| 5:2 | And when he was come oute of the shyppe, there met hym oute of the graues a man possessed of an vncleane spirite, |
| 5:3 | whiche had hys abydyng among the graues. And no man coulde bynde him: no not with chaynes, |
| 5:4 | because that when he was often bounde with fetters and chayns, he plucked the chayns a sunder, & brake the fetters in peces. Neyther coulde any man tame him. |
| 5:5 | And alwayes both nyght and daye he cryed in the mountaynes & in the graues, and bet hym self with stones. |
| 5:6 | When he had spyed Iesus a far of, he ranne & worshypped hym |
| 5:7 | and cryed with a loude voyce, and sayde: what haue I to do with a loude voyce, and sayde: what haue I to do with the Iesus the sonne of the most hyest God? I requyre the in the name of God that thou torment me not. |
| 5:8 | For he had sayde vnto hym: come out of the man thou foule spirite. |
| 5:9 | And he axed him: what is thy name. And he answered sayinge: my name is Legyon, for we are manye. |
| 5:10 | And he prayed hym instantly, that he woulde not sende them awaye out of the countre. |
| 5:11 | And there was there nye vnto the mountaynes a great herde of swyne fedyng, |
| 5:12 | and al the deuyls besought hym, saying: sende vs into the herde of swyne, that we may enter into them. |
| 5:13 | And anone Iesus gaue them leaue. And the vncleane spirites went out and entred into the swyne. And the herde startled, and ranne hedlynge into the sea. They were aboute two .M. swyne & they were drouned in the sea. |
| 5:14 | And the swyne herdes fleed, and tolde it in the cytye, and in the countre. And they came out for to se what had happened: |
| 5:15 | and came to Iesus, and sawe hym that was vexed with the fende, and had the legion syte, both clothed and in hys ryght mynde, & were afrayed, |
| 5:16 | And they that sawe it, tolde them how it had happened to him that was possessed with the deuyl: and also of the swyne. |
| 5:17 | And they beganne to praye hym, that he woulde departe from their coostes. |
| 5:18 | And when he was come into the shyppe, he that hadde the deuel, prayed hym that he might be with him. |
| 5:19 | How beit, Iesus woulde not suffer him, but sayde vnto him: go home into thine owne house and to thy frendes, and shewe them what greate thinges the Lord hath done vnto the, and how he had compassion on the. |
| 5:20 | And he departed, & began to publishe in the ten cyties what great thinges Iesus had done vnto him, and all men did meruayll. |
| 5:21 | And when Iesus was come ouer agayne by ship vnto the otherside, much people gathered vnto him, and he was nye vnto the sea. |
| 5:22 | And beholde, there came one of the rulers of the Sinagoges, whose name was Iarius: and when he sawe him, he fell doune at his fete, |
| 5:23 | & besought hym greatly sayinge: my doughter lyeth at point of death, I woulde thou wouldest come and laye thy hande on her, that she might be safe and lyue. |
| 5:24 | And he went with hym, and muche people folowed him, & thronged him. |
| 5:25 | And there was a certayn woman, whiche was diseased of an yssue of bloude .xij. yeres, |
| 5:26 | and had suffred many thynges of many phisicions, and had spent all that she had, and felte none amendement at all, but wexed worse & worse. |
| 5:27 | When she had herde of Iesus: she came into the preace behinde hym, and touched hys garment. |
| 5:28 | For she thought: if I maye but touch his clothes, I shalbe whole. |
| 5:29 | And streightway her fountayne of bloude was dryed vp, and she felft in her bodye, that she was healed of the plague. |
| 5:30 | And Iesus immediatly felte in hym selfe, the vertu that went out of hym, and tourned him rounde about in the preace, & sayde: who touched my clothes? |
| 5:31 | And his disciples sayde vnto him: seist thou the people thruste the, and yet axest, who did touche me? |
| 5:32 | And he loked rounde about, for to se her that had done that thing. |
| 5:33 | The woman feared and trembled (for she knew what was done within her) and she came and fell doune before him, and tolde the trueth of euery thinge. |
| 5:34 | And he sayde to her: Doughter, thy faythe hath made the whole: go in peace, and by whole of thy plage. |
| 5:35 | Whyle he yet spake, there came frome the ruler of the Synagoges house, certayn which sayde: thy doughter is dead: why diseasest thou the maister any further? |
| 5:36 | Assone as Iesus herd that worde spoken, he sayd vnto the ruler of the Synagoge: be not afrayed, onely beleue. |
| 5:37 | And he suffred no man to folow him mo then Peter and Iames and Ihon the brother of Iames. |
| 5:38 | And he came vnto the house of the ruler of the Synagoge, and sawe the wondringe, & them that wepte and wayled greatly, |
| 5:39 | & went in and sayde vnto them: why make ye this a do and wepe? The mayden is not dead, but slepeth. |
| 5:40 | And thy laught him to scorne. Then he put them all out, and toke the father & the mother of the mayden, & them that were with hym, and entred in where the mayden laye, |
| 5:41 | & toke the mayden by the hande, and sayd vnto her: Talitha cumi: which is by interpretacion: mayden I saye vnto the aryse. |
| 5:42 | And streyght the mayden arose, and went on her fete. For she was of the age of twelue yeres. And thei were astonyed at it out of measur. |
| 5:43 | And he charged them straytely that no man shoulde know of it, and commaunded to geue her meate. |

| 5:14 | And the swineheards fled, and told it in the citie, and in the countrey, and they came out to see what it was that was done. |
| 5:15 | And they came to Iesus, and sawe him that had bene possessed with the deuil, and had the legion, sit both clothed, and in his right minde: and they were afraide. |
| 5:16 | And they that saw it, tolde them, what was done to him that was possessed with the deuil, and concerning the swine. |
| 5:17 | Then they began to pray him, that hee would depart from their coastes. |
| 5:18 | And when he was come into the shippe, he that had bene possessed with the deuil, prayed him that he might be with him. |
| 5:19 | Howbeit, Iesus would not suffer him, but said vnto him, Goe thy way home to thy friendes, and shewe them what great thinges the Lord hath done vnto thee, and howe hee hath had compassion on thee. |
| 5:20 | So he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis, what great things Iesus had done vnto him: and all men did marueile. |
| 5:21 | And when Iesus was come ouer againe by ship vnto the other side, a great multitude gathered together to him, and he was neere vnto the sea. |
| 5:22 | And beholde, there came one of the rulers of the Synagogue, whose name was Iairus: and when he sawe him, he fell downe at his feete, |
| 5:23 | And besought him instantly, saying, My litle daughter lyeth at point of death: I pray thee that thou wouldest come and lay thine hands on her, that she may be healed, and liue. |
| 5:24 | Then hee went with him, and a great multitude folowed him, and thronged him. |
| 5:25 | (And there was a certaine woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelue yeeres, |
| 5:26 | And had suffred many things of many physicions, and had spent all that she had, and it auailed her nothing, but she became much worse. |
| 5:27 | When she had heard of Iesus, shee came in the preasse behinde, and touched his garment. |
| 5:28 | For she said, If I may but touch his clothes, I shalbe whole. |
| 5:29 | And straightway the course of her blood was dried vp, and she felt in her body, that she was healed of that plague. |
| 5:30 | And immediatly when Iesus did knowe in himselfe the vertue that went out of him, he turned him round about in the preasse, and said, Who hath touched my clothes? |
| 5:31 | And his disciples said vnto him, Thou seest the multitude throng thee, and sayest thou, Who did touche me? |
| 5:32 | And he looked round about, to see her that had done that. |

| 5:42 | And straightway the damosell arose, and walked, for shee was of the age of twelue yeeres: and they were astonished with a great astonishment. |
