18:1	And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
18:2	And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
18:3	And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
18:4	And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
18:5	And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
18:6	And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
18:7	Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest's office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
18:8	And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever.
18:9	This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons.
18:10	In the most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat it: it shall be holy unto thee.
18:11	And this is thine; the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them unto thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in thy house shall eat of it.
18:12	All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee.
18:13	And whatsoever is first ripe in the land, which they shall bring unto the LORD, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it.
18:14	Every thing devoted in Israel shall be thine.
18:15	Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.
18:16	And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.
18:17	But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
18:18	And the flesh of them shall be thine, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are thine.
18:19	All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee.
18:20	And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.
18:21	And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
18:22	Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.
18:23	But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
18:24	But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
18:25	And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
18:26	Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.
18:27	And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress.
18:28	Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD'S heave offering to Aaron the priest.
18:29	Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
18:30	Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
18:31	And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
18:32	And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.


18:1	ויאמר יהוה אל אהרן אתה ובניך ובית אביך אתך תשׂאו את עון המקדשׁ ואתה ובניך אתך תשׂאו את עון כהנתכם׃
18:2	וגם את אחיך מטה לוי שׁבט אביך הקרב אתך וילוו עליך וישׁרתוך ואתה ובניך אתך לפני אהל העדת׃
18:3	ושׁמרו משׁמרתך ומשׁמרת כל האהל אך אל כלי הקדשׁ ואל המזבח לא יקרבו ולא ימתו גם הם גם אתם׃
18:4	ונלוו עליך ושׁמרו את משׁמרת אהל מועד לכל עבדת האהל וזר לא יקרב אליכם׃
18:5	ושׁמרתם את משׁמרת הקדשׁ ואת משׁמרת המזבח ולא יהיה עוד קצף על בני ישׂראל׃
18:6	ואני הנה לקחתי את אחיכם הלוים מתוך בני ישׂראל לכם מתנה נתנים ליהוה לעבד את עבדת אהל מועד׃
18:7	ואתה ובניך אתך תשׁמרו את כהנתכם לכל דבר המזבח ולמבית לפרכת ועבדתם עבדת מתנה אתן את כהנתכם והזר הקרב יומת׃
18:8	וידבר יהוה אל אהרן ואני הנה נתתי לך את משׁמרת תרומתי לכל קדשׁי בני ישׂראל לך נתתים למשׁחה ולבניך לחק עולם׃
18:9	זה יהיה לך מקדשׁ הקדשׁים מן האשׁ כל קרבנם לכל מנחתם ולכל חטאתם ולכל אשׁמם אשׁר ישׁיבו לי קדשׁ קדשׁים לך הוא ולבניך׃
18:10	בקדשׁ הקדשׁים תאכלנו כל זכר יאכל אתו קדשׁ יהיה׃
18:11	וזה לך תרומת מתנם לכל תנופת בני ישׂראל לך נתתים ולבניך ולבנתיך אתך לחק עולם כל טהור בביתך יאכל אתו׃
18:12	כל חלב יצהר וכל חלב תירושׁ ודגן ראשׁיתם אשׁר יתנו ליהוה לך נתתים׃
18:13	בכורי כל אשׁר בארצם אשׁר יביאו ליהוה לך יהיה כל טהור בביתך יאכלנו׃
18:14	כל חרם בישׂראל לך יהיה׃
18:15	כל פטר רחם לכל בשׂר אשׁר יקריבו ליהוה באדם ובבהמה יהיה לך אך פדה תפדה את בכור האדם ואת בכור הבהמה הטמאה תפדה׃
18:16	ופדויו מבן חדשׁ תפדה בערכך כסף חמשׁת שׁקלים בשׁקל הקדשׁ עשׂרים גרה הוא׃
18:17	אך בכור שׁור או בכור כשׂב או בכור עז לא תפדה קדשׁ הם את דמם תזרק על המזבח ואת חלבם תקטיר אשׁה לריח ניחח ליהוה׃
18:18	ובשׂרם יהיה לך כחזה התנופה וכשׁוק הימין לך יהיה׃
18:19	כל תרומת הקדשׁים אשׁר ירימו בני ישׂראל ליהוה נתתי לך ולבניך ולבנתיך אתך לחק עולם ברית מלח עולם הוא לפני יהוה לך ולזרעך אתך׃
18:20	ויאמר יהוה אל אהרן בארצם לא תנחל וחלק לא יהיה לך בתוכם אני חלקך ונחלתך בתוך בני ישׂראל׃
18:21	ולבני לוי הנה נתתי כל מעשׂר בישׂראל לנחלה חלף עבדתם אשׁר הם עבדים את עבדת אהל מועד׃
18:22	ולא יקרבו עוד בני ישׂראל אל אהל מועד לשׂאת חטא למות׃
18:23	ועבד הלוי הוא את עבדת אהל מועד והם ישׂאו עונם חקת עולם לדרתיכם ובתוך בני ישׂראל לא ינחלו נחלה׃
18:24	כי את מעשׂר בני ישׂראל אשׁר ירימו ליהוה תרומה נתתי ללוים לנחלה על כן אמרתי להם בתוך בני ישׂראל לא ינחלו נחלה׃
18:25	וידבר יהוה אל משׁה לאמר׃
18:26	ואל הלוים תדבר ואמרת אלהם כי תקחו מאת בני ישׂראל את המעשׂר אשׁר נתתי לכם מאתם בנחלתכם והרמתם ממנו תרומת יהוה מעשׂר מן המעשׂר׃
18:27	ונחשׁב לכם תרומתכם כדגן מן הגרן וכמלאה מן היקב׃
18:28	כן תרימו גם אתם תרומת יהוה מכל מעשׂרתיכם אשׁר תקחו מאת בני ישׂראל ונתתם ממנו את תרומת יהוה לאהרן הכהן׃
18:29	מכל מתנתיכם תרימו את כל תרומת יהוה מכל חלבו את מקדשׁו ממנו׃
18:30	ואמרת אלהם בהרימכם את חלבו ממנו ונחשׁב ללוים כתבואת גרן וכתבואת יקב׃
18:31	ואכלתם אתו בכל מקום אתם וביתכם כי שׂכר הוא לכם חלף עבדתכם באהל מועד׃
18:32	ולא תשׂאו עליו חטא בהרימכם את חלבו ממנו ואת קדשׁי בני ישׂראל לא תחללו ולא תמותו׃


18:1	And Jehovah saith unto Aaron, `Thou, and thy sons, and the house of thy father with thee, do bear the iniquity of the sanctuary; and thou, and thy sons with thee, do bear the iniquity of your priesthood;
18:2	and also thy brethren, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring near with thee, and they are joined unto thee, and serve thee, even thou and thy sons with thee, before the tent of the testimony.
18:3	`And they have kept thy charge, and the charge of all the tent; only, unto the vessels of the sanctuary and unto the altar they do not come near, and they die not, either they or you;
18:4	and they have been joined unto thee, and have kept the charge of the tent of meeting, for all the service of the tent; and a stranger doth not come near unto you;
18:5	and ye have kept the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar, and there is no more wrath against the sons of Israel.
18:6	`And I, lo, I have taken your brethren the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel; to you a gift they are given by Jehovah, to do the service of the tent of meeting;
18:7	and thou, and thy sons with thee, do keep your priesthood, for everything of the altar, and within the vail, and ye have served; a service of gift I make your priesthood; and the stranger who is coming near is put to death.'
18:8	And Jehovah speaketh unto Aaron: `And I, lo, I have given to thee the charge of My heave-offerings, of all the hallowed things of the sons of Israel -- to thee I have given them for the anointing, and to thy sons, by a statute age-during.
18:9	This is thine of the most holy things, from the fire: all their offering, to all their present, and to all their sin-offering, and to all their guilt-offering, which they give back to Me, is most holy to thee, and to thy sons;
18:10	in the holy of holies thou dost eat it; every male doth eat it; holy it is to thee.
18:11	`And this `is' thine: the heave-offering of their gift, to all the wave-offerings of the sons of Israel, to thee I have given them, and to thy sons, and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute age-during; every clean one in thy house doth eat it;
18:12	all the best of the oil, and all the best of the new wine, and wheat -- their first-`fruits' which they give to Jehovah -- to thee I have given them.
18:13	`The first-fruits of all that `is' in their land, which they bring in to Jehovah, are thine; every clean one in thy house doth eat it;
18:14	every devoted thing in Israel is thine,
18:15	every one opening a womb of all flesh which they bring near to Jehovah, among man and among beast, is thine; only, thou dost certainly ransom the first-born of man, and the firstling of the unclean beast thou dost ransom.
18:16	`And their ransomed ones from a son of a month, thou dost ransom with thy valuation, of silver, five shekels, by the shekel of the sanctuary, twenty gerahs it `is'.
18:17	`Only, the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou dost not ransom, holy they `are': their blood thou dost sprinkle on the altar, and of their fat thou makest perfume, a fire-offering of sweet fragrance to Jehovah,
18:18	and their flesh is thine, as the breast of the wave-offering, and as the right leg, it is thine;
18:19	all the heave-offerings of the holy things which the sons of Israel lift up to Jehovah I have given to thee and to thy sons, and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute age-during, a covenant of salt, age-during it `is' before Jehovah, to thee and to thy seed with thee.'
18:20	And Jehovah saith unto Aaron, `In their land thou dost not inherit, and a portion thou hast not in their midst: I `am' thy portion, and thine inheritance in the midst of the sons of Israel;
18:21	and to the sons of Levi, lo, I have given all the tenth in Israel for inheritance in exchange for their service which they are serving -- the service of the tent of meeting.
18:22	`And the sons of Israel come no more near unto the tent of meeting, to bear sin, to die,
18:23	and the Levites have done the service of the tent of meeting, and they -- they bear their iniquity; a statute age-during to your generations, that in the midst of the sons of Israel they have no inheritance;
18:24	but the tithe of the sons of Israel which they lift up to Jehovah, a heave-offering, I have given to the Levites for inheritance; therefore I have said of them, In the midst of the sons of Israel they have no inheritance.'
18:25	And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
18:26	`And unto the Levites thou dost speak; and thou hast said unto them, When ye take from the sons of Israel the tithe which I have given to you from them, for your inheritance, then ye have lifted up from it the heave-offering of Jehovah, a tithe of the tithe;
18:27	and your heave-offering hath been reckoned to you as corn from the threshing-floor, and as fulness from the wine-vat;
18:28	so ye do lift up -- ye also -- the heave-offering of Jehovah from all your tithes which ye receive from the sons of Israel; and ye have given from it the heave-offering of Jehovah to Aaron the priest;
18:29	out of all your gifts ye do lift up the whole heave-offering of Jehovah; out of all its fat, -- its hallowed part -- out of it.
18:30	`And thou hast said unto them, In your lifting up its fat out of it, then it hath been reckoned to the Levites, as increase of a threshing-floor, and as increase of a wine-vat;
18:31	and ye have eaten it in every place, ye and your households, for it `is' your hire in exchange for your service in the tent of meeting;
18:32	and ye bear no sin for it, in your lifting up its fat out of it, and the holy things of the sons of Israel ye do not pollute, and ye die not.'
