| 3:2 | And he cam to Jhesu bi niyt, and seide to hym, Rabi, we witen, that thou art comun fro God maister; for no man may do these signes, that thou doist, but God be with hym. |
| 3:3 | Jhesus answerde, and seide to hym, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen, he may not se the kyngdom of God. |
| 3:4 | Nychodeme seide to hym, Hou may a man be borun, whanne he is eeld? whether he may entre ayen in to his modris wombe, and be borun ayen? |
| 3:5 | Jhesus answeride, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen of watir, and of the Hooli Goost, he may not entre in to the kyngdom of God. |
| 3:6 | `That that is borun of the fleisch, is fleisch; and `that that is borun of spirit, is spirit. |
| 3:7 | Wondre thou not, for Y seide to thee, It bihoueth you to be borun ayen. |
| 3:8 | The spirit brethith where he wole, and thou herist his vois, but thou wost not, fro whennus he cometh, ne whidir he goith; so is ech man that is borun of the spirit. |
| 3:9 | Nychodeme answeride, and seide to hym, Hou moun these thingis be don? |
| 3:10 | Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, Thou art a maister in Israel, and knowist not these thingis? |
| 3:11 | Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, for we speken that that we witen, and we witnessen that that we han seyn, and ye taken not oure witnessyng. |
| 3:12 | If Y haue seid to you ertheli thingis, and ye bileuen not, hou if Y seie to you heueneli thingis, schulen ye bileue? |
| 3:13 | And no man stieth in to heuene, but he that cam doun fro heuene, mannys sone that is in heuene. |
| 3:14 | And as Moises areride a serpent in desert, so it bihoueth mannys sone to be reisid, |
| 3:15 | that ech man that bileueth in hym, perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf. |
| 3:16 | For God louede so the world, that he yaf his `oon bigetun sone, that ech man that bileueth in him perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf. |
| 3:17 | For God sente not his sone in to the world, that he iuge the world, but that the world be saued bi him. |
| 3:18 | He that bileueth in hym, is not demed; but he that bileueth not, is now demed, for he bileueth not in the name of the `oon bigetun sone of God. |
| 3:19 | And this is the dom, for liyt cam in to the world, and men loueden more derknessis than liyt; for her werkes weren yuele. |
| 3:20 | For ech man that doith yuele, hatith the liyt; and he cometh not to the liyt, that hise werkis be not repreued. |
| 3:21 | But he that doith treuthe, cometh to the liyt, that hise werkis be schewid, that thei ben don in God. |

| 3:24 | And Joon was not yit sent in to prisoun. |
| 3:25 | Therfor a questioun was maad of Jonys disciplis with the Jewis, of the purificacioun. |
| 3:26 | And thei camen to Joon, and seiden `to hym, Maister, he that was with thee biyonde Jordan, to whom thou hast borun witnessyng, lo! he baptisith, and alle men comen to hym. |
| 3:27 | Joon answerde, and seide, A man may not take ony thing, but it be youun to hym fro heuene. |
| 3:28 | Ye you silf beren witnessyng to me, that Y seide, Y am not Crist, but that Y am sent bifore hym. |
| 3:29 | He that hath a wijf, is the hosebonde; but the freend of the spouse that stondith, and herith hym, ioieth with ioye, for the vois of the spouse. Therfor in this thing my ioye is fulfillid. |
| 3:30 | It bihoueth hym to wexe, but me to be maad lesse. |
| 3:31 | He that cam from aboue, is aboue alle; he that is of the erthe, spekith of the erthe; he that cometh from heuene, is aboue alle. |
| 3:32 | And he witnessith that thing that he hath seie, and herde, and no man takith his witnessing. |
| 3:33 | But he that takith his witnessyng, hath confermyd that God is sothefast. |

| 3:36 | He that bileueth in the sone, hath euerlastynge lijf; but he that is vnbileueful to the sone, schal not se euerlastynge lijf, but the wraththe of God dwellith on hym. |
| 3:1 | There was nowe a man of the Pharises, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Iewes. |
| 3:2 | This man came to Iesus by night, and sayd vnto him, Rabbi, we knowe ye thou art a teacher come from God: for no man could do these miracles that thou doest, except God were with him. |
| 3:3 | Iesus answered, and said vnto him, Verely, verely I say vnto thee, except a man be borne againe, he can not see the kingdome of God. |
| 3:4 | Nicodemus sayde vnto him, Howe can a man be borne which is olde? can he enter into his mothers wombe againe, and be borne? |
| 3:5 | Iesus answered, Verely, verely I say vnto thee, except that a man be borne of water and of the Spirite, hee can not enter into the kingdome of God. |
| 3:6 | That which is borne of the flesh, is flesh: and that that is borne of the Spirit, is spirit. |
| 3:7 | Marueile not that I said to thee, Yee must be borne againe. |
| 3:8 | The winde bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it commeth, and whither it goeth: so is euery man that is borne of the Spirit. |
| 3:9 | Nicodemus answered, and said vnto him, Howe can these things be? |
| 3:10 | Iesus answered, and saide vnto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things? |
| 3:11 | Verely, verely I say vnto thee, wee speake that we know, and testifie that we haue seene: but yee receiue not our witnesse. |
| 3:12 | If when I tel you earthly things, ye beleeue not, howe should yee beleeue, if I shall tel you of heauenly things? |
| 3:13 | For no man ascendeth vp to heauen, but he that hath descended from heauen, that Sonne of man which is in heauen. |
| 3:14 | And as Moses lift vp the serpent in the wildernesse, so must that Sonne of man be lift vp, |
| 3:15 | That whosoeuer beleeueth in him, shoulde not perish, but haue eternall life. |
| 3:16 | For God so loued the worlde, that hee hath giuen his onely begotten Sonne, that whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue euerlasting life. |
| 3:17 | For God sent not his Sonne into the world, that he should condemne the world, but that the world through him might be saued. |
| 3:18 | Hee that beleeueth in him, is not condemned: but hee that beleeueth not, is condemned already, because he hath not beleeued in the Name of that onely begotten Sonne of God. |
| 3:19 | And this is the condemnation, that that light came into the worlde, and men loued darknesse rather then that light, because their deedes were euill. |
| 3:20 | For euery man that euill doeth, hateth the light, neither commeth to light, least his deedes should be reprooued. |
| 3:21 | But he that doeth trueth, commeth to the light, that his deedes might bee made manifest, that they are wrought according to God. |
| 3:22 | After these things, came Iesus and his disciples into the lande of Iudea, and there taried with them, and baptized. |
| 3:23 | And Iohn also baptized in Enon besides Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. |
| 3:24 | For Iohn was not yet cast into prison. |
| 3:25 | Then there arose a question betweene Iohns disciples and the Iewes, about purifying. |
| 3:26 | And they came vnto Iohn, and saide vnto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Iorden, to whom thou barest witnesse, behold, he baptizeth, and all men come to him. |
| 3:27 | Iohn answered, and saide, A man can receiue nothing, except it be giuen him from heauen. |
| 3:28 | Yee your selues are my witnesses, that I sayde, I am not that Christ, but that I am sent before him. |
| 3:29 | He that hath the bride, is the bridegrome: but the friend of the bridegrome which standeth and heareth him, reioyceth greatly, because of the bridegromes voyce. This my ioy therefore is fulfilled. |
| 3:30 | He must increase, but I must decrease. |
| 3:31 | Hee that is come from an hie, is aboue all: he that is of the earth, is of the earth, and speaketh of the earth: hee that is come from heauen, is aboue all. |
| 3:32 | And what hee hath seene and heard, that he testifieth: but no man receiueth his testimonie. |
| 3:33 | He that hath receiued his testimonie, hath sealed that God is true. |
| 3:34 | For hee whome God hath sent, speaketh the woordes of God: for God giueth him not the Spirit by measure. |
| 3:35 | The Father loueth the Sonne, and hath giuen all things into his hande. |
| 3:36 | Hee that beleeueth in the Sonne, hath euerlasting life, and hee that obeyeth not the Sonne, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. |
| 3:1 | There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. |
| 3:2 | This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; because, no one can do these miracles that You do unless God is with him." |
| 3:3 | Jesus replied and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." |
| 3:4 | Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" |
| 3:5 | Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." |
| 3:6 | That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." |
| 3:7 | Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You all must be born again.'" |
| 3:8 | The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." |
| 3:9 | Nicodemus replied and said to Him, "How can these things be?" |
| 3:10 | Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?" |
| 3:11 | Truly, truly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you all do not receive Our witness." |
| 3:12 | If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you of heavenly things?" |
| 3:13 | And no man has ascended up to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven." |
| 3:14 | And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up," |
| 3:15 | that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life." |
| 3:16 | Because God loved the world so much He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life." |
| 3:17 | Because, God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." |
| 3:18 | "He who believes on Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." |
| 3:19 | And this is the condemnation, that the light came into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." |
| 3:20 | Because, everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." |
| 3:21 | But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." |
| 3:22 | After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized. |
| 3:23 | Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was a lot of water there. And they came and were baptized. |
| 3:24 | Because John had not yet been thrown into prison. |
| 3:25 | Then there arose a dispute between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purification. |
| 3:26 | And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed of, look, He is baptizing, and everyone is coming to Him!" |
| 3:27 | John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. |
| 3:28 | You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but that, 'I have been sent before Him.' |
| 3:29 | He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. |
| 3:30 | He must increase, but I must decrease. |
| 3:31 | He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. |
| 3:32 | And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. |
| 3:33 | He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. |
| 3:34 | Because, He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, because God does not give the Spirit by measure to Him. |
| 3:35 | The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. |
| 3:36 | He who believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." |
