| 2:1 | Therefore, thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoeuer thou art that iudgest: for wherein thou iudgest another, thou condemnest thy selfe, for thou that iudgest doest the same things. |
| 2:2 | But wee are sure that the iudgement of God is according to trueth, against them which commit such things. |
| 2:3 | And thinkest thou this, O man, that iudgest them which doe such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the iudgement of God? |
| 2:4 | Or despisest thou the riches of his goodnesse, and forbearance, and long suffering, not knowing that the goodnes of God leadeth thee to repentance? |
| 2:5 | But after thy hardnesse, and impenitent heart, treasurest vp vnto thy selfe wrath, against the day of wrath, and reuelation of the righteous iudgement of God: |
| 2:6 | Who will render to euery man according to his deedes: |
| 2:7 | To them, who by patient continuance in well doing, seeke for glorie, and honour, and immortalitie, eternall life: |
| 2:8 | But vnto them that are contentious, & doe not obey the trueth, but obey vnrighteousnes, indignation, & wrath, |
| 2:9 | Tribulation, and anguish vpon euery soule of man that doeth euill, of the Iew first, and also of the Gentile. |
| 2:10 | But glory, honour, and peace, to euery man that worketh good, to the Iew first, and also to the Gentile. |
| 2:11 | For there is no respect of persons with God. |
| 2:12 | For as many as haue sinned without Law, shall also perish without Law: and as many as haue sinned in the Law, shalbe iudged by the Law. |
| 2:13 | (For not the hearers of the Law are iust before God, but the doers of the Law shalbe iustified; |
| 2:14 | For when the Gentiles which haue not the Law, doe by nature the things contained in the Law: these hauing not the Law, are a Law vnto themselues, |
| 2:15 | Which shew the worke of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witnesse, and their thoughts the meane while accusing, or else excusing one another: |
| 2:16 | In the day when God shall iudge the secrets of men by Iesus Christ, according to my Gospel. |
| 2:17 | Behold, thou art called a Iew, and restest in the Law, and makest thy boast of God: |
| 2:18 | And knowest his will, and approuest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the Law, |
| 2:19 | And art confident that thou thy selfe art a guide of the blinde, a light of them which are in darkenesse: |
| 2:20 | An instructour of the foolish, a teacher of babes: which hast the forme of knowledge and of the trueth in the Law: |
| 2:21 | Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thy selfe? thou that preachest a man should not steale, doest thou steale? |
| 2:22 | Thou that sayest a man should not commit adulterie, doest thou commit adulterie? thou that abhorrest idols, doest thou commit sacriledge? |
| 2:23 | Thou that makest thy boast of the Law, through breaking the Law dishonourest thou God? |
| 2:24 | For the Name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles, through you, as it is written: |
| 2:25 | For Circumcision verily profiteth if thou keepe the Law: but if thou be a breaker of the Law, thy Circumcision is made vncircumcision. |
| 2:26 | Therefore, if the vncircumcision keepe the righteousnesse of the Law, shall not his vncircumcision be counted for Circumcision? |
| 2:27 | And shall not vncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfill the Law, iudge thee, who by the letter, and Circumcision, doest transgresse the Law? |
| 2:28 | For hee is not a Iew, which is one outwardly, neither is that Circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: |
| 2:29 | But he is a Iew which is one inwardly, and Circumcision is, that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God. |
| 2:1 | Therfore canst thou not excuse thyselfe (O ma) who soeuer thou be that iudgest: for loke wherin thou iudgest another, thou condemnest thy selfe, in so moch as thou that iudgest, doest euen the same. |
| 2:2 | For we are sure that the iudgment of God is (acordinge to the trueth) ouer them that do soch. |
| 2:3 | But thinkest thou this O thou man, that iudgest them which do soch thinges, and doest euen the very same thy selfe, that thou shalt escape ye iudgmet of God? |
| 2:4 | Or despysest thou the riches of his goodnesse, pacience, and loge sufferinge? Knowest thou not, that ye louynge kyndnesse of God leadeth the to repentaunce? |
| 2:5 | But thou after thine harde and impenitent hert, heapest vnto thy selfe a treasure of wrath, agaynst the daye of wrath and of the openynge of the righteous iudgment of God, |
| 2:6 | which shal rewarde euery man acordinge to his dedes: |
| 2:7 | namely, prayse & honoure, and vncorrupcion, vnto them that with pacience in doinge good, seke euerlastinge life: |
| 2:8 | But vnto them that are contencious & not obedient vnto the trueth, but obeye vnrighteousnes, shal come indignacion and wrath, |
| 2:9 | trouble and anguysh vpo all the soules of me that do euell, of the Iewe first and also of the Greke: |
| 2:10 | But vnto all the that do good (shal come) prayse and honoure, and peace, vnto the Iewe first, and also to the Greke. |
| 2:11 | For there is no respecte of personnes before God: Who so euer haue synned without lawe, |
| 2:12 | shal perish also without lawe: and whosoeuer haue synned in the lawe, shalbe iudged by the lawe. |
| 2:13 | For before God, they are not righteous, which heare ye lawe: but they that do the lawe, shalbe iustified. |
| 2:14 | For yf the Gentyles which haue not the lawe, do of nature the thinges conteyned in the lawe, then they hauynge not the lawe, are a lawe vnto them selues, |
| 2:15 | in that they shewe, that the worke of ye lawe is wrytte in their hertes: whyle their conscience beareth witnesse vnto the, and also the thoughtes which accuse or excuse them amonge them selues, |
| 2:16 | in the daye whan God shal iudge the secretes of men by Iesus Christ, acordinge to my Gospell. |
| 2:17 | But take hede, thou art called a Iewe, and trustest in the lawe, & makest thy boost of God, |
| 2:18 | and knowest his will: & for so moch as thou art enfourmed out of ye lawe, |
| 2:19 | thou prouest what is best to do, and presumest to be a leader of the blynde: a lighte of them yt are in darcknes: |
| 2:20 | an enformer of ye vnwyse: a teacher of ye symple: which hast the ensample of knowlege & of the trueth in the lawe. |
| 2:21 | Now teachest thou other, and teachest not thy selfe. Thou preachest that a man shulde not steale, and thou stealest. |
| 2:22 | Thou sayest, that a man shulde not breake wedlocke, and thou breakest wedlocke. Thou abhorrest ymages, and robbest God of his honoure. |
| 2:23 | Thou makest thy boost of the lawe, and thorow breakynge of the lawe thou dishonorest God. |
| 2:24 | For thorow you is the name of God euell spoken of amonge the Gentyles, as it is wrytten. |
| 2:25 | The circucision verely avayleth, yf thou kepe the lawe: but yf thou breake the lawe, then is thy circumcision become vncircumcision. |
| 2:26 | Therfore yf the vncircumcision kepe the righte thinges conteyned in the lawe, shal not his vncircumcision be counted for circumcision? |
| 2:27 | And so it that of nature is vncircumcision, and fulfilleth the lawe shal iudge the, which vnder the letter and circumcision trasgressest the lawe. |
| 2:28 | For he is not a Iew which is a Iewe outwarde: nether is that circucision which is done outwardly in ye flesh: |
| 2:29 | But he is a Iewe, which is hydd within. And the circumcision of ye hert is the circumcision, which is done in the sprete and not in the letter: Whoseprayse is not of men, but of God. |

| 2:4 | Whether `dispisist thou the richessis of his goodnesse, and the pacience, and the long abidyng? Knowist thou not, that the benygnyte of God ledith thee to forthenkyng? |
| 2:5 | But aftir thin hardnesse and vnrepentaunt herte, thou tresorist to thee wraththe in the dai of wraththe and of schewyng of the riytful doom of God, |
| 2:6 | that schal yelde to ech man aftir his werkis; |
| 2:7 | sotheli to hem that ben bi pacience of good werk, glorie, and onour, and vncorrupcioun, to hem that seken euerlastynge lijf; |
| 2:8 | but to hem that ben of strijf, and that assenten not to treuthe, but bileuen to wickidnesse, wraththe and indignacioun, tribulacioun and angwisch, |
| 2:9 | in to ech soule of man that worchith yuel, to the Jew first, and to the Greke; |
| 2:10 | but glorie, and honour, and pees, to ech man that worchith good thing, to the Jew first, and to the Greke. |
| 2:11 | For accepcioun of persones is not anentis God. |
| 2:12 | For who euere han synned without the lawe, schulen perische withouten the lawe; and who euere han synned in the lawe, thei schulen be demyd bi the lawe. |
| 2:13 | For the hereris of lawe ben not iust anentis God, but the doeris of the lawe schulen be maad iust. |
| 2:14 | For whanne hethene men that han not lawe, don kyndli tho thingis that ben of the lawe, thei not hauynge suche manere lawe, ben lawe to hem silf, |
| 2:15 | that schewen the werk of the lawe writun in her hertis. For the conscience of hem yeldith to hem a witnessyng bytwixe hem silf of thouytis that ben accusynge or defendynge, |
| 2:16 | in the dai whanne God schal deme the priuy thingis of men aftir my gospel, bi Jhesu Crist. |
| 2:17 | But if thou art named a Jew, and restist in the lawe, and hast glorie in God, |
| 2:18 | and hast knowe his wille, and thou lerud bi lawe preuest the more profitable thingis, |
| 2:19 | and tristist thi silf to be a ledere of blynde men, the liyt of hem that ben in derknessis, |
| 2:20 | a techere of vnwise men, a maistir of yonge children, that hast the foorme of kunnyng and of treuthe in the lawe; |
| 2:21 | what thanne techist thou another, and techist not thi silf? Thou that prechist that me schal not stele, stelist? |
| 2:22 | Thou that techist that me schal `do no letcherie, doist letcherie? Thou that wlatist maumetis, doist sacrilegie? |
| 2:23 | Thou that hast glorie in the lawe, vnworschipist God bi brekyng of the lawe? |
| 2:24 | For the name of God is blasfemed bi you among hethene men, as is writun. |
| 2:25 | For circumcisioun profitith, if thou kepe the lawe; but if thou be a trespassour ayens the lawe, thi circumsicioun is maad prepucie. |
| 2:26 | Therfor if prepucie kepe the riytwisnessis of the lawe, whethir his prepucie schal not be arettid in to circumcisioun? |
| 2:27 | And the prepucie of kynde that fulfillith the lawe, schal deme thee, that bi lettre and circumcisioun art trespassour ayens the lawe. |
| 2:28 | For he that is in opene is not a Jew, nether it is circumsicioun that is openli in the fleisch; |
| 2:29 | but he that is a Jew in hid, and the circumcisioun of herte, in spirit, not bi the lettre, whos preisyng is not of men, but of God. |
