Luke - Chapter: 18

>
18:1And he put forth a similitude vnto them signifyeng that men ought alwaies to pray, & not to be werye,
18:2saiynge. There was a Iudge in a certayne cytye, whiche feared not God, neyther regarded man.
18:3And there was a certaine wedowe in the same citie whiche came vnto hym saiynge: auenge of myne aduersarye.
18:4And he woulde not for a whyle. But afterwarde he sayde to hym selfe, though I feare not God, nor care for man,
18:5yet because thys wedowe troubleth me. I wil auenge her least at the least she come and hagge on me.
18:6And the Lord sayed: heare what the vnrightuous iudge sayeth.
18:7And shall not God aduenge his electe, which crye daye and nyghte vnto hym, ye though he defarre them?
18:8I tell you, he wil auenge them, and that quickly. Neuerthelesse when the sonne of man commeth, suppose ye, that he shall fynde fayth on earth?
18:9And he put forth thys similytude vnto certayne, which thrusted in them selues that they were perfecte, and despyseth other.
18:10Two men went vp into the temple to praye, the one a pharise and the other a publican.
18:11The Pharyse stode and prayed thus with hym selfe: God I thanke the, that I am not as other men are, extorsioners, vniust, aduouterers, or as this publican,
18:12I faste twyse in the weke, I geue tythe of all that I possesse.
18:13And the Publicane stode a farre of, and woulde not lyft vp his eyes to heauen, but smote his brest, saiynge: God be mercifull to me a synner.
18:14I tell you: this man departed home to hys house iustifyed more then the other. For euerye man that exalteth hym selfe, shalbe brought lowe. And he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.
18:15They broughte vnto hym also babes: that he shoulde touche them. When hys disciples saw that they rebuked them.
18:16But Iesus called them vnto hym, and sayed: Suffer children to come vnto me, and forbyd them not. For of suche is the kyngdome of God.
18:17Verely I say vnto you: whosoeuer receyueth not the kyngdome of God, as a chylde, he shall not enter therin.
18:18And a certayne ruler axed him, saiyng: Good Maister, what ought I to do, to obtayne eternall lyfe?
18:19Iesus sayde vnto hym: Why callest thou me good? No man is good, saue God onlye.
18:20Thou knowest the commaundementes: Thou shalte not committe aduoutrye. Thou shalte not kyll. Thou shalt not steale. Thou shalte not beare false wytnesse: Honoure thy father and mother.
18:21And he sayed: al these haue I kepte from my youth.
18:22When Iesus hearde that, he sayed vnto hym. Yet lackeste thou one thynge. Sell all that thou haste, and distrybute it vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, & folowe me.
18:23When he hearde, that he was heauy: for he was very ryche.
18:24When Iesus sawe hym morne, he sayed: with what difficultye shall they that haue ryches, enter into the kyngedome of God:
18:25it is easyer for a camel to go thorowe a nedels eye then for a ryche man to enter into the kyngdom of God.
18:26Then sayed they that hearde that: And who shall then be saued?
18:27And he sayed: Thynges which are vnpossyble with men are possyble with God.
18:28Then sayed Peter: Loo we haue lefte al, & folowed the.
18:29And he sayed vnto them: Verelye I saye vnto you, there is no man that leaueth house, other father or mother, other brethren or wyfe or children, for the kyngdom of Goddes sake,
18:30which same shall not receyue much more in thys worlde: and in the world to come, lyfe euerlastynge.
18:31He toke vnto hym twelue, and sayed vnto them. Beholde we go vp to Hierusalem, & all shal be fulfylled that are wryten by the Prophetes of the sonne of man.
18:32He shalbe deliuered vnto the gentils, and shalbe mocked, and shalbe dispytefully entreated, and shalbe spitted on,
18:33and when they haue scourged him, they wyll put hym to death, and the thyrde daye he shall ryse agayn.
18:34But they vnderstode none of these thynges. And this saiyng was hyd from them. And they perceyued not the thynges whiche were spoken.
18:35And it came to passe, as he was come nye vnto Hierico, a certayne blynde man sat by the waye syde begginge.
18:36And when he harde the people passe by, he axed what it meante:
18:37And they sayed to him, that Iesus of Nazareth passed by.
18:38And he cryed, saiynge: Iesus the sonne of Dauid, haue thou mercye on me.
18:39And they whiche wente before, rebuked hym, that he shoulde holde his peace. But he cryed so much the more, thou sonne of Dauid haue mercy on me.
18:40And Iesus stode still, and commaunded hym to be brought vnto hym. And when he was come neare, Iesus axed hym,
18:41saiyng: What wilt thou that I do vnto the? And he sayde: Lorde that I maye receyue my syght.
18:42Iesus sayde vnto hym: receyue thy syght: thy fayth hath saued the.
18:43And immediatly he sawe, & folowed hym, praysyng God. And all the people when they sawe it, gaue laude to God.

18:1And he put forth a parable vnto them, signifying that men ought all wayes to praye and not to be wery,
18:2sayinge: Ther was in a certayne cytie a iudge, which feared not God, nether regarded man.
18:3And ther was a certayne wedowe in the same cytye, and she came vnto hym, sayinge: auenge me of myne aduersary.
18:4And he wolde not for a whyle. But after warde he sayd within him selfe: though I feare not God, nor care for man,
18:5yet because thys wedowe is importune vpon me, I wyll auenge her, lest she come at the last and rayle on me.
18:6And the Lorde sayde, heare what the vnryghtewes Iudge sayeth.
18:7And shal not God auenge his electe, which crye daye and nyght vnto him, yee, though he deferre them?
18:8I tell you that he will auenge them, & that quickly. Neuerthelesse, when the sonne of man commeth, shall he fynde fayth on the erth?
18:9And he tolde this parable, vnto certayne which trusted in them selues that they were perfecte, and despysed other
18:10Two men went vp into the temple to praye: the one a Pharise, and the other a publican.
18:11The Pharyse stode and prayed thus with hym selfe: God, I thancke the, that I am not as other men are, extorsioners, vniuste, aduoutrers, or as this publycan.
18:12I fast twyse in the weke. I geuetythe of all that I possesse.
18:13And the publican stondyng a farre of, wolde not lyfte vp his eyes to heauen, but smote vpon hys brest, saying: God be mercyfull to me a synner:
18:14I tell you: thys man departed home to hys house iustyfyed, more then the other. For euery one that exalteth him self, shalbe brought lowe: And he that humbleth him selfe, shalbe exalted.
18:15They brought vnto him also yong children, that he shulde touche them. When hys dysciples sawe it, they rebuked them.
18:16But Iesus (whan he had called them vnto hym) sayde: Suffre children to come vnto me, and forbyd them not. For of soch is the kyngdome of God.
18:17Uerely I saye vnto you: whosoeuer receaueth not the kyngdome of God as a chylde, shall not enter therin.
18:18And a certayne ruler asked him, sayinge: good master, what ought I to do, to obtaine eternall lyfe?
18:19Iesus sayd vnto him: Why callest thou me good? None is good, saue God onely.
18:20Thou knowest the commaundementes: Thou shalt not commit aduoutry: thou shalt not kyll: thou shalt not steale, thou shalt not beare false wytnes: honoure thy father & thy mother.
18:21And he sayde: all these haue I kept from my youth vp.
18:22When Iesus hearde that, he sayd vnto hym: Yet lackest thou one thynge. Sell all that thou hast, and distrybute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, folowe me.
18:23When he hearde thys, he was sory: for he was very ryche.
18:24When Iesus sawe that he was sory, he sayde wyth what difficulte shall they that haue mony, enter into the kingdome of God?
18:25it is easyer for a camell to go thorow a nedles eye, then for a ryche man to enter into the kyngdome of God.
18:26And they that hearde it: sayd. And who can then be saued?
18:27And he sayde: The thynges which are vnpossyble wt men, are possyble wyth God.
18:28Then Peter sayde. Lo, we haue forsaken all, and folowed the.
18:29He sayde vnto them: Uerely I saye vnto you: ther is no man that hath forsaken house, ether father or mother, ether brethren, or wyfe, or chyldren (for the kyngdome of Goddes sake)
18:30whych shall not receaue moch more in this worlde, and in the worlde to come, lyfe euerlastynge.
18:31Iesus toke vnto him the twelue, & sayd vnto them: Beholde, we go vp to Ierusalem, and all shalbe fulfylled, that are wrytten by the Prophetes, of the sonne of man.
18:32For he shalbe delyuered vnto the gentyls, & shalbe mocked, and despytfully entreated, & spytted on:
18:33& when they haue scourged him, they wyll put hym to deeth, and the thyrd daye he shall aryse agayne.
18:34And they vnderstode none of these thynges. And this saying was hyd from them, so that they perceaued not the thynges which were spoken.
18:35And it came to passe, that as he was come nye vnto Hierico, a certayne blynde man sate by the waye syde, beggynge.
18:36And when he hearde the people passe by, he asked what it meant.
18:37And they sayde vnto hym, that Iesus of Nazareth passed by.
18:38And he cryed, sayinge: Iesu thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
18:39And they whych went before, rebuked hym, that he shulde holde his peace. But he cryed so moch the more: thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on me.
18:40And Iesus stode styll, and commaunded hym to be brought vnto hym. And when he was come neare, he asked hym,
18:41sayinge: what wilt thou that I do vnto the? And he sayde: Lorde, that I maye receaue my syght.
18:42And Iesus sayd vnto hym: receaue thy syght: thy fayth, hath saued the.
18:43And immediatly he receaued his syght, and folowed hym, praysynge God. And all the people, when they sawe it, gaue prayse vnto God.

18:1And he spake also a parable vnto them, to this ende, that they ought alwayes to pray, and not to waxe faint,
18:2Saying, There was a iudge in a certaine citie, which feared not God, neither reuereced man.
18:3And there was a widowe in that citie, which came vnto him, saying, Doe mee iustice against mine aduersarie.
18:4And hee would not of a long time: but afterward he said with himselfe, Though I feare not God, nor reuerence man,
18:5Yet because this widowe troubleth mee, I will doe her right, lest at the last shee come and make me wearie.
18:6And the Lord said, Heare what the vnrighteous iudge saith.
18:7Now shall not God auenge his elect, which cry day and night vnto him, yea, though he suffer long for them?
18:8I tell you he will auenge them quickly: but when the Sonne of man commeth, shall he finde faith on the earth?
18:9He spake also this parable vnto certaine which trusted in themselues that they were iust, and despised other.
18:10Two men went vp into the Temple to pray: the one a Pharise, and the other a Publican.
18:11The Pharise stoode and prayed thus with himselfe, O God, I thanke thee that I am not as other men, extortioners, vniust, adulterers, or euen as this Publican.
18:12I fast twise in the weeke: I giue tithe of all that euer I possesse.
18:13But the Publican standing a farre off, woulde not lift vp so much as his eyes to heauen, but smote his brest, saying, O God, be mercifull to me a sinner.
18:14I tell you, this man departed to his house iustified, rather then the other: for euery man that exalteth himselfe, shall be brought lowe, and he that humbleth himselfe, shalbe exalted.
18:15They brought vnto him also babes that he should touche them. And when his disciples sawe it, they rebuked them.
18:16But Iesus called them vnto him, and said, Suffer the babes to come vnto mee, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
18:17Verely I say vnto you, whosoeuer receiueth not the kingdome of God as a babe, he shall not enter therein.
18:18Then a certaine ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what ought I to doe, to inherite eternall life?
18:19And Iesus said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, saue one, euen God.
18:20Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnes: Honour thy father and thy mother.
18:21And hee saide, All these haue I kept from my youth.
18:22Nowe when Iesus heard that, he saide vnto him, Yet lackest thou one thing. Sell all that euer thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come follow mee.
18:23But when he heard those things, he was very heauie: for he was marueilous riche.
18:24And when Iesus sawe him very sorowfull, he said, With what difficultie shall they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!
18:25Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.
18:26Then said they that heard it, And who then can be saued?
18:27And he said, The things which are vnpossible with men, are possible with God.
18:28Then Peter said, Loe, we haue left all, and haue followed thee.
18:29And he said vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children for the kingdome of Gods sake,
18:30Which shall not receiue much more in this world, and in the world to come life euerlasting.
18:31Then Iesus tooke vnto him ye twelue, and said vnto them, Beholde, we goe vp to Hierusalem, and all things shalbe fulfilled to the Sonne of man, that are writttn by the Prophets.
18:32For he shall be deliuered vnto the Gentiles, and shalbe mocked, and shalbe spitefully entreated, and shalbe spitted on.
18:33And when they haue scourged him, they will put him to death: but the thirde day hee shall rise againe.
18:34But they vnderstood none of these things, and this saying was hidde from them, neither perceiued they the things, which were spoken.
18:35And it came to passe, that as he was come neere vnto Iericho, a certaine blinde man sate by the way side, begging.
18:36And when he heard the people passe by, he asked what it meant.
18:37And they saide vnto him, that Iesus of Nazareth passed by.
18:38Then hee cried, saying, Iesus the Sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
18:39And they which went before, rebuked him that he shoulde holde his peace, but he cried much more, O Sone of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
18:40And Iesus stoode stil, and commanded him to be brought vnto him. And when he was come neere, he asked him,
18:41Saying, What wilt thou that I doe vnto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receiue my sight.
18:42And Iesus said vnto him, Receiue thy sight: thy faith hath saued thee.
18:43Then immediatly he receiued his sight, and followed him, praysing God: and all the people, when they sawe this, gaue praise to God.
