Romans - Chapter: 7


7:1	Or do you not know, brethren (because I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
7:2	Because, the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.
7:3	So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.
7:4	Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law by the body of Christ, that you may be married to another, even to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
7:5	Because, when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.
7:6	But now we have been delivered from the law, that which we were held by being dead, so that we should serve in the newness of the spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
7:7	What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. Because, I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet."
7:8	But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. Because apart from the law sin was dead.
7:9	Because, I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.
7:10	And the commandment, which was appointed for life, I found to bring death.
7:11	Because sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.
7:12	Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.
7:13	Has then what is good become death to me? God forbid! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me by what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.
7:14	Because, we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.
7:15	Because what I am doing, I do not approve. Because what I will to do, that I do not do; but what I hate, that I do.
7:16	If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.
7:17	But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
7:18	Because, I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; because, to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
7:19	Because, the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I do.
7:20	Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
7:21	I find then a law, that when I will to do good, evil is present with me.
7:22	Because, I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.
7:23	But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
7:24	O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
7:25	I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.


7:1	Knowe yee not, brethren, (for I speake to them that knowe the Lawe) that the Lawe hath dominion ouer a man as long as he liueth?
7:2	For the woman which is in subiection to a man, is bound by the Lawe to the man, while he liueth: but if the man bee dead, shee is deliuered from the lawe of the man.
7:3	So then, if while the man liueth, she taketh another man, she shalbe called an adulteresse: but if the man be dead, she is free from the Law, so that shee is not an adulteresse, though shee take another man.
7:4	So yee, my brethren, are dead also to the Law by ye body of Christ, that ye should be vnto an other, euen vnto him that is raised vp from the dead, that we should bring foorth fruite vnto God.
7:5	For when we were in ye flesh, the affections of sinnes, which were by the Law, had force in our members, to bring foorth fruit vnto death.
7:6	But now we are deliuered from the Lawe, he being dead in whom we were holden, that we should serue in newnesse of Spirite, and not in the oldnesse of the letter.
7:7	What shall we say then? Is the Lawe sinne? God forbid. Nay, I knewe not sinne, but by the Lawe: for I had not knowen lust, except the Lawe had sayd, Thou shalt not lust.
7:8	But sinne tooke an occasion by ye commandement, and wrought in me all maner of concupiscence: for without the Lawe sinne is dead.
7:9	For I once was aliue, without the Law: but when the commandement came, sinne reuiued,
7:10	But I died: and the same commandement which was ordeined vnto life, was found to be vnto me vnto death.
7:11	For sinne tooke occasion by the commandement, and deceiued me, and thereby slewe me.
7:12	Wherefore the Lawe is holy, and that commandement is holy, and iust, and good.
7:13	Was that then which is good, made death vnto me? God forbid: but sinne, that it might appeare sinne, wrought death in me by that which is good, that sinne might be out of measure sinfull by the commandement.
7:14	For we knowe that the Law is spirituall, but I am carnall, solde vnder sinne.
7:15	For I alow not that which I do: for what I would, that do I not: but what I hate, that do I.
7:16	If I doe then that which I woulde not, I consent to the Lawe, that it is good.
7:17	Nowe then, it is no more I, that doe it, but sinne that dwelleth in me.
7:18	For I know, that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to wil is preset with me: but I find no meanes to perform that which is good.
7:19	For I doe not the good thing, which I would, but the euil, which I would not, that do I.
7:20	Nowe if I do that I would not, it is no more I that doe it, but the sinne that dwelleth in me.
7:21	I finde then that when I would doe good, I am thus yoked, that euill is present with me.
7:22	For I delite in the Law of God, concerning the inner man:
7:23	But I see another Law in my members, rebelling against the Lawe of my minde, and leading me captiue vnto the lawe of sinne, which is in my members.
7:24	O wretched man that I am, who shall deliuer me from the body of this death!
7:25	I thanke God through Iesus Christ our Lord. Then I my selfe in my minde serue the Lawe of God, but in my flesh the lawe of sinne.


7:1	Remember ye not brethren (I speake to them yt know the lawe) how that the lawe hath power over a man as longe as it endureth?
7:2	For the woman which is in subieccion to a man is bounde by the lawe to the man as longe as he liveth. Yf the man be deed she is lowsed from the lawe of the man.
7:3	So then yf whill the man liveth she couple her selfe with another man she shalbe counted a wedlocke breaker. But yf the man be deed she is fre fro the lawe: so that she is no wedlocke breaker though she couple her selfe with another man.
7:4	Even so ye my brethren are deed concerninge the lawe by the body of Christ yt ye shuld be coupled to another (I meane to him that is rysen agayne fro deeth) that we shuld bringe forth frute vnto God.
7:5	For when we were in the flesshe the lustes of synne which were stered vppe by ye lawe raygned in oure membres to bringe forth frute vnto deeth.
7:6	But now are we delivered fro the lawe and deed fro that whervnto we werein bondage that we shuld serve in a newe conversacion of ye sprete and not in ye olde conversacion of the letter.
7:7	What shall we saye then? is ye lawe synne? God forbid: but I knewe not what synne meant but by the lawe. For I had not knowne what lust had meant excepte the lawe had sayde thou shalt not lust.
7:8	But synne toke an occasion by the meanes of the commaundement and wrought in me all manner of concupiscece. For with out the lawe synne was deed.
7:9	I once lived with out lawe. But when the commaundement came synne revyved and I was deed.
7:10	And the very same comaundement which was ordeyned vnto lyfe was founde to be vnto me an occasion of deeth.
7:11	For synne toke occasion by the meanes of the comaundement and so disceaved me and by the selfe commaundement slewe we.
7:12	Wherfore the lawe is holy and the commaundement holy iust and good.
7:13	Was that then which is good made deeth vnto me? God forbyd. Naye synne was deeth vnto me that it myght appere how that synne by the meanes of that which is good had wrought deeth in me: that synne which is vnder the commandemet myght be out of measure synfull.
7:14	For we knowe that the lawe is spirituall: but I am carnall solde vnder synne
7:15	because I wote not what I doo. For what I wold that do I not: but what I hate that do I.
7:16	Yf I do now that which I wolde not I graute to the lawe that it is good.
7:17	So then nowe it is not I that do it but synne that dwelleth in me.
7:18	For I knowe that in me (that is to saye in my flesshe) dwelleth no good thinge. To will is present with me: but I fynde no meanes to performe that which is good.
7:19	For I doo not yt good thinge which I wold: but that evill do I which I wolde not.
7:20	Finally yf I do that I wolde not then is it not I that doo it but synne that dwelleth in me doeth it.
7:21	I fynde then by the lawe that when I wolde do good evyll is present with me.
7:22	I delite in the lawe of God concerninge the inner man.
7:23	But I se another lawe in my membres rebellinge agaynst the lawe of my mynde and subduynge me vnto the lawe of synne which is in my membres.
7:24	O wretched man yt I am: who shall delyver me fro this body of deeth?
7:25	I thanke God thorow Iesus Christ oure Lorde. So then I my silfe in my mynde serve the lawe of God and in my flesshe the lawe of synne.
