>
25:1Thanne the kyngdoom of heuenes schal be lijk to ten virgyns, whiche token her laumpis, and wenten out ayens the hosebonde and the wijf;
25:2and fyue of hem weren foolis, and fyue prudent.
25:3But the fyue foolis token her laumpis, and token not oile with hem;
25:4but the prudent token oile in her vessels with the laumpis.
25:5And whilis the hosebonde tariede, alle thei nappiden and slepten.
25:6But at mydnyyt a cryy was maad, Lo! the spouse cometh, go ye oute to mete with him.
25:7Thanne alle tho virgyns risen vp, and araieden her laumpis.
25:8And the foolis seiden to the wise, Yyue ye to vs of youre oile, for oure laumpis ben quenchid.
25:9The prudent answeriden, and seiden, Lest perauenture it suffice not to vs and to you, go ye rather to men that sellen, and bie to you.
25:10And while thei wenten for to bie, the spouse cam; and tho that weren redi, entreden with him to the weddyngis; and the yate was schit.
25:11And at the last the othere virgyns camen, and seiden, Lord, lord, opene to vs.
25:12And he answeride, and seide, Treuli Y seie to you, Y knowe you not.
25:13Therfor wake ye, for ye witen not the dai ne the our.
25:14For as a man that goith in pilgrimage, clepide hise seruauntis, and bitook to hem hise goodis;
25:15and to oon he yaf fyue talentis, and to another tweyne, and to another oon, to ech after his owne vertu; and wente forth anoon.
25:16And he that hadde fyue besauntis, wente forth, and wrouyte in hem, and wan othere fyue.
25:17Also and he that hadde takun tweyne, wan othere tweyne.
25:18But he that hadde takun oon, yede forth, and dalf in to the erthe, and hidde the money of his lord.
25:19But after long tyme, the lord of tho seruauntis cam, and rekenede with hem.
25:20And he that hadde takun fyue besauntis, cam, and brouyte othere fyue, and seide, Lord, thou bytokist to me fyue besauntis, loo! Y haue getun aboue fyue othere.
25:21His lord seide to hym, Wel be thou, good seruaunt and feithful; for on fewe thingis thou hast be trewe, Y schal ordeyne thee on manye thingis; entre thou in to the ioye of thi lord.
25:22And he that hadde takun twey talentis, cam, and seide, Lord, thou bitokist to me twey besauntis; loo!
25:23Y haue wonnen ouer othir tweyne. His lord seide to him, Wel be thou, good seruaunt and trewe; for on fewe thingis thou hast be trewe, Y schal ordeyne thee on many thingis; entre thou in to the ioie of thi lord.
25:24But he that hadde takun o besaunt, cam, and seide, Lord, Y woot that thou art an hard man; thou repist where thou hast not sowe, and thou gederist togidere where thou hast not spred abrood;
25:25and Y dredynge wente, and hidde thi besaunt in the erthe; lo! thou hast that that is thin.
25:26His lord answeride, and seide to hym, Yuel seruaunt and slowe, wistist thou that Y repe where Y sewe not, and gadir to gidere where Y spredde not abrood?
25:27Therfor it bihofte thee to bitake my money to chaungeris, that whanne Y cam, Y schulde resseyue that that is myn with vsuris.
25:28Therfor take awei fro hym the besaunt, and yyue ye to hym that hath ten besauntis.
25:29For to euery man that hath me schal yyue, and he schal encreese; but fro hym that hath not, also that that hym semeth to haue, schal be taken awey fro him.
25:30And caste ye out the vnprofitable seruaunt in to vtmer derknessis; ther schal be wepyng, and gryntyng of teeth.
25:31Whanne mannus sone schal come in his maieste, and alle hise aungels with hym, thanne he schal sitte on the sege of his maieste;
25:32and alle folkis schulen be gaderid bifor hym,
25:33and he schal departe hem atwynne, as a scheeperde departith scheep from kidis; and he schal sette the scheep on his riythalf, and the kidis on the lefthalf.
25:34Thanne the kyng schal seie to hem, that schulen be on his riythalf, Come ye, the blessid of my fadir, take ye in possessioun the kyngdoom maad redi to you fro the makyng of the world.
25:35For Y hungride, and ye yauen me to ete; Y thristide, and ye yauen me to drynke; Y was herboreles, and ye herboriden me;
25:36nakid, and ye hiliden me; sijk, and ye visitiden me; Y was in prisoun, and ye camen to me.
25:37Thanne iust men schulen answere to hym, and seie, Lord, whanne siyen we thee hungry, and we fedden thee; thristi, and we yauen to thee drynk?
25:38and whanne sayn we thee herborles, and we herboreden thee; or nakid, and we hiliden thee?
25:39or whanne sayn we thee sijk, or in prisoun, and we camen to thee?
25:40And the kyng answerynge schal seie to hem, Treuli Y seie to you, as longe as ye diden to oon of these my leeste britheren, ye diden to me.
25:41Thanne the kyng schal seie also to hem, that schulen be on his lefthalf, Departe fro me, ye cursid, in to euerlastynge fijr, that is maad redi to the deuel and hise aungels.
25:42For Y hungride, and ye yauen not me to ete; Y thristide, and ye yauen not me to drynke;
25:43Y was herborles, and ye herberden not me; nakid, and ye keuerden not me; sijk, and in prisoun, and ye visitiden not me.
25:44Thanne and thei schulen answere to hym, and schulen seie, Lord, whanne sayn we thee hungrynge, or thristynge, or herboreles, or nakid, or sijk, or in prisoun, and we serueden not to thee?
25:45Thanne he schal answere to hem, and seie, Treuli Y seie to you, `hou longe ye diden not to oon of these leeste, nether ye diden to me.
25:46And these schulen goo in to euerlastynge turment; but the iust men schulen go in to euerlastynge lijf.

25:1Then ye kyngdome of heven shalbe lykened vnto .x. virgins which toke their lampes and wet to mete the brydgrome:
25:2fyve of them were folysshe and fyve were wyse.
25:3The folysshe toke their lampes but toke none oyle wt the.
25:4But ye wyse tooke oyle wt the in their vesselles wt their lampes also.
25:5Whill the brydgrome taryed all slombred and slepte.
25:6And even at mydnyght there was a crye made: beholde the brydgrome cometh goo out against him.
25:7Then all those virgins arose and prepared their lampes.
25:8And ye folysshe sayde to ye wyse: geve vs of youre oyle for our lampes goo out?
25:9but ye wyse answered sayinge. Not so lest ther be not ynough for vs and you: but goo rather to them yt sell and by for youre selves.
25:10And whill they went to bye ye brydgrome came: and they yt were redy went in with him to ye weddinge and the gate was shett vp:
25:11Afterwardes came also ye other virgins sayinge: master master open to vs.
25:12But he answered and sayde: verely I saye vnto you: I knowe not you.
25:13Watche therefore: for ye knowe nether the daye nor yet the houre when the sonne of man shall come.
25:14Lykwyse as a certeyne ma redy to take his iorney to a straunge coutre called his servautes and delivered to them his gooddes.
25:15And vnto one he gave .v. talentes to another .ii. and to another one: to every man after his abilite and streyght waye departed.
25:16Then he that had receaved the fyve talentes went and bestowed them and wanne other fyve talentes.
25:17Lykwyse he that receaved .ii. gayned other .ii.
25:18But he yt receaved ye one went and digged a pit in the erth and hyd his masters money.
25:19After a longe season ye lorde of those servauntes came and rekened with the.
25:20Then came he yt had receaved fyve talentes and brought other fyve talentes sayinge: master thou deliveredst vnto one fyve talentes: beholde I have gayned wt the fyve talentes moo.
25:21The his master sayde vnto him: well good servaut and faithfull. Thou hast bene faithfull in lytell I will make the ruler over moche: entre in into thy masters ioye.
25:22Also he that receaved .ii. talentes came and sayde: master thou deliveredest vnto me .ii. talentes: beholde I have wone .ii. other talentes with them.
25:23And his master sayde vnto him well good servaunt and faithfull. Thou hast bene faithfull in lytell I wyll make the ruler over moche: go in into thy masters ioye.
25:24Then he which had receaved ye one talent came and sayd: master I considered yt thou wast an harde man which repest where thou sowedst not and gadderest where thou strawedst not
25:25and was therfore afrayde and went and hyd thy talent in ye erth: Beholde thou hast thyn awne.
25:26His master answered and sayde vnto him: thou evyll servaut and slewthfull thou knewest yt I repe where I sowed not and gaddre where I strawed not:
25:27thou oughtest therfore to have had my money to ye chaugers and then at my comynge shulde I have receaved myne awne with vauntage.
25:28Take therfore the talent from him and geve it vnto him which hath .x. talentes.
25:29For vnto every man that hath shalbe geven and he shall have aboundance: and from him that hath not shalbe taken awaye even that he hath.
25:30And cast yt vnprofitable servaunt into vtter dercknes: there shalbe wepynge and gnasshinge of teeth.
25:31When the sonne of ma cometh in his glorie and all the holy angels wt him then shall he syt vpon the seate of his glorie
25:32and before him shalbe Gaddred all nacions. And he shall seperate the one from a nother as a shepherde deuideth the shepe from the gootes.
25:33And he shall set the shepe on his right honde and the gotes on the lyfte.
25:34Then shall the kynge saye to them on his right honde: Come ye blessed chyldren of my father inheret ye the kyngdo prepared for you from the beginninge of the worlde.
25:35For I was anhongred and ye gave me meate. I thursted and ye gave me drinke. I was herbourlesse and ye lodged me.
25:36I was naked and ye clothed me. I was sicke and ye visited me. I was in preson and ye came vnto me.
25:37Then shall ye righteous answere him sayinge master whe sawe we ye anhongred and feed the? or a thurst and gave ye drinke?
25:38when sawe we ye herbourlesse and lodged the? or naked and clothed the?
25:39or when sawe we the sicke or in preson and came vnto the?
25:40And ye kynge shall answere and saye vnto them: verely I saye vnto you: in as moche as ye have done it vnto one of ye leest of these my brethren ye have done it to me.
25:41Then shall the kynge saye vnto them that shalbe on the lyfte hande: departe from me ye coursed into everlastinge fire which is prepared for the devyll and his angels.
25:42For I was an hungred and ye gave me no meate. I thursted and ye gave me no drinke.
25:43I was herbourlesse and ye lodged me not. I was naked and ye clothed me not. I was sicke and in preson and ye visited me not.
25:44Then shall they also answere him sayinge: master when sawe we the an hungred or a thurst or herbourlesse or naked or sicke or in preson and did not ministre vnto the?
25:45Then shall he answere the and saye: Verely I saye vnto you in as moche as ye did it not to one of ye leest of these ye did it not to me.
25:46And these shall go into everlastinge payne: And the righteous into lyfe eternall.

25:1Then shal the kyngdome of heauen be like vnto ten virgins, which toke their lapes, and wente forth to mete the brydegome.
25:2But fyue of them were foolish, and fyue were wyse.
25:3The foolish toke their lapes, neuertheles they toke none oyle with them.
25:4But the wyse toke oyle in their vessels with their lampes.
25:5Now whyle the brydegrome taried, they slombred all and slepte.
25:6But at mydnight there was a crye made: Beholde, the brydegrome commeth, go youre waye out for to mete him.
25:7Then all those virgins arose, and prepared their lampes.
25:8But the foolish sayde vnto the wyse: geue vs of youre oyle, for oure lapes are gone out.
25:9Then answered the wyse, and sayde: Not so, lest there be not ynough for vs and you, but go rather vnto them that sell, and bye for youre selues.
25:10And whyle they wente to bye, the brydegrome came: and they that were readye, wente in with him vnto the mariage, and the gate was shut vp.
25:11At ye last came ye other virgins also, and sayde: LORDE LORDE, opo vnto vs.
25:12But he answered, and sayde: Verely I saye vnto you: I knowe you not.
25:13Watch ye therfore, for ye knowe nether the daye ner yet the houre, whan ye sonne of man shal come.
25:14Like wyse as a certayne ma ready to take his iourney into a straunge countre, called his seruautes, and delyuered his goodes vnto the.
25:15And vnto one he gaue fyue talentes, to another two, and to another one: vnto euery man after his abilyte, and straight waye departed.
25:16Then he that had receaued the fyue talentes, wente and occupied with the same, and wanne other fyue talentes.
25:17Likewyse he yt receaued two talentes, wane other two also.
25:18But he that receaued ye one wente and dygged a pyt in the earth, and hyd his lordes money.
25:19After a longe season the lorde of those seruauntes came, and rekened with them.
25:20Then came he that had receaued fyue talentes, and brought other fyue talentes, and sayde: Syr, thou delyuerdst vnto me fyue talentes:Beholde, with them haue I wonne fyue taletes mo.
25:21Then sayde his lorde vnto hi: wel thou good & faithfull seruaunt, thou hast bene faithfull ouer litle, I wil set the ouer moch: entre thou in to the ioye of thy lorde.
25:22The came he also that had receaued two talentes, and sayde: Syr, thou delyuerdst vnto me two talentes: Beholde, I haue wonne two other taletes with the.
25:23His lorde sayde vnto him: Wel thou good and faithfull seruaut, thou hast bene faithfull ouer litle, I wil set the ouer moch: entre thou in to the ioye of thy lorde.
25:24Then he that had receaued the one talet, came and sayde: Syr, I knew that thou art an hard man: thou reapest where thou hast not sowen, and gatherest where thou hast not strowed,
25:25and so I was afrayed, and wete and hyd thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast thine owne.
25:26But his lorde answered, and sayde vnto him: Thou euell and slouthfull seruaunt, knewest thou that I reape where I sowed not, and gather where I strawed not?
25:27Thou shuldest therfore haue had my money to the chaungers, and then at my commynge shulde I haue receaued myne owne with vauntage.
25:28Therfore take the talent fro him, and geue it vnto him that hath ten talentes.
25:29For who so hath, to him shalbe geuen, and he shal haue abundaunce. But who so hath not, fro him shalbe take awaye euen that he hath.
25:30And cast the vnprofitable seruaunt in to vtter darcknes: there shalbe waylinge and gnasshinge of teth.
25:31But whan the sonne of man shal come in his glory, and all holy angels with him, then shal he syt vpon the seate of his glory.
25:32And all people shalbe gathered before him: and he shal separate them one from another as a shepherde deuydeth the shepe from ye goates.
25:33And he shal set ye shepe on his right honde, and the goates on the lefte.
25:34Then shal the kynge saye vnto them that shalbe on his right honde: Come hither ye blessed of my father, inheret ye ye kingdome, which is prepared for you from the begynnynge of the worlde.
25:35For I was hongrie, and ye gaue me meate: I was thirstie, and ye gaue me drynke: I was harbourlesse, and ye lodged me:
25:36I was naked, & ye clothed me: I was sicke, and ye vysited me: I was in preson, and ye came vnto me.
25:37Then shal the righteous answere him, & saye: LORDE, whe sawe we the hogrie, and fed the? Or thirstie, and gaue the drynke?
25:38When sawe we the herbourlesse, and lodged the? Or naked, and clothed ye?
25:39Or whe sawe we ye sicke or in preson, and came vnto the?
25:40And the kynge shal answer and saye vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you: Loke what ye haue done vnto one of the least of these my brethren, the same haue ye done vnto me.
25:41Then shal he saye also vnto them that shalbe on the left hande: Departe fro me ye cursed in to the euerlastinge fyre, which is prepared for the deuell and his angels.
25:42For I was hogrie, and ye gaue me no meate: I was thirstye, and ye gaue me no drynke:
25:43I was herbourlesse, and ye lodged me not: I was naked, and ye clothed me not: I was sicke and in preson, and ye vysited me not.
25:44Then shal they also answere hi, and saye: LORDE, when sawe we the hogrie, or thyrstie, or herbourlesse, or naked, or sicke, or in preson, and haue not mynistred vnto the?
25:45The shal he answere them, and saye: Verely I saye vnto you: Loke what ye haue not done vnto one of the leest of these, the same haue ye not done vnto me.
25:46And these shal go in to euerlastinge payne, but the righteous in to euerlastinge life.
