14:8 | Philippus quoth to him. Drihtan atew us þane fæder. & we hæbbeð ge-noh. |
14:9 | Se hælend cwæð to him. Philippus swa lange tid ic wæs mid eow & ge ne cneowan me. Se þe me ge-sihð; ge-sihð minne fæder. Hu-mæte cwæðst þu. atew us þinne fæder. |
14:10 | ne ge-lefst þu þæt ic eom on fæder. & fader is on me; þa word þe ic to eow spræke; ne sprece ic hy of me sylfe. Se fader þe wuneð on me; he wercð þa werc. |
14:11 | Ne ge-lefe ge þæt ic eom on fæder. & fæder is on me. ge-lefð for þam weorcan. |
14:12 | Soð ic eow segge. se þe ge-lyfð on me. he wercð þa weorcð (sic) þe ic werce. & he wercð maran þanne þa synd. for-þam þe ic fære to þam fæder. |
14:13 | & ic do swa hwæt swa ge byddað on minen namen. þæt se fader syo ge-wuldrod on þam sunu. |
14:14 | Gif ge hwæt me biddað on minan naman þt ic do. |
14:15 | Note: Si diligitis me mandata mea seruate. & ego rogabo patrem & alium paraclitum dabo uobis. Gyf ge me lufiað; healdod min be-bode |
14:16 | & ic bidde fæder. & he sylð eow oðerne frefiend þæt beo æfre mid eow. |
14:17 | Soðfæstnysse gast þe þes middeneard ne maig under-fon. He ne can hine for-þan þe he ne gesihð hine. Ge hine cunnen for-þan þe he wuneð mid eow. & beoð on eow. |
14:18 | Ne læte ic eow stepchild. ic cume to eow. |
14:19 | Nu gyt is an litel fyrst. & midden-eard me ne ge-sihð. Ge me seoð. forþam ic libbe. & ge libbað. |
14:20 | On þam daige ge ge-cnaweð þæt ic eom on minen fæder & ge synd on me & ic on eow. |
14:21 | Se þe hafð mine be-bode & hylst þa. he ys þe me lufað. Min fæder lufed þane þe me lufað. & ic lufige hyne & ge-swutelige him me selfe. |
14:22 | Iudas cwæð to hym. næs na se scarioth. Drihtan hwæt is ge-worðan þæt þu wilt þe selfne ge-swutelian us. & nä midden-earde. |
14:23 | Se halend andswerede. & cwæð to him. Note: Si quis diligit me sermonem meum seruabit. Gyf hwa me lufad. he healt mine spraece. & min fæder lufað hine. & we cumeð to hym. & we weorceð earding-stowe mid him. |
14:24 | Se þe me ne lufað. ne healt mine spræce. & nis hit min spræce þæt ge ge-hyrdon. ac þas fæder þe me sende. |
14:25 | Þas þing ic eow sægde þa ich mid eow wunede. |
14:26 | Se halge frofre gast þe se fæder sent on minan naman eow lærð ealle þing. & he lærð eow ealle þa þing. þe ic eow segge. |
14:27 | Ic læfe eow sibbe. ic sylle eow mine sibbe. Ne sylle ic eow sibbe swa middan-earð sylð. Ne seo eower heorte ge-drefed. ne ne fortige ge. |
14:28 | Ge ge-hyrdan þæt ic eow sægde. ic ga. & ic cume to eow. Witodlice gif ge me lufedon ge ge-blissedon. for-þan þe ic fare to þam fæder. for-þan se fæder is mare þanne ic. |
14:29 | Ænd ich eow sægde. ær-þam þe hit wurðe. þæt ge ge-lyfon þanne hit ge-worðan byð. |
14:30 | Ne spræce ic nu ma fela wið eow. Ðises middan-eardes ealdor cymð & he næfð nan þing on me. |
14:31 | Ac þæt se midden-eard on-cnawe þæt ic lufie þanne fæder. & ic do swa se fæder me be-bead. Arisað uten gan heonon. |
14:1 | Let not your heart be troubled: ye beleeue in God, beleeue also in me. |
14:2 | In my Fathers house are many dwelling places: if it were not so, I would haue tolde you: I go to prepare a place for you. |
14:3 | And if I go to prepare a place for you, I wil come againe, and receiue you vnto my selfe, that where I am, there may ye be also. |
14:4 | And whither I go, ye know, and the way ye knowe. |
14:5 | Thomas sayd vnto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest: how can we then know ye way? |
14:6 | Iesus sayd vnto him, I am that Way, and that Trueth, and that Life. No man commeth vnto the Father, but by me. |
14:7 | If ye had knowen mee, ye should haue knowen my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and haue seene him. |
14:8 | Philippe sayd vnto him, Lord, shewe vs thy Father, and it sufficeth vs. |
14:9 | Iesus sayd vnto him, I haue bene so long time with you, and hast thou not knowen mee, Philippe? he that hath seene me, hath seene my Father: how then sayest thou, Shewe vs thy Father? |
14:10 | Beleeuest thou not, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The wordes that I speake vnto you, I speake not of my selfe: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the workes. |
14:11 | Beleeue me, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me: at the least, beleeue me for the very workes sake. |
14:12 | Verely, verely I say vnto you, he that beleeueth in me, the workes that I doe, hee shall doe also, and greater then these shall he doe: for I goe vnto my Father. |
14:13 | And whatsoeuer ye aske in my Name, that will I doe, that the Father may be glorified in the Sonne. |
14:14 | If ye shall aske any thing in my Name, I will doe it. |
14:15 | If ye loue me, keepe my comandements, |
14:16 | And I wil pray the Father, and he shall giue you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for euer, |
14:17 | Euen the Spirit of trueth, whome the world can not receiue, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye knowe him: for he dwelleth with you, and shalbe in you. |
14:18 | I will not leaue you fatherles: but I will come to you. |
14:19 | Yet a litle while, and the world shall see me no more, but ye shall see me: because I liue, ye shall liue also. |
14:20 | At that day shall ye knowe that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. |
14:21 | He that hath my commandements, and keepeth them, is he that loueth me: and he that loueth me, shall be loued of my Father: and I will loue him, and wil shewe mine owne selfe to him. |
14:22 | Iudas sayd vnto him (not Iscariot) Lord, what is the cause that thou wilt shewe thy selfe vnto vs, and not vnto the world? |
14:23 | Iesus answered, and sayd vnto him, If any man loue me, he will keepe my worde, and my Father will loue him, and we wil come vnto him, and wil dwell with him. |
14:24 | He that loueth me not, keepeth not my wordes, and the worde which ye heare, is not mine, but the Fathers which sent me. |
14:25 | These things haue I spoken vnto you, being present with you. |
14:26 | But the Comforter, which is the holy Ghost, whom the Father wil send in my Name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, which I haue tolde you. |
14:27 | Peace I leaue with you: my peace I giue vnto you: not as the worlde giueth, giue I vnto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor feare. |
14:28 | Ye haue heard howe I saide vnto you, I goe away, and will come vnto you. If ye loued me, ye would verely reioyce, because I said, I goe vnto the Father: for the Father is greater then I. |
14:29 | And nowe haue I spoken vnto you, before it come, that when it is come to passe, ye might beleeue. |
14:30 | Hereafter will I not speake many things vnto you: for the prince of this world commeth, and hath nought in me. |
14:31 | But it is that the world may knowe that I loue my Father: and as the Father hath commanded me, so I doe. Arise, let vs goe hence. |
14:1 | And he sayd vnto his disciples: Let not youre hertes be troubled. Beleve in god and beleve in me. |
14:2 | In my fathers housse are many mansions. If it were not so I wolde have tolde you. I go to prepare a place for you. |
14:3 | And yf I go to prepare a place for you I will come agayne and receave you eve vnto my selfe yt where I am there maye ye be also. |
14:4 | And whither I go ye knowe and ye waye ye knowe. |
14:5 | Thomas sayde vnto him: Lorde we knowe not whyther thou goest. Also how is it possible for vs to knowe the waye? |
14:6 | Iesus sayd vnto him: I am ye waye ye truthe and ye life. And no man cometh vnto the father but by me. |
14:7 | Yf ye had knowe me ye had knowe my father also. And now ye knowe him and have sene him. |
14:8 | Philip sayd vnto him: Lorde shew vs the father and it suffiseth vs. |
14:9 | Iesus sayde vnto him: have I bene so longe tyme wt you: and yet hast thou not knowen me? Philip he yt hath sene me hath sene ye father. And how sayest thou then: shew vs the father? |
14:10 | Belevest thou not that I am in ye father and the father in me? The wordes that I speake vnto you I speakee not of my selfe: but ye father that dwelleth in me is he that doeth ye workes. |
14:11 | Beleve me that I am the father and ye father in me. At the leest beleve me for the very workes sake. |
14:12 | Verely verely I saye vnto you: he that beleveth on me the workes that I doo the same shall he do and greater workes then these shall he do because I go vnto my father. |
14:13 | And what soever ye axe in my name yt will I do yt the father might be glorified by the sonne. |
14:14 | Yf ye shall axe eny thige in my name I will do it |
14:15 | If ye love me kepe my comaundementes |
14:16 | and I will praye the father and he shall geve you a nother comforter yt he maye byde with you ever |
14:17 | which is the sprete of truthe whome the worlde canot receave because the worlde seyth him not nether knoweth him. But ye knowe him. For he dwelleth with you and shalbe in you. |
14:18 | I will not leave you comfortlesse: but will come vnto you. |
14:19 | Yet a litell whyle and the worlde seith me no moare: but ye shall se me. For I live and ye shall live. |
14:20 | That daye shall ye knowe that I am in my father and you in me and I in you |
14:21 | He that hath my comaundemetes and kepeth them the same is he that loveth me. And he yt loveth me shall be loved of my father: and I will love him and will shewe myne awne selfe vnto him. |
14:22 | Iudas sayde vnto him (not Iudas Iscarioth) Lorde what is the cause that thou wilt shewe thy selfe vnto vs and not vnto the worlde? |
14:23 | Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: yf a man love me and wyll kepe my sayinges my father also will love him and we will come vnto him and will dwelle with him. |
14:24 | He that loveth me not kepeth not my sayinges. And the wordes which ye heare are not myne but the fathers which sent me. |
14:25 | This have I spoken vnto you beynge yet present with you. |
14:26 | But that coforter which is the holy gost (whom my father will sende in my name) he shall teache you all thinges and bringe all thinges to youre remembraunce whatsoever I have tolde you. |
14:27 | Peace I leve with you my peace I geve vnto you. Not as the worlde geveth geve I vnto you. Let not youre hertes be greved nether feare ye. |
14:28 | Ye have hearde how I sayde vnto you: I go and come agayne vnto you. If ye loved me ye wolde verely reioyce because I sayde I go vnto ye father. For ye father is greater then I |
14:29 | And now have I shewed you before it come yt whe it is come to passe ye might beleve. |
14:30 | Here after will I not talke many mordes vnto you. For the rular of this worlde commeth and hath nought in me. |
14:31 | But that the worlde maye knowe that I love the father: therfore as the father gave me comaundment even so do I. Ryse let vs go hence. |
