| 4:1 | As they spake vnto the people, the prestes and the rulars of the temple, and the Saduces, came vpon them, |
| 4:2 | takyng it greuously, that they taught the people, and preached in Iesus the resurreccyon from deeth. |
| 4:3 | And they layde handes on them, and put them in holde vntyll the nexte daye: for it was now euentyde. |
| 4:4 | Howbeit many of them which hearde the wordes beleued, and the nombre of the men was aboute fyue thousande. |
| 4:5 | And it chaunsed on the morow, that their rulars and elders and Scribes, |
| 4:6 | (and Annas the chefe Prest, and Cayphas, and Iohn, and Alexander, & as many as were of the kynred of the hye Prestes) gathered together at Ierusalem. |
| 4:7 | And whan they had set them before them they asked by what power, or in what name haue ye done this? |
| 4:8 | Then Peter full of the holy goost sayde vnto them ye rulars of the people, and elders of Israel, |
| 4:9 | yf we this daye be examined of the good dede that we haue done to the sycke man by what meanes he is made whoale: |
| 4:10 | be it knowen vnto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Iesus Chryst of Nazareth, whom ye crucyfyed, whom God raysed agayne from deeth: euen by him doth this man stande here present before you whoale. |
| 4:11 | This is the stone which was cast asyde of you buylders, which is become the chefe of the corner. |
| 4:12 | Nether is there saluacyon in eny other. For amonge men vnder heauen there is geuen none other name, wherin we must be saued. |
| 4:13 | When they sawe the boldnes of Peter and Iohn, and vnderstode that they were vnlerned and laye men, they marueyled, and they knewe them, that they had bene with Iesu: |
| 4:14 | and beholdynge also the man (which was healed) standynge with them, they coulde not saye agaynst it: |
| 4:15 | but commaunded them to go asyde out of the counsell, and counceled amonge them selues, |
| 4:16 | sayinge: what shall we do to these men? For a manifest sygne is done by them, and is openly knowen to all them that dwell in Ierusalem, and we cannot denye it. |
| 4:17 | But that it be noysed no farther amonge the people, let vs threaten and charge them, that they speake hence forth to no man in thys name. |
| 4:18 | And they called them, and commaunded them, that in no wyse they shulde speake ner teach in the name of Iesu. |
| 4:19 | But Peter & Iohn answered and sayde vnto them: whether it be ryght in the sight of God, to herken vnto you more then to God, iudge ye. |
| 4:20 | For we cannot but speake, that which we haue sene & heard. |
| 4:21 | So threatened they them, and let them go, and founde nothynge howe to punysshe them, because of the people. For all men praysed God because of that which was done: |
| 4:22 | for the man was aboue fourty yeare olde, on whom thys myracle of healynge was shewed. |
| 4:23 | Assone as they were let go, they came to theyr felowes, and shewed all that the hye Prestes and elders had sayde. |
| 4:24 | And when they hearde that, they lyfte vp their voyces to God with one accorde, and sayde: Lorde, thou art God, which hast made heauen and erth, the see, & all that in them is, |
| 4:25 | which by the mouth of thy seruaunt Dauid hast sayd: Why dyd the hethen rage, and the people ymagen vayne thynges? |
| 4:26 | The kynges of the erth stode vp, and the rulars came together, agaynst the Lorde and agaynst hys anoynted. |
| 4:27 | For of a trueth, agaynst thy holy chylde Iesus (whom thou hast anoynted) both Herode and also Poncius Pylate, which the Gentyls and the people of Israel, gathered them selues together |
| 4:28 | for to do whatsoeuer thy hande and thy counsell determyned before to be done. |
| 4:29 | And now Lorde, beholde their threatenynges, and graunte vnto thy seruauntes, that with all confydence they maye speake thy worde. |
| 4:30 | So that thou stretche forth thyne hande, that healynge and sygnes and wonders be done by the name of thy holy chylde Iesus. |
| 4:31 | And assone as they had prayed the place moued where they were assembled together and they were all fylled with the holy Goost, and they spake the worde of God boldely. |
| 4:32 | And the multitude of them that beleued, were of one hert, & of one soule. Neyther sayde anye of them, that ought of the thynges which he possessed, was hys awne: but they had all thinges commen. |
| 4:33 | And with greate power gaue the Apostles wytnes of the resurrecyon of the Lord Iesu. And great grace was with them all. |
| 4:34 | Nether was ther eny among them, that lacked. For as many as were possessers of landes or houses, solde them, and brought the pryce of the thinges that were solde, |
| 4:35 | and layed it downe at the Apostles fete: And distribucion was made vnto euery man accordynge as he had nede. |
| 4:36 | And Ioses, which was also called of the Apostles, Barnabas (that is to saye, the sonne of consolacyon) beynge a Leuite, and of the countre of Cypers |
| 4:37 | whan he had lande, solde it, and layde the pryce downe at the Apostles fete. |
| 4:1 | And while thei spaken to the puple, the preestis and magistratis of the temple, and the Saduceis camen vpon hem, and soreweden, |
| 4:2 | that thei tauyten the puple, and telden in Jhesu the ayenrisyng fro deth. |
| 4:3 | And thei leiden hondis on hem, and puttiden hem in to warde in to the morewe; for it was thanne euentid. |
| 4:4 | But manye of hem that hadden herd the word, bileueden; and the noumbre of men was maad fyue thousyndis. |
| 4:5 | And amorewe it was don, that the princis of hem, and eldre men and scribis weren gadirid in Jerusalem; |
| 4:6 | and Annas, prince of preestis, and Caifas, and Joon, and Alisaundre, and hou manye euere weren of the kynde of preestis. |
| 4:7 | And thei settiden hem in the myddil, and axiden, In what vertue, ether in what name, han ye don this thing? |
| 4:8 | Thanne Petre was fillid with the Hooli Goost, and seide to hem, Ye pryncis of the puple, and ye eldre men, here ye. |
| 4:9 | If we to dai be demyd in the good dede of a sijk man, in whom this man is maad saaf, |
| 4:10 | be it knowun to you alle, and to al the puple of Israel, that in the name of Jhesu Crist of Nazareth, whom ye crucifieden, whom God reiside fro deth, in this this man stondith hool bifor you. |
| 4:11 | This is the stoon, which was repreued of you bildinge, which is maad in to the heed of the corner; |
| 4:12 | and heelthe is not in ony othir. For nether other name vndur heuene is youun to men, in which it bihoueth vs to be maad saaf. |
| 4:13 | And thei siyen the stidfastnesse of Petre and of Joon, for it was foundun that thei weren men vnlettrid, and lewid men, and thei wondriden, and knewen hem that thei weren with Jhesu. |
| 4:14 | And thei siyen the man that was helid, stondinge with hem, and thei myyten no thing ayenseie. |
| 4:15 | But thei comaundiden hem to go forth with out the counsel. And thei spaken togidere, |
| 4:16 | and seiden, What schulen we do to these men? for the signe is maad knowun bi hem to alle men, that dwellen at Jerusalem; it is opyn, and we moun not denye. |
| 4:17 | But that it be no more pupplischid in to the puple, manasse we to hem, that thei speke no more in this name to ony men. |
| 4:18 | And thei clepiden hem, and denounsiden to hem, that on no maner thei schulden speke, nether teche, in the name of Jhesu. |
| 4:19 | But Petre and Joon answeriden, and seiden to hem, If it be riytful in the siyt of God to here you rather than God, deme ye. |
| 4:20 | For we moten nedis speke tho thingis, that we han sayn and herd. |
| 4:21 | And thei manassiden, and leften hem, and foundun not hou thei schulden punische hem, for the puple; for alle men clarifieden that thing that was don in that that was bifalle. |
| 4:22 | For the man was more than of fourty yeer, in which this signe of heelthe was maad. |
| 4:23 | And whanne thei weren delyuerid, thei camen to her felowis, and telden to hem, hou grete thingis the princis of preestis and the eldre men hadden seid to hem. |
| 4:24 | And whanne thei herden, with oon herte thei reiseden vois to the Lord, and seiden, Lord, thou that madist heuene and erthe, see, and alle thingis that ben in hem, which seidist bi the Hooli Goost, |
| 4:25 | bi the mouth of oure fadir Dauid, thi child, Whi hethen men gnastiden with teeth togidre, and the puplis thouyten veyn thingis? |
| 4:26 | Kyngis of the erthe stoden nyy, and princis camen togidre `in to oon, ayens the Lord, and ayens his Crist. |
| 4:27 | For verili Eroude and Pounce Pilat, with hethene men, and puplis of Israel, camen togidre in this citee ayens thin hooli child Jhesu, |
| 4:28 | whom thou anoyntidist, to do the thingis, that thin hoond and thi counsel demyden to be don. |
| 4:29 | And now, Lord, biholde in to the thretnyngis of hem, and graunte to thi seruauntis to speke thi word with al trist, |
| 4:30 | in that thing that thou holde forth thin hond, that heelthis and signes and wondris be maad bi the name of thin hooli sone Jhesu. |
| 4:31 | And whanne thei hadden preyed, the place was moued, in which thei weren gaderid; and alle weren fillid with the Hooli Goost, and spaken the word of God with trist. |
| 4:32 | And of al the multitude of men bileuynge was oon herte and oon wille; nether ony man seide ony thingis of tho thingis that he weldide to be his owne, but alle thingis weren comyn to hem. |
| 4:33 | And with greet vertu the apostlis yeldiden witnessyng of the ayenrysyng of Jhesu Crist oure Lord, and greet grace was in alle hem. |
| 4:34 | For nether ony nedi man was among hem, for how manye euere weren possessouris of feeldis, ether of housis, thei seelden, and brouyten the pricis of tho thingis that thei seelden, |
| 4:35 | and leiden bifor the feet of the apostlis. And it was departid to ech, as it was nede to ech. |
| 4:36 | Forsothe Joseph, that was named Barsabas of apostlis, that is to seie, the sone of coumfort, of the lynage of Leuy, |
| 4:37 | a man of Cipre, whanne he hadde a feeld, seelde it, and brouyte the prijs, and leide it bifor the feet of apostlis. |
| 4:1 | But as they spake to ye people, there came vnto the the prestes and the rulers of the teple, and the Saduces, |
| 4:2 | who it greued yt they taught the people, & preached in Iesu ye resurreccion fro the deed |
| 4:3 | and they layed handes vpon them, and put the in holde tyll the morow: for it was now euentyde. |
| 4:4 | Howbeit many of the which herde the worde, beleued, and the nombre of ye men was aboute fyue thousande. |
| 4:5 | And it chaunced on ye morow, that their rulers and Elders and scrybes |
| 4:6 | (as Annas ye hye prest and Caiphas, and Ihon & Alexander, and as many as were of the hye prestes kynred) gathered them selues together at Ierusalem, |
| 4:7 | and set them before them, and axed them: By what auctorite, Or in what name haue ye done this? |
| 4:8 | Peter full of the holy goost, sayde vnto them: Ye rulers of the people, and ye Elders of Israel, |
| 4:9 | Yf we this daye be examyned concernynge this good dede vpon the sicke ma, by what meanes he is made whole, |
| 4:10 | be it knowne then vnto you and to all the people of Israel, that in ye name of Iesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, who God hath raysed vp from the deed, stodeth this man here before you whole. |
| 4:11 | This is the stone refused of you buylders, which is become the heade corner stone, |
| 4:12 | nether is there saluacion in eny other: Ner yet also is there geue vnto me eny other name, wherin we must be saued. |
| 4:13 | They sawe the boldnesse of Peter & Ihon and marueyled, for they were sure yt they were vnlerned men and laye people. And they knewe the also, that they were wt Iesu. |
| 4:14 | As for the man yt was made whole, they sawe hi stodinge by the, & coulde not saye agaynst it. |
| 4:15 | Then comaunded they the to stode asyde out of ye councell, & comened amoge the selues, |
| 4:16 | & saide: What shal we do to these me? for a manyfest token is done by them, and is openly knowne vnto the that dwell at Ierusalem, and we can not denye it. |
| 4:17 | But that it breake out no farther amoge the people, let vs threate them earnestly, that hence forth they speake of this name vnto noman. |
| 4:18 | And they called them, and comaunded the, that in eny wyse they shulde not speake ner teache in the name of Iesu. |
| 4:19 | But Peter & Ihon answered, and sayde vnto the: Iudge ye youre selues, whether it be right before God, that we shulde be more obedient vnto you, then vnto God. |
| 4:20 | We can not chose, but speake that we haue sene & herde. |
| 4:21 | But they threatened them, and let them go, and founde nothinge how to punyshe them because of ye people: for they all praysed God because of that, which was done. |

| 4:23 | And whan they were let go, they came to their folowes, and tolde them what ye hye prestes and Elders sayde vnto them. |
| 4:24 | Wha they herde that, they lifte vp their voyce wt one acorde vnto God, and sayde: LORDE, thou that art the God which made heauen and earth, and the see, and all that therin is thou |
| 4:25 | that by the mouth of Dauid thy seruaut hast sayde: Why do the Heythe rage? and ye people ymagin vayne thinges? |
| 4:26 | The kynges of the earth stonde vp, and the prynces haue gathered them selues together agaynst ye LORDE, and agaynst his. Christ. |
| 4:27 | Of a trueth agaynst thy holy childe Iesus, whom thou hast anoynted, both Herode & Pontius Pilate with the Heythen and people of Israel, haue gathered the selues together, |
| 4:28 | to do what soeuer thy hande and thy councell determyned before to be done. |
| 4:29 | And now LORDE, beholde their threatenynges, and graunte vnto thy seruauntes with all stedfast boldnesse to speake thy worde: |
| 4:30 | and stretch out thine hande, that healinge and tokes and wonders maye be done by the name of thy holy childe Iesus. |
| 4:31 | And wha they had prayed, the place moued where they were gathered together, & they were all fylled with ye holy goost, & spake the worde of God boldly. |
| 4:32 | The multitude of them that beleued, were of one hert and of one soule. Also none of them sayde of his goodes, that they were his awne, but had all thinges comen. |
| 4:33 | And with greate power gaue the Apostles witnesse of the resurreccion of the LORDE Iesu, and greate grace was with them all. |
| 4:34 | Nether was there eny amonge them that lacked. For as many as were possessers of londes or houses, solde the and brought ye money of the goodes that were solde, |
