| 4:1 | Let a man this wyse esteme vs, euen as the minysters of Christ, and stewards of the secretes of God. |
| 4:2 | Furthermore it is required of the stewardes, that a man be founde faythfull. |
| 4:3 | Wyth me is it but a very small thynge, that I shuld be iudged of you, ether of mans iudgement. No I iudge not myne awne selfe. |
| 4:4 | For I knowe nought by my selfe: yet am I not therby iustifyed. It is the Lorde that iudgeth me. |
| 4:5 | Therfore iudge nothinge before the tyme vntyll the Lorde come, whych wyll lyghten thinges that are hyd in darcknes, and open the counsels of the hertes. And then shall euery man haue prayse of God. |
| 4:6 | These thynges (brethren) I haue for an ensample described in myne awne person, & in Apollos, for youre sakes, that ye myght learne by vs, that noman counte of hym selfe beyonde that which is aboue wrytten: that one swell not agaynst another for eny mans cause. |
| 4:7 | For who preferreth the? What hast thou, that thou hast not receaued? If thou haue receaued it, why reioysest thou, as though thou haddest not receaued it? |
| 4:8 | Nowe ye are full: nowe ye are made ryche: ye raygne as kinges without vs: and I wolde to God ye dyd raygne, that we myght raygne with you. |
| 4:9 | For me thynketh, that God hath set forth vs (which are the last Apostles) as it were men appoynted to deeth. For we are a gasynge stocke vnto the worlde, and to the Angels, and to men. |
| 4:10 | We are fooles for Christes sake, but ye are wyse thorowe Chryst. We weake, but ye are stronge. Ye are honorable, but we are despysed. |
| 4:11 | Euen vnto this tyme we honger and thyrst, and are naked, and are boffeted with fystes, and haue no certayne dwellynge place, |
| 4:12 | & laboure, worckynge wt oure awne handes. We are reuyled, and yet we blesse. We are persecuted, and suffer it. |
| 4:13 | We are euyll spoken of, & we praye. We are made as it were the fylthines of the worlde, the ofscowrynge of all thynges, euen vnto thys daye. |
| 4:14 | I wryte not these thynges, to shame you: but as my beloued sonnes I warne you. |
| 4:15 | For though ye haue ten thousande instructours in Chryst: yet haue ye not many fathers. In Chryst Iesu I haue begotten you thorow the Gospell. |
| 4:16 | Wherfore, I desyre you to folowe me. |
| 4:17 | For thys cause haue I sent vnto you Tymotheus, which is my deare sonne, and faythfull in the Lorde, whych shall put you in remembraunce of my wayes, that I haue in Chryst, euen as I teach euery where in all congregacions. |
| 4:18 | Some swell, as though I wold come nomore at you. |
| 4:19 | But I wyll come to you shortely yf God wyll: & will know, not the wordes of them which swell but the power: |
| 4:20 | for the Kyngdome of God is not in wordes, but in power. |
| 4:21 | What wyll ye? Shall I come vnto you with a rodde, or els in loue and in the sprete of softnesse? |
| 4:1 | So a man gesse vs, as mynystris of Crist, and dispenderis of the mynysteries of God. |
| 4:2 | Now it is souyt here among the dispenderis, that a man be foundun trewe. |
| 4:3 | And to me it is for the leest thing, that Y be demyd of you, or of mannus dai; but nether Y deme my silf. |
| 4:4 | For Y am no thing ouer trowynge to my silf, but not in this thing Y am iustified; for he that demeth me, is the Lord. |
| 4:5 | Therfor nyle ye deme bifore the tyme, til that the Lord come, which schal liytne the hyd thingis of derknessis, and schal schewe the counseils of hertis; and thanne preisyng schal be to ech man of God. |
| 4:6 | And, britheren, Y haue transfigurid these thingis in to me and in to Apollo, for you; that in vs ye lerne, lest ouer that it is writun, oon ayens another be blowun with pride for another. |
| 4:7 | Who demeth thee? And what hast thou, that thou hast not resseyued? And if thou hast resseyued, what gloriest thou, as thou haddist not resseyued? |
| 4:8 | Nowe ye ben fyllid, now ye ben maad riche; ye regnen with outen vs; and Y wolde that ye regnen, that also we regnen with you. |
| 4:9 | And Y gesse, that God schewide vs the laste apostlis, as thilke that ben sent to the deth; for we ben maad a spectacle to the world, and to aungels, and to men. |
| 4:10 | We foolis for Crist, but ye prudent in Crist; we sike, but ye stronge; ye noble, but we vnnoble. |
| 4:11 | Til in to this our we hungren, and thirsten, and ben nakid, and ben smytun with buffatis, |
| 4:12 | and we ben vnstable, and we trauelen worchynge with oure hondis; we ben cursid, and we blessen; we suffren persecucioun, and we abiden longe; we ben blasfemyd, and we bisechen; |
| 4:13 | as clensyngis of this world we ben maad the `out castyng of alle thingis `til yit. |
| 4:14 | Y write not these thingis, that Y confounde you, but Y warne as my moste dereworthe sones. |
| 4:15 | For whi if ye han ten thousynde of vndur maistris in Crist, but not many fadris; for in Crist Jhesu Y haue gendrid you bi the gospel. |
| 4:16 | Therfor, britheren, Y preye you, be ye foleweris of me, as Y of Crist. |
| 4:17 | Therfor Y sente to you Tymothe, which is my most dereworthe sone, and feithful in the Lord, which schal teche you my weies, that ben in Crist Jhesu; as Y teche euery where in ech chirche. |
| 4:18 | As thouy Y schulde not come to you, so summe ben blowun with pride; |
| 4:19 | but Y schal come to you soone, if God wole; and Y schal knowe not the word of hem that ben blowun with pride, but the vertu. |
| 4:20 | For the rewme of God is not in word, but in vertu. |
| 4:21 | What wole ye? Schal Y come to you in a yerde, or in charite, and in spirit of myldenesse? |
| 4:1 | Let euery man this wyse esteme vs, euen for the mynisters of Christ, and stewardes of the secretes of God. |
| 4:2 | Now is there no more requyred of the stewardes, then, that they be founde faithfull. |
| 4:3 | It is but a small thinge vnto me, that I shulde be iudged of you, or of mans daye, nether iudge I myne awne selfe. |
| 4:4 | I knowe noughte by my selfe, yet am I not therby iustified. It is the LORDE that iudgeth me. |
| 4:5 | Therfore iudge ye nothinge before ye tyme, vntyll the LORDE come, which shal brynge it to lighte that is hyd in darknesse, and ope the councels of ye hertes, and the shal euery one haue prayse of God. |
| 4:6 | These thinges brethren haue I described in myne awne preson & in Apollos for youre sakes, that ye mighte lerne by vs, that noman counte hygher of him self, then aboue is wrytten, that one be not puft vp agaynst another for eny mans cause. |
| 4:7 | For who preferreth the? What hast thou that thou hast not receaued? Yf thou hast receaued it, why makest thou the thy boost, as though thou haddest not receaued it? |
| 4:8 | Now ye are full, now ye are made riche, ye raigne without vs, and wolde God ye dyd raigne, that we might raigne with you. |
| 4:9 | Me thynketh that God hath set forth vs Apostles for the lowest off all, euen as those that are appoynted vnto death. For we are a gasynge stocke vnto ye worlde and to the angels, and vnto men. |
| 4:10 | We are fooles for Christes sake, but ye are wyse in Christ: We weake, but ye stroge: Ye honorable, but we despysed. |
| 4:11 | Euen vnto this daye we hoger and thyrst, and are naked, and are boffetted with fystes, and haue no certayne dwellinge place, |
| 4:12 | and laboure and worke with oure awne handes. We are reuyled, and yet we blesse: we are persecuted, and suffre it: |
| 4:13 | We are euell spoken of, and we praye: We are become as it were the very outswepinges of ye worlde, yee the of scowringe of all men vnto this tyme. |
| 4:14 | I wryte not this to shame you, but as my deare childre I warne you. |
| 4:15 | For though ye haue ten thousande instructours in Christ yet haue ye not many fathers. For I haue begotten you in Christ Iesu thorow ye Gospell? |
| 4:16 | Wherfore I exhorte you, be ye my folowers. |
| 4:17 | For this cause haue I sent vnto you Timotheus (which is my deare sonne, and faithfull in the LORDE) that he maye put you in remembraunce of my wayes, which are in Christ, eue as I teach euery where in all congregacions. |
| 4:18 | Some are puft vp, as though I wolde come nomore at you. |
| 4:19 | But I wil come to you shortly ( yf the LORDE wyl) and wyl knowe, not the wordes of the that are puft vp, but ye power. |
| 4:20 | For the kyngdome of God is not i wordes, but in power. |
| 4:21 | What wil ye? Shal I come vnto you wt the rodd, or with loue and the sprete of mekenesse? |
