John - Chapter: 9

>
9:1And as Iesus passed by, he saw a man which was blynde from hys byrthe.
9:2And his disciples axed hym: Mayster, who dyd synne: thys man or his father and mother: that he was borne blynd?
9:3Iesus aunswered: Neyther hath thys man synned nor yet hys father and mother: but that the workes of God shoulde be shewed on him.
9:4I must work the workes of hym that sente me, whyle it is daye. The nyghte cometh, when no man can worke.
9:5As longe as I am in the worlde, I am the lyght of the worlde.
9:6Assone as he had thus spoken; he spatte on the grounde, and made claye of the spetle, and rubbed the claye on the eyes of the blynd,
9:7and sayed vnto hym: Go, washe the in the pole of Syloe, whiche by interpretacyon, signifyeth sente. He went hys waye, and washed & came agayne, sayng:
9:8The neyghboures and they that had sene him before, how that he was a beggar, sayed: is not thys he that satte & begged.
9:9Some sayed: this is he. Other saied: he is like hym. But he hym selfe sayd: I am euen he.
9:10They sayed vnto hym: Howe are thyne eyes opened then?
9:11He aunswered and sayde. The man that is called Iesus, made claye, & anoynted myne eyes, and sayed vnto me: Go to the pole Siloe, and washe. And I wente and washed & receyued my syghte.
9:12They sayde vnto him: where is he? He sayde: I can not tell.
9:13Then brought they to the Pharises, hym that a litle before was blynde:
9:14for it was the Saboth day, when Iesus made the claye and opened hys eyes.
9:15Then agayne the Pharises also axed him, how he had receyued his sight. He sayed vnto them: He put claye vpon my eyes, and I washed and do se.
9:16Then sayd some of the Phariseis: thys man is not of God, because he kepeth not the Saboth daye. Other sayed: howe can a man that is a synner, do such miracles? And there was stryfe among them.
9:17Then spake they vnto the blynde agayne. What saiest thou of hym, because he hath opened thyne eyes? And he sayed: He is a Prophete.
9:18But the Iewes dyd not beleue on the felowe, howe that he was blynde and receyued hys sighte, vntyll they had called the father & mother of hym that had receyued his sighte.
9:19And they axed them, saiynge: Is thys youre sonne, whom ye say was borne blynde? How doth he now se then?
9:20His father and mother aunswered them, and sayed: We wote well that thys is oure sonne, & that he was borne blind,
9:21but by what meanes he now seeth, that can we not tell, or who hath opened hys eyes, can we not tell. He is olde ynoughe, axe him, let hym answere for hym self.
9:22Such wordes spake his father and mother, because they feared the Iewes. For the Iewes had conspyred al ready, that yf any man dyd confesse that he was Christe, he shoulde be excommunicate oute of the synagoge,
9:23therfore sayd hys father & mother: he is olde ynough, axe hym.
9:24Then agayne called they the man that was the blynde, & sayd vnto him: Geue God the prayse we knowe that this man is a synner.
9:25He aunswered and sayde: Whither he be a synner or no. I can not tell, one thyng I am sure of: that I was blynde, and now I se.
9:26Then sayd they to hym agayne: What dyd he to the? Howe opened he thyne eyes?
9:27He aunswered them: I tolde you per whyle, and ye dyd not heare. Wherfore woulde ye heare it agayne? wyl ye also be hys discyples?
9:28Then rated they him, & sayde: thou arte hys disciple: we be Moyses discyples.
9:29We are sure that God spake wyth Moyses, thys felowe we knowe not from whence he is.
9:30The man aunswered, and sayd vnto them: Thys is a merueylous thynge, that ye wote not whence he is, seyng he hath opened myne eyes.
9:31For we be sure that God heareth not synners. But yf any man be a worshypper of God, and do hys wyl, hym heareth he.
9:32Sence the worlde began: was it not hearde that any man opened the eies of one that was borne blynde.
9:33If thys man were not of God, he coulde haue done nothynge.
9:34They answered, and sayde vnto hym: thou arte all together borne in synne, and doest thou teach vs? And they cast hym oute.
9:35Iesus hearde, that they had excommunicat hym, he sayde vnto hym: doest thou beleue on the sonne of God?
9:36He aunswered, and sayde: Who is it Lord that I myght beleue on him?
9:37And Iesus sayde vnto hym: Thou haste sene hym, and he it is that talked with the.
9:38And he sayde: Lorde I beleue & worshypped hym.
9:39Iesus sayed: I am come vnto iudgement into this worlde, that they which se not myght se, and they which se, myght be made blynd.
9:40And some of the Pharises whiche were with him, hearde these wordes, and sayde vnto hym: are we then blynde?
9:41Iesus sayde vnto them: yf ye were blynde, ye shoulde haue no synne. But nowe ye saye: we se, therfor your synne remayneth.

9:1And as Iesus passed by, he sawe a man, which was blynde from hys byrth.
9:2And his discyples asked him sayinge: Master, who dyd synne, this man, or hys father and mother, that he was borne blynd?
9:3Iesus answered: Nether hath this man sinned, nor yet his father and mother: but that the worckes of God shulde be shewed in hym.
9:4I must, worcke the worckes of hym that sent me, whyle it is daye. The nyght commeth, when no man can worcke.
9:5As longe as I am in the worlde. I am the lyght of the worlde.
9:6Assone as he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made claye of the spetle, and rubbed the claye on the eyes of the blynde,
9:7& sayd vnto him: Go, wesshe the in the pole of Siloe, which (by interpretacion) is asmoche to saye as, sent. He went his waye therfore, and wasshed, & came agayne, seinge:
9:8So the neyghboures and they that had sene him before (how that he was a begger) said: is not this he that sat and begged?
9:9Some sayd: this is he. Agayne, other sayd he is lyke hym. He hym selfe sayde: I am euen he.
9:10Therfore sayde they vnto hym: Howe are thyne eyes opened?
9:11He answered and sayde: The man that is called Iesus, made claye, and anoynted myne eyes, and sayd vnto me: Go to the pole Siloe, and wasshe. And whan I went & wesshed, I receaued my syght.
9:12Then sayd they vnto him: where is he? He sayde: I cannot tell.
9:13They brought to the pharises, hym that a lytell before was blynde:
9:14and it was the Sabboth daye, when Iesus made the claye, and opened hys eyes.
9:15Then agayne the pharises also asked hym, howe he had receaued his syght. He sayd vnto them: he put claye vpon myne eyes, and I wasshed, and do se.
9:16Therfore sayd some of the pharises: thys man is not of God, because he kepeth not the Saboth daye. Other sayde: howe can a man that is a synner, do such myracles? And ther was a stryfe amonge them.
9:17They spake vnto the blynde man agayne: What sayst thou of him, because he hath opened thyne eyes? He sayd: He is a prophete.
9:18But the Iewes dyd not beleue of the man (how that he had bene blynde, and receaued hys syght) vntyll they called the father and mother of him that had receaued hys syght.
9:19And they asked them, saying: Is thys youre sonne, whom ye saye was borne blynde? How doth he now se then?
9:20His father and mother answered them, and sayde: we knowe, that thys is oure sonne, and that he was borne blynde:
9:21but by what meanes he nowe seeth, we cannot tell. Or who hath opened his eyes, cannot we tell He is olde ynough, aske him, let hym answere for hym selfe.
9:22Suche wordes spake hys father and mother, because they feared the Iewes. For the Iewes had conspyred all ready, that yf eny man dyd confesse that he was Christ, he shulde be excommunicat out of the synagoge.
9:23Therfore sayd hys father and mother: he is olde ynough, aske him.
9:24Then agayne called they the man that was blynde, and sayd vnto hym: Geue God the prayse: we knowe that thys man is a synner.
9:25He answered therfore, and sayde: Whyther he be a synner or no, I cannot tell. One thynge I am sure of: that where as I was blynde, nowe I se.
9:26Then sayde they to hym agayne: What dyd he to the? How opened he thyne eyes?
9:27He answered them: I tolde you yer whyle, and ye dyd not heare. Wherfore wold ye heare it agayne? Wyll ye also be his disciples?
9:28Then rated they hym, & sayd: Be thou hys disciple. We are Moses disciples.
9:29We are sure, that God spake vnto Moses. As for this felowe, we knowe not from whence he is.
9:30The man answered, and sayde vnto them: this is a maruelous thing, that ye wote not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened myne eyes.
9:31For we be sure, that God heareth not synners. But yf eny man be a worshipper of God, and obedient vnto his wyl, him heareth he.
9:32Sence the world began was it not hearde, that eny man opened the eyes of one that was borne blynde.
9:33If thys man were not of God, he coulde haue done nothing.
9:34They answered, and sayd vnto hym: thou art al together borne in synne, and dost thou teach vs? And they cast him out.
9:35Iesus heard that they had excommunicate hym: and when he had founde hym, he sayde vnto hym: doest thou beleue on the sonne of God?
9:36He answered and sayd: Who is it Lord that I myght beleue on him?
9:37And Iesus said vnto him: Thou hast sene him, and he it is that talketh with the.
9:38And he sayd: Lord, I beleue, and he worshipped hym.
9:39And Iesus sayd vnto him: I am come vnto iudgement into this worlde: that they which se not, myght se: and that they which se, might be made blynde.
9:40And some of the pharises which were with him, hearde these wordes, and sayd vnto him: are we blynde also?
9:41Iesus sayd vnto them: If ye were blynde, ye shulde haue no synne. But now ye saye: we se, therfore your synne remayneth.

9:1And as Iesus passed by, he sawe a man which was blinde from his birth.
9:2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sinne, this man, or his parents, that he was borne blinde?
9:3Iesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents, but that the workes of God should be shewed on him.
9:4I must worke the workes of him that sent me, while it is day: the night commeth when no man can worke.
9:5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
9:6Assoone as he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spettle, and anointed the eyes of the blinde with the clay,
9:7And sayd vnto him, Go wash in the poole of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came againe seeing.
9:8Nowe the neighbours and they that had seene him before, when he was blinde, sayd, Is not this he that sate and begged?
9:9Some said, This is he: and other sayd, He is like him: but he himselfe sayd, I am he.
9:10Therefore they sayd vnto him, Howe were thine eyes opened?
9:11He answered, and sayd, The man that is called Iesus, made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and sayde vnto me, Goe to the poole of Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and receiued sight.
9:12Then they sayd vnto him, Where is he? He sayd, I can not tell.
9:13They brought to the Pharises him that was once blinde.
9:14And it was the Sabbath day, when Iesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
9:15Then againe the Pharises also asked him, how he had receiued sight. And hee sayd vnto them, He layd clay vpon mine eyes, and I washed, and doe see.
9:16Then said some of the Pharises, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the Sabbath day. Others sayd, Howe can a man that is a sinner, doe such miracles? and there was a dissension among them.
9:17Then spake they vnto the blinde againe, What sayest thou of him, because he hath opened thine eyes? And he sayd, He is a Prophet.
9:18Then the Iewes did not beleeue him (that he had bene blinde, and receiued his sight) vntill they had called the parents of him that had receiued sight.
9:19And they asked them, saying, Is this your sonne, whom ye say was borne blinde? How doeth he nowe see then?
9:20His parents answered them, and sayd, We know that this is our sonne, and that he was borne blinde:
9:21But by what meanes hee nowe seeth, we know not: or who hath opened his eyes, can we not tell: he is olde ynough: aske him: hee shall answere for himselfe.
9:22These wordes spake his parents, because they feared the Iewes: for the Iewes had ordeined already, that if any man did confesse that he was Christ, he should be excommunicate out of the Synagogue.
9:23Therefore sayde his parents, Hee is olde ynough: aske him.
9:24Then againe called they the man that had bene blinde, and sayd vnto him, Giue glory vnto God: we know that this man is a sinner.
9:25Then he answered, and sayd, Whether hee be a sinner or no, I can not tell: one thing I know, that I was blinde, and nowe I see.
9:26Then sayd they to him againe, What did he to thee? howe opened he thine eyes?
9:27Hee answered them, I haue tolde you already, and yee haue not heard it: wherefore would yee heare it againe? will yee also be his disciples?
9:28Then reuiled they him, and sayd, Be thou his disciple: we be Moses disciples.
9:29We know that God spake with Moses: but this man we know not from whence he is.
9:30The man answered, and sayde vnto them, Doutlesse, this is a marueilous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
9:31Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him heareth he.
9:32Since the world began, was it not heard, that any man opened the eyes of one that was borne blinde.
9:33If this man were not of God, hee could haue done nothing.
9:34They answered, and sayd vnto him, Thou art altogether borne in sinnes, and doest thou teach vs? so they cast him out.
9:35Iesus heard that they had cast him out: and when he had found him, he sayd vnto him, Doest thou beleeue in the Sonne of God?
9:36He answered, and sayd, Who is he, Lord, that I might beleeue in him?
9:37And Iesus sayd vnto him, Both thou hast seene him, and he it is that talketh with thee.
9:38Then he sayd, Lord, I beleeue, and worshipped him.
9:39And Iesus sayd, I am come vnto iudgement into this world, that they which see not, might see: and that they which see, might be made blinde.
9:40And some of the Pharises which were with him, heard these things, and sayd vnto him, Are we blinde also?
9:41Iesus sayd vnto them, If ye were blinde, ye should not haue sinne: but nowe ye say, We see: therefore your sinne remaineth.
