John - Chapter: 3

>
3:1Ther was a man of the Pharises named Nicodemus a ruler amonge the Iewes.
3:2The same came to Iesus by nyghte & sayed vnto him: Rabbi, we knowe that thou art a teacher whiche art come from God. For no man coulde do such miracles as thou doest, except God were wt him.
3:3Iesus aunswered & said to him: verely verely, I said vnto the: except a man be borne a new, he can not se the kingdome of God.
3:4Nicodemus said vnto him: how can a man be borne when he is olde? can he enter into his mothers wombe and be borne againe?
3:5Iesus aunswered: verely, verely, I saye vnto the: except that a man be boren of water and of the spyryte, he can not enter into the kyngdome of God.
3:6That whyche is borne of the fleshe is fleshe: and that whiche is borne of the spyryte, is spyrite.
3:7Marueyle not that I said to the, ye must be borne a newe.
3:8The wynde bloweth wher it listeth: and thou hearest the sounde therof: but canst not tell whence it cometh and whyther it goeth: So is euery man that is borne of the spyryte.
3:9And Nicodemus aunswered and said vnto him: how can these thinges be?
3:10Iesus aunswered & said vnto him: art thou a maister in Israel, and knowest not these thinges?
3:11Verely, verely, I say vnto the we speake that we know and testify that we haue sene, & ye receiue not our witnes.
3:12Yf when I tel you earthly thinges ye beleue not: howe shoulde ye beleue if I shal tell you of heauenly thinges?
3:13And no man ascendeth vp to heauen, but he that came doune from heauen, that is to say, the sonne of man which is in heauen.
3:14And as Moyses lyfte vp the serpent in the wyldernes, euen so muste the sonne of man be lyft vp,
3:15that none that beleueth in him perish, but haue eternall life.
3:16For God so loueth the worlde, that he hath geuen his only sonne, that none that beleue in him, should perishe: but should haue euerlastinge lyfe.
3:17For God sent not his sonne into the world, to condempne the worlde: but that the world through him, might be saued.
3:18He that beleueth on him, shal not be condempned. But he that beleueth not is condempned allready, because he beleueth not in the name of the onlye sonne of God.
3:19And this is the condempnacion, that light is come into the worlde, and the men loued darknes more then lyght, because their dedes were euyll.
3:20For euerye man that euyll doth, hateth the light: nether commeth to the lyghte: lest his dedes shoulde be reproued.
3:21But he that doeth truth commeth to the light that hys dedes myght be knowen, how that they are wrought in God.
3:22After these thinges came Iesus & his dysciples into the Iewes lande, and ther he haunted wyth them & baptised.
3:23And Iohn also baptysed in Enon besides Salim, because ther was much water there, & they came and were baptised.
3:24For Iohn was not yet cast into pryson.
3:25And ther arose a question betwene Iohns disciples and the Iewes aboute purifyinge.
3:26And they came vnto Iohn, and sayed vnto hym: Rabbie, he that was with the beyond Iordan, to whom thou bareste witnes, Beholde the same baptyseth, and al men come to him.
3:27Iohn aunswered, and sayed: a man can receiue nothing at al except it be geuen him from heauen.
3:28Ye youre selues are witnesses how that I saide: I am not Christ, but am sent before him.
3:29He that hath the bryde is the brydegrome. But the frend of the brydegrom, whiche standeth by and heareth him reioyseth greatlye of the brydegromes voyce. Thys my ioye is fulfilled.
3:30He muste increace: and I muste decreace.
3:31He that commeth from an hye is aboue al. He that is of the earth, is of the earth, & speaketh of the earth. He that commeth from heauen, is aboue all,
3:32and what he hath sene and hearde: that he testifyeth: but no man receiueth his testimony.
3:33Howbeit he that hath receiueth his testimony hath set to his seale that God is true.
3:34For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the wordes of God: For God geueth not the spirite by measure.
3:35The father loueth the sonne and hath geuen all thinges into his hand.
3:36He that beleueth on the sonne, hath euerlasting life, and he that beleueth not the sonne shall not se life: but the wrath of God abydeth on him.

3:2The same came to Iesus by night, & said vnto him: Rabbi, we knowe that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man coulde do these miracles that thou doest, except God were with him.
3:3Iesus aunswered, & sayde vnto hym: Ueryly, veryly, I say vnto thee, except a man be borne agayne, he can not see the kyngdome of God.
3:4Nicodemus sayth vnto hym: Howe can a man be borne when he is olde? can he enter into his mothers wombe, and be borne agayne?
3:5Iesus aunswered: Ueryly, veryly, I say vnto thee, except a man be borne of water and of the spirite, he can not enter into the kyngdome of God.
3:6That which is borne of the fleshe, is fleshe: and that which is borne of the spirite, is spirite.

3:8The wynde bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sounde therof: but canst not tell whence it commeth, and whither it goeth. So is euery one that is borne of the spirite.
3:9Nicodemus aunswered, and sayde vnto hym: howe can these thynges be?
3:10Iesus aunswered, & sayde vnto hym: Art thou a maister in Israel, and knowest not thesethynges?
3:11Ueryly, veryly, I say vnto thee, we speake that we do knowe, & testifie that we haue seene: and ye receaue not our witnesse.
3:12If I haue tolde you earthly thynges, and ye beleue not: howe shall ye beleue, yf I tell you of heauenly thynges?
3:13And no man ascendeth vp to heauen, but he that came downe from heauen, euen the sonne of man which is in heauen.
3:14And as Moyses lyft vp the serpent in the wyldernesse: euen so must the sonne of man be lyft vp:
3:15That whosoeuer beleueth in hym, perishe not, but haue eternall lyfe.
3:16For God so loued the worlde, that he gaue his only begotten sonne, that whosoeuer beleueth in hym, shoulde not perishe, but haue euerlastyng lyfe.
3:17For God sent not his sonne into the worlde, to condempne the worlde: but that the worlde through hym myght be saued. He that beleueth on hym, is not condempned:
3:18But he that beleueth not, is condempned alredy, because he hath not beleued in the name of the only begotte sonne of God.
3:19And this is the condempnation: that lyght is come into the worlde, and men loued darknesse rather then lyght, because their deedes were euyll.
3:20For euery one that euyll doeth, hateth the lyght: neither commeth to the light, lest his deedes shoulde be reproued.
3:21But he that doeth trueth, cometh to the lyght, yt his deedes may be knowen, howe that they are wrought in God.
3:22After these thynges, came Iesus and his disciples into the lande of Iurie, and there he taryed with the, & baptized.
3:23And Iohn also baptized in Enon, besides Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
3:24For Iohn was not yet cast into prison.
3:25And there arose a question betwene Iohns disciples and the Iewes, about purifiyng.
3:26And they came vnto Iohn, and sayde vnto hym: Rabbi, he that was with thee beyonde Iordane, to whom thou barest witnesse, beholde the same baptizeth, and all men come to hym.
3:27Iohn aunswered, and sayde: A man can receaue nothyng, except it be geuen hym from heauen.
3:28Ye your selues are witnesses, howe that I sayde I am not Christe, but am sent before hym.
3:29He that hath ye bride, is the bridegrome. But the friende of the brydegrome, which standeth & heareth him, reioyceth greatly because of ye brydegromes voyce. This my ioy therfore is fulfylled.
3:30He must increace, but I must decreace.
3:31He that commeth from an hye, is aboue all: He that is of the earth, is earthlye, and speaketh of the earth. He that commeth from heauen, is aboue all:
3:32And what he hath seene and hearde, that he testifieth: and no man receaueth his testimonie.
3:33He that hath receaued his testimonie, hath set to his seale, that God is true.
3:34For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the wordes of God: For God geueth not the spirite by measure vnto hym.
3:35The father loueth the sonne, and hath geuen all thynges into his hande.
3:36He that beleueth on the sonne, hath euerlastyng lyfe: He that beleueth not the sonne, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abydeth on hym.

3:1There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
3:2The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3:3Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
3:4Nicodemus saith to him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
3:5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
3:6That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.
3:7Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born again.
3:8The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the sound of it, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
3:9Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?
3:10Jesus answered and said to him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
3:11Verily, verily, I say to thee, We speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; and ye receive not our testimony.
3:12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe if I tell you heavenly things?
3:13And no man hath ascended to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man who is in heaven.
3:14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
3:15That whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him may be saved.
3:18He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
3:19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
3:20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
3:21But he that doeth truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
3:22After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
3:23And John also was baptizing in Enon, near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
3:24For John was not yet cast into prison.
3:25Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews, about purifying.
3:26And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
3:27John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
3:28Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
3:29He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
3:30He must increase, but I must decrease.
3:31He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
3:32And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
3:33He that hath received his testimony, hath set to his seal that God is true.
3:34For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for to him God giveth not the Spirit by measure.
3:35The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
3:36He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
