9:1	Ða se hælend for; þa ge-seah he ænne man. þe wæs blind ge-boren.
9:2	& hys leorning-cnihtes hyne axoden and cwæðen. Lareow. hwæt synegede þes. Oððe his mages þæt he were blind ge-boren.
9:3	Se hælend andswerede; & cwæð. ne synegede he ne hys magas. ac þæt godes weorc wære ge-swutolod on hym.
9:4	Me ge-bereð to wercen þas weorc þe me sende þa hwile þe hyt daig ys. nyht cymð þonne nan man wyrcan ne mayg.
9:5	Ic eom middan-eardes leoht. þa hwile þe ic on middan-earde eom.
9:6	Ða he þas þing sægde. þa spette he on ða eorðen & worhte fenn of hys spatle ænd smerede mid þa fenne ofer hys eagen.
9:7	& cwæð to hym. Ga & þweag þe on syloes mere. he for & þweah hyne & com ge-sond.
9:8	Witodlice hys neah-ge-buras & þa þe hyne ge-seagen þa he weadle wæs; cwæðen. hu nys þis se. þe sæt & wædlede.
9:9	Sume cwæðen he hyt ys. Sume cwæðen nese; ac ys him ge-lich. he cwæð soðlice ic hyt eom.
9:10	Ða cwæðen hyo to hym. Hwu wæron þine eagen ge-openedo. (sic)
9:11	He andswerede & cwæð. Se mann þe ys genemned hælend worhte fen. & smerede mine eagen. & cwæð to me. gä to syloes mere ænd þweah þe. & ic eode & þwoh me. & ge-seah.
9:12	Ða cwæðon hy to hym. hwær ys he. þa cwæð he; ic nat.
9:13	Hyo læddon to þam farisean þonne þe þær blind wæs.
9:14	Hyt wæs reste-daig; þa se hælend worhte þæt fenn. & hys eagen un-tynde.
9:15	Eft þa farisei hyne axoden. hu he ge-sawe. he cwæð to heom. He dyde fenn ofer mine eagen. & ic þwoh. & ic ge-syo.
9:16	Sume þa farisei cwæðen. nis þes mann of gode; þe reste-daig ne healt. Sume cwæðon. hwu maig syn-ful mann þæs taken wercann. & hyo fliten heom be-tweon.
9:17	Hyo cwæðen eft; to þam blindan. Hwæt segst þu be þam þe þine eagen un-tynde. he cwæð. he ys wytega.
9:18	Ne ge-lyfde þa iudeas be hym. þæt he blind wære & ge-sawe; ær þam þe hy clypedon hys mæges. þe ge-sæwen
9:19	ænd axodon hyo. & cwæðon. Is þis eower sune þe ge segged þæt blind wære akenned. hu-mæte ge-sehð he nu.
9:20	Hys magas heom andsweredon & cwæðen. we witen þæt þes ys ure sunu. & þæt he wæs blind akenned.
9:21	we nyten hu-mæte he nu ge-syhð. ne hwa hys eagen un-tynde. Axiað hyne sylfne. ylde he hæfð spreke for hyne sylfne.
9:22	Hys mages spræken þas þing for-þam þe hyo on-dreddan þa iudeas. Ða ge-dihton þa iudeas gyf hwa crist andette þæt he wære buton heore ferredene.
9:23	For-þam cwæðen hys mages. he hafð ylde axioð hyne sylfe.
9:24	Ða cleopedon hyo eft þanne mann þe ær blind wæs. & cwæðon to hym. Seige godes wuldor we wyten þæt he ys synful.
9:25	& he cwæð gyf he synfull ys þæt ich nat. an þing ic wat. þæt ich blind wæs. & þæt ic nu ge-syo.
9:26	Ða cwæðen hyo to hym; hwæt dyde he þe. hu untende he þine eagen.
9:27	He andswerede heom & cwæð. Ich saigde eow ær. & gyt segge. & ge ge-hyrdon. hwy wille ge hit eft ge-heran. cweðe ge. wille ge beon hys leorning-cnihtas;
9:28	Ða wæregeden hye hyne & cwæðen. Syo þu hys leorning-cniht. we sende moyses leorning-cnihtas.
9:29	We witon þæt god spræc wið moysese. nyton we hwanon þes ys.
9:30	Se mann andswerede & cwæð to heom. þæt is wunder-lich þæt ge nyton hwanon he ys. & he untynde mine eagen.
9:31	we witon soðlice þæt god ne ge-herð synfulle. Ac gyf hwa ys gode ge-coren & hys willan wercð. þane he ge-herð.
9:32	Ne herde we næfre on worlde þæt anyg un-tynde þas eagen þe wære blind ge-boren.
9:33	Ne myhte he þas þing don gyf he nære of gode.
9:34	Hyo andsweredon ænd cwæðen to hym. Eall þu ert on sinnen ge-boren. & þu lærst üs. & hyo drifen hyne ut.
9:35	Ða se hælend ge-hyrde þæt hyo hine drifen ut. Þa cwæð he to hym. þa he hine ge-mette. Ge-lefst þu on godes sunu.
9:36	He andswerede & cwæð. Hwilc is drihten þt ich on hine ge-lyfe.
9:37	And se hælend cwæð to hym. Þu hyne seage ænd se þe wið þe spræc se hyt ys.
9:38	Þa cwæð he. drihten ic ge-lefe. & he fell nyðer. & ge-eadmedede hine.
9:39	& se hælend cwæð. to hym. Ic com on þisne midden-earde to demenne. þæt þa sculon ge-seon; þe ne seoð. & beon blinde þa þe ge-seoð.
9:40	Ða þet ge-hyrdon þa farisei þe mid hym wæron. Ða cwæðen hyo to hym. Cwæðst þu synt we blinde.
9:41	se hælend cwæð to heom. gyf ge blinde wæron nafde ge nane sinne. Nu ge seggeð þæt þæt ge ge-seon. þæt ys eowre synn.


9:1	And as Iesus passed by, he sawe a man which was blinde from his birth.
9:2	And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sinne, this man, or his parents, that he was borne blinde?
9:3	Iesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents, but that the workes of God should be shewed on him.
9:4	I must worke the workes of him that sent me, while it is day: the night commeth when no man can worke.
9:5	As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
9:6	Assoone as he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spettle, and anointed the eyes of the blinde with the clay,
9:7	And sayd vnto him, Go wash in the poole of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came againe seeing.
9:8	Nowe the neighbours and they that had seene him before, when he was blinde, sayd, Is not this he that sate and begged?
9:9	Some said, This is he: and other sayd, He is like him: but he himselfe sayd, I am he.
9:10	Therefore they sayd vnto him, Howe were thine eyes opened?
9:11	He answered, and sayd, The man that is called Iesus, made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and sayde vnto me, Goe to the poole of Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and receiued sight.
9:12	Then they sayd vnto him, Where is he? He sayd, I can not tell.
9:13	They brought to the Pharises him that was once blinde.
9:14	And it was the Sabbath day, when Iesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
9:15	Then againe the Pharises also asked him, how he had receiued sight. And hee sayd vnto them, He layd clay vpon mine eyes, and I washed, and doe see.
9:16	Then said some of the Pharises, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the Sabbath day. Others sayd, Howe can a man that is a sinner, doe such miracles? and there was a dissension among them.
9:17	Then spake they vnto the blinde againe, What sayest thou of him, because he hath opened thine eyes? And he sayd, He is a Prophet.
9:18	Then the Iewes did not beleeue him (that he had bene blinde, and receiued his sight) vntill they had called the parents of him that had receiued sight.
9:19	And they asked them, saying, Is this your sonne, whom ye say was borne blinde? How doeth he nowe see then?
9:20	His parents answered them, and sayd, We know that this is our sonne, and that he was borne blinde:
9:21	But by what meanes hee nowe seeth, we know not: or who hath opened his eyes, can we not tell: he is olde ynough: aske him: hee shall answere for himselfe.
9:22	These wordes spake his parents, because they feared the Iewes: for the Iewes had ordeined already, that if any man did confesse that he was Christ, he should be excommunicate out of the Synagogue.
9:23	Therefore sayde his parents, Hee is olde ynough: aske him.
9:24	Then againe called they the man that had bene blinde, and sayd vnto him, Giue glory vnto God: we know that this man is a sinner.
9:25	Then he answered, and sayd, Whether hee be a sinner or no, I can not tell: one thing I know, that I was blinde, and nowe I see.
9:26	Then sayd they to him againe, What did he to thee? howe opened he thine eyes?
9:27	Hee answered them, I haue tolde you already, and yee haue not heard it: wherefore would yee heare it againe? will yee also be his disciples?
9:28	Then reuiled they him, and sayd, Be thou his disciple: we be Moses disciples.
9:29	We know that God spake with Moses: but this man we know not from whence he is.
9:30	The man answered, and sayde vnto them, Doutlesse, this is a marueilous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
9:31	Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him heareth he.
9:32	Since the world began, was it not heard, that any man opened the eyes of one that was borne blinde.
9:33	If this man were not of God, hee could haue done nothing.
9:34	They answered, and sayd vnto him, Thou art altogether borne in sinnes, and doest thou teach vs? so they cast him out.
9:35	Iesus heard that they had cast him out: and when he had found him, he sayd vnto him, Doest thou beleeue in the Sonne of God?
9:36	He answered, and sayd, Who is he, Lord, that I might beleeue in him?
9:37	And Iesus sayd vnto him, Both thou hast seene him, and he it is that talketh with thee.
9:38	Then he sayd, Lord, I beleeue, and worshipped him.
9:39	And Iesus sayd, I am come vnto iudgement into this world, that they which see not, might see: and that they which see, might be made blinde.
9:40	And some of the Pharises which were with him, heard these things, and sayd vnto him, Are we blinde also?
9:41	Iesus sayd vnto them, If ye were blinde, ye should not haue sinne: but nowe ye say, We see: therefore your sinne remaineth.


9:1	And as Iesus passed by he sawe a man which was blynde from his birth.
9:2	And his disciples axed him sayinge. Master who dyd synne: this man or his father and mother that he was borne blynde?
9:3	Iesus answered: Nether hath this man synned nor yet his father and mother: but that the workes of God shuld be shewed on him.
9:4	I must worke the workes of him that sent me whyll it is daye. The nyght cometh when no man can worke.
9:5	As longe as I am in the worlde I am the lyght of the worlde.
9:6	Assone as he had thus spoken he spate on the grounde and made claye of the spetle and rubbed the claye on the eyes of the blynde
9:7	and sayde vnto him: Goo wesshe the in ye pole of Syloe which by interpretacion signifieth sent. He went his waye and wasshed and cam agayne seinge.
9:8	The neghboures and they that had sene him before how that he was a begger sayde: is not this he that sate and begged?
9:9	Some sayde: this is he. Other sayd: he is lyke him. But he him selfe sayde: I am even he.
9:10	They sayde vnto him: How are thyne eyes opened then?
9:11	He answered and sayde. The ma that is called Iesus made claye and anoynted myne eyes and sayd vnto me: Goo to the pole Syloe and wesshe. I went and wesshed and receaved my syght.
9:12	They sayde vnto him: where is he? He sayde: I cannot tell.
9:13	Then brought they to ye pharises him that a lytell before was blynde:
9:14	for it was the Saboth daye when Iesus made the claye and opened his eyes.
9:15	Then agayne the pharises also axed him how he had receaved his syght. He sayde vnto the: He put claye apon myne eyes and I wasshed and do se.
9:16	Then sayde some of the pharises: this man is not of God because he kepeth not the saboth daye. Other sayde: how can a man yt is a synner do suche myracles? And ther was stryfe amonge the.
9:17	Then spake they vnto the blynde agayne: What sayst thou of him because he hath openned thyne eyes? And he sayd: He is a Prophet.
9:18	But the Iewes dyd not beleve of the felowe how that he was blynde and receaved his syght vntyll they had called the father and mother of him that had receaved his syght.
9:19	And they axed the saying: Is this youre sonne whome ye saye was borne blynde? How doth he now se then?
9:20	His father and mother answered them and sayde: we wote well that this is oure sonne and that he was borne blynde:
9:21	but by what meanes he now seith that can we not tell or who hath opened his eyes can we not tell. He is olde ynough axe him let him answer for him selfe.
9:22	Suche wordes spake his father and mother because they feared the Iewes. For the Iewes had conspyred all redy that yf eny man dyd confesse that he was Christ he shuld be excommunicat out of the synagoge.
9:23	Therefore sayde his father and mother: he is olde ynough axe him.
9:24	Then agayne called they the man that was blynde and sayd vnto him: Geve God the prayse: we knowe that this man is a synner.
9:25	He answered and sayde: Whyther he be a synner or noo I cannot tell: One thinge I am sure of that I was blynde and now I se.
9:26	Then sayde they to him agayne. What dyd he to the? How opened he thyne eyes?
9:27	He answered them I tolde you yerwhyle and ye dyd not heare. Wherfore wolde ye heare it agayne? Will ye also be his disciples?
9:28	Then rated they him and sayde: Thou arte his disciple. We be Moses disciples.
9:29	We are sure that God spake with Moses. This felowe we knowe not from whence he is.
9:30	The man answered and sayde vnto them: this is a merveleous thinge that ye wote not whence he is seinge he hath opened myne eyes.
9:31	For we be sure that God heareth not synners. But yf eny man be a worshipper of God and do his will him heareth he.
9:32	Sence ye worlde beganne was it not hearde yt eny man opened the eyes of one that was borne blynd.
9:33	If this man were not of God he coulde have done no thinge.
9:34	They answered and sayd vnto him: thou arte altogeder borne in synne: and dost thou teache vs? And they cast him out.
9:35	Iesus hearde that they had excommunicate him: and assone as he had founde him he sayd vnto him: doest thou beleve on the sonne of God?
9:36	He answered and sayde: Who is it Lorde that I myght beleve on him?
9:37	And Iesus sayde vnto him: Thou hast sene him and he it is that talketh with the.
9:38	And he sayde: Lorde I beleve: and worshipped him.
9:39	Iesus sayde: I am come vnto iudgement into this worlde: that they which se not myght se and they which se myght be made blynde.
9:40	And some of the pharises which were with him hearde these wordes and sayde vnto him: are we then blynde?
9:41	Iesus sayde vnto them: yf ye were blynde ye shuld have no synne. But now ye saye we se therfore youre synne remayneth.
