22:1	Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
22:2	And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
22:3	Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
22:4	And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
22:5	And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
22:6	And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
22:7	Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
22:8	And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
22:9	And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
22:10	And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
22:11	And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
22:12	And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
22:13	And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
22:14	And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
22:15	And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
22:16	For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
22:17	And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
22:18	For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
22:19	And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
22:20	Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
22:21	But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22:22	And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
22:23	And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
22:24	And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
22:25	And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
22:26	But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
22:27	For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
22:28	Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
22:29	And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
22:30	That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
22:31	And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
22:32	But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
22:33	And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
22:34	And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
22:35	And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
22:36	Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
22:37	For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
22:38	And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
22:39	And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
22:40	And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
22:41	And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
22:42	Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
22:43	And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
22:44	And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
22:45	And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
22:46	And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
22:47	And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
22:48	But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
22:49	When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
22:50	And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
22:51	And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
22:52	Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
22:53	When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
22:54	Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.
22:55	And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
22:56	But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
22:57	And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
22:58	And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
22:59	And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
22:60	And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
22:61	And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
22:62	And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
22:63	And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
22:64	And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
22:65	And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
22:66	And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
22:67	Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
22:68	And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
22:69	Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
22:70	Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
22:71	And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.


22:1	ηγγιζεν δε η εορτη των αζυμων η λεγομενη πασχα
22:2	και εζητουν οι αρχιερεις και οι γραμματεις το πως ανελωσιν αυτον εφοβουντο γαρ τον λαον
22:3	εισηλθεν δε ο σατανας εις ιουδαν τον επικαλουμενον ισκαριωτην οντα εκ του αριθμου των δωδεκα
22:4	και απελθων συνελαλησεν τοις αρχιερευσιν και τοις στρατηγοις το πως αυτον παραδω αυτοις
22:5	και εχαρησαν και συνεθεντο αυτω αργυριον δουναι
22:6	και εξωμολογησεν και εζητει ευκαιριαν του παραδουναι αυτον αυτοις ατερ οχλου
22:7	ηλθεν δε η ημερα των αζυμων εν η εδει θυεσθαι το πασχα
22:8	και απεστειλεν πετρον και ιωαννην ειπων πορευθεντες ετοιμασατε ημιν το πασχα ινα φαγωμεν
22:9	οι δε ειπον αυτω που θελεις ετοιμασωμεν
22:10	ο δε ειπεν αυτοις ιδου εισελθοντων υμων εις την πολιν συναντησει υμιν ανθρωπος κεραμιον υδατος βασταζων ακολουθησατε αυτω εις την οικιαν ου εισπορευεται
22:11	και ερειτε τω οικοδεσποτη της οικιας λεγει σοι ο διδασκαλος που εστιν το καταλυμα οπου το πασχα μετα των μαθητων μου φαγω
22:12	κακεινος υμιν δειξει ανωγεον μεγα εστρωμενον εκει ετοιμασατε
22:13	απελθοντες δε ευρον καθως ειρηκεν αυτοις και ητοιμασαν το πασχα
22:14	και οτε εγενετο η ωρα ανεπεσεν και οι δωδεκα αποστολοι συν αυτω
22:15	και ειπεν προς αυτους επιθυμια επεθυμησα τουτο το πασχα φαγειν μεθ υμων προ του με παθειν
22:16	λεγω γαρ υμιν οτι ουκετι ου μη φαγω εξ αυτου εως οτου πληρωθη εν τη βασιλεια του θεου
22:17	και δεξαμενος ποτηριον ευχαριστησας ειπεν λαβετε τουτο και διαμερισατε εαυτοις
22:18	λεγω γαρ υμιν οτι ου μη πιω απο του γεννηματος της αμπελου εως οτου η βασιλεια του θεου ελθη
22:19	και λαβων αρτον ευχαριστησας εκλασεν και εδωκεν αυτοις λεγων τουτο εστιν το σωμα μου το υπερ υμων διδομενον τουτο ποιειτε εις την εμην αναμνησιν
22:20	ωσαυτως και το ποτηριον μετα το δειπνησαι λεγων τουτο το ποτηριον η καινη διαθηκη εν τω αιματι μου το υπερ υμων εκχυνομενον
22:21	πλην ιδου η χειρ του παραδιδοντος με μετ εμου επι της τραπεζης
22:22	και ο μεν υιος του ανθρωπου πορευεται κατα το ωρισμενον πλην ουαι τω ανθρωπω εκεινω δι ου παραδιδοται
22:23	και αυτοι ηρξαντο συζητειν προς εαυτους το τις αρα ειη εξ αυτων ο τουτο μελλων πρασσειν
22:24	εγενετο δε και φιλονεικια εν αυτοις το τις αυτων δοκει ειναι μειζων
22:25	ο δε ειπεν αυτοις οι βασιλεις των εθνων κυριευουσιν αυτων και οι εξουσιαζοντες αυτων ευεργεται καλουνται
22:26	υμεις δε ουχ ουτως αλλ ο μειζων εν υμιν γενεσθω ως ο νεωτερος και ο ηγουμενος ως ο διακονων
22:27	τις γαρ μειζων ο ανακειμενος η ο διακονων ουχι ο ανακειμενος εγω δε ειμι εν μεσω υμων ως ο διακονων
22:28	υμεις δε εστε οι διαμεμενηκοτες μετ εμου εν τοις πειρασμοις μου
22:29	καγω διατιθεμαι υμιν καθως διεθετο μοι ο πατηρ μου βασιλειαν
22:30	ινα εσθιητε και πινητε επι της τραπεζης μου εν τη βασιλεια μου και καθισησθε επι θρονων κρινοντες τας δωδεκα φυλας του ισραηλ
22:31	ειπεν δε ο κυριος σιμων σιμων ιδου ο σατανας εξητησατο υμας του σινιασαι ως τον σιτον
22:32	εγω δε εδεηθην περι σου ινα μη εκλειπη η πιστις σου και συ ποτε επιστρεψας στηριξον τους αδελφους σου
22:33	ο δε ειπεν αυτω κυριε μετα σου ετοιμος ειμι και εις φυλακην και εις θανατον πορευεσθαι
22:34	ο δε ειπεν λεγω σοι πετρε ου μη φωνησει σημερον αλεκτωρ πριν η τρις απαρνηση μη ειδεναι με
22:35	και ειπεν αυτοις οτε απεστειλα υμας ατερ βαλαντιου και πηρας και υποδηματων μη τινος υστερησατε οι δε ειπον ουδενος
22:36	ειπεν ουν αυτοις αλλα νυν ο εχων βαλαντιον αρατω ομοιως και πηραν και ο μη εχων πωλησατω το ιματιον αυτου και αγορασατω μαχαιραν
22:37	λεγω γαρ υμιν οτι ετι τουτο το γεγραμμενον δει τελεσθηναι εν εμοι το και μετα ανομων ελογισθη και γαρ τα περι εμου τελος εχει
22:38	οι δε ειπον κυριε ιδου μαχαιραι ωδε δυο ο δε ειπεν αυτοις ικανον εστιν
22:39	και εξελθων επορευθη κατα το εθος εις το ορος των ελαιων ηκολουθησαν δε αυτω και οι μαθηται αυτου
22:40	γενομενος δε επι του τοπου ειπεν αυτοις προσευχεσθε μη εισελθειν εις πειρασμον
22:41	και αυτος απεσπασθη απ αυτων ωσει λιθου βολην και θεις τα γονατα προσηυχετο
22:42	λεγων πατερ ει βουλει παρενεγκειν το ποτηριον τουτο απ εμου πλην μη το θελημα μου αλλα το σον γενεσθω
22:43	ωφθη δε αυτω αγγελος απ ουρανου ενισχυων αυτον
22:44	και γενομενος εν αγωνια εκτενεστερον προσηυχετο εγενετο δε ο ιδρως αυτου ωσει θρομβοι αιματος καταβαινοντες επι την γην
22:45	και αναστας απο της προσευχης ελθων προς τους μαθητας ευρεν αυτους κοιμωμενους απο της λυπης
22:46	και ειπεν αυτοις τι καθευδετε ανασταντες προσευχεσθε ινα μη εισελθητε εις πειρασμον
22:47	ετι δε αυτου λαλουντος ιδου οχλος και ο λεγομενος ιουδας εις των δωδεκα προηρχετο αυτων και ηγγισεν τω ιησου φιλησαι αυτον
22:48	ο δε ιησους ειπεν αυτω ιουδα φιληματι τον υιον του ανθρωπου παραδιδως
22:49	ιδοντες δε οι περι αυτον το εσομενον ειπον αυτω κυριε ει παταξομεν εν μαχαιρα
22:50	και επαταξεν εις τις εξ αυτων τον δουλον του αρχιερεως και αφειλεν αυτου το ους το δεξιον
22:51	αποκριθεις δε ο ιησους ειπεν εατε εως τουτου και αψαμενος του ωτιου αυτου ιασατο αυτον
22:52	ειπεν δε ο ιησους προς τους παραγενομενους επ αυτον αρχιερεις και στρατηγους του ιερου και πρεσβυτερους ως επι ληστην εξεληλυθατε μετα μαχαιρων και ξυλων
22:53	καθ ημεραν οντος μου μεθ υμων εν τω ιερω ουκ εξετεινατε τας χειρας επ εμε αλλ αυτη υμων εστιν η ωρα και η εξουσια του σκοτους
22:54	συλλαβοντες δε αυτον ηγαγον και εισηγαγον αυτον εις τον οικον του αρχιερεως ο δε πετρος ηκολουθει μακροθεν
22:55	αψαντων δε πυρ εν μεσω της αυλης και συγκαθισαντων αυτων εκαθητο ο πετρος εν μεσω αυτων
22:56	ιδουσα δε αυτον παιδισκη τις καθημενον προς το φως και ατενισασα αυτω ειπεν και ουτος συν αυτω ην
22:57	ο δε ηρνησατο αυτον λεγων γυναι ουκ οιδα αυτον
22:58	και μετα βραχυ ετερος ιδων αυτον εφη και συ εξ αυτων ει ο δε πετρος ειπεν ανθρωπε ουκ ειμι
22:59	και διαστασης ωσει ωρας μιας αλλος τις διισχυριζετο λεγων επ αληθειας και ουτος μετ αυτου ην και γαρ γαλιλαιος εστιν
22:60	ειπεν δε ο πετρος ανθρωπε ουκ οιδα ο λεγεις και παραχρημα ετι λαλουντος αυτου εφωνησεν ο αλεκτωρ
22:61	και στραφεις ο κυριος ενεβλεψεν τω πετρω και υπεμνησθη ο πετρος του λογου του κυριου ως ειπεν αυτω οτι πριν αλεκτορα φωνησαι απαρνηση με τρις
22:62	και εξελθων εξω ο πετρος εκλαυσεν πικρως
22:63	και οι ανδρες οι συνεχοντες τον ιησουν ενεπαιζον αυτω δεροντες
22:64	και περικαλυψαντες αυτον ετυπτον αυτου το προσωπον και επηρωτων αυτον λεγοντες προφητευσον τις εστιν ο παισας σε
22:65	και ετερα πολλα βλασφημουντες ελεγον εις αυτον
22:66	και ως εγενετο ημερα συνηχθη το πρεσβυτεριον του λαου αρχιερεις τε και γραμματεις και ανηγαγον αυτον εις το συνεδριον εαυτων λεγοντες
22:67	ει συ ει ο χριστος ειπε ημιν ειπεν δε αυτοις εαν υμιν ειπω ου μη πιστευσητε
22:68	εαν δε και ερωτησω ου μη αποκριθητε μοι η απολυσητε
22:69	απο του νυν εσται ο υιος του ανθρωπου καθημενος εκ δεξιων της δυναμεως του θεου
22:70	ειπον δε παντες συ ουν ει ο υιος του θεου ο δε προς αυτους εφη υμεις λεγετε οτι εγω ειμι
22:71	οι δε ειπον τι ετι χρειαν εχομεν μαρτυριας αυτοι γαρ ηκουσαμεν απο του στοματος αυτου


22:1	The feaste of swete breed drue nye whiche is called ester
22:2	and the hye prestes and Scribes sought how to kyll him but they feared the people.
22:3	Then entred Satan into Iudas whose syr name was Iscariot (which was of the nombre of the twelve)
22:4	and he went his waye and comuned with the hye Prestes and officers how he might betraye him to them.
22:5	And they were glad: and promysed to geve him money.
22:6	And he consented and sought oportunite to betraye him vnto them when the people were awaye.
22:7	Then came ye daye of swete breed when of necessite the esterlambe must be offered.
22:8	And he sent Peter and Iohn sayinge: Goo and prepare vs the ester lambe that we maye eate.
22:9	They sayde to him. Where wilt thou yt we prepare?
22:10	And he sayd vnto them. Beholde when ye be entred into the cite ther shall a man mete you bearinge a pitcher of water him folowe into the same housse yt he entreth in
22:11	and saye vnto ye good ma of ye housse. The master sayeth vnto ye: where is ye gest chamber where I shall eate myne ester lambe wt my disciples?
22:12	And he shall shew you a greate parloure paved. Ther make redy.
22:13	And they wet and foude as he had sayd vnto the: and made redy ye ester lambe.
22:14	And when the houre was come he sate doune and the twelve Apostles with him.
22:15	And he sayde vnto them: I have inwardly desyred to eate this ester lambe with you before yt I suffre.
22:16	For I saye vnto you: hence forthe I will not eate of it eny moore vntill it be fulfilled in the kingdome of God.
22:17	And he toke the cup and gave thankes and sayde. Take this and devyde it amonge you.
22:18	For I saye vnto you: I will not drinke of the frute of the vyne vntill the kingdome of God be come.
22:19	And he toke breed gave thankes and gave to them sayinge: This is my body which is geven for you. This do in the remembraunce of me.
22:20	Lykewyse also when they had supped he toke the cup sayinge: This cup is the newe testament in my bloud which shall for you be shedde.
22:21	Yet beholde the honde of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22:22	And ye sonne of man goeth as it is appoynted: But wo be to yt man by whom he is betrayed.
22:23	And they began to enquyre amoge them selves which of them it shuld be that shuld do that.
22:24	And ther was a stryfe amoge the which of them shuld be taken for the greatest.
22:25	And he sayde vnto them: the kynges of the getyls raygne over them and they that beare rule over them are called gracious lordes.
22:26	But ye shall not be so. But he that is greatest amonge you shalbe as the yongest: and he that is chefe shalbe as the minister.
22:27	For whether is greater he that sitteth at meate: or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at meate? And I am amoge you as he that ministreth.
22:28	Ye are they which have bidden with me in my temptacions.
22:29	And I apoynt vnto you a kyngdome as my father hath appoynted to me:
22:30	that ye maye eate and drynke at my table in my kyngdome and sit on seates and iudge the twelve tribes of Israell.
22:31	And the Lorde sayde: Simon Simon beholde Satan hath desired you to sifte you as it were wheate:
22:32	bnt I have prayed for the that thy faith fayle not. And when thou arte converted strengthe thy brethre.
22:33	And he sayd vnto him. Lorde I am redy to go with the in to preson and to deth.
22:34	And he sayde: I tell the Peter the cocke shall not crowe this daye tyll thou have thryse denyed yt thou knewest me.
22:35	And he sayde vnto them: when I sent you with out wallet and scripe and shoes? lacked ye eny thinge? And they sayd no.
22:36	And he sayde to them: but nowe he that hath a wallet let him take it vp and lykewyse his scrippe. And he that hath no swearde let him sell his coote and bye one.
22:37	For I saye vnto you that yet that which is written must be performed in me: even with the wycked was he nombred. For those thinges which are written of me have an ende.
22:38	And they sayde: Lorde beholde here are two sweardes. And he sayde vnto them: it is ynough.
22:39	And he came out and went as he was wote to mounte olivete. And the disciples folowed him.
22:40	And when he came to the place he sayde to the: praye lest ye fall into temptacio.
22:41	And he gate him selfe from them about a stones cast and kneled doune and prayed
22:42	sayinge: Father yf thou wilt withdrawe this cup fro me. Neverthelesse not my will but thyne be be fulfilled.
22:43	And ther appered an angell vnto him from heaven confortinge him.
22:44	And he was in an agonye and prayed somwhat longer. And hys sweate was lyke droppes of bloud tricklynge doune to the grounde.
22:45	And he rose vp from prayer and came to his disciples and foude them slepinge for sorowe
22:46	and sayde vnto them: Why slepe ye? Ryse and praye lest ye fall into temptacion.
22:47	Whill he yet spake: beholde ther came a company and he that was called Iudas one of the twelve wet before them and preased nye vnto Iesus to kysse him.
22:48	And Iesus sayd vnto him: Iudas betrayest thou ye sonne of man with a kysse?
22:49	When they which were about him sawe what wolde folow they sayde vnto him. Lorde shall we smite with swearde.
22:50	And one of them smote a servaut of ye hiest preste of all and smote of his right eare.
22:51	And Iesus answered and sayd: Soffre ye thus farre forthe. And he touched his eare and healed him.
22:52	Then Iesus sayde vnto the hye prestes and rulers of the temple and the elders which were come to him. Be ye come out as vnto a thefe with sweardes and staves?
22:53	When I was dayly with you in the teple ye stretched not forth hondes agaynst me. But this is even youre very houre and the power of darcknes.
22:54	Then toke they him and ledde him and brought him to the hye prestes housse. And peter folowed a farre of.
22:55	When they had kyndled a fyre in the middes of the palys and were set doune to geder Peter also sate doune amonge them.
22:56	And wone of the wenches behelde him as he sate by the fyer and set good eyesight on him and sayde: this same was also with him.
22:57	Then he denyed hym sayinge: woman I knowe him not
22:58	And after a lytell whyle another sawe him and sayde: thou arte also of them. And Peter sayd man I am not.
22:59	And aboute the space of an houre after another affirmed sayinge: verely even this felowe was with hym for he is of Galile
22:60	and Peter sayde: ma I woote not what thou sayest. And immediatly whyll he yet spake the cocke crewe.
22:61	And the Lorde tourned backe and loked apon Peter. And Peter remembred the wordes of the Lorde how he sayde vnto him before ye cocke crowe thou shalt denye me thryse.
22:62	And Peter went out and wepte bitterly.
22:63	And the men that stode about Iesus mocked him and smoote him
22:64	and blyndfolded him and smoote his face. And axed him sayinge: arede who it is that smoote ye?
22:65	And many other thinges despytfullye sayd they agaynst him.
22:66	And assone as it was daye the elders of the people and the hye prestes and scribes came to gedder and ledde him into their counsell sayinge:
22:67	arte thou very Christ? tell vs. And he sayde vnto the: yf I shall tell you ye will not beleve
22:68	And yf also I axe you ye will not answere me or let me goo.
22:69	Herafter shall the sonne of man sit on the ryght honde of the power of God.
22:70	Then sayde they all: Arte thou then the sonne of God? He sayd to them: ye saye yt I am.
22:71	Then sayde they: what nede we eny further witnes? We oure selves have herde of his awne mouthe.
