16:1These thinges haue I saide vnto you, that ye should not be offended.
16:2They shall excommunicate you: yea, the time shall come, that whosoeuer killeth you, will thinke that he doeth God seruice.
16:3And these things will they doe vnto you, because they haue not knowen ye Father, nor me.
16:4But these things haue I tolde you, that when the houre shall come, ye might remember, that I tolde you them. And these things said I not vnto you from ye beginning, because I was with you.
16:5But now I go my way to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
16:6But because I haue saide these thinges vnto you, your hearts are full of sorowe.
16:7Yet I tell you the trueth, It is expedient for you that I goe away: for if I goe not away, that Comforter will not come vnto you: but if I depart, I will send him vnto you.
16:8And when he is come, he will reproue the worlde of sinne, and of righteousnesse, and of iudgement.
16:9Of sinne, because they beleeued not in me:
16:10Of righteousnesse, because I goe to my Father, and ye shall see me no more:
16:11Of iudgement, because the prince of this world is iudged.
16:12I haue yet many things to say vnto you, but ye cannot beare them nowe.
16:13Howbeit, when he is come which is the Spirit of trueth, he will leade you into all trueth: for he shall not speake of himselfe, but whatsoeuer he shall heare, shall he speake, and he will shew you the things to come.
16:14He shall glorifie me: for he shall receiue of mine, and shall shewe it vnto you.
16:15All thinges that the Father hath, are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shewe it vnto you.
16:16A litle while, and ye shall not see me: and againe a litle while, and ye shall see me: for I goe to the Father.
16:17Then said some of his disciples among them selues, What is this that he saieth vnto vs, A litle while, and ye shall not see me, and againe, a litle while, and ye shall see me, and, For I goe to the Father.
16:18They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A litle while? we know not what he sayeth.
16:19Now Iesus knew that they would aske him, and said vnto them, Doe ye enquire among your selues, of that I said, A litle while, and ye shall not see me: and againe, a litle while, and yee shall see me?
16:20Verely, verely I say vnto you, that ye shall weepe and lament, and the worlde shall reioyce: and ye shall sorowe, but your sorowe shalbe turned to ioye.
16:21A woman when she traueileth, hath sorowe, because her houre is come: but assoone as she is deliuered of the childe, she remembreth no more the anguish, for ioy that a man is borne into the world.
16:22And ye nowe therefore are in sorowe: but I will see you againe, and your hearts shall reioyce, and your ioy shall no man take from you.
16:23And in that day shall ye aske me nothing. Verely, verely I say vnto you, whatsoeuer ye shall aske the Father in my Name, he will giue it you.
16:24Hitherto haue ye asked nothing in my Name: aske, and ye shall receiue, that your ioye may be full.
16:25These things haue I spoken vnto you in parables: but the time will come, when I shall no more speake to you in parables: but I shall shew you plainely of the Father.
16:26At that day shall ye aske in my Name, and I say not vnto you, that I will pray vnto the Father for you:
16:27For the Father himselfe loueth you, because ye haue loued me, and haue beleeued that I came out from God.
16:28I am come out from the Father, and came into the worlde: againe I leaue the worlde, and goe to the Father.
16:29His disciples saide vnto him, Loe, nowe speakest thou plainely, and thou speakest no parable.
16:30Nowe knowe wee that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should aske thee. By this we beleeue, that thou art come out from God.
16:31Iesus answered them, Doe you beleeue nowe?
16:32Beholde, the houre commeth, and is already come, that ye shalbe scattered euery man into his owne, and shall leaue me alone: but I am not alone: for the Father is with me.
16:33These thinges haue I spoken vnto you, that in me ye might haue peace: in the world ye shall haue affliction, but be of good comfort: I haue ouercome the world.

16:1These thinges have I sayde vnto you because ye shuld not be offended.
16:2They shall excomunicat you: ye ye tyme shall come that whosoever killeth you will thinke that he doth God service.
16:3And suche thinges will they do vnto you because they have not knowen the father nether yet me.
16:4But these thinges have I tolde you that when that houre is come ye myght remember them that I tolde you so. These thinges sayde I not unto you at the begynninge because I was present with you.
16:5But now I goo my waye to him that sent me and none of you axeth me: whither goest thou?
16:6But because I have sayde suche thinges vnto you youre hertes are full of sorowe.
16:7Neverthelesse I tell you the trueth it is expedient for you that I goo awaye. For yf I goo not awaye that comforter will not come vnto you. But yf I departe I will sende him vnto you.
16:8And when he is come he will rebuke ye worlde of synne and of rightwesnes and of iudgement.
16:9Of synne because they beleve not on me:
16:10Of rightwesnes because I go to my father and ye shall se me no moare:
16:11and of iudgement because the chefe ruler of this worlde is iudged all ready.
16:12I have yet many thinges to saye vnto you: but ye canot beare them awaye now.
16:13How be it when he is come (I meane the sprete of truthe) he will leade yon into all trueth. He shall not speake of him selfe: but whatsoever he shall heare that shall he speake and he will shewe you thinges to come.
16:14He shall glorify me for he shall receave of myne and shall shewe vnto you.
16:15All thinges that ye father hath aremyne. Therfore sayd I vnto you that he shall take of myne and shewe vnto you.
16:16After a whyle ye shall not se me and agayne after a whyle ye shall se me: For I goo to the father.
16:17Then sayd some of his disciples bitwene them selves: what is this yt he sayth vnto vs after a whyle ye shall not se me and agayne after a whyle ye shall se me: and that I go to the father.
16:18They sayd therfore: what is this that he sayth after a whyle? we canot tell what he sayth.
16:19Iesus perceaved yt they wolde axe him and sayd vnto them: This is it that ye enquyre of bitwene youre selves that I sayd after a whyle ye shall not se me and agayne after a whyle ye shall se me.
16:20Verely verely I saye vnto you: ye shall wepe and lamet and the worlde shall reioyce. Ye shall sorowe: but youre sorowe shalbe tourned to ioye.
16:21A woman when she traveyleth hath sorowe because her houre is come: but assone as she is delivered of the chylde she remembreth no moare the anguysshe for ioye that a man is borne in to the worlde
16:22And ye now are in sorowe: but I will se you agayne and youre hertes shall reioyce and youre ioye shall no ma take fro you.
16:23And in that daye shall ye axe me no question. Verely verely I saye vnto you whatsoever ye shall axe the father in my name he will geve it you
16:24Hitherto have ye axed nothinge in my name. Axe and ye shall receave it: that youre ioye maye be full.
16:25 These thinges have I spoken vnto you in proverbes. The tyme will come when I shall no moare speake to you in proverbes: but I shall shewe you playnly from my father.
16:26At that daye shall ye axe in myne name. And I saye not vnto you that I will speake vnto my father for you
16:27For ye father him selfe loveth you because ye have loved me and have beleved that I came out from God.
16:28I went out from the father and came into the worlde: and I leve the worlde agayne and go to ye father.
16:29His disciples sayd vnto him: loo now speakest thou playnly and thou vsest no proverbe.
16:30Nowe knowe we that thou vnderstondest all thinges and nedest not yt eny man shuld axe the eny question. Therfore beleve we that thou camst fro god.
16:31Iesus answered them: Now ye do beleve.
16:32Beholde ye houre draweth nye and is already come yt ye shalbe scatered every man his wayes and shall leave me alone. And yet am I not alone. For ye father is with me.
16:33These wordes have I spoke vnto you yt in me ye might have peace. For in ye worlde shall ye have tribulacio: but be of good cheare I have over come the worlde.
