Luke - Chapter: 21


21:1	And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
21:2	And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
21:3	And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
21:4	For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
21:5	And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
21:6	As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
21:7	And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
21:8	And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
21:9	But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
21:10	Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
21:11	And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
21:12	But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
21:13	And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
21:14	Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
21:15	For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
21:16	And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
21:17	And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
21:18	But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
21:19	In your patience possess ye your souls.
21:20	And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21:21	Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
21:22	For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
21:23	But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
21:24	And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
21:25	And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
21:26	Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
21:27	And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
21:28	And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
21:29	And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
21:30	When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
21:31	So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
21:32	Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
21:33	Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
21:34	And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
21:35	For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
21:36	Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
21:37	And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
21:38	And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.


21:1	αναβλεψας δε ειδεν τους βαλλοντας τα δωρα αυτων εις το γαζοφυλακιον πλουσιους
21:2	ειδεν δε και τινα χηραν πενιχραν βαλλουσαν εκει δυο λεπτα
21:3	και ειπεν αληθως λεγω υμιν οτι η χηρα η πτωχη αυτη πλειον παντων εβαλεν
21:4	απαντες γαρ ουτοι εκ του περισσευοντος αυτοις εβαλον εις τα δωρα του θεου αυτη δε εκ του υστερηματος αυτης απαντα τον βιον ον ειχεν εβαλεν
21:5	και τινων λεγοντων περι του ιερου οτι λιθοις καλοις και αναθημασιν κεκοσμηται ειπεν
21:6	ταυτα α θεωρειτε ελευσονται ημεραι εν αις ουκ αφεθησεται λιθος επι λιθω ος ου καταλυθησεται
21:7	επηρωτησαν δε αυτον λεγοντες διδασκαλε ποτε ουν ταυτα εσται και τι το σημειον οταν μελλη ταυτα γινεσθαι
21:8	ο δε ειπεν βλεπετε μη πλανηθητε πολλοι γαρ ελευσονται επι τω ονοματι μου λεγοντες οτι εγω ειμι και ο καιρος ηγγικεν μη ουν πορευθητε οπισω αυτων
21:9	οταν δε ακουσητε πολεμους και ακαταστασιας μη πτοηθητε δει γαρ ταυτα γενεσθαι πρωτον αλλ ουκ ευθεως το τελος
21:10	τοτε ελεγεν αυτοις εγερθησεται εθνος επι εθνος και βασιλεια επι βασιλειαν
21:11	σεισμοι τε μεγαλοι κατα τοπους και λιμοι και λοιμοι εσονται φοβητρα τε και σημεια απ ουρανου μεγαλα εσται
21:12	προ δε τουτων απαντων επιβαλουσιν εφ υμας τας χειρας αυτων και διωξουσιν παραδιδοντες εις συναγωγας και φυλακας αγομενους επι βασιλεις και ηγεμονας ενεκεν του ονοματος μου
21:13	αποβησεται δε υμιν εις μαρτυριον
21:14	θεσθε ουν εις τας καρδιας υμων μη προμελεταν απολογηθηναι
21:15	εγω γαρ δωσω υμιν στομα και σοφιαν η ου δυνησονται αντειπειν ουδε αντιστηναι παντες οι αντικειμενοι υμιν
21:16	παραδοθησεσθε δε και υπο γονεων και αδελφων και συγγενων και φιλων και θανατωσουσιν εξ υμων
21:17	και εσεσθε μισουμενοι υπο παντων δια το ονομα μου
21:18	και θριξ εκ της κεφαλης υμων ου μη αποληται
21:19	εν τη υπομονη υμων κτησασθε τας ψυχας υμων
21:20	οταν δε ιδητε κυκλουμενην υπο στρατοπεδων την ιερουσαλημ τοτε γνωτε οτι ηγγικεν η ερημωσις αυτης
21:21	τοτε οι εν τη ιουδαια φευγετωσαν εις τα ορη και οι εν μεσω αυτης εκχωρειτωσαν και οι εν ταις χωραις μη εισερχεσθωσαν εις αυτην
21:22	οτι ημεραι εκδικησεως αυται εισιν του πληρωθηναι παντα τα γεγραμμενα
21:23	ουαι δε ταις εν γαστρι εχουσαις και ταις θηλαζουσαις εν εκειναις ταις ημεραις εσται γαρ αναγκη μεγαλη επι της γης και οργη εν τω λαω τουτω
21:24	και πεσουνται στοματι μαχαιρας και αιχμαλωτισθησονται εις παντα τα εθνη και ιερουσαλημ εσται πατουμενη υπο εθνων αχρι πληρωθωσιν καιροι εθνων
21:25	και εσται σημεια εν ηλιω και σεληνη και αστροις και επι της γης συνοχη εθνων εν απορια ηχουσης θαλασσης και σαλου
21:26	αποψυχοντων ανθρωπων απο φοβου και προσδοκιας των επερχομενων τη οικουμενη αι γαρ δυναμεις των ουρανων σαλευθησονται
21:27	και τοτε οψονται τον υιον του ανθρωπου ερχομενον εν νεφελη μετα δυναμεως και δοξης πολλης
21:28	αρχομενων δε τουτων γινεσθαι ανακυψατε και επαρατε τας κεφαλας υμων διοτι εγγιζει η απολυτρωσις υμων
21:29	και ειπεν παραβολην αυτοις ιδετε την συκην και παντα τα δενδρα
21:30	οταν προβαλωσιν ηδη βλεποντες αφ εαυτων γινωσκετε οτι ηδη εγγυς το θερος εστιν
21:31	ουτως και υμεις οταν ιδητε ταυτα γινομενα γινωσκετε οτι εγγυς εστιν η βασιλεια του θεου
21:32	αμην λεγω υμιν οτι ου μη παρελθη η γενεα αυτη εως αν παντα γενηται
21:33	ο ουρανος και η γη παρελευσονται οι δε λογοι μου ου μη παρελθωσιν
21:34	προσεχετε δε εαυτοις μηποτε βαρυνθωσιν υμων αι καρδιαι εν κραιπαλη και μεθη και μεριμναις βιωτικαις και αιφνιδιος εφ υμας επιστη η ημερα εκεινη
21:35	ως παγις γαρ επελευσεται επι παντας τους καθημενους επι προσωπον πασης της γης
21:36	αγρυπνειτε ουν εν παντι καιρω δεομενοι ινα καταξιωθητε εκφυγειν ταυτα παντα τα μελλοντα γινεσθαι και σταθηναι εμπροσθεν του υιου του ανθρωπου
21:37	ην δε τας ημερας εν τω ιερω διδασκων τας δε νυκτας εξερχομενος ηυλιζετο εις το ορος το καλουμενον ελαιων
21:38	και πας ο λαος ωρθριζεν προς αυτον εν τω ιερω ακουειν αυτου


21:1	As he behelde he sawe the ryche men how they cast in their offeringes into the treasury.
21:2	And he sawe also a certayne povre widdowe which cast in thyther two mites.
21:3	And he sayde: of a trueth I saye vnto you this poore wyddowe hath put in moare then they all.
21:4	For they all have of their superfluyte added vnto the offerynge of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the substaunce that she had.
21:5	As some spake of the teple how it was garnesshed with goodly stones and iewels he sayde.
21:6	The dayes will come whe of these thynges which ye se shall not be lefte stone apon stone that shall not be throwen doune.
21:7	And they axed him sayinge: Master whe shall these thinges be and what signe will therbe whe suche thinges shall come to passe.
21:8	And he sayd: take hede that ye be not deceaved. For many will come in my name saying: I am he: and the tyme draweth neare. Folowe ye not them therfore.
21:9	But when ye heare of warre and of dissencion: be not afrayd. For these thinges must fyrst come: but the ende foloweth not by and by.
21:10	Then sayd he vnto the: Nacion shall ryse agaynst nacion and kingdom agaynst kyngdome
21:11	and greate erthquakes shall be in all quarters and honger and pestilence: and fearfull thinges. And greate signes shall therbe from heven.
21:12	But before all these they shall laye their hondes on you and persecute you delyueringe you vp to the sinagoges and into preson and bringe you before kynges and rulers for my names sake.
21:13	And this shall chaunce you for a testimoniall.
21:14	Let it sticke therfore faste in youre hertes not once to stody before what ye shall answere:
21:15	for I will geve you a mouth and wisdome where agaynste all youre adversarys shall not be able to speake nor resist.
21:16	Ye and ye shalbe betrayed of youre fathers and mothers and of youre brethren and kynsmen and lovers aud some of you shall they put to deeth.
21:17	And hated shall ye be of all men for my names sake.
21:18	Yet ther shall not one heer of youre heedes perisshe.
21:19	With youre pacience possesse youre soules.
21:20	And when ye se Ierusalem beseged with an hoste then vnderstonde that the desolacio of the same is nye.
21:21	Then let them which are in Iewrye flye to the mountaynes. And let them which are in the middes of it departe oute. And let not them that are in other countreis enter ther in.
21:22	For these be the dayes of vengeance to fulfill all that are writte.
21:23	But wo be to them that be with chylde and to them that geve sucke in those dayes: for ther shalbe greate trouble in the londe and wrath over all this people.
21:24	And they shall fall on the edge of the swearde and shalbe leed captive into all nacions. And Ierusalem shalbe trooden vnder fote of the gentyls vntyll the tyme of the gentyls be fulfilled.
21:25	And ther shalbe signes in the sunne ad in the mone and in the starres: and in ye erth the people shalbe in soche perplexite yt they shall not tell which waye to turne them selves. The see and the waters shall roore
21:26	and menes hertes shall fayle them for feare and for lokinge after thoose thinges which shall come on the erth. For the powers of heve shall move.
21:27	And then shall they se the sonne of ma come in a clowde with power and greate glory.
21:28	When these thinges begyn to come to passe: then loke vp and lifte vp youre heddes for youre redemcion draweth neye.
21:29	And he shewed the a similitude: beholde ye fygge tree and all other trees
21:30	when they shute forth their buddes ye se and knowe of youre awne selves that sommer is then nye at hod.
21:31	So lyke wyse ye (when ye se these thinges come to passe) vnderstonde that the kyngdome of God is neye.
21:32	Verely I saye vnto you: this generacion shall not passe tyll all be fulfilled.
21:33	Heaven and erth shall passe: but my wordes shall not passe.
21:34	Take hede to youre selves lest youre hertes be overcome with surfettinge and dronkennes and cares of this worlde: and that that daye come on you vnwares.
21:35	For as a snare shall it come on all them that sit on the face of the erthe.
21:36	Watche therfore continually and praye that ye maye obtayne grace to flye all this that shall come and that ye maye stonde before the sonne of man.
21:37	In the daye tyme he taught in the temple and at night he went out and had abydinge in the mount olivete.
21:38	And all the people came in the morninge to him in the temple for to heare him.
