| 7:1 | Having, then, these promises, beloved, may we cleanse ourselves from every pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting sanctification in the fear of God; |
| 7:2 | receive us; no one did we wrong; no one did we waste; no one did we defraud; |
| 7:3 | not to condemn you do I say `it', for I have said before that in our hearts ye are to die with and to live with; |
| 7:4 | great `is' my freedom of speech unto you, great my glory on your behalf; I have been filled with the comfort, I overabound with the joy on all our tribulation, |
| 7:5 | for also we, having come to Macedonia, no relaxation hath our flesh had, but on every side we are in tribulation, without `are' fightings, within -- fears; |
| 7:6 | but He who is comforting the cast-down -- God -- He did comfort us in the presence of Titus; |
| 7:7 | and not only in his presence, but also in the comfort with which he was comforted over you, declaring to us your longing desire, your lamentation, your zeal for me, so that the more I did rejoice, |
| 7:8 | because even if I made you sorry in the letter, I do not repent -- if even I did repent -- for I perceive that the letter, even if for an hour, did make you sorry. |
| 7:9 | I now do rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye were made sorry to reformation, for ye were made sorry toward God, that in nothing ye might receive damage from us; |
| 7:10 | for the sorrow toward God reformation to salvation not to be repented of doth work, and the sorrow of the world doth work death, |
| 7:11 | for, lo, this same thing -- your being made sorry toward God -- how much diligence it doth work in you! but defence, but displeasure, but fear, but longing desire, but zeal, but revenge; in every thing ye did approve yourselves to be pure in the matter. |
| 7:12 | If, then, I also wrote to you -- not for his cause who did wrong, nor for his cause who did suffer wrong, but for our diligence in your behalf being manifested unto you before God -- |
| 7:13 | because of this we have been comforted in your comfort, and more abundantly the more did we rejoice in the joy of Titus, that his spirit hath been refreshed from you all; |
| 7:14 | because if anything to him in your behalf I have boasted, I was not put to shame; but as all things in truth we did speak to you, so also our boasting before Titus became truth, |
| 7:15 | and his tender affection is more abundantly toward you, remembering the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye did receive him; |
| 7:16 | I rejoice, therefore, that in everything I have courage in you. |
| 7:1 | Seynge that we have soche promeses derely beloved let vs clense oure selves from all fylthynes of the flesshe and sprete and growe vp to full holynes in ye feare of God. |
| 7:2 | Vnderstonde vs. we have hurte no man: we have corrupte no man: we have defrauded no man. |
| 7:3 | I speake not this to condempne you: for I have shewed you before yt ye are in oure hertes to dye and live with you. |
| 7:4 | I am very bolde over you and reioyce greatly in you. I am filled with comforte and am excadinge ioyouse in all oure tribulacions. |
| 7:5 | For when we were come into Macedonia oure flesshe had no rest but we were troubled on every syde. Outwarde was fightynge inwarde was feare. |
| 7:6 | Neverthelesse God that comfortith the abiecte comforted vs at the commynge of Titus. |
| 7:7 | And not with his commynge only: but also with the consolacion wherwith he was comforted of you. For he tolde vs youre desyre youre mornynge youre fervent mynde to me warde: so that I now reioyce the more. |
| 7:8 | Wherfore though I made you sory with a letter I repent not: though I did repent. For I perceave that ye same pistle made you sory though it were but for a ceason. |
| 7:9 | But I now reioyce not that ye were sory but that ye so sorowed that ye repented. For ye sorowed godly: so yt in nothynge ye were hurte by vs. |
| 7:10 | For godly sorowe causeth repentaunce vnto salvacion not to be repented of: when worldly sorow causeth deeth. |
| 7:11 | Beholde what diligence this godly sorowe that ye toke hath wrought in you: yee it caused you to cleare youre selves. It caused indignacion it caused feare yt caused desyre it caused a fervent mynde it caused punysshment. For in all thynges ye have shewed youreselues that ye were cleare in that matter. |
| 7:12 | Wherfore though I wrote vnto you I did it not for his cause that did hurte nether for his cause that was hurte: but that oure good mynde whych we have towarde you in the sight of god myght appere vnto you. |
| 7:13 | Therfore we are comforted because ye are comforted: yee and excedyngly the moare ioyed we for the ioye that Titus had: because his sprete was refresshed of you all. |
| 7:14 | I a therfor not now ashamed though I bosted my sylfe to hym of you. For as all thynges which I preached vnto you are true even so is oure bostynge that I bosted my silfe to Titus wt all founde true. |
| 7:15 | And now is his inwarde affection more aboundant towarde you when he remembreth the obedience of every one of you: how with feare and trymblynge ye receaved hym. |
| 7:16 | I reioyce that I maye be bolde over you in all thynges. |

| 7:4 | I am very bolde towarde you, I make moch boost of you, I am fylled with comforte, I am exceadynge ioyous in all oure tribulacion. |
| 7:5 | For whan we were come into Macedonia, oure flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on euery syde: outwarde was fightinge, inwarde was feare. |

| 7:7 | Not onely by his commynge, but also by the cosolacion wherwith he was coforted of you, whan he tolde vs yor desyre, youre wepynge, yor feruet mynde for me, so yt I now reioyse ye more. |
| 7:8 | For where as I made you sory by the letter, it repenteth me not, though I dyd repete. For I se, that the same epistle made you sory (though it were but for a ceason). |
| 7:9 | But now I reioyce, not that ye were sory, but that ye were sory to repentaunce. For ye sorowed godly, so that in nothinge ye were hurte by vs. |
| 7:10 | For godly sorowe causeth repentaunce vnto saluacion, not to be repented of: but worldly sorowe causeth death. |
| 7:11 | Beholde, where as ye haue had godly sorowe, what diligence hath it wrought in you? Yee a sufficiet answere, displeasure, feare, desyre, a feruet mynde, punyshment. For in all poyntes ye haue shewed youre selues, that ye are cleare in that matter. |
| 7:12 | Wherfore though I wrote vnto you, yet is it not done for his cause that dyd hurte, nether for his cause that was hurte, but that youre diligence (which ye haue for vs in the sighte of God) mighte be manifest wt you. |
| 7:13 | Therfore are we comforted, because ye are comforted: but exceadingly the more ioyed we, for the ioye of Titus, because his sprete was refresshed of you all. |
| 7:14 | I am therfore not now ashamed, though I boasted my selfe vnto him of you: but like as all is true that I haue spoke vnto you, euen so is oure boastinge vnto Titus founde true also. |
| 7:15 | And his inwarde affeccion is more abundaunt towarde you, whan he remembreth the obedience of you all, how ye receaued him with feare and treblynge. |
| 7:16 | I reioyse, that I maye be bolde ouer you in all thinges. |
