| 7:1 | After these thinges, Iesus went about in Galile: for he wolde not go aboute in Iewry because that the Iewes sought to kyll hym. |
| 7:2 | The Iewes feast of tabernacles was at hande. |
| 7:3 | Hys brethren therfore sayde vnto him: get the hence, and go into Iewry, that thy disciples also maye se thy worckes that thou doest. |
| 7:4 | For ther is no man that doeth eny thynge in secret, and he hym selfe seketh to be knowne openlye. If thou do soch thinges, shewe thy selfe to the world. |
| 7:5 | For his brethren beleued not in him. |
| 7:6 | Then Iesus sayde vnto them: My tyme is not yet come: but youre tyme is all waye ready. |
| 7:7 | The worlde cannot hate you. But me it hateth: because I testify of it, that the workes therof are euill. |
| 7:8 | Go ye vp vnto this feast, I will not go vp yet vnto this feast, for my tyme is not yet full come. |
| 7:9 | whan he had sayde these wordes vnto them he abode styll in Galile. |
| 7:10 | But as sone as his brethren were come, then went he also vp vnto the feast not openly: but as it were preuely. |
| 7:11 | Then sought him the Iewes at the feast, & sayde: where is he? |
| 7:12 | And moch murmuringe was ther of him amonge the people. For some sayde: He is good, other sayde naye, but he deceaueth the people. |
| 7:13 | How be it no man spake openly of him, for feare of the Iewes. |
| 7:14 | Now whan halfe of the feast was done, Iesus went vp into the temple, and taught. |
| 7:15 | And the Iewes marueyled, saying: How knoweth he the scriptures, seynge that he neuer learned? |
| 7:16 | Iesus answered them, & sayde: My doctryne hys not myne: but his that sent me. |
| 7:17 | If eny man wyll be obedient vnto his wyll, he shall knowe of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speake of my selfe. |
| 7:18 | He that speaketh of him selfe, seketh his awne prayse. But he that seketh hys prayse that sent him, the same is true, & no vnryghtewesnes is in him. |
| 7:19 | Dyd not Moses geue you a lawe, & yet none of you kepeth the lawe? Why go ye about to kyll me? |
| 7:20 | The people answered and sayde: thou hast the deuyll: who goeth aboute to kyll the? |
| 7:21 | Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them: I haue done one worcke, and ye all maruayle. |
| 7:22 | Moses therfore gaue vnto you the circuncisyon: not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers: And yet ye on the Saboth daye, circuncyse a man. |
| 7:23 | If a man on the Saboth daye receaue circumcysion without breakynge of the lawe of Moses: disdayne ye at me, because I haue made a man euery whit whoale on the Saboth daye? |
| 7:24 | Iudge not after the vtter aperaunce, but iudge with a ryghtewes iudgement. |
| 7:25 | Then sayde some of them of Ierusalem: is not this he, whom they go about to kyll? |
| 7:26 | But lo, he speaketh boldly, and they saye nothing to him. Do the rulers knowe in dede, that this is very Christ? |
| 7:27 | Howbeit we knowe this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is. |
| 7:28 | Then cryed Iesus in the temple (as he taught) saying: ye both knowe me, and whence I am ye knowe. And I am not come of my selfe: but he that sent me is true, whom ye knowe not. |
| 7:29 | But I knowe him for I am of him, & he hath sent me. |
| 7:30 | Then they sought to take him: but no man layde handes on him, because his houre was not yet come |
| 7:31 | Many of the people beleued on hym & sayde: when Christ commeth, will he do moo myracles then these, that this man hath done? |
| 7:32 | The Pharises hearde that the people murmured suche thinges concernyng him And the pharises and hye prestes sent ministres to take him. |
| 7:33 | Then sayde Iesus vnto them: Yet am I a lytell whyle with you, and then go I vnto him that sent me. |
| 7:34 | Ye shall seke me, and shall not fynde me: & where I am, thyther can ye not come. |
| 7:35 | Then sayde the Iewes among them selues: whither wyll he go, that we shall not fynde him? Wyll he go amonge the gentyls (whych are scattered abroade) and teach the gentyls: |
| 7:36 | What maner of saying is this that he sayd: ye shall seke me, & shall not finde me: and where I am, thyther can ye not come? |
| 7:37 | In the last daye, that great daye of the feast Iesus stode, and cryed, sayinge: If eny man thyrst, lett him come vnto me, & drincke. |
| 7:38 | He that beleueth on me (as sayeth the scripture) out of his belly shall flowe ryuers of water of lyfe. |
| 7:39 | But this spake he of the sprete, whych they that beleue on him, shulde receaue. For the holy goost was not yet there, because Iesus was not yet glorifyed. |
| 7:40 | Many of the people therfore (when they hearde this saying) sayd of a trueth this is a prophet: |
| 7:41 | but other sayde this is Christ. But some sayde: shal Christ come out of Galile: |
| 7:42 | Sayeth not the scripture, that Christ shall come of the seed of Dauid: and out of the towne of Bethleem where Dauid was? |
| 7:43 | So was ther dissencion amonge the people because of him. |
| 7:44 | And some of them wolde haue taken him but no man layed handes of him. |
| 7:45 | Then came the mynisters to the hye prestes and Pharises. And they sayed vnto them: why haue ye not brought him? |
| 7:46 | The mynisters answered: neuer man spake as this man doeth, |
| 7:47 | Then answered them the Pharises: are ye also disceaued? |
| 7:48 | Doth eny of the rulers or of the Pharises beleue on him? |
| 7:49 | But this comen people whych knowe not the lawe, are cursed, |
| 7:50 | Nicodemus sayeth vnto them (he that came to Iesus by nyght, & was one of them) |
| 7:51 | Doth oure lawe iudge eny man, before it heare him, and knowe what he hath done? |
| 7:52 | They answered, and sayd vnto him: art thou also of Galile? Search & loke, For out of Galile aryseth no Prophete. |
| 7:53 | And euery man went vnto his awne house. |
| 7:1 | And he seide this of Judas of Symount Scarioth, for this was to bitraye hym, whanne he was oon of the twelue. |
| 7:2 | Aftir these thingis Jhesus walkide in to Galilee, for he wolde not walke in to Judee, for the Jewis souyten to sle hym. |
| 7:3 | And ther was neiy a feeste dai of the Jewis, Senofegia. |
| 7:4 | And hise britheren seiden to hym, Passe fro hennus, and go in to Judee, that also thi disciplis seen thi werkis that thou doist; |
| 7:5 | for no man doith ony thing in hiddlis, and hym silf sekith to be opyn. If thou doist these thingis, schewe thi silf to the world. |
| 7:6 | For nether hise britheren bileueden in hym. |
| 7:7 | Therfor Jhesus seith to hem, My tyme cam not yit, but youre tyme is euermore redi. |
| 7:8 | The world may not hate you, sothely it hatith me; for Y bere witnessyng therof, that the werkis of it ben yuele. |
| 7:9 | Go ye vp to this feeste dai, but Y schal not go vp to this feeste dai, for my tyme is not yit fulfillid. |
| 7:10 | Whanne he hadde seid these thingis, he dwelte in Galilee. |
| 7:11 | And aftir that hise britheren weren gon vp, thanne he yede vp to the feeste dai, not opynli, but as in priuyte. |
| 7:12 | Therfor the Jewis souyten hym in the feeste dai, and seiden, Where is he? |
| 7:13 | And myche grutchyng was of hym among the puple. For summe seiden, That he is good; and othere seiden, Nai, but he disceyueth the puple; |
| 7:14 | netheles no man spak opynli of hym, for drede of the Jewis. |
| 7:15 | But whanne the myddil feeste dai cam, Jhesus wente vp in to the temple, and tauyte. |
| 7:16 | And the Jewis wondriden, and seiden, Hou can this man lettris, sithen he hath not lerned? |
| 7:17 | Jhesus answerde to hem, and seide, My doctryne is not myn, but his that sente me. |
| 7:18 | If ony man wole do his wille, he schal knowe of the techyng, whethir it be of God, or Y speke of my silf. |
| 7:19 | He that spekith of hym silf, sekith his owne glorie; but he that sekith the glorie of hym that sente hym, is sothefast, and vnriytwisnesse is not in hym. |
| 7:20 | Whether Moises yaf not to you a lawe, and noon of you doith the lawe? |
| 7:21 | What seken ye to sle me? And the puple answerde, and seide, Thou hast a deuel; who sekith to sle thee? |
| 7:22 | Jhesus answerde, and seide to hem, Y haue don o werk, and alle ye wondren. |
| 7:23 | Therfor Moises yaf to you circumcisioun; not for it is of Moyses, but of the fadris; and in the sabat ye circumciden a man. |
| 7:24 | If a man take circumcicioun in the sabat, that the lawe of Moises be not brokun, han ye indignacioun to me, for Y made al a man hool in the sabat? |
| 7:25 | Nile ye deme aftir the face, but deme ye a riytful doom. |
| 7:26 | Therfor summe of Jerusalem seiden, Whethir this is not he, whom the Jewis seken to sle? |
| 7:27 | and lo! he spekith opynli, and thei seien no thing to hym. Whether the princes knewen verili, that this is Crist? |
| 7:28 | But we knowun this man, of whennus he is; but whanne Crist schal come, no man woot of whennus he is. |
| 7:29 | Therfor Jhesus criede in the temple `techynge, and seide, Ye knowen me, and `ye knowen of whennus Y am; and Y cam not of my silf, but he is trewe that sente me, whom ye knowen not. |
| 7:30 | Y knowe hym, and if Y seie that Y knowe hym not, Y schal be lijk to you, a liere; but Y knowe hym, for of hym Y am, and he sente me. |
| 7:31 | Therfor thei souyten to take hym, and no man sette on hym hoondis, for his our cam not yit. |
| 7:32 | And many of the puple bileueden in hym, and seiden, Whanne Crist schal come, whether he schal do mo tokenes, than tho that this doith? |
| 7:33 | Farisees herden the puple musinge of hym these thingis; and the princis and Farisees senten mynystris, to take hym. |
| 7:34 | Therfor Jhesus seide to hem, Yit a litil tyme Y am with you, and Y go to the fadir, that sente me. |
| 7:35 | Ye schulen seke me, and ye schulen not fynde; and where Y am, ye may not come. |
| 7:36 | Therfor the Jewis seiden to hem silf, Whidur schal this gon, for we schulen not fynde hym? whether he wole go in to the scateryng of hethene men, and wole teche the hethene? |
| 7:37 | What is this word, which he seide, Ye schulen seke me, and ye schulen not fynde; and where Y am, ye moun not come? |
| 7:38 | But in the laste dai of the greet feeste, Jhesus stood, and criede, and seide, If ony man thirstith, come he to me, and drynke. |
| 7:39 | He that bileueth in me, as the scripture seith, Floodis of quyk watir schulen flowe fro his wombe. |
| 7:40 | But he seide this thing of the Spirit, whom men that bileueden in hym schulden take; for the Spirit was not yit youun, for Jhesus was not yit glorified. |
| 7:41 | Therfor of that cumpanye, whanne thei hadden herd these wordis of hym, thei seiden, This is verili a prophete. |
| 7:42 | Othere seiden, This is Crist. `But summe seiden, Whether Crist cometh fro Galilee? |
| 7:43 | Whether the scripture seith not, that of the seed of Dauid, and of the castel of Bethleem, where Dauid was, Crist cometh? |
| 7:44 | Therfor discencioun was maad among the puple for hym. |
| 7:45 | For summe of hem wolden haue take hym, but no man sette hondis on hym. |
| 7:46 | Therfor the mynystris camen to bischopis and Farisees, and thei seiden to hem, Whi brouyten ye not hym? |
| 7:47 | The mynystris answeriden, Neuere man spak so, as this man spekith. |
| 7:48 | Therfor the Farisees answeriden to hem, Whether ye ben disseyued also? |
| 7:49 | whether ony of the pryncis or of the Farisees bileueden in hym? |
| 7:50 | But this puple, that knowith not the lawe, ben cursid. |
| 7:51 | Nychodeme seith to hem, he that cam to hym bi nyyt, that was oon of hem, Whethir oure lawe demith a man, |
| 7:52 | but it haue first herde of hym, and knowe what he doith? |
| 7:53 | Thei answeriden, and seiden to hym, Whether thou art a man of Galilee also? Seke thou scripturis, and se thou, that a prophete risith not of Galilee. |

| 7:13 | Howbeit no man spake frely of him, for feare of the Iewes. |
| 7:14 | But in the myddes of the feast wete Iesus vp in to the temple, and taught. |
| 7:15 | And the Iewes marueyled and sayde: How can he ye scrypture, seynge he hath not lerned it? |
| 7:16 | Iesus answered them, and sayde: My doctryne is not myne, but his that hath sent me. |
| 7:17 | Yf eny man wyl do his will, he shal knowe, whether this doctryne be of God, or whether I speake of my self. |
| 7:18 | He that speaketh of himself, seketh his awne prayse: but he that seketh the prayse of him that sent him, the same is true, & there is no vnrighteousnes in him. |
| 7:19 | Hath not Moses geuen you the lawe? and none of you kepeth the lawe? Why go ye aboute to kyll me? |
| 7:20 | The people answered, and sayde: Thou hast the deuell, who goeth aboute to kyll the? |
| 7:21 | Iesus answered and sayde: One worke haue I done, and ye all maruayle. |
| 7:22 | Moses gaue you the circumcision, (not because it commeth of Moses, but of ye fathers:) Yet do ye circumcyse a man vpon the Sabbath. |
| 7:23 | Yf a man receaue circucision vpon the Sabbath, that the lawe of Moses shulde not be broken, dissdayne ye then at me, because I haue made a ma euery whyt whole on the Sabbath? |
| 7:24 | Iudge not after the vtter appearauce, but iudge righteous iudgment. |
| 7:25 | Then sayde some of them of Ierusalem: Is not this he, who they go aboute to kyll? |

| 7:37 | But in the last daye which was ye most solempne daye of the feast, Iesus stode vp, cried, and sayde: Who so thyrsteth, let him come vnto me, and drynke. |

| 7:49 | But the comon people which knowe not the lawe, are cursed. |
| 7:50 | Nicodemus sayde vnto them, he that came to him by night, which was one of them: |
| 7:51 | Doth oure lawe iudge eny man, before it heare him, and knowe what he hath done? |
| 7:52 | They answered and sayde vnto him? Art thou a Galilean also? Searche and loke, out of Galile aryseth no prophet. |
