>
7:1And the Pharyses came together vnto hym, & dyuers of the Scrybes whych came from Ierusalem.
7:2And when they sawe certaine of his discyples eate bread wyth commen (that is to saye, with vnwesshen) handes, they complayned.
7:3For the Pharyses and all the Iewes, excepte they wasshe theyr handes ofte, eate not, obseruyng the tradicyons of the elders.
7:4And when they come from the market, except they washe, they eate not. And many other thynges there be, which they haue taken vpon them to obserue, as the wasshynge of cuppes and cruses, and, brasen vessels, and of tables.
7:5Then asked hym the Pharyses & Scribes: why walke not thy dyscyples accordyng to the custome, ordeyned by the elders, but eate bread wyth vnwasshen handes?
7:6He answered & sayd vnto them: well prophesyed Esayas of you, ypocrytes, as it is wrytten: Thys people honoreth me wyth theyr lyppes, but theyr herte is farre from me:
7:7howbeit, in vayne do they serue me, teachyng the doctrines and commaundementes of men.
7:8For ye laye the commaundement of God a parte, & obserue the constitucyons of men, as the wesshinge of cruses & of cuppes, and many other soch lyke thynges ye do.
7:9And he sayde vnto them: well, ye cast a syde the commaundement of God, to mayntayne youre awne constitucyons.
7:10For Moses sayd: honoure thy father & thy mother: & whoso curseth father or mother, let him dye the death.
7:11But ye saye: a man shall saye to father or mother, Corban: whych is: what gyfte soeuer commeth fro me, shalbe for thy profyt.
7:12And so ye suffre him no more to do ought for hys father or his mother,
7:13and make the worde of God of none effecte, through youre awne constitucyon whych ye haue ordeyned. And many soche thynges do ye.
7:14And whan he had called all the people vnto hym, he sayde vnto them: herken vnto me, euery one of you, and vnderstande.
7:15There is nothynge wyth out a man that can defyle him, when it entreth into him: but the thynges whych proceade out of a man, those are they that defyle the man.
7:16If eny man haue eares to heare, let hym heare.
7:17And when he came in to the house awaye from the people, his discyples asked him of the symilitude.
7:18And he sayd vnto them: are ye also so greatly wyth out vnderstandinge? Do ye not yet perceaue, that what soeuer thynge from wtout, entreth into a man, it cannot defyle him,
7:19because it entreth not into his hert but into the bely: & goeth out into the draught, pourgyng out all meates?
7:20And he sayde: that whych commeth out of a man
7:21defyleth the man. For from wyth in, euen out of the herte of men proceade euyll thoughtes, aduoutry, fornicacyon, murther,
7:22theft, couetousnes, fraude, deceyte, vnclennes, a wycked eye, blasphemyes, pryde, folyshnes:
7:23all these euyll thynges come from wt in, and defyle a man.
7:24And from thence he rose, & went into the borders of Tyre & Sidon: & entred into an house, & wolde that no man shuld haue knowen. But he coulde not be hyd.
7:25For a certayne woman (whose daughter had a foule sprete) as soone as she heard of hym, came, and fell at hys fete.
7:26The woman was a Greke out of the nacyon of Syrophenicia, & she besought him, that he wolde cast out the deuyl from her daughter.
7:27But Iesus sayd vnto her: let the chyldren fyrst be fedd. For it is not mete, to take the chyldrens bread, and to cast it vnto whelpes.
7:28She answered & sayde vnto hym: euen so lorde, neuerthelesse, the whelpes also eat vnder the table of the chyldrens cromes.
7:29And he sayde vnto her: for thys sayinge go thy waye, the deuyl is gone out of thy daughter.
7:30And when she was come home to her house, she founde that the deuyll was departed, and her daughter lyinge on the bedd.
7:31And he departed agayne from the coastes of Tyre and Sidon, and came vnto the see of Galile thorow the myddes of the coastes of the ten cyties.
7:32And they broughte vnto him one that was deaffe and had an impediment in hys speche, and they prayd hym to put his hande vpon him.
7:33And when he had taken hym asyde from the people, he put hys fyngers into hys eares, and dyd spyt, & touched hys tonge,
7:34and loked vp to heauen, and syghed, and sayde vnto hym: Ephata, that is to saye, be opened.
7:35And strayght waye his eares were opened, and the stryng of his tounge was lowsed, and he spake playne.
7:36And he commaunded them, that they shulde tell no man. But the more he forbad them, so moch the more a greate deale they publisshed,
7:37saying: He hath done all thynges well, he hath made both the deaffe to heare, and the dome to speake.

7:7and in veyn thei worschipen me, techinge the doctrines and the heestis of men.
7:8For ye leeuen the maundement of God, and holden the tradiciouns of men, wasschyngis of watir vessels, and of cuppis; and many othir thingis lijk to these ye doon.
7:9And he seide to hem, Wel ye han maad the maundement of God voide, `to kepe youre tradicioun.
7:10For Moyses seide, Worschipe thi fadir and thi modir; and he that cursith fadir or modir, die he by deeth.

7:19for it hath not entrid in to his herte, but in to the wombe, and bynethe it goith out, purgynge alle metis.
7:20But he seide, The thingis that gon out of a man, tho defoulen a man.
7:21For fro with ynne, of the herte of men comen forth yuel thouytis, auowtries,

7:29And Jhesus seide to hir, Go thou, for this word the feend wente out of thi douytir.

7:1And there came vnto him the Pharises, and certayne of the scrybes, that were come from Ierusale.
7:2And wha they sawe certayne of his disciples eate bred with comon (that is, with vnwashen) handes, they complayned.
7:3For the Pharises & all the Iewes eate not, excepte they wash their handes oft tymes: obseruynge so the tradicions of the elders.
7:4And whan they come from the market, they eate not, excepte they wasshe. And many other thynges there be, which they haue taken vpon them to obserue, as the washinge of cuppes and cruses, and brasen vessels and tables.
7:5Then the Pharises and scrybes axed him: Why walke not thy disciples after the tradicions of the elders, but eate bred with vnwasshen handes?
7:6But he answered & sayde vnto them: Full well hath Esay prophecied of you Ypocrytes, as it is wrytte: This people honoureth me wt their lippes, but their hert is farre fro me.
7:7But in vayne do they serue me, whyle they teach soch doctrynes as are nothinge but the commaundemetes of me.
7:8Ye leaue the comaundement of God and kepe the tradicions of men, as the wasshynge of cruses and cuppes, & many soch thinges do ye.
7:9And he saide vnto the: How goodly haue ye cast asyde the comaundement of God, to manteyne youre owne tradicions?
7:10For Moses sayde: Honoure father & mother. Whoso curseth father and mother, shal dye the death.
7:11But ye saye: A ma shal saye to father or mother: Corban, that is, The thinge yt I shulde helpe the withall, is geue vnto God.
7:12And thus ye suffre him nomore to do ought for his father or his mother,
7:13& make Gods worde of none effecte, thorow youre owne tradicions that ye haue set vp. And many soch thinges do ye.
7:14And he called vnto him all the people, and sayde vnto them: Herken vnto me ye all, and vnderstonde me.
7:15There is nothinge without a man, that can defyle him, whan it entreth in to him. But that goeth out of him, that is it that maketh the man vncleane.
7:16Yf eny man haue eares to heare, let him heare.
7:17And whan he came from the people in to ye house, his disciples axed him of this symilitude.
7:18And he sayde vnto them: Are ye so then without vnderstondinge? Perceaue ye not yet, yt euery thinge which is without, and goeth in to the ma, can not defyle him?
7:19For it entreth not in to his hert, but in to ye bely, and goeth out in to the draught, that purgeth all meates.
7:20And he sayde: The thinge that goeth out of the man,
7:21that defyleth the man. For from within out of the hert of man proceade euell thoughtes, aduoutrye, whordome, murthur,
7:22theft, coueteousnes, wickednes, disceate, vnclennes, a wicked eye, blasphemy, pryde, foolishnes.
7:23All these euell thinges go from within, and defyle the man.
7:24And he arose, and wente from thence in to the borders of Tyre and Sydon, & entred in to an house, and wolde let no man knowe of it, and yet coude he not be hyd:
7:25For a certayne woman (whose doughter had a foule sprete) herde of him, and came and fell downe at his fete

7:28She answered and sayde vnto him: Yee LORDE, neuertheles the whelpes also eate vnder ye table, of ye childres cromes.
7:29And he sayde vnto her: Because of this sayenge go thy waye, the deuell is departed out of thy doughter.
7:30And she wente vnto her house, & founde that the deuell was departed, and hir doughter lyenge on the bed.
7:31And whan he wente out agayne from the coastes of Tyre and Sydon, he came vnto the see of Galile, thorw the myddes of ye coastes of the te cities.
7:32And they brought vnto him one that was deaf, and had impediment in his speach. And they prayed him, that he wolde laye his hande vpon him.
7:33And he toke him a syde from the people, and put his fyngers in his eares, and dyd spyt, and touched his tonge,
7:34and loked vp vnto heauen, sighed, and sayde vnto him: Ephatha, that is, be opened.
7:35And immediatly his eares were opened, and the bonde of his toge was lowsed, and he spake right.
7:36And he charged them, that they shulde tell noman. But the more he forbad them, the more they published it,
7:37& marueyled out of measure, and sayde: He hath done all thinges well. The deaf hath he made to heare, and the domme to speake.
