13:1	Þær wæren sume on þare tide of galilëën hym keðende. þara blod pilates mengde mid hyre offrunge.
13:2	Þa cwæð he heom andsweriende. wene ge wæren þa galileiscan synfulle to-foran eallen galileiscan. for-þan-þe hyo swylc þoleden.
13:3	Ne segge ic na. ac ealle ge gelice for-wurðeð. buton ge deadbote don;
13:4	swa þa ehte-tyna. ofer þa feoll se stepel on syloa. & hyo of-sloh. Wene ge þæt hyo wæren scyldige ofer ealle menn þe on ierusalem wunedon.
13:5	Ne segge ic ac swa ge for-wurðed. bute ge deadbote don.
13:6	Ða sæde he heom þis bispell. Summan hæfde an fic-treow ge-plantod on his win-gearde. þa com he & sohte his wæstmes on hym. þa ne fand he nane.
13:7	Þa cwæð he to þam hyrde nu synde þreo gear seððan ich com wæstme secende on þissen fic-treowe. & ic ne funde. For-scrif (sic) hine hwy ofer-stricð (sic) he þæt land.
13:8	Ða cwæð he. hlaford læt hine geat þis gear oð Ic hine be-delfe. & ic hine be-weorpe mid dunge.
13:9	& witodlice he wæstmes bringeð. Gif hit elles hwæt beoð. for-scrif hine syððan.
13:10	Ða wæs he reste-dagen on hiore gesamnunge; lærende.
13:11	þa wæs þær sum wif seo hafde untrumnysse gast ehtetyne gear. & hyo wæs abogen ne hyo allunge ne mihte up beseon.
13:12	Ða se hælend hyo ge-seah he cleopede hyo to him. & saide hire. Wif þu ert for-læten of þinre untrumnysse.
13:13	& his hand hire on sette. þa wæs hyo sona up arerd. & hyo god wuldrede.
13:14	Ða ge-bealh se duguðe ealder hine for-þan þe se hælend on reste-daige helde & sæde þam manigeo. Syx dages synde on þam ge-bereð þæt man wyrce. cumeð on þam & beoð ge-hælde. & na on reste daige.
13:15	Þa andswerede se hælend & cwæð. La liceteras ne un-tygð eower ælc on reste-daige his oxen oððe assen fram þare binne & læt to wætere.
13:16	Ðas abrahames dohter þe satanas ge-band nu ehtetyna gear. ne beryde hire beon un-bundon of þisen benden on reste-daige.
13:17	Ða he þis saide þa scamede eallen his wiðer-winnan. & eall folc ge-blissode on eallen þan þe wunderfullice fram him ge-wurðon.
13:18	Soðlice he cwæð. hwam is godes rice gelic; & hwam wene ic þæt hit beo ge-lich.
13:19	hit is gelic sepenes (sic) corne þe se man onfeng & seow on his wertun. & hit weox & warð mycel treow & heofene fugeles resten on his bogen.
13:20	Ænd eft he cwæð. hwam wene ic þæt godes rice seo gelic.
13:21	hit ys gelic þam beorman þe þæt wif onfeng & be-hedde on þam melewe þreo ge-mitte. oððe hit warð eall ahafen.
13:22	Ða ferde he þurh ceastre & castella to ierusalem & þær lærde.
13:23	Ða cwæð sum man to him. drihten feawe synde þe synde ge-hælede. Ða cwæð he to heom.
13:24	efstað þet ge gangen þurh þa nærewe gate for-þan ich segge eow manege secað þæt hyo ingan & hyo ne magen.
13:25	Þanne se hirdes ealdor ingæð & his dure be-clyst. ge standeð þær ute & þa dure cnokieð & cweðað. Ðrihten atyn us. Þanne cweð he to eow. Ne can ich eow naht (sic) ich hwanen ge synde.
13:26	Þanne on-ginnen ge cweðen. we æten & druncen be-foren þe & on uren stræten þu lærdest.
13:27	þanne saið he eow ne can ic hwanen ge synde. ge-witeð fram me ealle unriht-wyrhten.
13:28	þær beoð wop & toðe gristbihung Note: MS. gristhung (sic), with bi written above. . Þanne ge ge-seoð abraham & ysääc. & iacob & ealle witegen on godes rice. & ge beoð ut adrifene.
13:29	& hyo cumeð fram east-dæle & west-dæ & suð-dæle. & sittað on godes rice.
13:30	& efne synde ytemeste þa þe beoð fyrmeste & synde fyrmeste þa þe beoð ytemeste.
13:31	On þam daige him ge-neohlacten sume farisei & him saigdon. Far & ga heonon. for-þam þe herodes þe wile of-slean.
13:32	And þa cwæð he to heom. Gað & seggeð þam foxe. deofel-seocnysse ich ut adrife. & ic hæle ge-fremme to-daig & to-morgen & ðridden daige ich beo for-numen.
13:33	Þeah-hwæðere me ge-bereð to-daig & to-morgen. & þy æftere daige gan. forþan ne bëreð þæt se witega for-wurðe buton ierusalem.
13:34	Eale ierusalem ierusalem. þu þe þa witegen of-sleahst. & hænst þa þe to þe asent synden. hu ofte ic wolde þine bearn ge-gaderian. swa se fugel doð his nyst under his fyðeren & þu noldest.
13:35	Nu beoð eower hus eow for-lætan. Soðlice ic eow segge þt ge me ne ge-seoð ær þan þe cume se þanne ge cweðed ge-bletsod syo se þe com on drihtnes namen.


13:1	There were certaine men present at the same season, that shewed him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
13:2	And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Suppose ye, that these Galileans were greater sinners then al the other Galileans, because they haue suffered such things?
13:3	I tell you, nay: but except ye amend your liues, ye shall all likewise perish.
13:4	Or thinke you that those eighteene, vpon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slewe them, were sinners aboue all men that dwel in Hierusalem?
13:5	I tell you, nay: but except ye amend your liues, ye shall all likewise perish.
13:6	He spake also this parable, A certaine man had a figge tree planted in his vineyard: and he came and sought fruite thereon, and found none.
13:7	Then said he to the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, this three yeeres haue I come and sought fruite of this figge tree, and finde none: cut it downe: why keepeth it also the ground barren?
13:8	And he answered, and said vnto him, Lord, let it alone this yeere also, till I digge round about it, and doung it.
13:9	And if it beare fruite, well: if not, then after thou shalt cut it downe.
13:10	And he taught in one of ye Synagogues on the Sabbath day.
13:11	And behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmitie eighteene yeeres, and was bowed together, and coulde not lift vp her selfe in any wise.
13:12	When Iesus sawe her, he called her to him, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thy disease.
13:13	And he laide his handes on her, and immediately she was made straight againe, and glorified God.
13:14	And the ruler of the Synagogue answered with indignation, because that Iesus healed on the Sabbath day, and said vnto the people, There are sixe dayes in which men ought to worke: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.
13:15	Then answered him the Lord, and said, Hypocrite, doth not eche one of you on the Sabbath day loose his oxe or his asse from the stall, and leade him away to the water?
13:16	And ought not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, loe, eighteene yeeres, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?
13:17	And when he said these things, all his aduersaries were ashamed: but all the people reioyced at all the excellent things, that were done by him.
13:18	Then said he, What is the kingdome of God like? or whereto shall I compare it?
13:19	It is like a graine of mustard seede, which a man tooke and sowed in his garden, and it grewe, and waxed a great tree, and the foules of the heauen made nestes in the branches thereof.
13:20	And againe he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdome of God?
13:21	It is like leauen, which a woman tooke, and hid in three peckes of floure, till all was leauened.
13:22	And he went through all cities and townes, teaching, and iourneying towards Hierusalem.
13:23	Then saide one vnto him, Lord, are there fewe that shalbe saued? And he said vnto them,
13:24	Striue to enter in at the straite gate: for many, I say vnto you, will seeke to enter in, and shall not be able.
13:25	When the good man of the house is risen vp, and hath shut to the doore, and ye begin to stand without, and to knocke at the doore, saying, Lord, Lord, open to vs, and he shall answere and say vnto you, I know you not whence ye are,
13:26	Then shall ye begin to say, We haue eaten and drunke in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streetes.
13:27	But he shall say, I tell you, I knowe you not whence ye are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquitie.
13:28	There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when ye shall see Abraham and Isaac, and Iacob, and all the Prophets in the kingdome of God, and your selues thrust out at doores.
13:29	Then shall come many from the East, and from the West, and from the North, and from the South, and shall sit at Table in the kingdome of God.
13:30	And beholde, there are last, which shalbe first, and there are first, which shalbe last.
13:31	The same day there came certaine Pharises, and said vnto him, Depart, and goe hence: for Herod will kill thee.
13:32	Then said he vnto them, Goe ye and tell that foxe, Beholde, I cast out deuils, and will heale still to day, and to morowe, and the third day I shalbe perfected.
13:33	Neuerthelesse I must walke to day, and to morowe, and the day following: for it cannot be that a Prophet should perish out of Hierusalem.
13:34	O Hierusalem, Hierusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee, howe often would I haue gathered thy children together, as the henne gathereth her brood vnder her wings, and ye would not!
13:35	Beholde, your house is left vnto you desolate: and verely I tell you, ye shall not see me vntill the time come that ye shall say, Blessed is he that commeth in the Name of the Lord.

13:3	I tell you naye: but except ye repent ye shall all in lyke wyse perysshe.
13:4	Or those .xviii. apon which ye toure in Syloe fell and slewe the thinke ye that they were synners above all men yt dwell in Ierusalem?
13:5	I tell you naye: But excepte ye repent ye all shall lykewyse perisshe.
13:6	He put forthe this similiiude A certayne man had a fygge tree planted in his veneyarde and he came and sought frute theron and founde none.
13:7	Then sayde he to ye dresser of his vyneyarde: Beholde this thre yeare have I come and sought frute in this fygge tree and fynde none: cut it doune: why combreth it the grounde?
13:8	And he answered and sayde vnto him: lorde let it alone this yeare also till I digge rounde aboute it and doge it to se
13:9	whether it will beare frute: and if it beare not then after yt cut it doune
13:10	And he taught in one of their sinagoges on ye saboth dayes.
13:11	And beholde ther was a woma which had a sprete of infirmite .xviii. yeares: and was bowed to gether and coulde not lifte vp hersilfe at all.
13:12	When Iesus sawe her he called her to him and sayde to her: woman thou arte delyvered from thy disease.
13:13	And he layde his hondes on her and immediatly she was made strayght and glorified God.
13:14	And the ruler of the sinagoge answered with indignacion (be cause that Iesus had healed on the saboth daye) and sayde vnto the people. Ther are sixe dayes in which men ought to worke: in them come and be healed and not on the saboth daye.
13:15	Then answered him the Lorde and sayd: Ypocrite doth not eache one of you on the saboth daye lowse his oxe or his asse from the stall and leade him to the water?
13:16	And ought not this doughter of Abraham whom Sathan hath bounde loo .xviii. yeares be lowsed from this bonde on the saboth daye?
13:17	And when he thus sayde all his adversaries were ashamed and all the people reioysed on all the excellent dedes that were done by him.
13:18	Then sayde he: What is the kyngdome of God lyke? or wherto shall I compare it?
13:19	It is lyke a grayne of mustard seede which a man toke and sowed in his garden: and it grewe and wexed a greate tree and the foules of the ayer made nestes in the braunches of it.
13:20	And agayne he sayde: wher vnto shall I lyken ye kyngdome of god?
13:21	it is lyke leve which a woman toke and hidde in thre busshels of floure tyll all was thorow levended.
13:22	And he went thorow all maner of cities and tounes teachinge and iorneyinge towardes Ierusalem.
13:23	Then sayde one vnto him: Lorde are ther feawe that shalbe saved? And he sayde vnto them:
13:24	stryve with youre selves to enter in at ye strayte gate: For many I saye vnto you will seke to enter in and shall not be able.
13:25	When the good man of ye housse is rysen vp and hath shett to the dore ye shall beginne to stonde with out and to knocke at the dore sayinge: Lorde lorde open vnto vs: and he shall answer and saye vnto you: I knowe you not whence ye are.
13:26	Then shall ye begin to saye. We have eaten in thy presence and dronke and thou hast taught in oure stretes.
13:27	And he shall saye: I tell you I knowe you not whence ye are: departe from me all ye workers of iniquite.
13:28	There shalbe wepinge and gnasshinge of teth when ye shall se Abraham and Isaac and Iacob and all the prophetes in the kyngdom of God and youre selves thrust oute at dores.
13:29	And they shall come from the eest and from the weest and from the northe and from the southe and shall syt doune in the kyngdome of God.
13:30	And beholde ther are last which shalbe fyrst: And ther are fyrst which shalbe last.
13:31	The same daye there came certayne of the pharises and sayd vnto him: Get the out of the waye and departe hence: for Herode will kyll ye.
13:32	And he sayd vnto them. Goo ye and tell that foxe beholde I cast oute devyls and heale the people to daye and to morowe and the third daye I make an ende.
13:33	Neverthelesse I must walke todaye and tomorowe and the daye folowinge: For it cannot be that a Prophet perishe eny other where save at Ierusalem.
13:34	O Ierusalem Ierusalem which kyllest prophetes and stonest them that are sent to ye: how often wolde I have gadered thy childre to gedder as the hen gathereth her nest vnder her wynges but ye wolde not.
13:35	Beholde youre habitacion shalbe left vnto you desolate. For I tell you ye shall not se me vntill the tyme come that ye shall saye blessed is he that commeth in the name of the Lorde.
