Luke - Chapter: 18

>
18:1And he spake a parable vnto them, to this ende, that men ought alwayes to pray, and not to faint,
18:2Saying, There was in a city a Iudge, which feared not God neither regarded man.
18:3And there was a widowe in that citie, and she came vnto him, saying, Auenge me of mine aduersarie:
18:4And hee would not for a while. But afterward he said within himselfe, Though I feare not God, nor regard man,
18:5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will auenge her, lest by her continuall comming, she wearie me.
18:6And the Lord said, Heare what the vniust iudge saith.
18:7And shall not God auenge his owne elect, which crie day and night vnto him, thogh he beare long with them?
18:8I tell you that he wil auenge them speedily. Neuerthelesse, when the Son of man commeth, shall hee find faith on the earth?
18:9And he spake this parable vnto certaine which trusted in themselues that they were righteous, & despised other:
18:10Two men went vp into the Temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a Publicane.
18:11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himselfe, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, vniust, adulterers, or euen as this Publicane.
18:12I fast twise in the weeke, I giue tithes of all that I possesse.
18:13And the Publicane standing afarre off, would not lift vp so much as his eyes vnto heauen: but smote vpon his breast, saying, God me mercifull to mee a sinner.
18:14I tell you, this man went downe to his house iustified rather then the other: For euery one that exalteth himselfe, shall be abased: and hee that humbleth himselfe, shall be exalted.
18:15And they brought vnto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
18:16But Iesus called them vnto him, and said, Suffer litle children to come vnto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
18:17Uerely I say vnto you, whosoeuer shall not receiue the kingdome of God as a litle child, shal in no wise enter therein.
18:18And a certaine ruler asked him, saying, Good master, what shall I doe to inherit eternall life?
18:19And Iesus said vnto him, Why callest thou mee good? None is good saue one, that is God.
18:20Thou knowest the commaundements, Doe not commit adulterie, Doe not kill, Doe not steale, Doe not beare false witnesse, Honour thy father and thy mother.
18:21And he said, All these haue I kept from my youth vp.
18:22Now when Iesus heard these things, hee said vnto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: Sell all that thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, follow me.
18:23And when he heard this, he was very sorowfull, for he was very rich.
18:24And when Iesus saw that hee was very sorrowfull, he said, How hardly shal they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God?
18:25For it is easier for a camel to goe thorow a needles eye, then for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
18:26And they that heard it, said, Who then can be saued?
18:27And he said, The things which are vnpossible with men, are possible with God.
18:28Then Peter said, Loe, we haue left all, and followed thee.
18:29And he said vnto them, Uerily, I say vnto you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdome of Gods sake,
18:30Who shall not receiue manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life euerlasting.
18:31Then hee tooke vnto him the twelue, and said vnto them, Behold, we goe vp to Hierusalem, and al things that are written by the Prophets concerning the sonne of man, shall be accomplished.
18:32For he shall be deliuered vnto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully intreated, and spitted on:
18:33And they shall scourge him, and put him to death, and the third day he shall rise againe.
18:34And they vnderstood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
18:35And it came to passe, that as he was come nigh vnto Iericho, a certaine blinde man sate by the way side, begging,
18:36And hearing the multitude passe by, he asked what it meant.
18:37And they tolde him that Iesus of Nazareth passeth by.
18:38And he cried, saying, Iesus thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
18:39And they which went before, rebuked him, that hee should holde his peace: but hee cried so much the more, Thou Sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on mee.
18:40And Iesus stood and commanded him to be brought vnto him: and when he was come neere, he asked him,
18:41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall doe vnto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receiue my sight.
18:42And Iesus said vnto him, Receiue thy sight, thy faith hath saued thee.
18:43And immediately he receiued his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people when they saw it, gaue praise vnto God.

18:1And he put foorth a parable vnto them, to this ende that me ought alwayes to pray, & not to be weery,
18:2Saying: There was in a certayne citie, a iudge, whiche feared not God, neither regarded man.
18:3And there was a certayne widdowe in the same citie, and she came vnto him, saying: Auenge me of mine aduersarie.
18:4And he woulde not for a whyle. But afterwarde he sayde within hym selfe: Though I feare not God, nor care for man,
18:5Yet because this widdowe [much] troubleth me, I wyll auenge her: leste she come at the last, & make me weery.
18:6And the Lorde sayde: heare what the vuryghteous iudge sayeth.
18:7And shall not God auenge his elect, which crye day and nyght vnto hym? yea, though he deferre them,
18:8I tell you he wyll auenge them, and that quickly. Neuerthelesse, when the sonne of man commeth, shall he fynde fayth on the earth?
18:9And he tolde this parable vnto certayne which trusted in them selues, that they were perfect, and despised other.
18:10Two men went vp into the temple to pray: the one a pharisee, and the other a publicane.
18:11The pharisee stoode and prayed thus with hym selfe: God, I thanke thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, vniust, adulterers, or as this publicane.
18:12I fast twise in the weeke, I geue tithe of all that I possesse.
18:13And the publicane standyng a farre of, woulde not lyft vp his eyes to heauen, but smote vpon his brest, saying: God be mercifull to me a sinner.
18:14I tell you, this man departed [home] to his house iustified, rather then the other. For euery one that exalteth hym selfe, shalbe brought lowe: And he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.
18:15They brought vnto him also infantes that he should touch them: Which, whe his disciples sawe it, they rebuked the.
18:16But Iesus, when he had called them vnto hym, saide, Suffer chyldre to come vnto me, and forbyd them not: For of such is the kyngdome of God.
18:17Ueryly I say vnto you: Whosoeuer receaueth not the kyngdome of God, as a chylde, shall not enter therin.
18:18And a certayne ruler asked hym, saying: Good maister, what ought I to do, to possesse eternall lyfe?
18:19Iesus sayde vnto hym: Why callest thou me good? None is good, saue God onely.
18:20Thou knowest the commaundementes: Thou shalt not commit adultrie, thou shalt not kyll, thou shalt not steale, thou shalt not beare false witnesse, honour thy father and thy mother.
18:21And he sayde: all these haue I kept from my youth vp.
18:22When Iesus hearde that, he sayde vnto hym: Yet lackest thou one thyng. Sell all that thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, & thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, folowe me.
18:23When he hearde this, he was very sory, for he was very riche.
18:24When Iesus sawe that he was sory, he sayde: With what difficultie shall they that haue money, enter into the kyngdome of God?
18:25For it is easier for a camel to go through a nedles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kyngdome of God.
18:26And they that hearde it, sayde: And who can then be saued?
18:27And he sayde: The thynges which are vnpossible wih men, are possible with God.
18:28Then Peter sayde: Lo, we haue forsaken all, and folowed thee.
18:29He sayde vnto them. Ueryly I say vnto you: there is no man that hath forsaken house, either father, or mother, either brethren, or wyfe, or chyldren, for the kyngdome of Gods sake.
18:30Which shall not receaue much more in this worlde, and in the worlde to come, lyfe euerlastyng.
18:31Iesus toke vnto hym the twelue, and sayde vnto them: Beholde, we go vp to Hierusalem, and all thynges shalbe fulfylled to the sonne of man, that are written by the prophetes.
18:32For he shalbe deliuered vnto the gentiles, and shalbe mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
18:33And when they haue scourged hym, they wyll put hym to death. And the thyrde day he shall aryse agayne.
18:34And they vnderstoode none of all these thynges. And this saying was hyd from them, so that they perceaued not the thynges which were spoken.
18:35And it came to passe, that as he was come nie vnto Hierico, a certayne blynde man sate by the wayes syde, beggyng.
18:36And when he hearde the people passe by, he asked what it meant.
18:37And they sayde vnto hym, that Iesus of Nazareth passed by.
18:38And he cryed, saying: Iesu thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
18:39And they which went before, rebuked hym, that he shoulde holde his peace: But he cryed so much the more, thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
18:40And Iesus stoode styll, & commaunded hym to be brought vnto hym. And whe he was come neare, he asked him,
18:41Saying: What wylt thou that I do vnto thee? And he saide: Lorde, that I may receaue my syght.
18:42And Iesus sayde vnto hym: receaue thy syght, thy fayth hath saued thee?
18:43And immediatly he receaued his sight, and folowed hym, praysyng God: And all the people, when they sawe [it,] gaue prayse vnto God.

18:1And he spake also a parable vnto them, to this ende, that they ought alwayes to pray, and not to waxe faint,
18:2Saying, There was a iudge in a certaine citie, which feared not God, neither reuereced man.
18:3And there was a widowe in that citie, which came vnto him, saying, Doe mee iustice against mine aduersarie.
18:4And hee would not of a long time: but afterward he said with himselfe, Though I feare not God, nor reuerence man,
18:5Yet because this widowe troubleth mee, I will doe her right, lest at the last shee come and make me wearie.
18:6And the Lord said, Heare what the vnrighteous iudge saith.
18:7Now shall not God auenge his elect, which cry day and night vnto him, yea, though he suffer long for them?
18:8I tell you he will auenge them quickly: but when the Sonne of man commeth, shall he finde faith on the earth?
18:9He spake also this parable vnto certaine which trusted in themselues that they were iust, and despised other.
18:10Two men went vp into the Temple to pray: the one a Pharise, and the other a Publican.
18:11The Pharise stoode and prayed thus with himselfe, O God, I thanke thee that I am not as other men, extortioners, vniust, adulterers, or euen as this Publican.
18:12I fast twise in the weeke: I giue tithe of all that euer I possesse.

18:15They brought vnto him also babes that he should touche them. And when his disciples sawe it, they rebuked them.
18:16But Iesus called them vnto him, and said, Suffer the babes to come vnto mee, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
18:17Verely I say vnto you, whosoeuer receiueth not the kingdome of God as a babe, he shall not enter therein.
18:18Then a certaine ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what ought I to doe, to inherite eternall life?
18:19And Iesus said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, saue one, euen God.

18:23But when he heard those things, he was very heauie: for he was marueilous riche.
18:24And when Iesus sawe him very sorowfull, he said, With what difficultie shall they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!
18:25Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.
18:26Then said they that heard it, And who then can be saued?
18:27And he said, The things which are vnpossible with men, are possible with God.
