Luke - Chapter: 10

>
10:1After these things, the Lord appointed other seuenty also, and sent them two and two before his face, into euery citie and place, whither hee himselfe would come.
10:2Therefore said hee vnto them, The haruest truly is great, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the haruest, that he would send foorth labourers into his haruest.
10:3Go your wayes: Behold, I send you forth as lambes among wolues.
10:4Cary neither purse nor scrip, nor shoes, and salute no man by the way.
10:5And into whatsoeuer house yee enter, first say, Peace bee to this house.
10:6And if the sonne of peace be there, your peace shall rest vpon it: if not, it shall turne to you againe.
10:7And in the same house remaine, eating and drinking such things as they giue: For the labourer is worthy of his hire. Goe not from house to house.
10:8And into whatsoeuer citie yee enter, and they receiue you, eate such things as are set before you:
10:9And heale the sicke that are therein, and say vnto them, The kingdome of God is come nigh vnto you.
10:10But into whatsoeuer citie yee enter, and they receiue you not, goe your waies out into the streetes of the same, and say,
10:11Euen the very dust of your citie which cleaueth on vs, we doe wipe off against you: notwithstanding, be yee sure of this, that the kingdome of God is come nigh vnto you.
10:12But I say vnto you, That it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodome, then for that citie.
10:13Woe vnto thee Chorazin, wo vnto thee Bethsaida: For if the mighty workes had beene done in Tyre and Sidon, which haue beene done in you, they had a great while agoe repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
10:14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the iudgment, then for you.
10:15And thou Capernaum, which art exalted to heauen, shalt be thrust downe to hell.
10:16Hee that heareth you, heareth me: and he that despiseth you, despiseth me: and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.
10:17And the seuenty returned againe with ioy, saying, Lord, euen the deuils are subiect vnto vs through thy name.
10:18And he said vnto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heauen.
10:19Behold, I giue vnto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and ouer all the power of the enemie: and nothing shall by any meanes hurt you.
10:20Notwithstanding in this reioyce not, that the spirits are subiect vnto you: but rather reioyce, because your names are written in heauen.
10:21In that houre Iesus reioyced in spirit, and said, I thanke thee, O father, Lord of heauen and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast reuealed them vnto babes: euen so father, for so it seemed good in thy sight.
10:22All things are deliuered to me of my father: and no man knoweth who the sonne is, but the father: and who the father is, but the sonne, and he to whom the sonne will reueale him.
10:23And he turned him vnto his disciples, and said priuately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that yee see.
10:24For I tell you, that many Prophets, and kings haue desired to see those things which yee see, and haue not seene them: & to heare those things which yee heare, and haue not heard them.
10:25And behold, a certaine Lawyer stood vp, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I doe to inherite eternall life? He said vnto him,
10:26What is written in the law? how readest thou?
10:27And he answering, said, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy strength, and with all thy minde, and thy neighbour as thy selfe.
10:28And he said vnto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt liue.
10:29But he willing to iustifie himselfe, said vnto Iesus, And who is my neighbour?
10:30And Iesus answering, said, A certaine man went downe from Hierusalem to Iericho, and fel among theeues, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leauing him halfe dead.
10:31And by chaunce there came downe a certaine Priest that way, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32And likewise a Leuite, when hee was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
10:33But a certaine Samaritane as he iourneyed, came where he was; and when hee saw him, hee had compassion on him,
10:34And went to him, and bound vp his wounds, powring in oile and wine, and set him on his owne beast, and brought him to an Inne, and tooke care of him.
10:35And on the morrow when he departed, hee tooke out two pence, and gaue them to the hoste, and saide vnto him, Take care of him, and whatsoeuer thou spendest more, when I come againe I will repay thee.
10:36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour vnto him that fell among the theeues?
10:37And he said, He that shewed mercie on him. Then said Iesus vnto him, Goe, and doe thou likewise.
10:38Now it came to passe, as they went, that he entred into a certaine village: and a certaine woman named Martha, receiued him into her house.
10:39And shee had a sister called Mary, which also sate at Iesus feet, and heard his word:
10:40But Martha was cumbred about much seruing, and came to him, and said, Lord, doest thou not care that my sister hath left mee to serue alone? Bid her therefore that she helpe me.
10:41And Iesus answered, and saide vnto her, Martha, Martha, thou art carefull, and troubled about many things:
10:42But one thing is needefull, and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not bee taken away from her.

10:1Afterwarde the LORDE appoynted out other seuentie, and sent them two and two before him in to euery cite and place, whither he himself wolde come,
10:2and sayde vnto them: The haruest is greate, but the labourers are fewe. Praye therfore the LORDE of the haruest, to sende forth labourers in to his haruest.
10:3Go youre waye: beholde, I sende you forth as the labes amonge ye wolues.
10:4Beare nether wallet, ner scryppe, ner shues, and salute no ma by the waye.
10:5In to what so euer house ye entre, first saye: Peace be in this house.
10:6And yf the childe of peace be there, youre peace shal rest vpon him. Yf no, then shal youre peace turne to you agayne.
10:7But tary ye still in the same house, eatinge aud drynkinge soch as they haue. For the labourer is worthy of his rewarde.Go not from house to house.
10:8And in to what so euer cite ye entre, and they receaue you, eate soch thinges as are set before you.
10:9And heale the sicke that are there, and saye vnto them: The kyngdome of God is come nye vnto you.
10:10But in to what so euer cite ye come, and they receaue you not, go youre waye out in to the stretes of the same, and saye:
10:11Euen the very dust which cleaueth vpon vs of youre cite, wype we of vpon you. But of this ye shal be sure, that the kyngdome of God was come nye vnto you.
10:12I saye vnto you: It shalbe easyer for Sodome in that daye, then for that cite.
10:13Wo vnto the Chorazin, wo vnto the Bethsaida: for yf the miracles which haue bene done amonge you had bene done at Tyre and Sidon, they had done pennaunce longe agoo, syttinge in sack cloth and in asshes.
10:14Neuertheles it shalbe easyer for Tyre and Sidon at the iudgment, then for you.
10:15And thou Capernaum which art exalted vnto the heauen, shalt be thrust downe vnto hell.
10:16He that heareth you, heareth me: and he that despyseth you, despyseth me: but who so despyseth me, despyseth him yt sent me.
10:17The seuetye came agayne with ioye, and sayde: LORDE, the deuels also are subdued vnto vs in thy name.
10:18But he sayde vnto them: I sawe Sathan fall downe from heauen as a lightenynge.
10:19Beholde, I haue geuen you power to treade vpon serpetes and scorpions, and ouer all power of the enemye, and nothinge shall hurte you.
10:20Neuertheles, reioyce not ye in this, that the spretes are subdued vnto you: but reioyse, that youre names are wrytten in heauen.
10:21At the same houre reioysed Iesus in sprete, and sayde: I prayse the (O father and LORDE of heauen and earth) that thou hast hyd these thinges from the wyse and prudent, and hast opened them vnto babes. Euen so father, for so it pleased the.
10:22All thinges are geuen ouer vnto me of my father: and no man knoweth who the sonne is, but onely the father: nether who the father is, saue onely the sonne, and he to who the sonne wil open it.
10:23And he turned him vnto his disciples, and sayde in especiall: Blessed are the eyes, which se that ye se.
10:24For I saye vnto you: Many prophetes and kynges, wolde haue sene the thynges that ye se, and haue not sene them: and to haue herde the thynges that ye heare, and haue not herde them.
10:25And beholde, there stode vp a scrybe and tempted him, and sayde: Master, what must I do, to inheret euerlastinge life?
10:26He sayde vnto him: What is wrytten in the lawe? How readest thou?
10:27He answered and sayde: Thou shalt loue thy LORDE God with all thy hert, with all thy soule, with all thy strength, and with all thy mynde, and thy neghboure as thy self.
10:28He sayde vnto him: Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt lyue.
10:29But he wolde haue iustified himself, & sayde vnto Iesus: Who is then my neghboure?
10:30Then answered Iesus, and sayde: A certayne man wente downe from Ierusalem vnto Iericho, and fell amonge murthurers, which stryped him out of his clothes, and wounded him, and wente their waye, and left him half deed.
10:31And by chauce there came downe a prest the same waye: and whan he sawe him, he passed by.
10:32And likewyse a Leuite, wha he came nye vnto the same place and sawe him, he passed by.
10:33But a Samaritane was goynge his iourney, and came that waye, and whan he sawe him, he had compassion vpon him,
10:34wente vnto him, bounde vp his woundes, and poured oyle and wyne therin, and lifte him vp vpon his beast, and brought him in to the ynne, and made prouysion for him.
10:35Vpon the next daye whan he departed, he toke out two pens, and gaue them to the oost, aud sayde vnto him: Take cure of him, and what so euer thou spendest more, I wil paye it the, whan I come agayne.
10:36Which of these thre now thinkest thou, was neghboure vnto him, that fell amonge the murtherers?
10:37He sayde: He that shewed mercy vpon him Then sayde Iesus vnto him: Go thy waye then, and do thou likewyse.
10:38It fortuned as they wete, that he entred in to a towne, where there was a woman named Martha, which receaued him in to hir house.
10:39And she had a sister, called Mary, which sat hir downe at Iesus fete, and herkened vnto his worde.
10:40But Martha made hirself moch to do, for to serue him. And she stepte vnto him, and sayde: LORDE, carest thou not, that my sister letteth me serue alone? Byd her therfore, that she helpe me.
10:41But Iesus answered, and sayde vnto her: Martha Martha, thou takest thought, and combrest thy self aboute many thinges:
10:42there is but one thinge nedefull. Mary hath chosen a good parte, which shal not be taken awaye from her.

10:1And aftir these thingis the Lord Jhesu ordeynede also othir seuenti and tweyn, and sente hem bi tweyn and tweyn bifor his face in to euery citee and place, whidir he was to come.
10:2And he seide to hem, There is myche ripe corn, and fewe werke men; therfor preie ye the lord of the ripe corn, that he sende werke men in to his ripe corn.
10:3Go ye, lo! Y sende you as lambren among wolues.
10:4Therfor nyle ye bere a sachel, nethir scrippe, nethir schoon, and greete ye no man bi the weie.
10:5In to what hous that ye entren, first seie ye, Pees to this hous.
10:6And if a sone of pees be there, youre pees schal reste on hym; but if noon, it schal turne ayen to you.
10:7And dwelle ye in the same hous, etynge and drynkynge tho thingis that ben at hem; for a werk man is worthi his hire. Nyle ye passe from hous in to hous.
10:8And in to what euer citee ye entren, and thei resseyuen you, ete ye tho thingis that ben set to you;
10:9and heele ye the sijke men that ben in that citee. And seie ye to hem, The kyngdom of God schal neiye in to you.

10:13Wo to thee, Corosayn; wo to thee, Bethsaida; for if in Tyre and Sidon the vertues hadden be don, whiche han be don in you, sum tyme thei wolden haue sete in heyre and asches, and haue don penaunce.
10:14Netheles to Tire and Sidon it schal be esiere in the doom than to you.
10:15And thou, Cafarnaum, art enhaunsid `til to heuene; thou schalt be drenchid `til in to helle.
10:16He that herith you, herith me; and he that dispisith you, dispisith me; and he that dispisith me, dispisith hym that sente me.
10:17And the two and seuenti disciplis turneden ayen with ioye, and seiden, Lord, also deuelis ben suget to vs in thi name.
