20:5These for thei wenten bifore, aboden vs at Troade.
20:6For we schippiden aftir the daies of therf looues fro Filippis, and cam to hem at Troade in fyue daies, where we dwelten seuene daies.
20:7And in the first dai of the woke, whanne we camen to breke breed, Poul disputide with hem, and schulde go forth in the morew;

20:9And a yong man, Euticus bi name, sat on the wyndowe, whanne he was fallun in to an heuy sleep, while Poul disputide long, al slepynge he felle doun fro the thridde stage; and he was takun vp, and was brouyt deed.

20:11And he wente vp, and brak breed, and eete, and spak ynowy vnto the dai; and so he wente forth.
20:12And thei brouyten the childe alyue, and thei weren coumfortid greetli.
20:13And we wenten vp in to a schip, and schippiden in to Asson, to take Poul fro thennus; for so he hadde disposid to make iourney bi loond.
20:14And whanne he foond vs in Asson, we token hym, and camen to Mitilene.
20:15And fro thennus we schippiden in the dai suynge, and we camen ayens Chyum, and another dai we hauenyden at Samum, and in the dai suynge we camen to Mylete.
20:16And Poul purposide to schip ouer to Efesi, lest ony tariyng were maad to hym in Asie; for he hiyede, if it were possible to hym, that he schulde be in the dai of Pentecost at Jerusalem.
20:17Fro Mylete he sente to Effesi, and clepide the grettest men of birthe of the chirche.
20:18And whanne thei camen to hym, and weren togidir, he seide to hem, Ye witen fro the firste dai, in which Y cam in to Asie, hou with you bi eche tyme Y was,
20:19seruynge to the Lord with al mekenesse, and mildnesse, and teeris, and temptaciouns, that felden to me of aspiyngis of Jewis;
20:20hou Y withdrowe not of profitable thingis to you, that Y telde not to you, and tauyte you opynli, and bi housis;
20:21and Y witnesside to Jewis and to hethene men penaunce in to God, and feith in to oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
20:22And now lo! Y am boundun in spirit, and go in to Jerusalem; and Y knowe not what thingis schulen come to me in it,
20:23but that the Hooli Goost `bi alle citees witnessith to me, and seith, that boondis and tribulaciouns at Jerusalem abiden me.
20:24But Y drede no thing of these, nether Y make my lijf preciousere than my silf, so that Y end my cours, and the mynysterie of the word, which Y resseyuede of the Lord Jhesu, to witnesse the gospel of the grace of God.
20:25And `now lo! Y woot, that ye schulen no more se my face, alle ye bi whiche Y passide, prechynge the kingdom of God.
20:26Wherfor Y witnesse to you this day, that Y am cleen of the blood of alle men.
20:27For Y fley not awey, that Y telde not to you al the counsel of God.
20:28Take ye tente to you, and to al the flocke, in which the Hooli Goost hath set you bischops, to reule the chirche of God, which he purchaside with his blood.
20:29Y woot, that aftir my departyng, rauyschinge wolues schulen entre in to you, `and spare not the flok;
20:30and men spekinge schrewid thingis schulen rise of you silf, that thei leden awei disciplis aftir hem.
20:31For which thing wake ye, holdinge in mynde that bi thre yeer nyyt and dai Y ceesside not with teeris monestinge ech of you.
20:32And now Y bitake you to God and to the word of his grace, that is myyti to edifie and yyue eritage in alle that ben maad hooli.
20:33And of no man Y coueitide siluer, and gold, ether cloth, as you silf witen;
20:34for to tho thingis that weren nedeful to me, and to these that ben with me, these hoondis mynystriden.
20:35Alle these thingis Y schewide to you, for so it bihoueth men trauelinge to resseyue sike men, and to haue mynde of the `word of the Lord Jhesu; for he seide, It is more blesful to yyue, than to resseyue.
20:36And whanne he hadde seid these thingis, he knelide, and he preiede with alle hem.
20:37And greet weping of alle men was maad; and thei felden on the necke of Poul, and kissiden hym,
20:38and sorewiden moost in the word that he seide, for thei schulen no more se his face. And thei ledden hym to the schip.

20:1Nowe after the tumult was appeased, Paul called the disciples vnto him, and embraced them, and departed to goe into Macedonia.
20:2And when hee had gone through those parts, and had exhorted them with many words, he came into Grecia.
20:3And hauing taried there three moneths, because the Iewes layde waite for him, as hee was about to saile into Syria, hee purposed to returne through Macedonia.
20:4And there accompanied him into Asia, Sopater of Berea, and of them of Thessalonica, Aristarchus, and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus, and of them of Asia, Tychicus, and Trophimus.
20:5These went before, and taried vs at Troas.
20:6And we sailed forth from Philippi, after the dayes of vnleauened bread, and came vnto them to Troas in fiue dayes, where we abode seuen dayes.
20:7And the first day of the weeke, the disciples being come together to breake bread, Paul preached vnto them, ready to depart on the morrow, and continued the preaching vnto midnight.
20:8And there were many lightes in an vpper chamber, where they were gathered together.
20:9And there sate in a windowe a certaine yong man, named Eutychus, fallen into a dead sleepe: and as Paul was long preaching, hee ouercome with sleepe, fell downe from the thirde loft, and was taken vp dead.
20:10But Paul went downe, and layde himselfe vpon him, and embraced him, saying, Trouble not your selues: for his life is in him.
20:11Then when Paul was come vp againe, and had broken bread, and eaten, hauing spoken a long while till the dawning of the day, hee so departed.
20:12And they brought the boye aliue, and they were not a litle comforted.
20:13Then we went before to shippe, and sailed vnto the citie Assos, that wee might receiue Paul there: for so had hee appointed, and would himselfe goe afoote.
20:14Now when he was come vnto vs to Assos, and we had receiued him, we came to Mitylenes.
20:15And wee sailed thence, and came the next day ouer against Chios, and the next day we arriued at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium: the next day we came to Miletum.
20:16For Paul had determined to saile by Ephesus, because hee woulde not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted to be, if hee could possible, at Hierusalem, at the day of Pentecost.
20:17Wherefore from Miletum, hee sent to Ephesus, and called the Elders of the Church.
20:18Who when they were come to him, hee said vnto them, Ye know from the first day that I came into Asia, after what maner I haue bene with you at all seasons,
20:19Seruing the Lord with all modestie, and with many teares, and tentations, which came vnto me by the layings awaite of the Iewes,
20:20And how I kept backe nothing that was profitable, but haue shewed you, and taught you openly and throughout euery house,
20:21Witnessing both to the Iewes, and to the Grecians the repentance towarde God, and faith toward our Lord Iesus Christ.
20:22And nowe beholde, I goe bound in the Spirit vnto Hierusalem, and know not what things shall come vnto me there,
20:23Saue that ye holy Ghost witnesseth in euery citie, saying, that bondes and afflictions abide me.
20:24But I passe not at all, neither is my life deare vnto my selfe, so that I may fulfill my course with ioye, and the ministration which I haue receiued of the Lord Iesus, to testifie the Gospell of the grace of God.
20:25And now behold, I know that henceforth ye all, through whome I haue gone preaching the kingdome of God, shall see my face no more.
20:26Wherefore I take you to recorde this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
20:27For I haue kept nothing backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.
20:28Take heede therefore vnto your selues, and to all the flocke, whereof the holy Ghost hath made you Ouerseers, to feede the Church of God, which hee hath purchased with that his owne blood.
20:29For I knowe this, that after my departing shall grieuous wolues enter in among you, not sparing the flocke.
20:30Moreouer of your owne selues shall men arise speaking peruerse thinges, to drawe disciples after them.
20:31Therefore watche, and remember, that by the space of three yeres I ceased not to warne euery one, both night and day with teares.
20:32And nowe brethren, I commend you to God, and to the worde of his grace, which is able to build further, and to giue you an inheritance, among all them, which are sanctified.
20:33I haue coueted no mans siluer, nor gold, nor apparell.
20:34Yea, ye knowe, that these handes haue ministred vnto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
20:35I haue shewed you all things, howe that so labouring, ye ought to support the weake, and to remember the wordes of the Lord Iesus, howe that hee saide, It is a blessed thing to giue, rather then to receiue.
20:36And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled downe, and prayed with them all.
20:37Then they wept all abundantly, and fell on Pauls necke, and kissed him,
20:38Being chiefly sorie for the words which he spake, That they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him vnto the shippe.

20:1After the uproar had ceased, Paul called the disciples to himself, embraced them, and departed to go to Macedonia.
20:2Now when he had gone over that region and encouraged them with many words, he came into Greece
20:3and stayed there three months. And when the Jews plotted against him as he was about to sail to Syria, he decided to return through Macedonia.
20:4And Sopater of Berea accompanied him to Asia, also Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and of Asia Tychicus and Trophimus.
20:5These, going ahead, waited for us at Troas.
20:6But we sailed away from Philippi after the Days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days joined them at Troas, where we stayed seven days.
20:7Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, preached to them and continued his message until midnight.
20:8There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together.
20:9And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was falling into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued preaching, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.
20:10But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, "Do not trouble yourselves, because his life is in him."
20:11Now when he had come up again, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even until daybreak, he departed.
20:12And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.
20:13Then we went ahead to the ship and sailed to Assos, there intending to take Paul on board; because he had given orders, intending himself to go on foot.
20:14And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and came to Mitylene.
20:15We sailed from there, and the next day came opposite Chios. The following day we arrived at Samos and stayed at Trogyllium. The next day we came to Miletus.
20:16Because, Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; because he was hurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day of Pentecost.
20:17From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called for the elders of the church.
20:18And when they had come to him, he said to them: "You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I always lived among you, in every season
20:19serving the Lord with all humility of mind, with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plotting of the Jews;
20:20and how I kept back nothing that was helpful to you, but have shown you, and taught you publicly and from house to house,
20:21testifying both to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
20:22And behold, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall happen to me there,
20:23except that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me.
20:24But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
20:25"And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no longer.
20:26Therefore I want you to record this day that I am innocent of the blood of all people.
20:27Because I have not shunned to declare to you the entire counsel of God.
20:28Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
20:29Because I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.
20:30Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after themselves.
20:31Therefore watch, and remember that for the space of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
20:32"So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
20:33I have coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.
20:34Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.
20:35I have shown you in everything, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
20:36And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
20:37Then they all wept freely, and fell on Paul's neck and kissed him,
20:38sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no longer. And they accompanied him to the ship.
