2 Corinthians - Chapter: 8

>
8:1I certifye you brethren, of the grace of God which was geuen in the congregacyons of Macedonia,
8:2howe that the aboundaunce of theyr reioysynge is, that they are tryed with moche tribulacyon. And though they were exceadynge poore, yet haue they geuen exceading rychely, and that in singlenesse.
8:3For to theyr powers, I beare them recorde, yee, & beyonde theyr power, they were wyllynge of theyr awne accorde,
8:4and prayed vs with great instaunce, that we wolde receaue their benefyte, and suffre them to be partetakers with other in minystrynge to the saynctes.
8:5And thys they dyd, not as we loked for: but gaue their awne selues fyrst to the Lord, and after vnto vs by the wyll of God:
8:6so that we coulde not but desyre Titus, to accomplysshe the same beniuolence amonge you also, euen as he had begonne.
8:7Nowe therfore, as ye are riche in all parties, in fayth, in worde, in knowledge, in all feruentnes, and in loue, which ye haue to vs: euen so, se that ye be plenteous in thys beniuolence also.
8:8This saye I, not commaundynge: but because of feruentnes, I do alowe the vnfaynednesse of youre loue towarde other men.
8:9For ye knowe the liberalytie of oure Lord Iesus Christ, that though he was ryche, yet for youre sakes he became poore that ye, thorowe hys pouertye, myght be made ryche.
8:10And I geue councell hereto. For thys is expedient for you, which beganne, not to do onely, but also to wyll a yeare ago.
8:11Nowe therfore, performe the thynge which ye beganne to do: that as there was in you a redynes to will, euen so, ye maye performe the dede of that which ye haue.
8:12For yf there be fyrst a wyllynge mynde, it is accepted accordynge to that a man hath, and not accordynge to that he hath not.
8:13It is not my mynde that other be sett at ease, and ye brought into combraunce:
8:14but that ther be egalnes nowe at this tyme: and that your aboundance maye sucker their lacke: and that theyr aboundance maye supply youre lacke:
8:15that there maye be equalyte, agreynge to that which is wrytten: He that had moche, had not the more aboundance: & he that had a litle, had neuer the lesse.
8:16Thankes be vnto God, which put the same good mynde for you in the herte of Titus,
8:17which accepted the requeste: yee, rather he was so well wyllinge, that of his awne accorde, he came vnto you.
8:18We haue sente with hym the brother, whose laude is in the gospell thorowout all the congregacyons:
8:19and not that onelye, but is also chosen of the congregacions to be a felowe with vs in oure iorney, concerning this beniuolence that is ministred by vs vnto the prayse of the same Lorde, and to stere vp youre prompte mynde.
8:20For thys we exchewe, that eny man shuld rebuke vs in this plenteous distrybucyon, that is ministred by vs
8:21and make prouisyon for honest thinges: not onely in the syght of the Lorde: but also in the syght of men.
8:22We haue sent wt them a brother of oures, whom we haue ofte tymes proued dilygent in many thynges: but nowe moch more diligent.
8:23The greate confidence which I haue in you, hath caused me thys to do: partelye for Titus sake which is my felowe and helper as concernyng you: partely because of other which are our brethren, and the messengers of the congregacyons, & the glory of Christ.
8:24Wherfore, shewe ye vnto them the proffe of youre loue, and of oure boastynge of you in the syght of the congregacyons.

8:1But, britheren, we maken knowun to you the grace of God, that is youun in the chirchis of Macedonye,
8:2that in myche asaiyng of tribulacioun, the plente of the ioye of hem was, and the hiyeste pouert of hem was plenteuouse `in to the richessis of the symplenesse of hem.
8:3For Y bere witnessyng to hem, aftir miyt and aboue miyt thei weren wilful,
8:4with myche monestyng bisechynge vs the grace and the comynyng of mynystring, that is maad to hooli men.
8:5And not as we hopiden, but thei yauen hem silf first to the Lord, aftirward to vs bi the wille of God.
8:6So that we preyeden Tite, that as he bigan, so also he performe in you this grace.
8:7But as ye abounden in alle thingis, in feith, and word, and kunnyng, and al bisynesse, more ouer and in youre charite in to vs, that and in this grace ye abounden.
8:8Y seie not as comaundinge, but bi the bisynesse of othere men appreuynge also the good wit of youre charite.
8:9And ye witen the grace of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, for he was maad nedi for you, whanne he was riche, that ye schulden be maad riche bi his nedynesse.
8:10And Y yyue counsel in this thing; for this is profitable to you, that not oneli han bigunne to do, but also ye bigunnen to haue wille fro the formere yere.
8:11But now parfourme ye in deed, that as the discrecioun of wille is redi, so be it also of parformyng of that that ye han.
8:12For if the wille be redi, it is acceptid aftir that that it hath, not aftir that that it hath not.
8:13And not that it be remyssioun to othere men, and to you tribulacioun;
8:14but of euenesse in the present tyme youre aboundance fulfille the myseese of hem, that also the aboundaunce of hem be a fulfillynge of youre myseise, that euenesse be maad; as it is writun,
8:15He that gaderide myche, was not encresid, and he that gaderide litil, hadde not lesse.
8:16And Y do thankyngis to God, that yaf the same bisynesse for you in the herte of Tite,
8:17for he resseyuede exortacioun; but whanne he was bisier, bi his wille he wente forth to you.
8:18And we senten with hym a brother, whose preisyng is in the gospel bi alle chirchis.
8:19And not oneli, but also he is ordeyned of chirchis the felowe of oure pilgrimage in to this grace, that is mynystrid of vs to the glorie of the Lord, and to oure ordeyned wille;
8:20eschewynge this thing, that no man blame vs in this plente, that is mynystrid of vs to the glorye of the Lord.
8:21For we purueyen good thingis, not onely bifor God, but also bifor alle men.
8:22For we senten with hem also oure brothir, whom we han preued in many thingis ofte, that he was bisi, but nowe myche bisier, for myche trist in you,
8:23ethir for Tite, that is my felowe and helpere in you, ethir for oure britheren, apostlis of the chirches of the glorie of Crist.
8:24Therfor schewe ye in to hem in the face of chirchis, that schewynge that is of youre charite and of oure glorie for you.

8:1I do you to wit (brethren) the grace of God, which is geue in the congregacions of Macedonia.
8:2For their reioysinge was most abundaunt, whan they were tryed by moch trouble: & though they were exceadinge poore, yet haue they geue exceadinge richely, and that in synglenesse.
8:3For to their power (I beare recorde) yee and beyonde their power, they were wyllinge of their awne acorde,
8:4and prayed vs with greate instauce, that we wolde receaue their benefite and fellishippe of the hadreachinge that is done for the sayntes:
8:5And not as we loked for, but gaue ouer them selues first to the LODRE, and afterwarde vnto vs by ye wyl of God,
8:6so that we coulde not but desyre Titus, that like as he had begonne afore he wolde euen so accomplish the same beniuolence amonge you.
8:7Now as ye are riche in all poyntes, in faith and in worde, and in knowlege, and in all diligence, and in youre loue towarde vs, euen so se that ye be plenteous also in this benyuolece.
8:8This I saye not as commaudynge, but seynge, other are so diligent, I proue youre loue also, whether it be perfecte or no.
8:9For ye knowe the liberalite of oure LORDE Iesus Christ, which though he be riche, yet for youre sakes he became poore, yt ye thorow his pouerte mighte be made riche.
8:10And my councell herin I geue, for this is profitable for you, which haue begonne a yeare a goo,not onely to do, but also to wyll.
8:11But now perfourme the dede also, that like as there is a ready mynde to wil, there maye be a ready mynde also to perfourme the dede of that which ye haue.
8:12For yf there be a wyllinge mynde, it is accepted acordinge to that a man hath, not acordinge to that he hath not.
8:13This is not done to the intent, that other shulde haue ease, and ye cobraunce,
8:14but that it be a lyke. Let youre abundaunce sucker their lacke in this tyme off derth, that their abundaunce also herafter maye supplee youre lacke,
8:15that there maye be equalite. As it is wrytten: He yt gathered moch, had not the more: and he that gathered litle, wanted nothinge.
8:16Thakes be vnto God, which put in the hert of Titus, the same diligence towarde you.
8:17For he accepted the request in dede, yee he was rather so well wyllynge, that of his awne acorde, he came vnto you.
8:18We haue sent with him that brother, whose prayse is in the Gospell thorow out all the congregacions.
8:19Not onely that, but he is chosen also of the congregacions, to be a felowe with vs in oure iourney, for this benyuolence that is mynistred by vs vnto the prayse of the LORDE, and to stere vp youre prompte mynde,
8:20and to bewarre, lest eny ma reporte euell of vs because of this plenteousnes, which is mynistred by vs:
8:21and therfore make we prouision for honest thinges, not onely before the LORDE, but also before men.
8:22We haue sent with them also a brother of oures, whom we haue oft proued diliget in many thinges, but now moch more diligent.
8:23And this haue we done in greate hope towarde you, whether it be for Titus sake (which is my felowe and helper amonge you) or for oure brethre (which are Apostles of the cogregacions, & the prayse of Christ.)
8:24Shewe now the profe off youre loue and off oure boastinge of you, vnto these, and opely in the sighte of the cogregacions.
