14:1	And it came to passe, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharises to eat bread on ye Sabbath day, that they watched him.
14:2	And behold, there was a certaine man before him, which had the dropsie.
14:3	And Iesus answering, spake vnto the Lawyers and Pharises, saying, Is it lawfull to heale on the Sabbath day?
14:4	And they held their peace. And he tooke him, and healed him, & let him go,
14:5	And answered them, saying, Which of you shall haue an asse or an oxe fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Sabbath day?
14:6	And they could not answere him againe to these things.
14:7	And he put foorth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked howe they chose out the chiefe roumes, saying vnto them,
14:8	When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not downe in the highest roume: lest a more honourable man then thou be bidden of him,
14:9	And hee that bade thee and him, come, and say to thee, Giue this man place: and thou begin with shame to take the lowest roume.
14:10	But when thou art bidden, goe and sit downe in the lowest roume, that when he that bade thee commeth, hee may say vnto thee, Friend, goe vp higher: then shalt thou haue worship in the presence of them that sit at meate with thee.
14:11	For whosoeuer exalteth himselfe, shalbe abased: and hee that humbleth himselfe, shalbe exalted.
14:12	Then said hee also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsemen, nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also bid thee againe, and a recompence be made thee.
14:13	But when thou makest a feast, call the poore, the maimed, the lame, the blinde,
14:14	And thou shalt be blessed, for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the iust.
14:15	And when one of them that sate at meate with him, heard these things, he said vnto him, Blessed is hee that shall eate bread in the kingdom of God.
14:16	Then said hee vnto him, A certaine man made a great supper, and bade many:
14:17	And sent his seruant at supper time, to say to them that were bidden, Come, for all things are now ready.
14:18	And they all with one consent began to make excuse: The first said vnto him, I haue bought a piece of ground, and I must needs goe and see it: I pray thee haue me excused.
14:19	And another said, I haue bought fiue yoke of oxen, and I goe to prooue them: I pray thee haue me excused.
14:20	And another said, I haue maried a wife: and therefore I cannot come.
14:21	So that seruant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry, sayde to his seruant, Goe out quickely into the streetes and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poore, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blinde.
14:22	And the seruant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is roume.
14:23	And the Lord said vnto the seruant, Goe out into the high wayes and hedges, and compell them to come in, that my house may be filled.
14:24	For I say vnto you, that none of those men which were bidden, shall taste of my supper.
14:25	And there went great multitudes with him: and hee turned, and said vnto them,
14:26	If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his owne life also, hee cannot be my disciple.
14:27	And whosoeuer doeth not beare his crosse, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
14:28	For which of you intending to build a towre, sitteth not downe first, and counteth the cost, whether he haue sufficient to finish it?
14:29	Lest haply after hee hath laide the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it, begin to mock him,
14:30	Saying, This man beganne to build, and was not able to finish.
14:31	Or what king going to make war against another king, sitteth not downe first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand, to meete him that commeth against him with twentie thousand?
14:32	Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, hee sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
14:33	So likewise, whosoeuer he be of you, that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
14:34	Salt is good: but if the salt haue lost his sauour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
14:35	It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill: but men cast it out. He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.


14:1	And it fortuned that he came in to the house of one of ye chefe Pharises vpo a Sabbath, to eate bred, & they watched him.
14:2	And beholde, there was a ma before him, which had ye dropsye.
14:3	And Iesus answered, & spake vnto the scrybes and Pharises, & sayde: Is it laufull to heale on the Sabbath?
14:4	But they helde their tonge. And he toke him, and healed him, & let him go,
14:5	and answered, and sayde vnto the: Which of you shal haue an oxe or an asse fallen in to a pytte, and wil not straight waye pull him out on the Sabbath daye?
14:6	And they coude not answere him agayne to that.
14:7	And he tolde a symilitude vnto ye gestes, wha he marked how they chose the hyest seates, & sayde vnto the:
14:8	Whan thou art bydde of eny man to a weddynge, syt not downe in the hyest rowme, lest a more honorable man the thou be bydde of him,
14:9	and he that bade both the and him, come & saye vnto ye: geue this ma rowme, and thou the begynne with shame to take ye lowest rowme.
14:10	But rather wha thou art bydde, go and syt in ye lowest rowme, that wha he that bade the, cometh, he maye saye vnto the: Frende, syt vp hyer: then shalt thou haue worshipe in the presence of them that syt at the table.
14:11	For who so euer exalteth himself, shalbe brought lowe: and he yt humbleth himself, shalbe exalted.
14:12	He sayde also vnto him that had bydden him: Wha thou makest a dyner or a supper, call not thy frendes, ner thy brethren, ner thy kynsfolkes, ner yi riche neghbours, lest they call the agayne, and recompece be made ye.
14:13	But wha thou makest a feast, call the poore, the crepell, the lame, the blynde,
14:14	then art thou blessed, for they can not recompece ye. But it shalbe recompensed the in the resurreccion of the righteous.
14:15	Whan one of them that sat by at the table herde this, he sayde vnto him: Blessed is he, that eateth bred in ye kyngdome of God.
14:16	But he sayde vnto him: A certayne ma made a greate supper, and called many ther to.
14:17	And in ye houre of the supper he sent his seruaute, to saye vnto the yt were bydde: Come, for now are all thinges ready.
14:18	And they begane all together to excuse the selues one after another: The first saide vnto hi: I haue bought a ferme, and I must nedes go forth and se it, I praye ye haue me excused.
14:19	And ye seconde sayde: I haue bought fyue yoke of oxen, and now I go to proue them, I praye the haue me excused.
14:20	And the thirde sayde: I haue maried a wife, therfore can I not come.
14:21	And the seruaunt came, and brought his lorde worde agayne therof.Then was the good man of the house displeased, and sayde vnto his seruaut: Go out quyckly in to the stretes and quarters of ye cite, and brynge in hither the poore and crepell, and lame a
14:22	And the seruaut sayde: lorde, it is done as thou hast comaunded, and there is yet more rowme.
14:23	And the lorde sayde vnto the seruaunt: Go out into the hye wayes, and to the hedges, and compell them to come in, that my house maye be fylled.
14:24	But I saye vnto you: that none of these men which were bydden, shal taist of my supper.
14:25	There wente moch people with him, and he turned him aboute and sayde vnto them:
14:26	Yf eny man come vnto me, and hate not his father, mother, wife, childre, brethre, sisters, yee and his owne life also, he can not be my disciple.
14:27	And whosoeuer beareth not his crosse, and foloweth me, can not be my disciple.
14:28	Which of you is it yt wil buylde a tower, and sytteth not downe first and counteth ye cost, whether he haue sufficiet to perfourme, it?
14:29	lest after he hath layed the foundacio, and is not able to perfourme it, all they that se it, begynne to laugh him to scorne,
14:30	& to saye: This man beganne to buylde, and is not able to perfurme it.
14:31	Or what kynge wil go to make battayl agaynst another kynge, and sytteth not downe first, and casteth in his mynde, whether he be able with ten thousande, to mete him that commeth agaynst him with twentye thousande?
14:32	Or els, whyle the other is yet a greate waye of he sendeth embassage, and desyreth peace.
14:33	So likewyse euery one of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, can not be my disciple.
14:34	Salt is a good thinge: but yf the salt be vnsauery, what shal they season withall.
14:35	It is nether good vpon the lande, ner in the donge hyll, but shal be cast awaye. He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.


14:1	And it was don, whanne he hadde entrid in to the hous of a prince of Farisees, in the sabat, to ete breed, thei aspieden hym.
14:2	And lo! a man sijk in the dropesie was bifor hym.
14:3	And Jhesus answerynge spak to the wise men of lawe, and to the Farisees, and seide, Whethir it is leeueful to heele in the sabat?
14:4	And thei helden pees. And Jhesus took, and heelide hym, and let hym go.
14:5	And he answeride to hem, and seide, Whos asse or oxe of you schal falle in to a pit, and `he schal not anoon drawe hym out in the dai of the sabat?
14:6	And thei myyten not answere to hym to these thingis.
14:7	He seide also a parable to men bodun to a feeste, and biheld hou thei chesen the first sittyng placis, and seide to hem,
14:8	Whanne thou art bodun to bridalis, sitte not `at the mete in the firste place; lest perauenture a worthier than thou be bodun of hym,
14:9	and lest he come that clepide thee and hym, and seie to thee, Yyue place to this, and thanne thou schalt bigynne with schame to holde the lowest place.
14:10	But whanne thou art bedun to a feste, go, and sitte doun in the laste place, that whanne he cometh, that bad thee to the feeste, he seie to thee, Freend, come hiyer. Thanne worschip schal be to thee, bifor men that sitten at the mete.
14:11	For ech that enhaunsith hym, schal be lowid; and he that meketh hym, schal be hiyed.
14:12	And he seide to hym, that hadde bodun hym to the feeste, Whanne thou makist a mete, or a soper, nyle thou clepe thi freendis, nether thi britheren, nethir cosyns, nethir neiyboris, ne riche men; lest perauenture thei bidde thee ayen to the feeste, and it be yolde ayen to thee.
14:13	But whanne thou makist a feeste, clepe pore men,
14:14	feble, crokid, and blynde, and thou schalt be blessid; for thei han not wherof to yelde thee, for it schal be yoldun to thee in the risyng ayen of iust men.
14:15	And whanne oon of hem that saten togider at the mete hadde herd these thingis, he seide to hym, Blessid is he, that schal ete breed in the rewme of God.
14:16	And he seide to hym, A man made a greet soper, and clepide many.
14:17	And he sent his seruaunt in the our of soper, to seie to men that weren bodun to the feeste, that thei schulden come, for now alle thingis ben redi.
14:18	And alle bigunnen togidir to excusen hem. The firste seide, Y haue bouyt a toun, and Y haue nede to go out, and se it; Y preye thee, haue me excusid.
14:19	And the tother seide, Y haue bouyt fyue yockis of oxun, and Y go to preue hem; Y preye thee, haue me excusid.
14:20	And an othir seide, Y haue weddid a wijf; and therfor Y may not come.
14:21	And the seruaunt turnede ayen, and tolde these thingis to his lord. Thanne the hosebonde man was wrooth, and seide to his seruaunt, Go out swithe in to the grete stretis and smal stretis of the citee, and brynge ynne hidir pore men, and feble, blynde, and crokid.
14:22	And the seruaunt seide, Lord, it is don, as thou hast comaundid, and yit there is a void place.
14:23	And the lord seide to the seruaunt, Go out in to weies and heggis, and constreine men to entre, that myn hous be fulfillid.
14:24	For Y seie to you, that noon of tho men that ben clepid, schal taaste my soper.
14:25	And myche puple wenten with hym; and he turnede, and seide to hem,
14:26	If ony man cometh to me, and hatith not his fadir, and modir, and wijf, and sones, and britheren, and sistris, and yit his owne lijf, he may not be my disciple.
14:27	And he that berith not his cross, and cometh aftir me, may not be my disciple.
14:28	For who of you willynge to bilde a toure, whether he `first sitte not, and countith the spensis that ben nedeful, if he haue to perfourme?
14:29	Lest aftir that he hath set the foundement, and mowe not perfourme, alle that seen, bigynnen to scorne hym, and seie, For this man bigan to bilde,
14:30	and myyte not make an ende.
14:31	Or what kyng that wole go to do a bataile ayens anothir kyng, whether he sittith not first, and bithenkith, if he may with ten thousynde go ayens hym that cometh ayens hym with twenti thousynde?
14:32	Ellis yit while he is afer, he sendynge a messanger, preieth tho thingis that ben of pees.
14:33	So therfor ech of you, that forsakith not alle thingis that he hath, may not be my disciple.
14:34	Salt is good; but if salt vanysche, in what thing schal it be sauerid?
14:35	Nethir in erthe, nethir in donghille it is profitable, but it schal be cast out. He that hath eeris of herynge, here he.
