polle money? of their children, or of strangers? |
| 17:26 | Peter sayd vnto him, Of strangers. Then said Iesus vnto him, Then are the children free. |
| 17:27 | Neuerthelesse, lest we should offend them: goe to the sea, and cast in an angle, and take the first fish that commeth vp, and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt finde a piece of twentie pence: that take, and giue it vnto them for me and thee. |

| 17:4 | Then answered Peter and sayde to Iesus: master here is good beinge for vs. If thou wylt leet vs make here .iii. tabernacles one for the and one for Moses and one for Helyas. |
| 17:5 | Whyll he yet spake beholde a bright cloude shadowed them. And beholde there came a voyce out of ye cloude sayinge: this is my deare sonne in whom I delite heare him. |
| 17:6 | And when the disciples hearde that they fell on their faces and were soore afrayed. |
| 17:7 | And Iesus came and touched them and sayde: aryse and be not afrayed. |
| 17:8 | And when they looked vp they saw no man saue Iesus onely. |
| 17:9 | And as they came doune from the mountayne Iesus charged them sayinge: se yt ye shewe the vision to no man vntyll the sonne of man be rysen ageyne from deeth. |
| 17:10 | And his disciples axed of him sayinge: Why then saye the scribes yt Helyas muste fyrst come? |
| 17:11 | Iesus answered and sayd vnto them: Helyas shall fyrst come and restore all thinges. |
| 17:12 | And I saye vnto you yt Helyas is come alredy and they knewe him not: but have done vnto him whatsoever they lusted. In lyke wyse shall also the sonne of man suffre of the. |
| 17:13 | Then ye disciples perceaved that he spake vnto them of Ihon baptist. |
| 17:14 | And when they were come to ye people ther cam to him a certayne man and kneled doune to him and sayde: |
| 17:15 | Master have mercy on my sonne for he is franticke: and is sore vexed. And oft tymes he falleth into the fyre and oft into ye water |
| 17:16 | And I brought him to thy disciples and they coulde not heale him. |
| 17:17 | Iesus answered and sayde: O generacion faythles and croked: how longe shall I be with you? how longe shall I suffre you? bring him hidder to me. |
| 17:18 | And Iesus rebuked the devyll and he ca out of him. And ye child was healed even yt same houre. |
| 17:19 | Then came the disciples to Iesus secretly and sayde: Why could not we cast him out? |
| 17:20 | Iesus sayd vnto the: Because of youre vnbelefe For I saye veryly vnto you: yf ye had faythe as a grayne of musterd seed ye shuld saye vnto this moutayne remove hence to yonder place and he shuld remove: nether shuld eny thinge be vnpossible for you to do. |
| 17:21 | How be it this kynde goeth not oute but by prayer and fastinge. |
| 17:22 | As they passed the tyme in Galile Iesus sayde vnto them: the sonne of man shalbe betrayed into the hondes of men |
| 17:23 | and they shall kill him and the thyrd daye he shall ryse agayne. And they sorowed greatly. |
| 17:24 | And when they were come to Capernau they yt were wont to gadre poll money came to Peter and sayde: Doth youre master paye tribute? |
| 17:25 | He sayd: ye. And when he was come into the house Iesus spake fyrst to him saying What thinkest thou Simon? of whome do ye kynges of the erth take tribute or poll money? of their chyldren or of straungers? |
| 17:26 | Peter sayde vnto him: of straungers. Then sayd Iesus vnto him agayne: Then are the chyldren fre. |
| 17:27 | Neverthelesse lest we shuld offende the: goo to ye see and cast in thyne angle and take the fysshe yt fyrst cometh vp: and when thou hast opened his mouthe thou shalt fynde a pece of twentie pence: yt take and paye for me and the. |
