20:1The first day of the weeke, commeth Mary Magdalene earely when it was yet darke, vnto the Sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the Sepulchre.
20:2Then she runneth and commeth to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Iesus loued, and saith vnto them, They haue taken away the Lord out of the Sepulchre, and we know not where they haue laid him.
20:3Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the Sepulchre.
20:4So they ranne both together, and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the Sepulchre.
20:5And he stouping downe and looking in, saw the linnen clothes lying, yet went he not in.
20:6Then commeth Simon Peter following him, and went into the Sepulchre, and seeth the linnen clothes lie,
20:7And the napkin that was about his head, not lying with the linnen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by it selfe.
20:8Then went in also that other disciple which came first to the Sepulchre, and he saw, and beleeued.
20:9For as yet they knew not the Scripture, that hee must rise againe from the dead.
20:10Then the disciples went away againe vnto their owne home.
20:11But Mary stood without at the sepulchre, weeping: & as shee wept, she stouped downe, and looked into the Sepulchre,
20:12And seeth two Angels in white, sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feete, where the body of Iesus had layen:
20:13And they say vnto her, Woman, why weepest thou? Shee saith vnto them, Because they haue taken away my Lord, and I know not where they haue laied him.
20:14And when she had thus said, she turned herselfe backe, and saw Iesus standing, and knew not that it was Iesus.
20:15Iesus saith vnto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She supposing him to be the gardiner, saith vnto him, Sir, if thou haue borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laied him, and I will take him away.
20:16Iesus saith vnto her, Mary. She turned herselfe, and saith vnto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master.
20:17Iesus saith vnto her, Touch me not: for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but goe to my brethren, and say vnto them, I ascend vnto my Father, and your Father, and to my God, and your God.
20:18Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that shee had seene the Lord, and that hee had spoken these things vnto her.
20:19Then the same day at euening, being the first day of the weeke, when the doores were shut, where the disciples were assembled for feare of the Iewes, came Iesus, and stood in the midst, and saith vnto them, Peace bee vnto you.
20:20And when hee had so saide, hee shewed vnto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
20:21Then said Iesus to them againe, Peace be vnto you: As my Father hath sent me, euen so send I you.
20:22And when he had said this, hee breathed on them, and saith vnto them, Receiue ye the holy Ghost.
20:23Whose soeuer sinnes yee remit, they are remitted vnto them, and whose soeuer sinnes yee retaine, they are retained.
20:24But Thomas one of the twelue, called Didymus, was not with them when Iesus came.
20:25The other disciples therefore said vnto him, We haue seene the Lord. But he said vnto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nailes, and put my finger into the print of the nailes, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not beleeue.
20:26And after eight dayes, againe his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: Then came Iesus, the doores being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be vnto you.
20:27Then saith he to Thomas Reach hither thy finger, and beholde my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side, and bee not faithlesse, but beleeuing.
20:28And Thomas answered, and said vnto him, My Lord, and my God.
20:29Iesus saith vnto him, Thomas, because thou hast seene mee, thou hast beleeued: blessed are they that haue not seene, and yet haue beleeued.
20:30And many other signes truely did Iesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this booke:
20:31But these are written, that yee might beleeue that Iesus is the Christ the Sonne of God, and that beleeuing ye might haue life through his Name.

 

20:1The first day of ye Sabbothes, came Marie Magdalene early, whe it was yet darke, vnto the sepulchre, and sawe the stone taken awaye from the graue.
20:2Then she ranne, & came to Simo Peter, & to the other disciple who Iesus loued, & saith vnto the: They haue take away the Lorde out of the graue, & we can not tell where they haue layde him.
20:3Peter therfore went foorth, and that other disciple, & came to the sepulchre.
20:4They ran both together, & the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre:
20:5And when he had stowped downe, he sawe the linnen clothes lying, yet went he not in.
20:6Then came Simon Peter folowyng hym, and went into the sepulchre, and sawe the lynnen clothes lye,
20:7And the napkin yt was about his head not lying with the linnen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by it selfe.
20:8Then went in also that other disciple, whiche came first to the sepulchre, and he sawe, and beleued.
20:9For as yet they knew not ye scripture, that he should rise agayne from death.
20:10Then the disciples wet away agayne vnto their owne house.
20:11Marie stoode without at the sepulchre weepyng: So, as she wepte, she bowed her selfe into the sepulchre,
20:12And seeth two angels clothed in white, sittyng, the one at the head, & the other at the feete, where the body of Iesus was layde.
20:13They saye vnto her: Woman, why weepest thou? She saith vnto the: For they haue taken away my Lorde, & I wote not where they haue layde him.
20:14When she had thus sayde, she turned her selfe backe, and sawe Iesus standyng, and knewe not that it was Iesus.
20:15Iesus saith vnto her: Woman, why weepest thou? Whom sekest thou? She supposing that he had ben the gardener, saith vnto him: Sir, if thou haue borne him hence, tel me where thou hast layde hym, and I wyll fet hym.
20:16Iesus sayth vnto her, Marie. She turned her selfe, and sayde vnto hym: Rabboni, which is to say, Maister.
20:17Iesus saith vnto her: Touche me not, for I am not yet ascended to my father: But go to my brethren, and saye vnto them, I ascende vnto my father and your father, and to my God & your God.
20:18Marie Magdalene came and tolde the disciples that she had seene ye Lorde, and that he had spoken suche thynges vnto her.
20:19The same day at nyght, whiche was the first day of the Sabbothes, when the doores were shut, where the disciples were assembled together for feare of the Iewes, came Iesus and stoode in the myddes, and sayth vnto them, peace be vnto you.
20:20And when he had so sayde, he shewed vnto them his handes & his syde. Then were the disciples glad, when they sawe the Lorde.
20:21Then sayde Iesus to them agayne, peace be vnto you: As my father sent me, euen so sende I you also.
20:22And when he had saide those wordes, he breathed on them, & saith vnto them: Receaue ye the holy ghost.
20:23Whosoeuers sinnes ye remit, they are remitted vnto them: And whosoeuers sinnes ye retayne, they are retayned.
20:24But Thomas, one of the twelue, [which is] called Didymus, was not with them when Iesus came.
20:25The other disciples therfore sayde vnto hym, we haue seene the Lorde. But he sayde vnto them: Except I see in his handes the print of the nayles, and put my fynger into the prynt of the nayles, and thruste my hande into his syde, I wyll not beleue.
20:26And after eyght dayes, againe his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: Then came Iesus, when the doores were shutte, and stoode in the myddes, and sayde, peace be vnto you.
20:27After that said he to Thomas: Bring thy fynger hyther, and see my handes, & reache hyther thy hande, and thrust it into my syde, and be not faythlesse, but beleuyng.
20:28Thomas aunswered, and sayde vnto hym: My Lorde, and my God.
20:29Iesus sayth vnto hym: Thomas, because thou hast seene me, thou hast beleued: Blessed are they that haue not seene, and yet haue beleued.
20:30And many other signes truely dyd Iesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this booke.
20:31These are written, that ye myght beleue that Iesus is Christe the sonne of God, and that in beleuyng, ye myght haue lyfe through his name.

20:9For as yet they knewe not the Scripture, That he must rise againe from the dead.
20:10And the disciples went away againe vnto their owne home.
