13:1	And profetis and doctouris weren in the chirche that was at Antioche, in which Barnabas, and Symount, that was clepid Blac, and Lucius Cironense, and Manaen, that was the soukynge fere of Eroude tetrarke, and Saul weren.
13:2	And whanne thei mynystriden to the Lord, and fastiden, the Hooli Goost seide to hem, Departe ye to me Saul and Barnabas, in to the werk to which Y haue takun hem.
13:3	Thanne thei fastiden, and preieden, and leiden hondis on hem, and leten hem go.
13:4	But thei weren sent of the Hooli Goost, and wenten forth to Seleucia, and fro thennus thei wenten bi boot to Cipre.
13:5	And whanne thei camen to Salamyne, thei prechiden the word of God in the synagogis of Jewis; and thei hadden also Joon in mynystrie.
13:6	And whanne thei hadden walkid bi al the ile to Pafum, thei founden a man, a witche, a false profete, a Jewe, to whom the name was Bariesu,
13:7	that was with the proconsul Sergius Paule, a prudent man. This clepide Barnabas and Poul, and desiride to here the word of God.
13:8	But Elymas witche withstoode hem; for his name is expowned so; and he souyte to turne awei the proconsul fro bileue.
13:9	But Saul, which is seid also Paul, was fillid with the Hooli Goost, and bihelde in to hym, and seide, A!
13:10	thou ful of al gile, and al falsnesse, thou sone of the deuel, thou enemye of al riytwisnesse, thou leeuest not to turne vpsodoun the riytful weies of the Lord.
13:11	And now lo! the hoond of the Lord is on thee, and thou schalt be blynde, and not seynge the sunne in to a tyme. And anoon myste and derknesse felden doun on hym; and he yede aboute, and souyte hym that schulde yyue hoond to hym.
13:12	Thanne the proconsul, whanne he hadde seyn the dede, bileuede, wondringe on the techyng of the Lord.
13:13	And whanne fro Pafum Poul hadde go bi a boot, and thei that weren with hym, thei camen to Pergen of Pamfilie; but Joon departide fro hem, and turnede ayen to Jerusalem.
13:14	And thei yeden to Pergen, and camen to Antioche of Persidie; and thei entriden in to the synagoge in the dai of sabatis, and saten.
13:15	And after the redyng of the lawe and of the prophetis, the princis of the synagoge senten to hem, and seiden, Britheren, if ony word of exortacioun to the puple is in you, seie ye.
13:16	And Poul roos, and with hoond baad silence, and seide, Men of Israel, and ye that dreden God, here ye.
13:17	God of the puple of Israel chees oure fadris, and enhaunside the puple, whanne thei weren comelingis in the loond of Egipt, and in an hiy arme he ledde hem out of it;
13:18	and bi the tyme of fourti yeeris he suffride her maneres in desert.
13:19	And he destriede seuene folkis in the loond of Canaan, and bi sort departide to hem her lond,
13:20	as aftir foure hundrid and fifti yeeris. And aftir these thingis he yaf domesmen, to Samuel, the profete.
13:21	And fro that tyme thei axiden a kyng, and God yaf to hem Saul, the sone of Cis, a man of the lynage of Beniamyn, bi fourti yeeris.
13:22	And whanne he was don awei, he reiside to hem Dauid king, to whom he bar witnessing, and seide, Y haue foundun Dauid, the sone of Jesse, a man aftir myn herte, which schal do alle my willis.
13:23	Of whos seed bi the biheest God hath led out to Israel a sauyoure Jhesu,
13:24	whanne Joon prechide bifor the face of his comyng the baptym of penaunce to al the puple of Israel.
13:25	But whanne Joon fillide his cours, he seide, Y am not he, whom ye demen me to be; but lo! he cometh aftir me, and Y am not worthi to doon of the schoon of hise feet.
13:26	Britheren, and sones of the kynde of Abraham, and whiche that in you dreden God, to you the word of helthe is sent.
13:27	For thei that dwelliden at Jerusalem, and princis of it, that knewen not this Jhesu, and the voicis of prophetis, that by euery sabat ben red, demyden, and filliden;
13:28	and thei founden in hym no cause of deth, and axiden of Pilat, that thei schulden sle hym.
13:29	And whanne thei hadden endid alle thingis that weren writun of hym, thei token hym doun of the tre, and leiden hym in a graue.
13:30	And God reiside hym fro deth in the thridde dai; which was seyn bi mony daies to
13:31	hem that wenten vp togidere with hym fro Galilee in to Jerusalem, which ben til now his witnessis to the puple.
13:32	And we schewen to you the biheest that was maad to oure fadris;
13:33	for God hath fulfillid this to her sones, and ayenreisid Jhesu; as in the secounde salm it is writun, Thou art my sone, to dai Y bigat thee.
13:34	And he ayenreiside hym fro deth, that he schulde not turne ayen in to corrupcioun, seide thus, For Y schal yyue to you the hooli trewe thingis of Dauid.
13:35	And therfor and on an othere stide he seith, Thou schalt not yyue thin hooli to se corrupcioun.
13:36	But Dauid in his generacioun, whanne he hadde mynstrid to the wille of God, diede, and was leid with hise fadris, and say corrupcioun;
13:37	but he whom God reiside fro deth, say not corrupcioun.
13:38	Therfor, britheren, be it knowun to you, that bi hym remyssioun of synnes is teld to you, fro alle synnes, of whiche ye myyten not be iustified in the lawe of Moises.
13:39	In this ech man that bileueth, is iustified.
13:40	Therfor se ye, that it come not to you, that is biforeseid in the profetis,
13:41	Ye dispiseris, se ye, and wondre ye, and be ye scaterid abrood; for Y worche a werk in youre daies, a werk that ye schulen not bileue, if ony man schal telle it to you.
13:42	And whanne thei yeden out, thei preieden, that in the sabat suynge thei schulden speke to hem these wordis.
13:43	And whanne the synagoge was left, manye of Jewis and of comelingis worschypynge God supeden Poul and Barnabas; that spaken, and counseliden hem, that thei schulden dwelle in the grace of God.
13:44	And in the sabat suynge almest al the citee cam togidir, to here the word of God.
13:45	And Jewis sien the puple, and weren fillid with enuye, and ayenseiden these thingis that weren seyd of Poul, and blasfemyden.
13:46	Thanne Poul and Barnabas stidfastli seiden, To you it bihofte first to speke the word of God; but for ye putten it awei, and han demyd you vnworthi to euerlastinge lijf, lo! we turnen to hethen men.
13:47	For so the Lord comaundide vs, Y haue set thee in to liyt to hethen men, that thou be in to helthe to the vtmest of erthe.
13:48	And hethen men herden, `and ioieden, and glorifieden the word of the Lord; and bileueden, as manye as weren bifore ordeyned to euerlastinge lijf.
13:49	And the word of the Lord was sowun bi al the cuntre.
13:50	But the Jewis stiriden religiouse wymmen, and onest, and the worthiest men of the citee, and stireden persecucioun ayens Poul and Barnabas, and dryuen hem out of her cuntreis.
13:51	And thei schoken awei in to hem the duste of her feet, and camen to Yconye.
13:52	And the disciplis weren fillid with ioye and the Hooli Goost.


13:1	There were at Antioche in the congregacion certayne Prophetes and teachers: as Barnabas and Simon called Niger and Lucius of Cerene and Manahen Herode the Tetrarkes norsfelowe and Saul.
13:2	As they mynistred to the Lorde and fasted the holy goost sayde: separate me Barnabas and Saul for ye worke where vnto I have called them.
13:3	Then fasted they and prayed and put their hondes on them and let them goo.
13:4	And they after they were sent of the holy goost came vnto Seleutia and from thence they sayled to Cyprus.
13:5	And when they were come to Salamine they shewed ye worde of God in ye synagoges of ye Iewes. And they had Iohn to their minister.
13:6	When they had gone thorowout ye yle vnto ye cite of Paphos they foude a certayne sorserer a falce prophet which was a Iewe named Bariesu
13:7	which was with ye ruler of the countre won Sergius Paulus a prudet man. The same ruler called vnto him Barnabas and Saul and desyred to heare the worde of God.
13:8	But Elemas the sorcerar (for so was his name by interpretacion) wt stode them and sought to turne awaye the ruler fro the fayth.
13:9	Then Saul which also is called Paul beinge full of the holy goost set his eyes on him
13:10	and sayde: O full of all sutteltie and disseytfulnes the chylde of the devyll and ye enemye of all righteousnes thou ceasest not to pervert the strayght wayes of the Lorde.
13:11	And now beholde the honde of the Lorde is vpon the and thou shalt be blinde and not se the sunne for a season. And immediatly ther fell on him a myste and a darcknes and he went aboute sekinge them that shuld leade him by the honde.
13:12	Then the rular when he sawe what had happened beleved and wodred at the doctryne of the Lorde.
13:13	When they that were with Paule were departed by shyppe fro Paphus they cam to Perga a cite of Pamphilia: and there Iohn departed from them and returned to Ierusalem.
13:14	But they wandred thorowe the countres fro Perga to Antioche a cite of the coutre of Pisidia and wet in to the synagoge on the saboth daye and sate doune.
13:15	And after the lawe and ye Prophetes were redde ye rulers of the synagoge sent vnto them sayinge: Ye men and brethren yf ye have eny sermo to exhorte ye people saye on.
13:16	Then Paul stode vp and beckened with the honde and sayde: Men of Israel and ye that feare God geve audiece.
13:17	The God of this people chose oure fathers and exalted the people whe they dwelt as straugers in ye londe of Egypt and with a mighty arme brought them oute of it
13:18	and aboute the tyme of .xl. yeares suffred he their maners in the wyldernes.
13:19	And he destroyed. vii nacios in the londe of Canaan and devided their londe to them by lot.
13:20	And after warde he gave vnto them iudges aboute the space of .iiii.C. and .l. yeres vnto the tyme of Samuel ye Prophet.
13:21	And after that they desyred a kinge and God gave vnto them Saul the sonne of Cis a man of the tribe of Beniamin by the space of .xl. yeres.
13:22	And after he had put him doune he set vp David to be their kynge of whome he reported sayinge: I have founde David the sonne of Iesse a man after myne awne hert he shall fulfill all my will.
13:23	Of this manes seed hath God (accordinge to his promes) brought forth to the people of Israel a saviour one Iesus
13:24	when Iohn had fyrst preached before his cominge the baptyme of repentauce to Israel.
13:25	And when Iohn had fulfylled his course he sayde: whome ye thinke that I am the same am I not. But beholde ther cometh one after me whose shewes of his fete I am not worthy to lowse.
13:26	Ye men and brethren chyldren of the generacion of Abraham and whosoever amoge you feareth God to you is this worde of salvacio sent.
13:27	The inhabiters of Ierusalem and their rulers because they knewe him not nor yet the voyces of the Prophetes which are redde every Saboth daye they have fulfilled them in condepninge him.
13:28	nd when they founde no cause of deeth in him yet desyred they Pylate to kyll him.
13:29	And when they had fulfilled all that were written of him they toke him doune from the tree and put him in a sepulcre.
13:30	But God raysed him agayne from deeth
13:31	and he was sene many dayes of them which came wt him fro Galile to Ierusalem. Which are his witnesses vnto the people.
13:32	And we declare vnto you how that ye promes made vnto the fathers
13:33	God hath fulfilled vnto vs their chyldre in that he reysed vp Iesus agayne eve as it is written in the fyrste psalme: Thou arte my sonne this same daye begat I the.
13:34	As concernynge that he reysed him vp from deeth now no more to returne to corrupcion he sayde on this wyse: The holy promyses made to David I will geve them faithfully to you.
13:35	Wherfore he saith also in another place: Thou shalt not soffre thyne holye to se corrupcion.
13:36	Howbe it David after he had in his tyme fulfilled the will of God he slepte and was layde with his fathers and sawe corrupcion.
13:37	But he whom God reysed agayne sawe no corrupcion.
13:38	Be it knowne vnto you therfore ye men and brethre that thorow this man is preached vnto you the forgevenes of synnes
13:39	and yt by him are all yt beleve iustified fro all thinges fro the which ye coulde not be iustified by ye lawe of Moses.
13:40	Beware therfore lest that fall on you which is spoken of in the Prophetes:
13:41	Beholde ye despisers and wonder and perishe ye: for I do aworke in youre dayes which ye shall not beleve yf a ma wolde declare it you.
13:42	When they were come out of the Synagoge of the Iewes the getyls besought yt they wolde preache the worde to them bitwene the Saboth dayes.
13:43	When the congregacion was broken vp many of the Iewes and verteous covertes folowed Paul and Barnabas which spake to them and exhorted them to cotinue in the grace of God.
13:44	And ye nexte Saboth daye came almoste the whole cite to gether to heare the worde of God.
13:45	When ye Iewes sawe the people they were full of indignacion and spake agaynst those thinges which were spoken of Paul spekinge agaynst it and raylinge on it.
13:46	Then Paul and Barnabas wexed bolde and sayde: it was mete that the worde of God shulde fyrst have bene preached to you. But seinge ye put it from you and thinke youre selfes onworthy of everlastinge lyfe: lo we turne to the gentyls.
13:47	For so hath the Lorde comaunded vs: I have made ye a light to the getyls yt thou be salvacio vnto ye ende of ye worlde.
13:48	The getyls hearde and were glad and glorified the worde of ye Lorde and beleved: eve as many as were ordeyned vnto eternall lyfe.
13:49	And ye worde of the Lorde was publisshed thorowe oute all the region.
13:50	But the Iewes moved ye worshypfull and honorable wemen and the chefe men of the cyte and reysed persecucio agaynst Paul and Barnabas and expelled them oute of their costes.
13:51	And they shouke of ye duste of their fete agaynst them and came vnto Iconiu.
13:52	And the disciples were filled with ioye and with the holy goost.

13:7	which was with Sergius Paulus the ruler of the countre, a ma of vnderstondinge. The same called Barnabas and Saul vnto him, and desyred to heare ye worde of God.
13:8	Then the Sorcerer Elimas (for so was his name by interpretacion) withstode the, and soughte to turne awaye the ruler fro the faith.
13:9	But Saul which is also called Paul, beynge full of the holy goost, loked vpon him,
13:10	and sayde: O thou childe of the deuell, full of all futtyltie and all disceatfulnesse, and enemye of all righteousnes, thou ceassest not to peruerte the straight wayes of ye LORDE.
13:11	And now beholde, the hade of the LORDE commeth vpon the, and thou shalt be blynde, and not se the Sonne for a season, And immediatly there fell on him a myst and darknesse, and he wente aboute, and soughte them that shulde lede him by the hande.
13:12	Whan the ruler sawe what was done, he beleued, and wodred at the doctryne of the LORDE.
13:13	Whan Paul and they that were with him, were departed by shippe fro Paphos, they came to Perga in the londe of Pamphilia. But Ihon departed from them, and wente agayne to Ierusalem.
13:14	Neuertheles they wandred thorow from Perga, and came to Antioche in the londe of Pisidia, and wete in to the synagoge vpon the Sabbath daye, and sat downe.
13:15	But after the lecture of the lawe and of the prophetes, the rulers of the synagoge sent vnto them, sayenge: Good brethren, yf ye haue eny sermon to exorte the people, saye on.
13:16	Then stode Paul vp, and beckened with the hande (that they shulde holde their peace) and sayde:Ye men of Israel, and ye that feare God, herke to:
13:17	The God of this people chose oure fathers, and exalted the people, whan they were straungers in the lode of Egipte, and with a mightie arme broughte he them out of it.
13:18	And by the space of fortye yeares suffred he their maners in the wyldernesse,
13:19	and destroyed seuen nacions in the lande of Canaan, and parted their londe amonge them by lott.
13:20	After that gaue he them iudges by the space of foure hundreth and fiftye yeares, vnto the prophet Samuel.
13:21	And after that they desyred a kynge, and God gaue vnto them Saul the sonne of Cis, a man of the trybe of BenIamin, fortye yeares longe.
13:22	And whan he had put him downe, he set vp Dauid to be their kynge, of whom he reported, sayenge: I haue founde Dauid the sonne of Iesse, a man after my hert, he shal fulfyll all my wyll.
13:23	Of this mans sede hath God ( acordinge to the promesse) broughte forth vnto the people of Israel, ye Sauioure Iesus:
13:24	whan Ihon had first preached before his comynge the baptyme of repentaunce vnto Israel.
13:25	But whan Ihon had fulfylled his course, he sayde: I am not he, that ye take me for. But beholde, there commeth one after me, whose shues of his fete I am not worthy to lowse.
13:26	Ye men and brethren, ye children of the generacion of Abraham, and they that feare God amonge you, vnto you is ye worde of this saluacion sent.
13:27	For the inhabiters of Ierusalem, and their rulers, for somoch as they knewe him not, ner yet the voyces of the prophetes (which are red euery Sabbath) haue fulfylled them in condemnynge him.
13:28	And though they founde no cause of death in him, yet desyred they Pilate to kyll him.
13:29	And whan they had fulfylled all that was wrytten of him, they toke him downe from the tre, and layed him in a sepulcre.
13:30	But on ye thirde daye God raysed him vp from the deed,
13:31	and he appeared many dayes vnto the, that wente vp with him from Galile vnto Ierusalem, which are his witnesses vnto the people.
13:32	And we also declare vnto you ye promes, which was made vnto oure fathers,
13:33	how that God hath fulfylled the same vnto vs their children, in yt he raysed vp Iesus agayne. As it is wrytten in the seconde Psalme: Thou art my sonne, this daye haue I begotten the.
13:34	But that he hath raysed him vp fro the deed, now nomore to returne to corrupcion, he sayde on this wyse: The grace promysed to Dauid, wyl I faithfully kepe vnto you.
13:35	Therfore sayeth he also in another place: Thou shalt not suffre thy Holy to se corrupcion.
13:36	For Dauid, whan he in his tyme had serued the wyll of God, he fell a slepe, and was layed by his fathers, & sawe corrupcion.
13:37	But he who God raysed vp agayne, sawe no corrupcion.
13:38	Be it knowne vnto you therfore ye men and brethre, yt thorow this man is preached vnto you ye forgeuenesse of synnes,
13:39	and fro all ye thinges, wherby ye mighte not be iustifyed in the lawe of Moses.
13:40	But whosoeuer beleueth on this man, is iustifyed. Bewarre therfore, that it come not vpon you, which is spoken in the prophetes:
13:41	Beholde ye despysers, and wonder at it, and perishe, for I do a worke in youre tyme, which ye shal not beleue, yf eny man tell it you.
13:42	Whan the Iewes were gone out of the synagoge, the Heythen besoughte them, yt they wolde speake ye worde vnto them betwene the Sabbath dayes.
13:43	And wha the cogregacion of the synagoge was broken vp, many Iewes and Proselites yt serued God, folowed Paul and Barnabas, which spake to them, and exorted them, that they shulde contynue in the grace of God.
13:44	On ye Sabbath folowinge, came almost the whole cite together, to heare the worde of God.
13:45	But whan the Iewes sawe the people, they were full of indignacion, and spake agaynst that which was spoken of Paul, speakinge agaynst it, & blasphemynge.
13:46	But Paul and Barnabas waxed bolde, and sayde: It behoued first the worde of God to be spoken vnto you: but now that ye thrust it fro you, and counte youre selues vnworthy of euerlastinge life, lo, we turne to the Gentyles.
13:47	For so hath the LORDE comaunded vs: I haue set the to be a lighte vnto ye Gentyles, yt thou be ye Saluacion vnto the ende of the earth.
13:48	Whan the Gentyles herde that, they were glad, and praysed the worde of the LORDE, and beleued, eue as many as were ordeyned to euerlastinge life.
13:49	And the worde of ye LORDE was spred abrode thorow out all the region.
13:50	Howbeit the Iewes moued the deuoute and honorable wemen, and the chefe men of the citie, and raysed vp a persecucion agaynst Paul and Barnabas and expelled them out of their coastes.
13:51	But they shoke of the dust of their fete agaynst them, and came to Iconium.
13:52	And the disciples were fylled with ioye and with the holy goost.
