Mark - Chapter: 10

>
10:1And he rose from thence, & commeth into the coasts of Iudea by the farther side of Iordan: and the people resort vnto him againe, and as he was wont, he taught them againe.
10:2And the Pharises came to him, and asked him, Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
10:3And he answered, and saide vnto them, What did Moses command you?
10:4And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away.
10:5And Iesus answered, and said vnto them, For the hardnesse of your heart, he wrote you this precept.
10:6But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male, and female.
10:7For this cause shall a man leaue his father and mother, and cleaue to his wife,
10:8And they twaine shalbe one flesh: so then they are no more twaine, but one flesh.
10:9What therefore God hath ioyned together, let not man put asunder.
10:10And in the house his disciples asked him againe of the same matter.
10:11And he saith vnto them, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
10:12And if a woman shall put away her husband, and bee married to another, she committeth adulterie.
10:13And they brought yong children to him, that he should touch them, and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
10:14But when Iesus saw it, hee was much displeased, and said vnto them, Suffer the little children to come vnto mee, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
10:15Uerily I say vnto you, Whosoeuer shall not receiue the kingdome of God as a little childe, he shall not enter therein.
10:16And hee tooke them vp in his armes, put his handes vpon them, and blessed them.
10:17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good master, what shall I doe that I may inherit eternall life?
10:18And Iesus said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? There is no man good, but one, that is God.
10:19Thou knowest the Commandements, Doe not commit adulterie, Doe not kill, Doe not steale, Doe not beare false witnesse, Defraud not, Honour thy father, and mother.
10:20And hee answered, and saide vnto him, Master, all these haue I obserued from my youth.
10:21Then Iesus beholding him, loued him, and said vnto him, One thing thou lackest; Goe thy way, sell whatsoeuer thou hast, and giue to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, take vp the crosse & folow me.
10:22And hee was sad at that saying, and went away grieued: for hee had great possessions.
10:23And Iesus looked round about, and saith vnto his disciples, How hardly shall they that haue riches enter into the kingdome of God?
10:24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Iesus answereth againe, and saith vnto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches, to enter into the kingdom of God?
10:25It is easier for a camel to goe thorow the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
10:26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselues, Who then can be saued?
10:27And Iesus looking vpon them, saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
10:28Then Peter began to say vnto him, Loe, we haue left all, and haue followed thee.
10:29And Iesus answered, and said, Uerily I say vnto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the Gospels,
10:30But hee shall receiue an hundred fold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternall life:
10:31But many that are first, shall be last: and the last, first.
10:32And they were in the way going vp to Hierusalem: and Iesus went before them, and they were amazed, and as they followed, they were afraid: and he tooke againe the twelue, and began to tell them what things should happen vnto him,
10:33Saying, Behold, we go vp to Hierusalem, and the Sonne of man shall be deliuered vnto the chiefe Priests, and vnto the Scribes: and they shall condemne him to death, and shall deliuer him to the Gentiles.
10:34And they shall mocke him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit vpon him, and shall kill him, and the third day he shall rise againe.
10:35And Iames, and Iohn the sonnes of Zebedee come vnto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for vs whatsoeuer we shall desire.
10:36And hee saide vnto them, What would ye that I should doe for you?
10:37They said vnto him, Grant vnto vs that wee may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
10:38But Iesus said vnto them, Yee know not what ye aske: Can ye drinke of the cup that I drinke of? and be baptized with the baptisme that I am baptized with?
10:39And they said vnto him, Wee can. And Iesus said vnto them, Ye shall indeed drinke of the cup that I drinke of: and with the baptisme that I am baptized withall, shall ye be baptized:
10:40But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand, is not mine to giue, but it shall be giuen to them for whom it is prepared.
10:41And when the ten heard it, they beganne to bee much displeased with Iames and Iohn.
10:42But Iesus called them to him, and saith vnto them, Yee know that they which are accompted to rule ouer the Gentiles, exercise Lordship ouer them: and their great ones exercise authoritie vpon them.
10:43But so shall it not be among you: but whosoeuer will bee great among you, shall be your minister:
10:44And whosoeuer of you will bee the chiefest, shalbe seruant of all.
10:45For euen the Sonne of man came not to bee ministred vnto, but to minister, and to giue his life a ransome for many.
10:46And they came to Iericho: and as he went out of Iericho with his disciples, and a great number of people; blinde Bartimeus, the son of Timeus, sate by the high wayes side, begging.
10:47And when he heard that it was Iesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Iesus thou Sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
10:48And many charged him, that he should hold his peace: But he cried the more a great deale, Thou Sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:49And Iesus stood still, and commanded him to bee called: and they call the blinde man, saying vnto him, Be of good comfort, rise, he calleth thee.
10:50And hee casting away his garment, rose, and came to Iesus.
10:51And Iesus answered, and said vnto him, What wilt thou that I should doe vnto thee? The blinde man said vnto him, Lord, that I might receiue my sight.
10:52And Iesus saide vnto him, Goe thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole: And immediatly hee receiued his sight, & followed Iesus in the way.

10:1And he arose from thence, and went into the coastes of Iudea by the farre side of Iordan, and the people resorted vnto him againe, and as he was wont, he taught them againe.
10:2Then the Pharises came and asked him, if it were lawfull for a man to put away his wife, and tempted him.
10:3And he answered, and sayde vnto them, What did Moses commaund you?
10:4And they sayd, Moses suffered to write a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away.
10:5Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, For the hardnesse of your heart he wrote this precept vnto you.
10:6But at the beginning of the creation God made them male and female:
10:7For this cause shall man leaue his father and mother, and cleaue vnto his wife.
10:8And they twaine shalbe one flesh: so that they are no more twaine, but one flesh.
10:9Therefore, what God hath coupled together, let not man separate.
10:10And in the house his disciples asked him againe of that matter.
10:11And he sayd vnto them, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife and marrie another, committeth adulterie against her.
10:12And if a woman put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adulterie.
10:13Then they brought litle children to him, that he should touch them, and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
10:14But when Iesus sawe it, he was displeased, and said to them, Suffer the litle children to come vnto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
10:15Verely I say vnto you, Whosoeuer shall not receiue the kingdome of God as a litle childe, he shall not enter therein.
10:16And he tooke them vp in his armes, and put his hands vpon them, and blessed them.
10:17And when hee was gone out on the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I doe, that I may possesse eternall life?
10:18Iesus sayde to him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, euen God.
10:19Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not steale. Thou shalt not beare false witnesse. Thou shalt hurt no man. Honour thy father and mother.
10:20Then he answered, and said to him, Master, all these things I haue obserued from my youth.
10:21And Iesus looked vpon him, and loued him, and sayde vnto him, One thing is lacking vnto thee. Go and sell all that thou hast, and giue to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, follow me, and take vp the crosse.
10:22But hee was sad at that saying, and went away sorowfull: for he had great possessions.
10:23And Iesus looked round about, and sayd vnto his disciples, Howe hardly doe they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!
10:24And his disciples were afraide at his words. But Iesus answered againe, and sayd vnto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches, to enter into the kingdome of God!
10:25It is easier for a camel to goe through the eye of a needle, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.
10:26And they were much more astonied, saying with themselues, Who then can be saued?
10:27But Iesus looked vpon them, and sayd, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
10:28Then Peter began to say vnto him, Loe, we haue forsaken all, and haue folowed thee.
10:29Iesus answered, and sayd, Verely I say vnto you, there is no man that hath forsaken house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my sake and the Gospels,
10:30But he shall receiue an hundred folde, now at this present, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come, eternall life.
10:31But many that are first, shall be last, and the last, first.
10:32And they were in the way going vp to Hierusalem, and Iesus went before them and they were troubled, and as they followed, they were afraide, and Iesus tooke the twelue againe, and began to tell them what things should come vnto him,
10:33Saying, Beholde, we goe vp to Hierusalem, and the Sonne of man shall be deliuered vnto the hie Priests, and to the Scribes, and they shall condemne him to death, and shall deliuer him to the Gentiles.
10:34And they shall mocke him, and scourge him, and spit vpon him, and kill him: but the third day he shall rise againe.
10:35Then Iames and Iohn the sonnes of Zebedeus came vnto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest doe for vs that we desire.
10:36And he sayd vnto them, What would ye I should doe for you?
10:37And they said to him, Graunt vnto vs, that we may sit, one at thy right hand, and the other at thy left hand in thy glory.
10:38But Iesus sayd vnto them, Ye knowe not what ye aske. Can ye drinke of the cup that I shall drinke of, and be baptized with the baptisme that I shall be baptized with?
10:39And they said vnto him, We can. But Iesus sayd vnto them, Ye shall drinke in deede of the cup that I shall drinke of, and be baptized with the baptisme wherewith I shalbe baptized:
10:40But to sit at my right hand, and at my left, is not mine to giue, but it shalbe giuen to them for whome it is prepared.
10:41And when the ten heard that, they began to disdaine at Iames and Iohn.
10:42But Iesus called them vnto him, and sayd to them, Ye know that they which are princes among the Gentiles, haue domination ouer them, and they that be great among them, exercise authoritie ouer them.
10:43But it shall not be so among you: but whosoeuer will be great among you, shall be your seruant.
10:44And whosoeuer will be chiefe of you, shall be the seruant of all.
10:45For euen the Sonne of man came not to be serued, but to serue, and to giue his life for the raunsome of many.
10:46Then they came to Iericho: and as he went out of Iericho with his disciples, and a great multitude, Bartimeus the sonne of Timeus, a blinde man, sate by the wayes side, begging.
10:47And when hee heard that it was Iesus of Nazareth, he began to crye, and to say, Iesus the Sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:48And many rebuked him, because he should holde his peace: but hee cryed much more, O Sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:49Then Iesus stood still, and commanded him to be called: and they called the blind, saying vnto him, Be of good comfort: arise, he calleth thee.
10:50So he threwe away his cloke, and rose, and came to Iesus.
10:51And Iesus answered, and said vnto him, What wilt thou that I doe vnto thee? And the blinde sayd vnto him, Lord, that I may receiue sight.
10:52Then Iesus sayde vnto him, Goe thy way: thy fayth hath saued thee. And by and by, he receiued his sight, and folowed Iesus in the way.

10:1And whan he rose from thence, he went into the coastes of Iurye through the regyon that is beyonde Iordan: And the people resorted vnto hym a freshe. and as he was wont, he taught them agayne.
10:2And the Pharyses came, and asked hym. Is it lawfull for a man to put awaye hys wyfe: to proue hym.
10:3And he answered, and sayd vnto them: what dyd Moses byd you do:
10:4and they sayde, Moses suffered to wryte a testimonall of deuorsement, and to put her awaye.
10:5And Iesus answered and sayde vnto them: For the hardnes of youre herte he wrote thys precept vnto you.
10:6But at the fyrst creacyon. God made them man and woman.
10:7Therfore shall a man leaue hys father & mother, & byde by, hys wyfe,
10:8& they twayne shalbe one fleshe. So then are they now not twayne, but one fleshe.
10:9Therfore, what God hath coupled together let not man separate.
10:10And in the house hys discyples asked him againe of the same matter.
10:11And he sayeth vnto them. Whosoeuer putteth awaye hys wyfe, & maryeth another, breaketh wedlocke to her warde.
10:12And yf a woman forsake her husband, and be maryed to another, she commytteth aduoutrye.
10:13And they brought chyldren to hym, that he shulde touch them. And hys discyples rebuked those that brought them.
10:14But when Iesus sawe it, he was dyspleased & sayd vnto them: Suffre the children to come vnto me, forbyd them not. For of soch is the kyngdome of God.
10:15Uerely I saye vnto you, whosoeuer doth not receaue the kyngdome of God as a childe, he shal not entre therin.
10:16And whan he had taken them vp in hys armes, he put his handes vpon them, and blessed them.
10:17And when he was gone forth into the waye, ther came one runnynge and kneled to hym, & asked hym: good master, what shal I do, that I maye enheret eternall lyfe?
10:18Iesus sayde vnto hym: why callest thou me good? There is no man good, but one, which is God.
10:19Thou knowest the commaundementes: breake not matrimony: kyll not: steale not, beare no false wytnes: defraude no man: honoure thy father and mother.
10:20He answered and sayd vnto hym: Master, all these, I haue obserued from my youth.
10:21Iesus behelde hym, and fauoured hym, and sayd vnto hym: one thynge thou lackest. Go thy waye Sell that thou hast, and geue to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, folowe me and take vp my crosse vpon thy shulders.
10:22But he was discomforted because of that sayinge, and went awaye mournyng for he had great possessyons.
10:23And whan Iesus had looked rounde aboute, he sayde vnto his discyples. How vneasye shall they that haue money: entre into the kyngdome of God.
10:24And the discyples were astonnyed at hys wordes. But Iesus answereth againe, & sayeth vnto them: children, how harde is it for them, that trust in money, to entre into the kingdome of God?
10:25It is easyer for a camell to go thorow the eye of an nedle, then for the ryche to entre into the kyngdome of God.
10:26And they were astonnyed out of measure, sayinge betwene them selues: who then can be saued?
10:27Iesus loked vpon them, and sayd. with men it is vnpossible, but not with God: for with God all thynges are possyble.
10:28And Peter beganne to saye vnto hym: Lo: We haue forsaken all, & haue folowed the.
10:29Iesus answered, & sayde: Uerely I saye vnto you, ther is no man that hath forsaken house, or brethren, or systers, or father, or mother, or wyfe, or chyldren, or landes for my sake & the Gospelles,
10:30but he shall receaue an hundred foold nowe in this lyfe, houses and brethren, and systers, and mothers, and chyldren, and landes wyth persecucyons: & in the worlde to come, eternall lyfe.
10:31But many that are fyrst, shalbe last: & the last, fyrst.
10:32And they were in the waye goynge vp to Ierusalem. And Iesus went before them, and they were amased, & folowed, and were afrayde. And Iesus toke the twelue agayne, and beganne to tell them what thynges shulde happen vnto hym.
10:33Beholde, we go vp to Ierusalem, & the sonne of man shalbe delyuered vnto the hye Prestes and vnto the Scribes: and they shall condemne hym to deeth, and shall delyuer hym to the gentyls,
10:34and they shall mocke hym, and scourge hym, spyt vpon him, and kyll hym. And thyrde daye he shall ryse agayne.
10:35And Iames and Iohn the sonnes of Zebede came vnto him, sayinge: Master: we wolde, that thou shuldest do for vs whatsoeuer we desyre.
10:36He sayde vnto them: what wolde ye that I shuld do for you?
10:37They sayde vnto hym: graunt vnto vs, that we maye sytte, one on thy ryght hande, and the other on thy lyfte hande, in thy glory.
10:38But Iesus sayd vnto them: Ye wote not what ye aske: Can ye dryncke of the cup, that I dryncke of? and be baptysed wyth the baptyme, that I am baptysed with?
10:39And they sayde vnto hym: that we can. Iesus sayde vnto them: ye shall in dede dryncke of the cup that I dryncke of: and wyth the baptyme that I am baptysed wyth all, shall ye be baptysed in:
10:40but to syt on my ryght hande & on my lyfte hande, is not myne to geue, but it shall happen vnto them, for whom it is prepared.
10:41And when the ten hearde it, they began to dysdayne at Iames and Iohn.
10:42But Iesus whan he had called them to hym, sayd vnto them: ye knowe, that they whych are sene to beare rule amonge the people, raygne as Lordes ouer them.
10:43And they that be greate amonge them, exercyse auctoryte vpon them. Neuertheles, so shall it not be amonge you: but whosoeuer of you wylbe greate amonge you, shalbe youre mynister.
10:44And whosoeuer wylbe chefe, shalbe seruaunt of all.
10:45For the sonne of man also came not to be mynystred vnto: but to mynister, and to geue hys lyfe for the redempcyon of many.
10:46And they came to Hierico: And as he went out of the cytie of Hierico wyth his dyscyples, and a greate nombre of people: blynde Bartymeus the sonne of Tymeus, sate by the hye wayes syde beggyng.
10:47And when he hearde that it was Iesus of Nazazeth, be began to crye, and to saye: Iesus, thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
10:48And many rebuked hym, that he shuld holde hys peace. But he cryed the more a greate deale: thou sonne of Dauid haue mercy on me.
10:49And Iesus stode styll, and commaunded hym to be called: And they called the blynde, sayinge vnto hym: Be of good comforte: ryse he calleth the.
10:50And he threwe awaye hys cloke, and rose, and came to Iesus.
10:51And Iesus answered, and sayde vnto hym: what wylt thou that I do vnto the? The blynde sayde vnto hym: Master, that I myght se.
10:52Iesus sayde vnto hym: go thy waye, thy fayth hath saued the. And immediatly he receaued hys syght, & folowed Iesus in the waye.
