6:4And Iesus sayde vnto them: a Prophet is not dispised but in his owne countre, and amonge his owne kinne, and amonge them that are of the same housholde.
6:5And he could there shewe no miracles, but layd his handes vpon a few sicke folke and healed them.

6:16But when Herode hearde of hym, he sayde: it is Ihon whome I beheaded, he is rysen from death agayne.
6:17For Herode him selfe had sent forth, & had taken Ihon, and bounde him and cast him into pryson for Herodias sake, whiche was hys brother Philippes wyfe: For he had maried her.
6:18Ihon sayd vnto Herode: It is not lawful for the to haue thy brothers wyfe.
6:19Herodias layed wayte for him, and woulde haue killed him, but she could not.
6:20For Herode feared Iohan, knowinge that he was a iust man and an holy: and gaue him reuerence: and when he hearde hym, he did many thynges, and heard him gladly.
6:21But when a conuement daye was come: Herode on his byrth day made a supper to the lordes, captaynes, and chief estates of Galile.
6:22And the doughter of the sayd Herodias came in and daunsed, and pleased Herode, and them that sate at bourde also. Then the kyng sayde vnto the mayden: axe of me what thou wilt, & I wil geue it the.
6:23And he sware to her, whatsoeuer thou shalt axe of me, I wil geue it the, euen vnto the halfe of my kyngdome.
6:24And she went forth & sayde to her mother: what shal I axe? And she said: Ihon Baptistes head.
6:25And she came in straight way with haste vnto the kynge, and axed saying: I wil that thou geue me by and by in a charger the head of Ihon Baptist.
6:26And the kynge was excedinge sory: howbeit, for his othes sake, and for their sakes, whiche sate at supper also, he woulde not put her beside her purpose.
6:27And immediatly the kynge sent the hang man, and commaunded his headde to be brought in. And he went and beheaded hym in the pryson,
6:28and brought his head in a charger, and gaue it to the mayden, and the maiden gaue it to her mother.
6:29And when his disciples heard of it, they came and toke vp his body, and put it in a tombe.
6:30And the apostles gathered them selues together to Iesus, & tolde him all thinges, bothe what they had done, & what they had taught.
6:31And he sayde vnto them: Come ye a parte into the wildernes and rest a while. For there were many commers and goers, that they had no leasure so muche as to eate.
6:32And he went by ship out of the wai into a desert place.
6:33But the people spied them when they departed: & many knew him and ranne afote thither out of all cyties, and came thither before them, & came together vnto hym.
6:34And Iesus went out and sawe muche people, and had compassion on them, because they were lyke shepe, whyche had no shepeherd. And he beganne to teache them many thinges.
6:35And when the daye was now farre spent, his disciples came vnto him saying: this is a deserte place,
6:36and nowe the daye is farre passed, let them departe, that they maye go into the countrey roundabout, and into the tounes and bye them bread, for they haue nothing to eate.
6:37He aunswered and sayd vnto them: geue ye them to eate. And they sayd vnto him: shal we go and bye .ij.C. peny worth of bread and geue them to eate?
6:38He sayde vnto them: howe many loues haue ye? Go and loke. And when they had serched they sayde: fyue and .ij. fishes
6:39And he commaunded them to make them all sit doune by companyes vpon the grene grasse.
6:40And they sat doune, here a rowe and there a rowe, by hundredes, and fifties.
6:41And he toke the .v. loues and the .ij. fishes, and loked vp to heauen, and blessed and brake the loues & gaue them to his disciples to put before theym: and the .ij. fishes he deuided amonge them all.
6:42And they all did eate and were satisfied.
6:43And they toke vp .xij. baskettes ful of the gobbettes and of the fishes.
6:44And they that eate were aboute fyue thousand men.
6:45And strayghtwaye he caused his disciples to go into the ship, and to goo ouer the water before vnto Bethsaida, whyle he sent away the people.
6:46And assone as he had sent them away, he departed into a mountayne to pray.
6:47And when euen was come, the ship was in the middes of the sea, and he alone on the lande,
6:48and he sawe them troubled in rowing, for the winde was contrary vnto them. And about the fourth quarter of the night he came vnto them walking vpon the sea, and woulde haue passed by them.
6:49When they sawe hym walking vpon the sea, they supposed it hadde bene a spirite and cried out:
6:50for they all sawe hym, and were afrayed. And anone he talked with them, and sayde vnto them. Be of good chere, it is I, be not afrayed.
6:51And he went vp vnto them into the ship, and the wynd ceased, and they were sore amased in them selues beyonde measure, and meruayled.
6:52For they remembred not of the loues, because their hertes were blynded.
6:53And they came ouer and went into the lande of Genezareth, and drue vp into the hauen.
6:54And assone as they were come out of the ship, strayght they knewe hym,
6:55and ran forth thorowout all the region round about, and began to cary aboute in beddes all that were sicke, to the place where they herde tell he was.
6:56And whether so euer he entred into townes, cities, or vilages, they layed theyr sicke in the stretes and prayed hym, that they might touche, and it were but the hemme of his vesture. And as many as touched hym were safe.

6:1And he departed thence, and came into his owne countrey, and his disciples followed him.
6:2And when the Sabbath was come, he began to teach in the Synagogue, and many that heard him, were astonied, and sayd, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdome is this that is giuen vnto him, that euen such great workes are done by his hands?
6:3Is not this that carpenter Maries sonne, the brother of Iames and Ioses, and of Iuda and Simon? and are not his sisters here with vs? And they were offended in him.
6:4Then Iesus sayd vnto them, A Prophet is not without honour, but in his owne countrey, and among his owne kindred, and in his own house.
6:5And he could there doe no great workes, saue that hee layd his hands vpon a fewe sicke folke, and healed them,
6:6And he marueiled at their vnbeliefe, and went about by ye townes on euery side, teaching.
6:7And he called vnto him the twelue, and began to send them forth two and two, and gaue them power ouer vncleane spirits,
6:8And commanded them that they should take nothing for their iourney, saue a staffe onely: neither scrip, neither bread, neither money in their girdles:
6:9But that they should be shod with sandals, and that they should not put on two coates.
6:10And he sayd vnto them, Wheresoeuer ye shall enter into an house, there abide till ye depart thence.
6:11And whosoeuer shall not receiue you, nor heare you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust that is vnder your feete, for a witnes vnto them. Verely I say vnto you, It shalbe easier for Sodom, or Gomorrha at the day of iudgement, then for that citie.
6:12And they went out, and preached, that men should amend their liues.
6:13And they cast out many deuils: and they anointed many that were sicke, with oyle, and healed them.
6:14Then King Herod heard of him (for his name was made manifest) and sayd, Iohn Baptist is risen againe from the dead, and therefore great workes are wrought by him.
6:15Other sayd, It is Elias, and some sayd, It is a Prophet, or as one of those Prophets.
6:16So when Herod heard it, he said, It is Iohn whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.
6:17For Herod him selfe had sent forth, and had taken Iohn, and bound him in prison for Herodias sake, which was his brother Philippes wife, because he had maried her.
6:18For Iohn sayd vnto Herod, It is not lawfull for thee to haue thy brothers wife.
6:19Therefore Herodias layd waite against him, and would haue killed him, but she could not:
6:20For Herod feared Iohn, knowing that hee was a iust man, and an holy, and reuerenced him, and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
6:21But the time being conuenient, when Herod on his birth day made a banket to his princes and captaines, and chiefe estates of Galile:
6:22And the daughter of the same Herodias came in, and daunced, and pleased Herod, and them that sate at table together, the King sayd vnto the mayde, Aske of me what thou wilt, and I will giue it thee.
6:23And he sware vnto her, Whatsoeuer thou shalt aske of me, I will giue it thee, euen vnto the halfe of my kingdome.
6:24So she went forth, and said to her mother, What shall I aske? And she said, Iohn Baptists head.
6:25Then she came in straightway with haste vnto the King, and asked, saying, I would that thou shouldest giue me euen now in a charger the head of Iohn Baptist.
6:26Then the King was very sory: yet for his othes sake, and for their sakes which sate at table with him, he would not refuse her.
6:27And immediatly the King sent the hangman, and gaue charge that his head shoulde be brought in. So he went and beheaded him in the prison,
6:28And brought his head in a charger, and gaue it to the maide, and the maide gaue it to her mother.
6:29And when his disciples heard it, they came and tooke vp his body, and put it in a tombe.
6:30And the Apostles gathered themselues together to Iesus, and tolde him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
6:31And he sayd vnto them, Come ye apart into the wildernes, and rest a while: for there were many commers and goers, that they had not leasure to eate.
6:32So they went by ship out of the way into a desart place.
6:33But the people sawe them when they departed, and many knewe him, and ran a foote thither out of all cities, and came thither before them, and assembled vnto him.
6:34Then Iesus went out, and sawe a great multitude, and had compassion on them, because they were like sheepe which had no shepheard: and he began to teach them many things.
6:35And when the day was nowe farre spent, his disciples came vnto him, saying, This is a desart place, and nowe the day is farre passed.
6:36Let them depart, that they may goe into the countrey and townes about, and buy them bread: for they haue nothing to eate.
6:37But he answered, and said vnto them, Giue yee them to eate. And they said vnto him, Shall we goe, and buy two hundreth peny worth of bread, and giue them to eate?
6:38Then he sayde vnto them, Howe many loaues haue ye? goe and looke. And when they knewe it, they sayd, Fiue, and two fishes.
6:39So he commanded them to make them all sit downe by companies vpon the greene grasse.
6:40Then they sate downe by rowes, by hundreds, and by fifties.
6:41And he tooke the fiue loaues, and the two fishes, and looked vp to heauen, and gaue thanks, and brake the loaues, and gaue them to his disciples to set before them, and the two fishes he deuided among them all.
6:42So they did all eate, and were satisfied.
6:43And they tooke vp twelue baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
6:44And they that had eaten, were about fiue thousand men.
6:45And straightway he caused his disciples to goe into the ship, and to goe before vnto the other side vnto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
6:46Then assoone as he had sent them away, he departed into a mountaine to pray.
6:47And when euen was come, the ship was in the mids of the sea, and he alone on the land.
6:48And he saw them troubled in rowing, (for the winde was contrary vnto them) and about the fourth watch of the night, hee came vnto them, walking vpon the sea, and would haue passed by them.
6:49And when they saw him walking vpon the sea, they supposed it had bene a spirit, and cried out.
6:50For they all saw him, and were sore afrayd: but anon he talked with them, and said vnto them, Be ye of good comfort: it is I, be not afrayd.
6:51Then he went vp vnto them into the ship, and the winde ceased, and they were much more amased in them selues, and marueiled.
6:52For they had not considered the matter of the loaues, because their hearts were hardened.
6:53And they came ouer, and went into the land of Gennesaret, and arriued.
6:54So when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knewe him,
6:55And ran about throughout all that region round about, and began to cary hither and thither in couches all that were sicke, where they heard that he was.
6:56And whithersoeuer he entred into townes, or cities, or villages, they laide their sicke in the streetes, and prayed him that they might touch at the least the edge of his garment. And as many as touched him, were made whole.

6:1And hee went out from thence, and came into his owne countrey, and his disciples follow him.
6:2And when the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the Synagogue: and many hearing him, were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? And what wisedome is this which is giuen vnto him, that euen such mightie workes are wrought by his hands?
6:3Is not this the carpenter, the sonne of Mary, the brother of Iames and Ioses, and of Iuda, and Simon? And are not his sisters heere with vs? And they were offended at him.
6:4But Iesus sayde vnto them, A Prophet is not without honour, but in his owne countrey, and among his owne kinne, and in his owne house.
6:5And he could there doe no mightie worke, saue that he laid his hands vpon a few sicke folke, and healed them.
6:6And he marueiled because of their vnbeliefe. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
6:7And he calleth vnto him the twelue, and began to send them foorth, by two and two, and gaue them power ouer vncleane spirits,
6:8And commanded them that they should take nothing for their iourney, saue a staffe onely: no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
6:9But be shod with sandales: and not put on two coats.
6:10And he said vnto them, In what place soeuer yee enter into an house, there abide til ye depart from that place.
6:11And whosoeuer shall not receiue you, nor heare you, when yee depart thence, shake off the dust vnder your feet, for a testimonie against them: Uerely I say vnto you, it shalbe more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of iudgement, then for that citie.
6:12And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
6:13And they cast out many deuils, and anointed with oyle many, that were sicke, and healed them.
6:14And king Herod heard of him (for his name was spread abroad:) and hee said that Iohn the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mightie workes doe shew foorth themselues in him.
6:15Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a Prophet, or as one of the Prophets.
6:16But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is Iohn, whome I beheaded, he is risen from the dead.
6:17For Herod himselfe had sent forth and laid hold vpon Iohn, and bound him in prison for Herodias sake, his brother Philips wife, for hee had maried her.
6:18For Iohn had said vnto Herod, It is not lawfull for thee to haue thy brothers wife.
6:19Therfore Herodias had a quarrel against him, & would haue killed him, but she could not.
6:20For Herod feared Iohn, knowing that he was a iust man, and an holy, and obserued him: and when he heard him, hee did many things, and heard him gladly.
6:21And when a conuenient day was come, that Herod on his birth day made a supper to his lords, high captaines, and chiefe estates of Galilee:
6:22And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod, and them that sate with him, the king said vnto the damosell, Aske of me whatsoeuer thou wilt, and I will giue it thee.
6:23And he sware vnto her, Whatsoeuer thou shalt aske of me, I will giue it thee, vnto the halfe of my kingdome.
6:24And she went forth, and said vnto her mother, What shall I aske? And she said, The head of Iohn ye Baptist.
6:25And she came in straightway with haste, vnto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou giue me by and by in a charger, the head of Iohn the Baptist.
6:26And the king was exceeding sory, yet for his othes sake, and for their sakes which sate with him, hee would not reiect her.
6:27And immediatly the king sent an executioner, and commaunded his head to be brought, and he went, and beheaded him in the prison,
6:28And brought his head in a charger, and gaue it to the damosell, and the damosell gaue it to her mother.
6:29And when his disciples heard of it, they came and tooke vp his corpse, and laid it in a tombe.
6:30And the Apostles gathered themselues together vnto Iesus, and tolde him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
6:31And he said vnto them, Come yee your selues apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many comming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eate.
6:32And they departed into a desert place by ship priuately.
6:33And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ranne afoote thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together vnto him.
6:34And Iesus when he came out, saw much people, and was moued with compassion toward them, because they were as sheepe not hauing a shepherd: and hee beganne to teach them many things.
6:35And when the day was now far spent, his Disciples came vnto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is farre passed.
6:36Send them away, that they may goe into the countrey round about, and into the villages, and buy themselues bread: for they haue nothing to eate.
6:37He answered and said vnto them, Giue yee them to eate. And they say vnto him, Shall we goe and buy two hundred penniworth of bread, and giue them to eate?
6:38He saith vnto them, How many loaues haue yee? goe, and see. And when they knew, they say, Fiue, and two fishes.
6:39And he commanded them to make all sit downe by companies vpon the greene grasse.
6:40And they sate downe in rankes by hundreds, and by fifties.
6:41And when he had taken the fiue loaues, and the two fishes, he looked vp to heauen, and blessed, and brake the loaues, and gaue them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes diuided he among them all.
6:42And they did all eate, and were filled.
6:43And they tooke vp twelue baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
6:44And they that did eate of the loaues, were about fiue thousand men.
6:45And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to goe to the other side before vnto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
6:46And when hee had sent them away, he departed into a mountaine to pray.
6:47And when Euen was come, the ship was in the midst of the Sea, and he alone on the land.
6:48And he saw them toiling in rowing (for the wind was contrary vnto them:) and about the fourth watch of the night, he commeth vnto them, walking vpon the Sea, and would haue passed by them.
6:49But when they saw him walking vpon the Sea, they supposed it had bene a spirit, and cried out.
6:50(For they all saw him, and were troubled) and immediately hee talked with them, and saith vnto them, Be of good cheere, It is I, be not afraid.
6:51And hee went vp vnto them into the ship, and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselues beyond measure, and wondered.
6:52For they considered not the miracle of the loaues, for their heart was hardened.
6:53And when they had passed ouer, they came into the land of Genesareth, and drew to the shore.
6:54And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,
6:55And ran through that whole region round about, and beganne to carrie about in beds, those that were sicke, where they heard he was.
6:56And whithersouer he entred, into villages, or cities, or countrie, they laide the sicke in the streetes, & besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him, were made whole.
