John - Chapter: 3

>
3:1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of ye Iewes:
3:2The same came to Iesus by night, and said vnto him, Rabbi, wee know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can doe these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3:3Iesus answered, and said vnto him, Uerily, verily I say vnto thee, except a man be borne againe, he cannot see the kingdome of God.
3:4Nicodemus saith vnto him, How can a man be borne when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mothers wombe, and be borne?
3:5Iesus answered, Uerily, verily I say vnto thee, except a man be borne of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdome of God.
3:6That which is borne of the flesh, is flesh, and that which is borne of the spirit, is spirit.
3:7Marueile not that I saide vnto thee, Ye must be borne againe.
3:8The winde bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tel whence it commeth, and whither it goeth: So is euery one that is borne of the Spirit.
3:9Nicodemus answered, and said vnto him, How can these things be?
3:10Iesus answered, and saide vnto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
3:11Uerely, verely I say vnto thee, We speake that we doe know, and testifie that wee haue seene; and yee receiue not our witnesse.
3:12If I haue tolde you earthly things, and ye beleeue not: how shall ye beleeue if I tell you of heauenly things?
3:13And no man hath ascended vp to heauen, but hee that came downe from heauen, euen the Sonne of man which is in heauen.
3:14And as Moses lifted vp the serpent in the wildernesse: euen so must the Sonne of man be lifted vp:
3:15That whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue eternall life.
3:16For God so loued ye world, that he gaue his only begotten Sonne: that whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue euerlasting life.
3:17For God sent not his Sonne into the world to condemne the world: but that the world through him might be saued.
3:18He that beleeueth on him, is not condemned: but hee that beleeueth not, is condemned already, because hee hath not beleeued in the Name of the onely begotten Sonne of God.
3:19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loued darknesse rather then light, because their deedes were euill.
3:20For euery one that doeth euill, hateth the light, neither commeth to the light, lest his deeds should be reproued.
3:21But hee that doeth trueth, commeth to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
3:22After these things, came Iesus and his disciples into the land of Iudea, and there hee taried with them, and baptized.
3:23And Iohn also was baptizing in Aenon, neere to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
3:24For Iohn was not yet cast into prison.
3:25Then there arose a question between some of Iohns disciples and the Iewes, about purifying.
3:26And they came vnto Iohn, and said vnto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Iordane, to whom thou barest witnesse, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
3:27Iohn answered, and said, A man can receiue nothing, except it be giuen him from heauen.
3:28Ye your selues beare me witnesse, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
3:29He that hath the bride, is the bridegrome: but the friend of the bridegrome, which standeth and heareth him, reioyceth greatly because of the bridegromes voice: This my ioy therefore is fulfilled.
3:30Hee must increase, but I must decrease.
3:31Hee that commeth from aboue, is aboue all: hee that is of the earth, is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: hee that cometh from heauen is aboue all:
3:32And what hee hath seene and heard, that he testifieth, and no man receiueth his testimony:
3:33He that hath receiued his testimonie, hath set to his seale, that God is true.
3:34For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: For God giueth not the Spirit by measure vnto him.
3:35The Father loueth the Sonne, and hath giuen al things into his hand.
3:36He that beleeueth on the Sonne, hath euerlasting life: and he that beleeueth not the Sonne, shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him.

3:1There was nowe a man of the Pharises, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Iewes.
3:2This man came to Iesus by night, and sayd vnto him, Rabbi, we knowe ye thou art a teacher come from God: for no man could do these miracles that thou doest, except God were with him.
3:3Iesus answered, and said vnto him, Verely, verely I say vnto thee, except a man be borne againe, he can not see the kingdome of God.
3:4Nicodemus sayde vnto him, Howe can a man be borne which is olde? can he enter into his mothers wombe againe, and be borne?
3:5Iesus answered, Verely, verely I say vnto thee, except that a man be borne of water and of the Spirite, hee can not enter into the kingdome of God.
3:6That which is borne of the flesh, is flesh: and that that is borne of the Spirit, is spirit.
3:7Marueile not that I said to thee, Yee must be borne againe.
3:8The winde bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it commeth, and whither it goeth: so is euery man that is borne of the Spirit.
3:9Nicodemus answered, and said vnto him, Howe can these things be?
3:10Iesus answered, and saide vnto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
3:11Verely, verely I say vnto thee, wee speake that we know, and testifie that we haue seene: but yee receiue not our witnesse.
3:12If when I tel you earthly things, ye beleeue not, howe should yee beleeue, if I shall tel you of heauenly things?
3:13For no man ascendeth vp to heauen, but he that hath descended from heauen, that Sonne of man which is in heauen.
3:14And as Moses lift vp the serpent in the wildernesse, so must that Sonne of man be lift vp,
3:15That whosoeuer beleeueth in him, shoulde not perish, but haue eternall life.
3:16For God so loued the worlde, that hee hath giuen his onely begotten Sonne, that whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue euerlasting life.
3:17For God sent not his Sonne into the world, that he should condemne the world, but that the world through him might be saued.
3:18Hee that beleeueth in him, is not condemned: but hee that beleeueth not, is condemned already, because he hath not beleeued in the Name of that onely begotten Sonne of God.
3:19And this is the condemnation, that that light came into the worlde, and men loued darknesse rather then that light, because their deedes were euill.
3:20For euery man that euill doeth, hateth the light, neither commeth to light, least his deedes should be reprooued.
3:21But he that doeth trueth, commeth to the light, that his deedes might bee made manifest, that they are wrought according to God.
3:22After these things, came Iesus and his disciples into the lande of Iudea, and there taried with them, and baptized.
3:23And Iohn also baptized in Enon besides Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
3:24For Iohn was not yet cast into prison.
3:25Then there arose a question betweene Iohns disciples and the Iewes, about purifying.
3:26And they came vnto Iohn, and saide vnto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Iorden, to whom thou barest witnesse, behold, he baptizeth, and all men come to him.
3:27Iohn answered, and saide, A man can receiue nothing, except it be giuen him from heauen.
3:28Yee your selues are my witnesses, that I sayde, I am not that Christ, but that I am sent before him.
3:29He that hath the bride, is the bridegrome: but the friend of the bridegrome which standeth and heareth him, reioyceth greatly, because of the bridegromes voyce. This my ioy therefore is fulfilled.
3:30He must increase, but I must decrease.
3:31Hee that is come from an hie, is aboue all: he that is of the earth, is of the earth, and speaketh of the earth: hee that is come from heauen, is aboue all.
3:32And what hee hath seene and heard, that he testifieth: but no man receiueth his testimonie.
3:33He that hath receiued his testimonie, hath sealed that God is true.
3:34For hee whome God hath sent, speaketh the woordes of God: for God giueth him not the Spirit by measure.
3:35The Father loueth the Sonne, and hath giuen all things into his hande.
3:36Hee that beleeueth in the Sonne, hath euerlasting life, and hee that obeyeth not the Sonne, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.

3:1Ther was a man of the Pharises named Nycodemus, a ruler of the Iewes.
3:2The same cam to Iesus by nyght, and sayde vnto him: Rabbi, we knowe that thou arte a teacher come from God: for no man coulde do suche myracles as thou doest, except God were wt him.
3:3Iesus answered & sayd vnto him: Uerely, verely, I saye vnto the, except a man be borne from aboue, he cannot se the kyngdom of God.
3:4Nicodemus sayeth vnto hym how can a man be borne when he is olde? can he enter into hys mothers wombe and be borne agayne?
3:5Iesus answered verely, verely, I saye vnto the: except a man be borne of water & of the sprete, he cannot enter into the kyngdom of God,
3:6That whych is borne of the flesshe, is flesshe, and that which is borne of the sprete, is sprete.
3:7Maruayle not thou that I sayd to the, ye must be borne from aboue.
3:8The wynde bloweth where it lysteth, & thou hearest the sounde therof but canst not tell whence it commeth & whether it goeth. So is euery one that is borne of the sprete.
3:9Nicodemus answered and sayde vnto hym how can these thynges be?
3:10Iesus answered & sayde vnto hym: art thou a master in Israel, & knowest not these thinges?
3:11Uerely, verely I saye vnto the: we speake that we do knowe, & testify that we haue sene: and ye receaue not oure wytnes.
3:12If I haue tolde you earthly thinges, and ye beleue not: how shall ye beleue, yf I tell you of heauenly thynges.
3:13And no man ascendeth vp to heauen, but he that came doune from heauen, euen the sonne of man whych is in heauen:
3:14And as Moses lyfte vp the serpent in the wyldernes, euen so must the sonne of man be lyfte vp,
3:15that whosoeuer beleueth in him, perysshe not, but haue eternall lyfe.
3:16For God so loue the worlde, that, he gaue is only begotten sonne, that whosoeuer beleueth in him, shulde not perisshe, but haue euerlastyng lyfe.
3:17For God sent not his sonne into the worlde, to condempne the worlde but that the world through him myght be saued.
3:18He that beleueth on him, is not condemned. But he that beleueth not, is condemned all ready, because he hath not beleued in the name of the onely begotten sonne of God,
3:19And thys is the condemnacion: that lyght is come into the world, and men loued darcknes more then light, because their dedes were euyll.
3:20For euery one that euyll doeth, hateth the lyght: nether commeth to the lyght, lest his dedes shuld be reproued.
3:21But he that doth trueth, commeth to the lyght, that hys dedes maye be knowen, how that they are wrought in God.
3:22After these thinges cam Iesus & his disciples into the land of Iewry & ther he taried with them. and baptysed,
3:23And Iohn also baptised in Enon besydes Salim, because ther was moch water there, & they came & were baptised.
3:24For Iohn was not yet cast into preson.
3:25And ther arose a question betwene Iohns disciples and the Iewes, aboute purifyinge.
3:26And they came vnto Iohn, & sayde vnto him: Rabbi, he that was wyth the beyonde Iordan (to whom thou barest wytnes) beholde the same baptiseth & all men come to hym.
3:27Iohn answered, & sayde: a man can receaue nothinge, except it be geuen him from heauen.
3:28Ye youre selues are witnesses how that I sayd: I am not Christ, but am sent before him:
3:29He that hath the bryde, is the brydegrome. But the frende of the brydegrome, whych standeth and heareth hym, reioyseth greatly because of the brydegromes voyce. This my ioye therfore is fulfilled.
3:30He must increace: but I must decreace.
3:31He that commeth from an hye, is aboue all: He that is of the erth, is earthly, and speaketh of the erth. He that commeth from heauen, is aboue all,
3:32& what he hath sene and hearde: that he testifieth: and no man receaueth hys testimonye.
3:33He that hath receaued hys testimonie hath set to hys seale, that God is true.
3:34For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the wordes of God: For God geueth not the sprete by measure vnto him.
3:35The father loueth the sonne & hath geuen all thynges into hys hande
3:36He that beleueth on the sonne hath euerlastinge lyfe: He that beleueth not the sonne, shall not se lyfe, but the wrath of God abydeth on him.
