13:2And whanne the souper was maad, whanne the deuel hadde put than in to the herte, that Judas of Symount Scarioth schulde bitraye hym,
13:3he witynge that the fadir yaf alle thingis to hym in to hise hoondis, and that he wente out fro God,
13:4and goith to God, he risith fro the souper, and doith of hise clothis; and whanne he hadde takun a lynun cloth, he girde hym.
13:5And aftirward he putte watir in to a basyn, and biganne to waische the disciplis feet, and to wipe with the lynnen cloth, with which he was gird.
13:6And so he cam to Symount Petre, and Petre seith to hym, Lord, waischist thou my feet?
13:7Jhesus answerde, and seide to hym, What Y do, thou wost not now; but thou schalt wite aftirward.
13:8Petre seith to hym, Thou schalt neuere waische my feet. Jhesus answeride to hym, If Y schal not waische thee, thou schalt not haue part with me.
13:9Symount Petre seith to hym, Lord, not oneli my feet, but bothe the hoondis and the heed.
13:10Jhesus seide to hym, He that is waischun, hath no nede but that he waische the feet, but he is al clene; and ye ben clene, but not alle.
13:11For he wiste, who `was he that schulde bitraye hym; therfor he seide, Ye ben not alle clene.
13:12And so aftir that he hadde waischun `the feet of hem, he took hise clothis; and whanne he was set to mete ayen, eft he seide to hem, Ye witen what Y haue don to you.
13:13Ye clepen me maistir and lord, and ye seien wel; for Y am.
13:14Therfor if Y, lord and maistir, haue waischun youre feet, and ye schulen waische oon anothers feet;
13:15for Y haue youun `ensaumple to you, `that as I haue do to you, so do ye.
13:16Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, the seruaunt is not grettere than his lord, nether an apostle is grettere than he that sente hym.
13:17If ye witen these thingis, ye schulen be blessid, if ye doen hem.
13:18Y seie not of `alle you, Y woot whiche Y haue chosun; but that the scripture be fulfillid, He that etith my breed, schal reise his heele ayens me.
13:19Treuly, Y seie to you bifor it be don, that whanne it is don, ye bileue that Y am.
13:20Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, he that takith whom euere Y schal sende, resseyueth me; and he that resseyueth me, resseyueth hym that sente me.
13:21Whanne Jhesus hadde seid these thingis, he was troblid in spirit, and witnesside, and seide, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, that oon of you schal bitraye me.
13:22Therfor the disciplis lokiden togidere, doutynge of whom he seide.
13:23And so oon of hise disciplis was restynge in the bosum of Jhesu, whom Jhesu louede.
13:24Therfor Symount Petre bikeneth to hym, `and seith to hym, Who is it, of whom he seith?
13:25And so whanne he hadde restid ayen on the brest of Jhesu, he seith to hym, Lord, who is it?
13:26Jhesus answerde, He it is, to whom Y schal areche a sop of breed. And whanne he hadde wet breed, he yaf to Judas of Symount Scarioth.
13:27And aftir the mussel, thanne Sathanas entride in to hym. And Jhesus seith to hym, That thing that thou doist, do thou swithe.
13:28And noon of hem that saten at the mete wiste, wherto he seide to hym.
13:29For summe gessiden, for Judas hadde pursis, that Jhesus hadde seid to hym, Bie thou tho thingis, that ben nedeful to vs to the feeste dai, or that he schulde yyue sum thing to nedi men.
13:30Therfor whanne he hadde takun the mussel, he wente out anoon; and it was nyyt.
13:31And whanne he was gon out, Jhesus seide, Now mannus sone is clarified, and God is clarified in hym.
13:32If God is clarified in hym, God schal clarifie hym in hym silf, and anoon he schal clarifie hym.
13:33Litle sones, yit a litil Y am with you; ye schulen seke me, and, as Y seide to the Jewis, Whidur Y go, ye moun not come; and to you Y seie now.
13:34Y yyue to you a newe maundement, that ye loue togidir, as Y louede you, `and that ye loue togidir.
13:35In this thing alle men schulen knowe, that ye ben my disciplis, if ye han loue togidere.
13:36Symount Petre seith to hym, Lord, whidur goist thou? Jhesus answeride, Whidur Y go, thou mayst not sue me now, but thou schalt sue afterward.
13:37Petre seith to hym, Whi may Y not sue thee now? Y schal putte my lijf for thee.
13:38Jhesus answeride, Thou schalt putte thi lijf for me? Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, the cok schal not crowe, til thou schalt denye me thries. And he seith to hise disciplis.

13:1Nowe before the feast of the Passeouer, when Iesus knewe that his houre was come, that he should depart out of this world vnto the Father, forasmuch as he loued his owne which were in the world, vnto the end he loued them.
13:2And when supper was done (and that the deuill had now put in the heart of Iudas Iscariot, Simons sonne, to betray him)
13:3Iesus knowing that the Father had giuen all things into his hands, and that he was come forth from God, and went to God,
13:4He riseth from supper, and layeth aside his vpper garments, and tooke a towel, and girded himselfe.
13:5After that, hee powred water into a basen, and began to wash the disciples feete, and to wipe them with the towell, wherewith he was girded.
13:6Then came he to Simon Peter, who sayd to him, Lord, doest thou wash my feete?
13:7Iesus answered and sayd vnto him, What I doe, thou knowest not nowe: but thou shalt knowe it hereafter.
13:8Peter said vnto him, Thou shalt neuer wash my feete. Iesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou shalt haue no part with me.
13:9Simon Peter sayd vnto him, Lord, not my feete onely, but also the hands and the head.
13:10Iesus sayd to him, He that is washed, needeth not, saue to wash his feete, but is cleane euery whit: and ye are cleane, but not all.
13:11For hee knewe who should betray him: therefore sayd he, Ye are not all cleane.
13:12So after he had washed their feete, and had taken his garments, and was set downe againe, he sayd vnto them, Knowe ye what I haue done to you?
13:13Ye call me Master, and Lord, and ye say well: for so am I.
13:14If I then your Lord, and Master, haue washed your feete, ye also ought to wash one an others feete.
13:15For I haue giuen you an example, that ye should doe, euen as I haue done to you.
13:16Verely, verely I say vnto you, The seruant is not greater then his master, neither the ambassadour greater then he that sent him.
13:17If ye know these things, blessed are ye, if ye doe them.
13:18I speake not of you all: I know whom I haue chosen: but it is that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lift vp his heele against me.
13:19From henceforth tell I you before it come, that when it is come to passe, ye might beleeue that I am he.
13:20Verely, verely I say vnto you, If I send any, he that receiueth him, receiueth me, and hee that receiueth me, receiueth him that sent me.
13:21When Iesus had sayd these things, he was troubled in the Spirit, and testified, and said, Verely, verely I say vnto you, that one of you shall betray me.
13:22Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
13:23Nowe there was one of his disciples, which leaned on Iesus bosome, whom Iesus loued.
13:24To him beckened therefore Simon Peter, that he should aske who it was of whom he spake.
13:25He then, as he leaned on Iesus breast, saide vnto him, Lord, who is it?
13:26Iesus answered, He it is, to whome I shall giue a soppe, when I haue dipt it: and hee wet a soppe, and gaue it to Iudas Iscariot, Simons sonne.
13:27And after the soppe, Satan entred into him. Then sayd Iesus vnto him, That thou doest, doe quickly.
13:28But none of them that were at table, knew, for what cause he spake it vnto him.
13:29For some of them thought because Iudas had the bag, that Iesus had sayd vnto him, Buy those things that we haue neede of against ye feast: or that he should giue some thing to the poore.
13:30Assoone then as he had receiued the soppe, he went immediately out, and it was night.
13:31When hee was gone out, Iesus sayd, Nowe is the Sonne of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
13:32If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorifie him in himselfe, and shall straightway glorifie him.
13:33Litle children, yet a litle while am I with you: ye shall seeke me, but as I sayde vnto the Iewes, Whither I goe, can ye not come: also to you say I nowe,
13:34A newe commandement giue I vnto you, that ye loue one another: as I haue loued you, that ye also loue one another.
13:35By this shall all men knowe that ye are my disciples, if ye haue loue one to another.
13:36Simon Peter said vnto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Iesus answered him, Whither I goe, thou canst not follow me nowe: but thou shalt follow me afterward.
13:37Peter sayd vnto him, Lord, why can I not follow thee now? I will lay downe my life for thy sake.
13:38Iesus answered him, Wilt thou lay downe thy life for my sake? Verely, verely I say vnto thee, The cocke shall not crowe, till thou haue denied me thrise.

13:1Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
13:2And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him,
13:3Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,
13:4He rose from supper and laid aside His clothes, took a towel and tied it around his waist.
13:5After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He wrapped around Himself.
13:6Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, "Lord, are You washing my feet?"
13:7Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this."
13:8Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet!" Jesus replied to him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me."
13:9Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!"
13:10Jesus said to him, "He who is washed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you."
13:11Because, He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, "You are not all clean."
13:12So when He had washed their feet, taken His clothes, and sat down again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you?"
13:13You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, because so I am."
13:14If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet."
13:15Because, I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you."
13:16Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him."
13:17If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them."
13:18"I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, 'He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.'"
13:19Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am He."
13:20Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me."
13:21When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me."
13:22Then the disciples looked at one another, dubious about whom He spoke.
13:23Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.
13:24Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke.
13:25Then, leaning back on Jesus' breast, he said to Him, "Lord, who is it?"
13:26Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I will give a piece of bread when I have dipped it." And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
13:27Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly."
13:28But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him.
13:29Because, some of them thought, because Judas had the money bag, that Jesus had said to him, "Buy those things we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor.
13:30Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night.
13:31So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him."
13:32If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately."
13:33Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, 'Where I am going, you cannot come,' so now I say to you."
13:34A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."
13:35By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
13:36Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, where are You going?" Jesus answered him, "Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you will follow Me afterward."
13:37Peter said to Him, "Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake."
13:38Jesus answered him, "Will you lay down your life for My sake? Truly, truly, I say to you, the rooster will not crow until you have denied Me three times."
