| 21:10 | And whanne he was entrid in to Jerusalem, al the citee was stirid, and seide, Who is this? |
| 21:11 | But the puple seide, This is Jhesus, the prophete, of Nazareth of Galilee. |

| 21:15 | But the princis of prestis and scribis, seynge the merueilouse thingis that he dide, and children criynge in the temple, and seiynge, Osanna to the sone of Dauid, hadden indignacioun, |
| 21:16 | and seiden to hym, Herist thou what these seien? And Jhesus seide to hem, Yhe; whether ye han neuer redde, That of the mouth of yonge children, and of soukynge childryn, thou hast maad perfit heriyng? |
| 21:17 | And whanne he hadde left hem, he wente forth out of the citee, in to Bethanye; and there he dwelte, and tauyte hem of the kyngdom of God. |
| 21:18 | But on the morowe, he, turnynge ayen in to the citee, hungride. |
| 21:19 | And he saye a fige tree bisidis the weie, and cam to it, and foond no thing ther ynne but leeues oneli. And he seide to it, Neuer fruyt come forth of thee, in to with outen eende, And anoon the fige tre was dried vp. |
| 21:20 | And disciplis `sawen, and wondriden, seiynge, Hou anoon it driede. |
| 21:21 | And Jhesus answeride, and seide to hem, Treuli Y seie to you, if ye haue feith, and douten not, not oonli ye schulen do of the fige tree, but also if ye seyn to this hil, Take, and caste thee in to the see, it schal be don so. |
| 21:22 | And alle thingis what euere ye bileuynge schulen axe in preyer, ye schulen take. |
| 21:23 | And whanne he cam in to the temple, the princis of prestis and elder men of the puple camen to hym that tauyte, and seiden, In what power doist thou these thingis? and who yaf thee this power? |
| 21:24 | Jhesus answeride, and seide to hem, And Y schal axe you o word, the which if ye tellen me, Y schal seie to you, in what power Y do these thingis. |
| 21:25 | Of whennys was the baptym of Joon; of heuene, or of men? And thei thouyten with ynne hem silf, |
| 21:26 | seiynge, If we seien of heuene, he schal seie to vs, Whi thanne bileuen ye not to hym? If we seien of men, we dreden the puple, for alle hadden Joon as a prophete. |
| 21:27 | And thei answeriden to Jhesu, and seiden, We witen not. And he seide to hem, Nether Y seie to you, in what power Y do these thingis. |
| 21:28 | But what semeth to you? A man hadde twey sones; and he cam to the firste, and seide, Sone, go worche this dai in my vyneyerd. |
| 21:29 | And he answeride, and seide, Y nyle; but afterward he forthouyte, and wente forth. |
| 21:30 | But he cam to `the tother, and seide on lijk maner. And he answeride, and seide, Lord, Y go; and he wente not. |
| 21:31 | Who of the tweyne dide the fadris wille? Thei seien to hym, The firste. Jhesus seith to hem, Treuli Y seie to you, for pupplicans and hooris schulen go bifor you `in to the kyngdom of God. |
| 21:32 | For Joon cam to you in the weie of riytwisnesse, and ye bileueden not to him; but pupplicans and hooris bileueden to hym. But ye sayn, and hadden no forthenkyng aftir, that ye bileueden to hym. |
| 21:33 | Here ye another parable. There was an hosebonde man, that plauntide a vynyerd, and heggide it aboute, and dalfe a presour ther ynne, and bildide a tour, and hiride it to erthe tilieris, and wente fer in pilgrimage. |
| 21:34 | But whanne the tyme of fruytis neiyede, he sente his seruauntis to the erthe tilieris, to take fruytis of it. |
| 21:35 | And the erthetilieris token his seruauntis, and beeten `the toon, thei slowen another, and thei stonyden another. |
| 21:36 | Eftsoone he sente othere seruauntis, mo than the firste, and in lijk maner thei diden to hem. |
| 21:37 | And at the laste he sente his sone to hem, and seide, Thei schulen drede my sone. |
| 21:38 | But the erthe tilieris, seynge the sone, seiden with ynne hem silf, This is the eire; come ye, sle we hym, and we schulen haue his eritage. |
| 21:39 | And thei token, and castiden hym out of the vynyerd, and slowen hym. |
| 21:40 | Therfor whanne the lord of the vyneyerd schal come, what schal he do to thilke erthe tilieris? |
| 21:41 | Thei seien to hym, He schal leese yuele the yuele men, and he schal sette to hire his vyneyerd to othere erthetilieris, whyche schulen yelde to hym fruyt in her tymes. |
| 21:42 | Jhesus seith to hem, Redden ye neuer in scripturis, The stoon which bilderis repreueden, this is maad in to the heed of the corner? Of the Lord this thing is don, and it is merueilous bifor oure iyen. |
| 21:43 | Therfor Y seie to you, that the kyngdom of God schal be takun fro you, and shal be youun to a folc doynge fruytis of it. |
| 21:44 | And he that schal falle on this stoon, schal be brokun; but on whom it schal falle, it schal al tobrise hym. |
| 21:45 | And whanne the princes of prestis and Farisees hadden herd hise parablis, thei knewen that he seide of hem. |
| 21:46 | And thei souyten to holde hym, but thei dredden the puple, for thei hadden hym as a prophete. |
| 21:1 | And when they drewe neere to Hierusalem, and were come to Bethphage, vnto the mount of the Oliues, then sent Iesus two disciples, |
| 21:2 | Saying to them, Goe into the towne that is ouer against you, and anon yee shall finde an asse bounde, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them vnto me. |
| 21:3 | And if any man say ought vnto you, say ye, that the Lord hath neede of them, and straightway he will let them goe. |
| 21:4 | All this was done that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the Prophet, saying, |
| 21:5 | Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Beholde, thy King commeth vnto thee, meeke and sitting vpon an asse, and a colte, the foale of an asse vsed to the yoke. |
| 21:6 | So the disciples went, and did as Iesus had commanded them, |
| 21:7 | And brought the asse and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and set him thereon. |
| 21:8 | And a great multitude spred their garments in the way: and other cut downe branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. |
| 21:9 | Moreouer, the people that went before, and they also that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Sonne of Dauid, Blessed be hee that commeth in the Name of the Lord, Hosanna thou which art in the highest heauens. |
| 21:10 | And when he was come into Hierusalem, all the citie was mooued, saying, Who is this? |
| 21:11 | And the people said, This is Iesus that Prophet of Nazareth in Galile. |
| 21:12 | And Iesus went into the Temple of God, and cast out all them that solde and bought in the Temple, and ouerthrew the tables of the money chagers, and the seates of them that sold doues, |
| 21:13 | And said to them, it is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer: but ye haue made it a denne of theeues. |
| 21:14 | Then the blinde, and the halt came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. |
| 21:15 | But when the chiefe priestes and Scribes sawe the marueiles that hee did, and the children crying in the Temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Sonne of Dauid, they disdained, |
| 21:16 | And said vnto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Iesus said vnto them, Yea: read ye neuer, By the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast made perfite the praise? |
| 21:17 | So hee left them, and went out of the citie vnto Bethania, and lodged there. |
| 21:18 | And in the morning, as he returned into the citie, he was hungrie, |
| 21:19 | And seeing a figge tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaues onely, and said to it, Neuer fruite grow on thee henceforwards. And anon the figge tree withered. |
| 21:20 | And when his disciples saw it, they marueiled, saying, How soone is the figge tree withered! |
| 21:21 | And Iesus answered and said vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only doe that, which I haue done to the figge tree, but also if ye say vnto this mountaine, Take thy selfe away, and cast thy selfe into the sea, it shalbe done. |
| 21:22 | And whatsoeuer ye shall aske in prayer, if ye beleeue, ye shall receiue it. |
| 21:23 | And whe he was come into the Temple, the chiefe Priestes, and the Elders of the people came vnto him, as he was teaching, and saide, By what authoritie doest thou these things? and who gaue thee this authoritie? |
| 21:24 | Then Iesus answered and said vnto them, I also will aske of you a certaine thing, which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authoritie I doe these things. |
| 21:25 | The baptisme of Iohn, whence was it? from heauen, or of men? Then they reasoned among themselues, saying, If we shall say, From heauen, he will say vnto vs, Why did ye not then beleeue him? |
| 21:26 | And if we say, Of men, we feare the multitude, for all holde Iohn as a Prophet. |
| 21:27 | Then they answered Iesus, and said, We can not tell. And he said vnto them, Neither tell I you by what authoritie I doe these things. |
| 21:28 | But what thinke ye? A certaine man had two sonnes, and came to the elder, and saide, Sonne, goe and worke to day in my vineyarde. |
| 21:29 | But he answered, and said, I will not: yet afterward he repented himselfe, and went. |
| 21:30 | Then came he to the second, and said likewise. And he answered, and said, I will, Syr: yet he went not. |
| 21:31 | Whether of them twaine did the will of the father? They saide vnto him, The first. Iesus saide vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that the Publicanes and the harlots goe before you into the kingdome of God. |
| 21:32 | For Iohn came vnto you in the way of righteousnes, and yee beleeued him not: but the Publicanes, and the harlots beleeued him, and ye, though ye sawe it, were not mooued with repentance afterward, that ye might beleeue him. |
| 21:33 | Heare another parable, There was a certaine housholder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and made a winepresse therein, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange countrey. |
| 21:34 | And when the time of the fruite drewe neere, hee sent his seruants to the husbandmen to receiue the fruites thereof. |
| 21:35 | And ye husbandmen tooke his seruants and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. |
| 21:36 | Againe hee sent other seruants, moe then the first: and they did the like vnto them. |
| 21:37 | But last of all he sent vnto them his owne sonne, saying, They will reuerence my sonne. |
| 21:38 | But when the husbandmen saw the sonne, they saide among themselues, This is the heire: come, let vs kill him, and let vs take his inheritance. |
| 21:39 | So they tooke him, and cast him out of the vineyarde, and slewe him. |
| 21:40 | When therefore the Lord of the vineyarde shall come, what will hee doe to those husbandmen? |
| 21:41 | They saide vnto him, Hee will cruelly destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard vnto other husbandmen, which shall deliuer him the fruites in their seasons. |
| 21:42 | Iesus saide vnto them, Read ye neuer in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders refused, the same is made the head of the corner? This was the Lordes doing, and it is marueilous in our eyes. |
| 21:43 | Therefore say I vnto you, The kingdome of God shalbe taken from you, and shalbe giuen to a nation, which shall bring foorth the fruites thereof. |
| 21:44 | And whosoeuer shall fall on this stone, he shalbe broken: but on whomsoeuer it shall fall, it will dash him a pieces. |
| 21:45 | And when the chiefe Priestes and Pharises had heard his parables, they perceiued that hee spake of them. |
| 21:46 | And they seeking to laye handes on him, feared the people, because they tooke him as a Prophet. |
| 21:1 | Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent out two disciples, |
| 21:2 | saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them, and bring them to Me." |
| 21:3 | And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and he will immediately send them." |
| 21:4 | All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying: |
| 21:5 | "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to you, humble, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.'" |
| 21:6 | Then the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, |
| 21:7 | and brought the donkey and the colt, put their clothes on them, and they set Him on them. |
| 21:8 | And a very large crowd spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. |
| 21:9 | And the crowds who went before and those who followed shouted out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! Hosanna in the highest!" |
| 21:10 | And when He came into Jerusalem, the entire city was moved saying, "Who is this?" |
| 21:11 | Then the crowd said, "This is Jesus the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee." |
| 21:12 | And Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and turned over the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of those who sold doves, |
| 21:13 | and said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'" |
| 21:14 | Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. |
| 21:15 | But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children shouting in the temple, and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were very annoyed |
| 21:16 | and said to Him, "Do You hear what they are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?" |
| 21:17 | Then He left them, and went out of the city to Bethany; and He stayed there. |
| 21:18 | Now in the morning as He returned to the city, He was hungry. |
| 21:19 | And when He saw a fig tree beside the road, He came to it, and found nothing on it but only leaves, and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you ever again." And immediately the fig tree withered away. |
| 21:20 | So when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither away so suddenly!" |
| 21:21 | Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you will say to this mountain, 'Be removed, and be cast into the sea' it will be done." |
| 21:22 | And anything, whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." |
| 21:23 | Now when He came to the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?" |
| 21:24 | But Jesus answered and said to them, "I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things." |
| 21:25 | The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven, or from men?" And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "If we shall say, 'From heaven,' He will say to us, 'Why then did you not believe him?' |
| 21:26 | But if we shall say, 'From men,' we fear the crowds, because everyone counts John as a prophet." |
| 21:27 | So they answered Jesus, and said, "We do not know." And He said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. |
| 21:28 | "But what do you think? A certain man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, 'Son, go, work today in my vineyard.'" |
| 21:29 | He replied and said, 'I will not,' but afterward he repented, and went." |
| 21:30 | Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he replied and said, 'I will go, sir,' but he did not go." |
| 21:31 | Which of those two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, that tax collectors and prostitutes enter the kingdom of God before you. |
| 21:32 | Because, John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes believed him; and you, when you saw it, did not afterward repent that you might believe him." |
| 21:33 | "Hear another parable: There was a certain householder who planted a vineyard and made a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And leased it out to farmers, and went into a country far away." |
| 21:34 | Now when the time of harvest drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, that they might receive its fruit." |
| 21:35 | But the farmers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another." |
| 21:36 | Again, he sent other servants more than the first, and they did the same to them." |
| 21:37 | Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.'" |
| 21:38 | But when the farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.'" |
| 21:39 | So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him." |
| 21:40 | Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what shall he do to those farmers?" |
| 21:41 | They said to Him, "He will viciously destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other farmers who will present to him the fruits in their seasons." |
| 21:42 | Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?" |
| 21:43 | "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it." |
| 21:44 | And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder." |
| 21:45 | Now when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they perceived that He spoke about them. |
| 21:46 | But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the crowds, because, they counted Him as a prophet. |
